TIPS TO CATCH MORE FLIES!

1: Cut a few slices of apple or pear, or other fruits, even juice, put into a bowl.

2: Seal the bowl with food wrap. And punch a few small holes. This is to release some smell to attract the fly.

3: Put the sticky paper on the top of the wrap. Since it is very long, you just turn it around like a butterfly shape. Cover most area of the bowl, but don’t complete seal the small holes.

The fly will come because of the smell of the fruit. Since most area of the bowl is covered, they have little chance to escape the sticky paper.

If you have those pesky little fruit flies then this is the perfect solution. Hang it somewhere out of the way of people and watch the little blighters stick. It just works.

we had an issue in my town where we were invaded by flies from a scrap yard. our house was covered in them and it was driving us crazy, i bought these and they really work.. within a few days we had the issue under control and they were full of flies, we hung them up near the lights and its safe to say no flies will escape from them, they do take a little messing with to get out the case but other than that very easy to use, just try not to let it stick to anything like i did!

I suffer with flies in my home due to having an in house ferret. This can be quite risky as we all know they easily produce maggots and their favourite place to reside seems to be ferret turd.
Got the items and instantly put them up around my cage and honestly the difference these have made is crazy. I don’t have to utilise sprays which can be harmful to my pets and I don’t have to chase flies around trying to squat them. Definitely would but again!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo sticky, I didnt use a paper towel to unroll it and the glue got stuck to my hands and wouldn’t wash off but any oil will remove the stickiness. Of course they need to be sticky to catch the pesky flies. I hung them from my lights as that’s where the flies seem to rest and it’s caught most of them. I have walked into them a couple of times and got stuck myself, so either pay more attention than me or put them out of the way

Bought for the annoying summer flies.
Ended up with a wasp invasion near the front of the house, these things are insanely good, I’ll never not stock them, what a life saver.

Killed many annoying flies. I am not proud to say me and my girlfriend committed fly genocide on these annoying fruit flies we simply could not get rid of. These strips helped a lot and did what they were meant to do. Just be careful when pulling them out as it’s easy to just rip them right out of the box and get them twisted and stuck on themselves which is kind of annoying. Not a problem if you do it carefully though.

After finding our home unexpectedly swarmed by a plague of pesky flies, I checked on Amazon for a cheap and affective solution.
We hung one strip in the kitchen and two in the lounge and within a couple of hours they started to fill up.
The noise of a few stunned/close to death individuals, who got their legs caught, rather than their wings, will probably haunt me for a while, but this has to be one of the most satisfying purchases I’ve got from Amazon!
    Would definitely recommend 5/5

    Grim but effective!

They work, I don’t think they attract flies but after enough time they will catch many flies. They don’t work immediately but flies will touch anything and everything in your house if left long enough from what I can see.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave tried various brands of flypaper and they’re all exactly the same, they don’t really attract flies, the trick is to hang them somewhere where the flies are likely to try to land, we have one hanging from a light fitting and it gets loads in the summer, same as the kitchen window, hang in corner of the room and less likely to get them. Sadly they seem to work best hung in very visible areas as that tends to be where flies like to congregate.

You will almost certainly get some duds, that don’t unravel very well or don’t see properly attached to the tube, again have seen this regardless what brand I’ve bought.

Good value for money for the amount you get, and having bunnies, it’s a nice piece of mind knowing flies are caught rather than bothering them.

They work! They do as described and do it well. My advice is to hang near where flies enter and this will work wonders. The adhesive stays sticky for a long time without drying out and insects cannot get off of it. The only negative is sometimes the strips rip due to the way they are pulled out but for the cost of these, I’m not concerned.

Some were amazing and super sticky others not as much. But you get a lot in a pack so that wasn’t too much of an issue. We had a lot of flies flying around and we put up 5 around the house and caught about 15 flies in one day. They are good value for what they cost and do the job.

I did note the reviews for this, and there were more positive than negative, so I risked it, and bought them to try.

I took note from another reviewer, who told us to hold the capsule in our hands to warm it slightly, before opening, and that does work well.

I did open it slowly, holding the red ribbon in one hand, while twisting clockwise in the other, and that made it fairly easy to use.

The adhesion isn’t bad either, though I did watch one fly, over the space of an hour, gradually pull itself free of it – but I put that down to it being caught just beyond the capsule, so it had purchase on that to eventually pull free.

I’ve managed to catch all but one fly in the house, in the papers hung all over, but I’m sure that, too, will eventually be caught.

I guess the only thing about buying them chemical free, is seeing the flies take so long to die – but I’ll live with that, to prevent more chemicals being in my home!

One minus I found, was that I had hung one paper by a window, above a radiator and, when it turned on, a few hours later the capsule actually slid off of the paper!

So the paper itself isn’t secured to the capsule it comes i

Great job cheap too can’t buy these anywhere in my town and the ones I did buy from poundland where not as sticky.
The photos I have attached to this review is the one in the middle off my sitting room we have had alot off flies and moths etc because off this mad heat we are having in the UK I put this one up this morning and it’s for quote a few flies already it’s very sticky and I flight rubbing the cardboard it is in between your hands before you pull it out this means the glue warms up a little to get it out.
I have 2 in the kitchen too and one in bathroom and doing the job well the only down fall is my visitors have a habit off walking into them or near missing them. For 16 they are cheap and they come with drawing pins too be able to hang or push them into something they also have a little ribbon on then which I used to hang around my ceiling lights. They don’t give off any flumes which is great for people with health issues that can’t use fly sprays etc just remember too take them down when pretty full no need to replace them until there full the sticky stays sticky for a long time. You can not use these outside as there made off a non waterproof pape

Great job got the flies out off my house

These work really well. Obviously you have to hang them in places where flies tend to congregate rather than out of the way. I like to hang them off bulldog clips so that I can move them around more easily. The glue is very sticky and flies stay stuck. 4 stars rather than 5 because it’s a bit fiddly to open and unroll them without getting glue on your fingers or tearing the strip.

I have used this type of product before and am doing so again because the wife does nt like the smell of fly spray! Before following the instructions it is worth planning where to hang the traps from – unless you happen to have ceiling with a supply of hooks. I am not convinced about the drawing pins provided. The traps are best placed well away from anything they may blow against because – they will stick. I found wrapping a bit of parcel tape round a garden support stick and a tube of bathroom sealant enabled me to create a temporary hanging mechanism from which to suspect the trap from the tops of bookcases or cupboards. A small weight attached the lower end helps keep the flypaper unfurled. I shall now sit back and see how effective these are – the last lot were. My other hobby is watching paint dry.

Bought these in desperation, as I had a cluster fly infestation! Used all the normal fly sprays and potions which managed to choke me, but didn’t affect the pesky flies! I also have dogs, so using pesticides is not really ideal….however, (these may look unsightly when hanging up) but, within 2 days it’s stickiness had caught all of them! As an added bonus, if you hang one from the ceiling in your kitchen, it’ll also deal with any pesky fruit flies!

This pack arrived simply packed and in perfect condition.

Living in an old house not far from a canal, fies always seem to dtart appearing at this time of year.
No matter how thoroughly we clean or tidy outside and in, they reappear.
Although these fly papers are unsightly and generally a bit grotty they work quickly and effectively.
These particular ines don’t have the horrible smell that some do so I would buy these again.

Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

Mostly OK. Very sticky. Not too many flies attracted yet but maybe I have the wrong kind of flies?

  45. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Extremely sticky so does the job! I had a lot of fruit flies in the kitchen and it caught 7 within the first few hours of having it up. The loop on the end could do with being a bit bigger so it’s easier to hang but otherwise no complaints.

  46. Anonymous says:

Very effective at trapping gnats. However the tape is quite difficult to pull out (in a twisting motion) and the sharp pin can sometimes end up in the floor. Try not to tread on it. It should go without saying that it’s extremely sticky so leaves residue on anything it touches. Overall good value for reducing number of flies but does not prevent them.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThese are fabulous. I got these today and within moments had my first fly caught. I have used these before when living in France. They are not attractive to look at and you should always place them where the flies gravitate to. Like a window. Be mindful of the hight too. In the past I have walked into these and got my hair wrapped in the sticky coating. Nothing worse than peeling sticky gooey tape with flies on, from your hair. I took a star off ease of use, I couldn’t make the pin supplied work. It wouldn’t go into anywhere I tried so I used duct tape and that works fine and leaves no holes. They are super gooey so be careful not to get things like curtains stuck on them. However these do the job amazingly well and I am feeling so relieved now to have these. I have had a small infestation and my numbers are reducing. These little things are gonna help big time. These always get the job done. I find slowly pulling it out of the cap while turning in a clockwise motion helps widen the tape

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done

Had a load of flies in the house due to leaving the backdoor open for the dog. Don’t expect flies to flock to it immediately, but once it’s been left hanging overnight you’ll see that it does the job!

Has no smell, but it is sticky as hell so be careful not to get it on the wall etc.

I knocked off 1* because not all of the tubes unravelled properly.

    Does the job!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersWe’ve had a huge infestation of flies recently in the area. It turns out there is a maggot farm nearby which because of covid has meant they have all turned into flies!

I’ve been actively spraying RAID around the house but got a but concerned about the amount of chemicals being used from it. Thought I’d give these a try instead as a non-chemical option.

The papers are covered in a very sticky substance – it’s like a smearing of honey over them, but with no smell. They are a bit messy to set up as you pull the string on one end and extend the paper out of the container. The string is also covered with the sticky substance which makes setting it up a bit messy.

Once extended, just hang it up somewhere and let it do it’s job. I put one in each room and they do eventually catch them, as can be seen from the photo.

A low cost option to leave a few of these around and keep the fly numbers down.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little messy to set up but very effective in catching flies

These work a treat at killing flies. HOWEVER, when I was taking one out of the packet, a tiny amount of the glue got on my hand and I had to wash my hands FOUR TIMES with rubbing alcohol, petrol, and then soap and water, before it came off! It looked like some of the glue had leaked out of the top, while the paper was still rolled up. So I advise users to be very cautious when removing these from the packet!

They work perfectly but do not expect it will be easy to install keeping your hands clean.
It sticks so well that is hard to open and the lace, most probably, won’t be anymore on the item.
But once you did it, there is no insect can escape from it. Recommended.
