I was reading comments about how hard it is to assembly this composter, so I decided to give the honor to my husband.
He is qualified maintenance so I assume that will not be a problem to him and I was right!
He did not have any issues with the assembly, so that’s all ok.
The composter itself is very sturdy and stable. Easy to rotate, but of course, it gets a bit harder as you are filling it.
I will use it for my own compost, my kitchen scraps. I like that you can drain any excess liquid and make your own compost tea for your plants.
Easy to assemble. Haven’t had any useable compost from it yet but that takes time. All in all I’m happy with this purchase.
Love this veggie peelings to pest in 12 weeks ni brainer !!! Pays for it self
ue too description, took a little time to assemble but that is because there are many part and child + cat did not help 🙂
Easy to assemble and use, compact, just what I wanted to produce compost from my garden and food waste , would definitely recommend i
I found putting the little clips in hard work I broke a finger nail!
Have already loaded up one side and now hoping for compost in the spring.
Assembling the hexagon drum was fine with just one person, myself. There is a trick for the clip. I pressed the middle flat part from one end to the next after getting the 2 ends loosely into the slots and that works great. No need to pull the 2 ends far apart.
BUT. And a GREAT BUT. The screws are too big for the holes for the frame assembly. Thought I can use it staight away. But no. Could have return the product as not installable but thought I’ll try to find 7 screws that can fit the holes nicely.
Could have been 5 stars if not for the screws.
Update on the screws:
————————-
It is impossible to find a slightly smaller screw that works. I found that with the screws half in, it still works and still quite stable. Except for the stopper as the screw sticking out prevented the use of it. I ended up using a loose screw slotting in which still works.
I then found another solution. I put the screws in the fridge so it shrinks a bit. I still need to use much force to screw them in but this time, I can screw them all the way in. I figure if you have power tools, you will have no problem as I only have hand tools. Also, since the fridge soluton helps, I think it will be easier if you install it on a cool day – not during the heat wave as in my case.
Love this little composter. Brilliant for my little garden as it isnt too big.
Easy to assemble, parts are well made and fit together properly. Once built its also very easy to use. Would be better if all in black as the colour scheme is a bit loud, plus an all black unit would absorb more solar energy thus potentially increasing internal heat and therefore speeding up the composting process. Time will tell as to how robust the unit is in use .
Like the idea that I can turn lawn cuttings and food waste into compost supposedly quicker by using this type of composter which can be turned easily every few days to keep aerated, only time will tell
Found erection reasonably easy although had to increase instruction pages to A4 size as they were a lot to small for my eyes
Excellent composter. Ideal for a small space. Straight forward to assemble. Easy to use. Composts well.
Very pleased with purchase.
Screws a little tight to start putting in.
Would recommend putting on grass or somewhere you can wash as does drip when composting starts.
Sturdy even when both barrels full. East to turn and lock in place to empty.
