ALPHA CAMP Portable Folding Oversized Camping Chairs with Cup Holder and Cooler Bag – Heavy Duty Steel Frame Support 200 KG
I needed a camping chair for +140kg. This is perfect. Heavy to lift as has such story legs. Wide seat. Cup holder on one arm and wiped cool box on the other. A excellent purchase. So good other friends have purchased since
I bought this chair to replace a similar one I’ve had for years. It is easy to setup, very comfortable and has a very useful insulated pocket. The carry bag makes it easy to carry around at outside events. Me being a larger lady it is very stable too!
I saw these oversized chairs with a price tag from 70 down to the 48 I paid for this one in April 2024. I thought maybe there was a catch, but no, it is exactly as described and like others have said, very comfortable!
Easy to pull out of the spacious, heavy duty bag and super easy to fold back up and slot right back into the bag.
I found it comfortable to sit in for several hours (I am 5’5″) and the cup holder and cooler bag will be so useful on camping trips. I won’t be carrying it around, so the weight (and it is quite heavy) doesn’t bother me. It is a sturdy chair, so you would expect it to be heavy in all honesty.
I am so glad I invested in this chair and hope it will give me many years of service, if I look after it!
Haven’t used as yet due to weather conditions but cannot wait to make use of this beast chair
Looks well made and solid, have used it for a little at home to see the build quality and I’m not disappointed so fa
This chair holds my large frame and can even hold up to 250kg. The chair itself only weights 5kg. The material is durable and the frame is strong and well made. The weatherproof material is padded and very comfortable to sit on for as long as I need to.
There is a large side pocket, cup holders and also a small cooler on the chair arms. This is great for camping as there is so much storage and it means lots of things can safely be kept in the chair.
I am a larger fella, so was looking for a chair compatible with my larger bottom and came across this one. Wow! Is all I can say. Very impressed with it. I can sit on it like a normal chair without slowly lowering myself onto it to make sure it’s going to support me.
The chair is very well built – it does have a bit more weight to it than your standard camping chair, but as long as you’re not hiking up a mountain you’ll be fine. The chair unfolds so easily – simply take it out the storage bag and it practically unfolds itself.
Also comes with an insulated cup holder, so will keep your drinks cool on a hot day. This chair is mostly for use in the garden, but I will also use it at the beach and also at our holiday home for lounging in the garden. 10 out of 10 for this big man’s chair!
As it has just this minute arrived here are my first impressions.
Heavier than I thought, and I just hope I can make it to the seating area where I am off to a concert in the park on my own (I’m a lady of advancing years though if I was younger/fitter, it wouldn’t be a problem). Hopefully the strap will make transporting it on foot somewhat easier.
Once oozled out of the carry bag, the folded chair is a bit awkward putting back in, but even so I could manage it.
Onto the chair itself – well absolutely great. Easiest one to open I’ve ever had, almost a one finger effort, ok not quite, but very simple. Lovely sturdy structure (hence weight) and unlikely to drop me on the ground at short notice. I had a brief ‘sit’ in and it was more comfortable for an aged bottom than a cheap and cheerful one. Easy to hand is a cup holder for my can, and an insulated bag for my sarnies as well! Luxury! So why did I get one that will give me minor struggles? Well, the concert is probably a one off, and forking out for a cheap and cheerful chair for only one occasion seemed false economy. Adding a bit more, I could buy, and did, a decent garden chair to use at home which will last considerably longer. So, on the whole there are lots of ‘luxury’ garden chairs available and you can be really extravagant if you want, but I don’t. This chair fulfils all my requirements, and more, at a good price, and I am very pleased.
I bought this chair ready for the upcoming summer weather for two main reasons. Predominantly to use as a comfortable outdoor chair, given that it is oversides and super comfy. Secondly, the chair can be folded down and transported with ease for when I go on my regular camping trips all over the country. The chair is very comfortable, is made of high quality materials so I hope it will be durable with regular use. To the side of the right “arm rest” is a cup holder and also a cooler bag which I believe to be a rather unique feature for this chair. Certainly when sitting in the garden I have enjoyed the convenience of having somewhere to keep a can of fizzy drink, and a pocket for snacks. The chair folds down easily for storage, meaning it can be transported in the car when I head off for my camping breaks. Overall I am very pleased and would be happy to recommend this product.
This chair is way better than the cheap one from supermarket or outdoor store. It’s very comfortable and sturdy. Very good for watching kids’ fixtures. Good value for the paid price.
Great quality, well built.
Good idea with the cool bag and pocket
Front digs in your legs a bit ilafter a while.
I recently purchased these folding camping chairs for a family camping trip and they worked out great! They were easy to pack and transport, and they unfolded and set up in seconds. The chairs are also very comfortable and sturdy, even for larger adults. I would definitely recommend these chairs for any camping or outdoor activity.
Took all 30 stone of me without budging, sighing or creaking. My sofa isn’t as robust. Relatively heavy but it would have to be as it is built like a tank. Also has a wide seat so I wasn’t squeezed into it, and I am 6’5″ and didn’t feel the frame digging into me like others so it may be a height thing. Very comfortable and I would recommend it.
This chair is sturdy, and comfortable! Like I’m on heavy side but this feels like could hold two of me! Being previously disappointed in quality for the chairs I realised need to get something better! And behold – here it is!
Bought this chair for camping and it does what it says. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and only takes small space when not used.
Comfortable and solid, very nice for outdoor use or just backyard. Can’t wait for the summe
Good quality all round product very sturdy holds the weight of what it says
It’s a good chair a bit of pain to get out as feet can’t reach ground when sitting back takes full weight no problem just little uncomfortable having to move so feet can touch ground I’m 5 10 it’s been years since this happened las
Bought there’s camping chairs as me and my partner are on the larger size and wanted something that was sturdy.
They are really comfy and didn’t feel worried about them breaking.
They are a little heavy but I expected them to be as they are designed to hold a larger weight.
I hurt my back a few years ago and I won’t sit on anything potentially flimsy, so fear of it not supporting me. I had a really good heavy duty chair about 15 years ago, but it was coming to the end of its life, so I have been looking out for a replacement for the past 3/4 years.
This chair is so strong and supportive I feel secure and its also not to heavy to carry around.
For me the only snag is the cup holder, being a bit too small. I would prefer half a size bigger to fit my coffee flask in it.
It was so good I bought another, for when this one gives up the ghost.
Buy it you won’t regret it.
Nb. I am 5’5″ and if I sit right back I can ever so slightly swing my feet, of so inclined. Also the cross bars under my thighs are a smidge uncomfortable, but the strength for me far outweighs the inconvenience. I can happily sit in it for hours with a good book.
Could do with some padding for your thighs after sitting for a while it digs in
Other than that’s it’s perfec
This chair is fab. We are a larger couple and this is so sturdy and comfortable. We’ve used it loads already and are big fans. I definitely recommend! And the cool bag in the arm is fab
Best chair ever. Pockets, drink holder and a built in cool bag
Got the chair for camping and it is very sturdy and strong.
As all the other reviews seem to say the chair looks quite good and is quite comfortable. However as most reviewers say the framework does press a little into the back of the legs but is not really uncomfortable although it would be an improvement if this design fault could be improved. The chair is a little heavier than a normal chair but this is heavy duty so should be accepted, and as mine is carried only as far as the car boot no problem.A good buy at A good price.
This is the third ‘oversize’ chair that I have bought – sadly, the other two were not worthy of the name and broke very quickly. I have used it twice, and overall it does the job well. I have two pieces of advice for purchasers – the first is that the front panel is very painful when seated. Like other people before me have said, you have to have a pillow, or alternately put your feet on a stool. I was in it for several hours at an outdoor concert, and with the pillow it was okay. The second is that the arms tend to rise up when one is sitting, so when one leans on them to stand up they do feel like they are giving way. It is not the easiest to get out of; as an arthritic person, it is a bit of a challenge (but life is generally) so you might find having a friend to assist a good idea. It is very heavy too due to its capacity, so that friend may also be called upon to carry it. I am thinking of investing in a trolley to help. I wait to see if it continues to support me without tearing or collapsing. I will update if it does/ does not.
I have a disabled daughter, she’s overweight, 330lb. I was frightened of her sitting on everyday garden chairs, in case they collapsed, I sourced this Chair online and it’s ideal. It holds weight of up to 400lb. We can’t get her out the garden now
Its very sturdy. I am quiet big but there are still spaces.
Bought these for using at my caravan. Very comfortable chair. Very sturdy & easy to use. Only negative is watch the price. 2 days before the items arrived (I bought 2), the price dropped by 17 each. Less than a month later they were nearly half price from what I payed. If I hadn’t been going on holiday the week after they arrived, I would have returned them & re-ordered.
I ordered the chair as a big guy not sure if all the claims were true about it being able to support my weight well it does is rock solid wouldnt doubt it. I changed 2 things since getting it tho I put pipe lagging around the arm support arms your legs rest on them and can be uncomfortable over a long period of time the pipe lagging softens this I also brought a cushion to sit on as you do sink into the chair the cushion makes it easy to stand up for myself. Other than that its all good.
These are so comfortable! Very roomy (we actually fitted 1 adult & 1 child side by side in the one chair! They feel really sturdy. Would definitely recommend! Love the build in cool bag!
It was perfect for a day at a festival . Will use more over the summe
Great size handy features not the most comfortable chair I have ever sat i
The pictures don’t really do the sheer heft of this chair justice. Wouldn’t recommend if you intend to be carrying it any distance. It is very comfortable and stable though and the cooler pouch in the arm is a good size for keeping anything from lunch to small fishing tackle boxes
I’m a big guy, 6ft, 20st+, this chair was very sturdy, the poles a very thick and strong, high wide back, so my poles digging into your shoulders. My one criticism of the chair is the actually height of the seat, my feet weren’t touching the ground sat fully in the chair, the seat of the chair dipped quite low, making getting off it a bit of a task. But apart from that, it’s a great chair, the cool bag can fit 4 pint cans easily with room for ice to keep you drinks cold.
Looks and feels super strong also very big and roomy. Seat does sag a little which puts pressure behind the knees maybe a cushion will help. Cover to cool bag is made too small, as soon as any pressure is put on the arm it puts tension on the velcro and it opens. I feel if these two minor points were addressed it would be a brilliant chai
Great chair for larger people. Really strong and well built. It’s not high backed unfortunately, I’m 5ft 6. I do find it a lil tricky getting out of the chair due to the part that runs under your knees being fairly high. A great buy and comfortable
This made my guest feel at ease and enjoy our gathering
These are wider than normal folding chairs with reasonable padding and a thick frame. Great to sit in but bigger / heavier when folded. OK to carry a few hundred metres though. Check the folded dimensions before you buy.
This is the most comfortable camping chair I’ve ever sat in. The deepness of the seat means the only pressure point is the front of the chair. Team this up with some type of flat pillow and you can sit in this chair all day.
This chair is well built, comfortable and is great value
This is the most comfortable camping chair ever… the built in cool box is amazing and all my friends were so jealous when they seen it!
Very comfortable garden / portable chair. Great for watching live sports eg cricke
Many many straggles of loose stitching that needed to be snipped off before use, how did it get through quality control. The strap on the carrying case was stitched with a twist in the strap – again – who checked this?
Very sturdy chair but the cross members at the front of the chair can dig into your calves, I’ve added some padding and now its the perfect chair for a big lad like myself.
Husband is 6ft 6in and was looking for a robust chair that would support his frame, this does the job well. Comfy too! Highly recommend
Loved the chair. Larger lady with rheumatoid arthritis so worried in case the chair didn’t support me. But needn’t have worried my weight was not a problem. Use a rise and recline chair at home so was also worried I could get up off it. Bit with the help of a cushion behind me (I’m only 5’2″) and using the metal bars to push down on, that hold the arm fabric out, I was able to get off the chair easily, brilliant, hate asking people to help.
Easily folds in one simple movement and then stands in the folded position on its feet unaided, this helps when putting it back in the bag.
Haven’t tried carrying it anywhere, but that’s because I have no strength in my wrists and hands, so I keep a folding crate /trolly in the car should I need to move it anywhere.
Bought for a log cabin trip in North Wales with my adult children but was worrying about getting off the furniture in the cabin, so this chair took away my worries. I can see it being really handy for when visiting friends and family, again because I struggle to get up from their furniture at times, now I can use my folding chair. Thank you
If you are looking for a smart, high-quality, heavy duty camping chair capable of supporting up to 204kg, look no further. This is what you need. It is indeed the Rolls Royce of folding chairs. The build quality is excellent in every respect. The seat is at an optimum height – not too low or too high. Your feet will be flat on the ground when seated, but you will not be “low-slung”. It is easy to get in and out of. I tried the Songmics heavy duty chair – SONGMICS Foldable Camping Chair, with High Backrest, with Glass Holder and Thermal Pocket, Comfortable, Durable Structure, Max. Load Capacity 150 kg, Outdoor Chair, Blue and Black GCB10UB https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07MPYG5BP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JP3D5J8CCXXFKCGVC61B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
but the seat of this was too high for my comfort (as others have remarked). This one is slightly lower – perfect. It’s worth spending the money on this, for a chair which will last you a lifetime. Unreservedly recommended.
Great product and feel confident and comfortable sitting in it. I have back problems so a wee bit on the heavy side to carry and the carry bag has the drawstring stitched into the seam so unable to tie it shut. Would appreciate if companies checked products before selling.
Lovely well sized, sturdy chairs. The only issues I have are:
1) It’s a little uncomfortable under the lower thighs where the plastic digs in somewhat so I recommend a cushion
2) It’s such a nice, deep chair that I look like a weeble when rocking to try and build up momentum to get out of it
Overall, if you need a heavy duty chair, buy one of these. And a cushion.
Arrived well packaged.
The seat feels solid. Cup holder looks a bit shallow.
Seat does feel like it will cut into back of my thighs however.
Very strong construction. Unfortunately I underestimated the HUGE size of this chair. When packed up it’s the size of a good 6 man tent and poles! I didn’t find the back support to be adequate since it’s curved at the back and I couldn’t sit upright. Your bottom drops down from your thighs which I’m not a fan of. However, it’s a very solid and well built chair but I’m not really sure why these chairs are so expensive. It still feels like a 20 chair, with a decent profit too. Then again, all these camping chairs are ridiculously expensive being 50-120 per chair. There must be a camping chair cartel operating keeping prices high because I can’t understand why even well built chairs like this, cost more than 30.
I always worry about having to sit on camping chairs and constantly having to perch on the edge of the frame and that feeling that as soon as being sat that I don’t move for love nor money (if you’re a big person sitting on a small camping chair you’ll know the feeling!!). Well with this chair I have no worries at all. It swamps me when I sit in it, and the fabric is so thick and sturdy it has become an essential chair. The connections between the fabric and the frame are robust. Yes, it’s quite expensive, but I promise you won’t regret it.
As a large bulky male ,I have had problems fitting into standard camping chairs in the past and when I saw one with much higher weight bearing capacity and larger dimensions, I sent for it. It arrived within two days ,was as new and when removed from the container folded out painlessly into ,what I would rate a luxury seat. It accomodated my bulk easily and felt solid and strong , so I was able to sit down normally in it and not have to ease myself down gently like I was sitting on eggs. It is early days yet but the frame is oversize ,so stronger , the materials used in the seat are well padded and comfortable with a very nice professional finish to the stitching etc. It looks like I have found my perfect camping chair and only time will tell about it’s endurance . Meantime ,I would highly recommend this to others in my size category wishing for a camping chair that can cope with their body mass and is comfortable.
I am very impressed with this chair however I am finding two points that are not designed well.
It is a good chair for the money so I do recommend it still.
My two points are:
The cooler pack on the left arm rest needs to have longer Velcro to actually stay sealed when you lean on it. The edge is too short and when your elbow leans on the rest it brings back that part and as a result create an opening still.
I also have a bank injury so I tend to lean to my left more in the chair and rest there. So it’s worse for me as my elbow also wants to just go on the section which will break the zips if I’m not careful.
Make the drink hold also out of heat insulated material for helping keeping your beverage cold. Others have already done this over the use of just mesh like on this one.
Second is I would like to see storage for the carrier bag in the head rest like some others do.
Just a zip and the top for open and close. Also adds support.
All in I highly recommend this chai
