Can AlterLock be installed on any bicycle?ーAlterLock fits neatly on bottle cage bosses of most sports bikes and can be mounted underneath a bottle cage.
Is AlterLock easily removed from a bike?ーWhen in lock mode, removing motion will be detected on the device and will trigger the alarm to notify on your phone. This will make removing the device very challenging. We also sell anti-theft bolts separately to make extra sure that the device will not be removed.
What is the difference between a Bluetooth tracker and AlterLock?ーTypical Bluetooth-based trackers can only communicate within the range of a Bluetooth connection, making it difficult to track them once they leave out of your hand. However, AlterLock uses GPS and Wi-Fi positioning, so it can be tracked anywhere.

Bought 2 of these for our LaPierre ebikes. Easy to fit/charge and the app is simple to use. Good that 1 subscription covers 3 units(so up to 3 bikes) Accurate 1st location took around 24/36 hrs but has been stable and accurate since.
Looks slick the alarm is loud not convenience about the gps and Wi-Fi tracking picks up sometimes it doesn’t maybe a update on firmware will get better but works well with the app hides fairly well under the bottle cage
The GPS telling me where my bike is never seems to work despite the signal checker states coverage is in my area. I still will use this device since it sends a message and noise on my phone if my bike is tampered with, and I rely on a different louder alarm as well.
What I don’t like is the anti-theft bolts are too short, if they are 30mm long it would’ve allowed me to insert the device under my battery holder. I don’t have additional rivets, that’s the only place I can put it so I ended up using my own set of bolts which are 30mm long.
EDIT: It does in fact work but when in lock mode you need the bike moving before it starts tracking. I tried tracking a stationary bike.
The bluetooth also is a bit flimsy, my phone constantly tries to search for my earphones first and then other devices before finally the AlterLock. This causes a long delay before it connects to the device to lock/unlock, only way around this is unpairing every other bluetooth device so my phone instantly looks for the AlterLock.
2nd edit: Mobile phone was previously Android 11, I noticed after updating to Android 12 even when I have my bluetooth earphones on my phone is able to connect much faster to AlterLock.
I’m very pleased I purchased it but because of subscription it should be between 55-70 and the 95 db alarm would be more alarming at 110 db! I definitely recommend this product!
