Bought this for new allotment. Great for levelling newly dug beds. Wouldn’t call it lightweight but not heavy. Use another rake to refine soil. Have used it almost like a pickaxe to smash up clods of earth, probable not supposed to but it survived. It is a big head so check measurements.
Very easy to assemble, took all of 5 minutes. Very sturdy, British-made rake with short teeth makes it perfect for removing floating water weeds from medium sized manmade pond. Because it is plastic, not metal, you’re not likely to tear the liner. Not at all heavy. Highly recommended for pond work.
They do make them wider but this worked fine for spreading out No 4 farms top dressing on top of grass seed. The flat edge moves it precisely where it is needed and to the correct depth, then the toothed edge jiggles the material and seed into the scarification grooves, previously made.
This rake is considerably cheaper than the even wider ones available from screwfix etc.
I did swap out the 4ft handle for a 5ft handle, which made it easier to use for my 6ft+ frame.
This thing really helped and does exactly what it needs to. I put it through its paces and it withstood well. Super product for the price, especially compared to similar items that charge silly money.
Well made and would definitely recommend.
Handle is a tad short though.
This is incredible for levelling your lawn .the only issue I wish handle was bit longer. And that would be the best on amazon for price and functionality. But I’m around 1.82 cm tall so you do the math .
But even woth that still do the job perfectly
I wanted a wide flat edge to level some top dressing on the lawn. This is longer and less expensive than many of the metal rakes. I would only use it to rake through sand or loose soil. The tines are plastic but fairly strong. The handle could be a little longer but it’s nice and sturdy. Very pleased.
