Packaged and presented with good quality craftsmanship materials and a giftable quality design. Setup is relatively straight forward with guided instructions and links up nicely to the app and my 2.4ghz internet router with ease.
This is a sleek and compact camera that doesn’t stand out too much, being ideal for smaller spaces or that little bit subtle areas like a overhead porch etc.
its hassle free with no wires and i am particularly pleased power saving configurations and also with the camera/video quality, also how well the battery lasts. We live in a quieter corner spot and this does work like a charm in terms of motion detection and doesn’t drain the battery here.
The price is really good and does have some impressive features with a clear intercom for decent theft prevention.
So overall good quality and value for money and hardly any lag here that works day & night pretty well. Also effortless install for convenience.
Review from my husband:
This is a really neat little camera. I love the shape of it as it’s really compact and the bracket used to attach this to the desired area is perfect too. Not much DIY mastery is involved here, just use the template and your drill holes are guaranteed. So when it’s set it’s good to go. Hooking it up to the app is easy but I suggest you do this before mounting it outside your house unless you want a nightmare installation. It’s rechargeable and totally wireless which is really good, but when it does run out you have to charge it so that means taking it down or having a stupidly long cable to charge it with, either is a pain in the bum. On the plus side, the picture quality is tip-top, really good and I love the full-colour night vision mode. It’s something else not a lot of cameras in this price bracket offer. I also like how it states ‘keep out of direct rain’, so mount it under the sills or eaves. The app is easy to use and really it couldn’t be simpler apart from recharging it. That’s the only bad point but for ease of use, it’s 100%. 4/5 totally bargain price for awesome surveillance. The app is a doddle too 🙂
Excellent security camera with great picture in the daytime and very effective night vision to give you 24 hir protection.
Easy to set up and install and is small so unobtrusive. At the current price it’s good value so it’s recommended
If you don’t have power nearby or can’t wire in cameras these are perfect.
They are really easy to connect. Just download the APP then follow the onscreen instructions on your phone and you will be set up in minutes. It mainly entails logging on to your wifi, 2.4Ghz only.
Then fit it somewhere suitable in range of your wifi. The picture quality is good and motion detection works well.
The battery will last longer if you turn off all the extras like, lights and alarms and have low traffic etc. It does say fit under the eaves to avoid direct rain, so it may not be as waterproof as I’d like.
Overall a decent camera if you are prepared for the recharging as this could be quite regular if it’s in a high traffic position or trees blowing trigger it etc.
you will also need a micro SD card if you don’t want to use the cloud.
The quality of this security camera surprised me given it’s price point is only 59.99. I honestly did not expect it to be as good as it was ‘bigged up’ to be in the advertising descriptors considering it’s low price when compared against other far more expensive cameras on the market. I’m happy to say I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far, though not ‘wowed’.
The camera itself as well as the attachments that come with it are sleek and easy to assemble. The camera can be placed anywhere at any angle necessary to oversee any part of your home, but you are directed to place it somewhere it won’t be exposed (such an under an alcove which may prove difficult for homes that don’t have these). It’s also relatively simple to set up, but you do need a bit of time to sit down and fully get to grips with how it operates and works from your mobile device.
It has decent picture – not the absolute best out there, it’s only 2K and currently 4K is the optimal – that would make identifying people on camera easy in the event of needing to do so. The motion detection is good, but not the best. I got alerts for delivery people calling at my house either just as they rang the bell, or just after I’d already answered the door, so this aspect isn’t the best, but for the price, you can’t really expect much better.
I’m not sure the battery life is as straightforward as it’s made out to be and the fact it needs to be recharged is a little bit of a problem, especially for people who may not be able to get up and down ladders to get to it on a frequent basis. (We are a family of disabled and elderly people, so we have to have it low down as our mobility is highly compromised). As for battery life itself, I have my doubts that this thing will last 6 months through the winter. I’d be very surprised if it lasted more than a month or two generally speaking, and that’s in good weather where it remains unaffected by the battering of wind/rain/snow etc.
Overall, a good quality camera, though not the best out there.
Very easy to set up via the app, and it gives a good image. The battery life seems good after nearly 2 weeks it’s down to 75% so on that around 2 months power.
It comes with all the attachments to set it up on a wall etc
I’ve had it out in all weathers and no issues at all.
A handy little cctv camera if you are struggling to get power to it , the motion detection can be adjusted so not to trigger all the time.
As you can see I use it as a wildlife cam and get all the local birds passing through ..
live in rental accommodation and have been having some issues around the property. I don’t plan on staying here too long so I didn’t want to screw in a wired security camera which would require feeding wires and drilling. With this camera, it has been a lifesaver. It has offered me a portable solution that required no drilling, no wires and no know-how. Firstly, this was very easy to install. I am not very handy and I was able to do it very quickly. The set-up was also very quick. You just need to download the designated app and connect to everything by sharing the same wifi connection. I have had this up for a week now and regularly drop in on the app from my work and I’m able to get a live feed on my driveway.
The picture quality is pretty decent for the price. It is nowhere near high quality but it’s more than good enough to make out faces and record the important moments. I have actually screwed it to a nearby tree as my landlord gets a bit funny about drilling holes. By doing this I can remove whenever I want. When it comes to charging the battery, all I simply do is slide it off the bracket and it’s good to be charged. It has been holding its charge very well. I suppose over time it will degrade like most batteries do but I can’t comment on longevity just yet.
It has been a week and is still holding a charge at 85%. What’s great about this one is you don’t need a subscription but, they do have a paid option for better motion detection. They have a built-in mic so you can talk through the camera and it’s surprisingly loud and clear along with a siren and strobe light to ward off deer or burglars. The only 2 minor downsides I have is that there is a slight delay of maybe 2-3sec for the camera to come on and record when it detects motion. So when a car drives at 10mph by the time it detects motion the car is halfway past my house. Despite this, it still records this so I can’t complain.
What makes this brand versatile is that you can either insert a micro SD card or use their encrypted cloud storage which does have enhanced features, like animal, car, or human recognition, to name a few, as well as many other enhanced features. This isn’t something I need but it is nice to know the option is there. All in all, this is a great solution for people who need something semi-permanent. It requires no drilling, no know-how and it is up and running in a couple of minutes. The battery holds up well and hopefully will last a decent amount of time. Highly recommend.
Hope this review helps.
This is 100% wireless and powered by a battery, this makes fitting very easy but you will have to take it down every few months to charge it up but it does not take long and is a simple task, set up with the app and my home wifi was easy and now I can view the camera from anywhere and alerts come right to my phone, the wifi signal is great to say my model is two rooms away and through two walls it’s been great, image quality is very good at 2k and the night vision is ok.
G-Homa ZS-GX5S is a 2K camera (2560×1440) 3MP with a 130 wide-angle.
It operates with a non removable battery that can be changed via the micro USB port with a 5V 2A power adapter.
The battery will last 3~6 months (wake up 15~30 times a day).
It features night vision, colorful night vision siren alarm, human motion detection and 2 way audio (intercom).
3 Alarm Modes – Audio warning, white light warning, audio warning and strobe light for your choice.
It records on a micro sd card up to 128 GB formatted as FAT32 only. You can also pay for a Cloud Storage subscription.
It is IP65 waterproof but is recommended to be installed under eaves and not in direct rain.
Only work with 2.4GHz WiFi router, not 5Ghz WiFi.
The setup is easy to follow and really well explained in the manual printed and in the CloudEdge app.
You need a strong wi-fi signal if you are planning to install it outside.
The camera is sturdy and looks like it will do well outside in the elements. The main ports are covered by a thick rubber protection.
I definitely recommend this CCTV camera.
The camera comes well packaged in the cardboard box. On the side are QR codes for you to download the app from the Apple or Android app stores. Lift the lid of the box and you are met with a large and well printed instruction booklet. This is a pleasant change from the tiny slips of paper that you get with other products and which require a microscope to read. The instructions are written in easy to understand English. It’s a breath of fresh air to find instructions that are actually legible these days, as opposed to the illegible Chinese English documents that are found elsewhere. Under the instructions, you will find the camera. This is a reassuringly weighty affair and pretty stylish looking. You also get a charging lead and fixing bracket.
The next step is to download the Cloud Edge app and register an account. Once this is done, you can add the camera. Everything was pretty straightforward until the final step of the process. The phone tried to connect to the camera and I kept getting a ‘connection failed please try again’ notification. I was given the option to run the manual set up instead and this worked immediately. Now it’s set up, you can configure the camera in the app. There are all of the standard settings that you find on cameras like this. You can choose between SD and HD – Both of which look pretty good. The colours are good and everything is well defined. There is also an option to have a light and to sound a siren. There are loads more options as well, including an intercom, night time infrared, an alarm, a strobe, power saving settings and much more.
I did notice that the motion detection alerts were pretty quick at coming through. The quickest alerts, from when the blue light on the camera triggered, were about 3 seconds. Compared to my Arlo security camera though, this has an equal amount of setting for a fraction of the price. For fifty quid, I’m actually really impressed with this as a device and am happy to recommend.
Battery operated but must be charged every two weeks, not good if you’re away for two weeks or more. It takes hours to fully charge. The software isnt great eithe
Camera works fine, under the same application as my other cameras (CloudEdge) and color night vision work quite well (thus under illumination with white LED) and is as well fairly sensitive to the other lights like traces of street lights.
Two issues about the movement detection:
1. as other cameras of this type it is not continuously sensitive in order to save power thus it srtas recording with a delay and can miss some quick event when the subject passes quickly through the field of view. I guess I need to get a wired camera to overcome this limitation, but it would be good to have an option here to decide how often the PIR sensor turns on to check for movement
2. I assume it has some sort of filter to prevent recording like animals, because it clearly skips cats, foxes and other animals visiting my territory which the other camera I got triggers on them. It would be again good to have the option to suppress this filter or decide by other means when I want to record and for how long.
The quality is brilliant, no magnetic nonsense, (had a camera swiped before).
Uploads footage easily to YT for safekeeping snd organising for legal purposes,
There are a lot of these cameras going around, they look very, very similar, this is the third company i’ve tried, (the first was ok but is sold out), the second was trash worthy, but this company is the best, would buy more, but worried that you can only record one camera while watching live at a time.. otherwise, would kit the place with these.
Makes one feel safer in these troubled times. HD picture quality is first class.
