What can I say. Just excellent.
They have killed a whole colony of little mee’ces. Heart breaking.
Crushes their little bodies like Thanos’s gauntlet.
I tried humane ways first, but the others didn’t take the hint.
Took a few brutal executions before i saw a platoon of little down cast mee’ces, with red and white picnic clothes on end of sticks, carrying their lunches and moving on to pastures new.
Hopefully to the grumpy next door neighbours.

Simply the best. We have over the years bought different catchers some good some bad. Over time we have lost them and now with these, they are by far the best and have been the most succesful traps.

Would definitely buy again or more, if I ever need to.

These are brilliant devices. Not like the old fashioned traps which were difficult to set.
Very easy to set, cannot trap fingers.

I’ve tried traditional type traps but the mice are too light to set them off. These ones take a breath of wind (almost) so very very effective in catching mice.

Great product, first night set all four traps which were fairly easy to bait even with gloves on so as not taint the trap with human scent. Be careful when handling the traps as the triggers are VERY sensitive! I used peanut butter as bait, crunchy in this case, which was clearly to the mouse’s taste as in the morning had fallen for it & was cleanly despatched!

Recently acquired a mouse in the meter cupbooard in living room. Caught the mouse first night i set the trap – was surprised it was so small considering the noise it made building its nest and trying to get out of the cupboard. Put down another trap just in case and caught another i didn’t know i had. This one was probably only there a short while as didn’t hear it at all.

    Mice = unhappy wife.
Mice in the garden = unhappy wife.
Mice in the shed = unhappy wife and I, as them little blighters like to eat everything in sight, and leave behind their miniature excrement!
These traps are doing the trick, one by one they fall to the sword (aka the jaws of the trap)! Imagine if there was a Jaws for mice, a mouse eating shark, the mind boggles.
Anyways, these traps will do the trick, if the mice in your garden you are sick (of), they will meet their fate, and it won’t be great, but the wife at least will be happy!

One night with this and it caught the mouse immediately! The mouse in question was a large one too. Just opened the trap and it was ready to be re set.
I used a little piece of chocolate cake placed towards the deeper side of the bait cup and it worked like a charm. Highly effective and efficient, simple to set up, clean up and reuse!

Excellent for killing small mice. Good value for money. I used it with cheese. It killed a mice today.
Although it’s made of plastic but it’s enough for small mouses. Hopefully it’ll get rid of all the mouse in my house. I kind of feel sorry for the mouse now, seeing it dead.

Cheap but simple to use, neat and clean killer. I got two mice the first night I left the traps in the attic, one the second, another one the third night. There was no sign of struggle and the mice were evidently instantly killed. Much better than other traps that I used in the past. I would certainly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAfter all this wet weather the local mouse population decided my house was THE place to go. I’m very impressed with these mouse traps as – so far – in 2 days I have dispatched 5 mice. Not only have these traps been successful almost every time but they are easier to load and empty than the old wooden ones. Very strong spring ( as confirmed by the bruise on the tip of my thumb – clumsy me!) no mouse suffered on its execution as was extremely quick as well easy to load again for another try. I’ve only had one miss but that was because I left the trap on the floor with space around it which meant the little blighter pinched the peanut butter safely without setting it off grrrr. Best bet for success is to leave in a confined space such as behind the toaster then the intended target has to tread on the trigger. I am not proud of the death toll so far but I’m afraid its my health or theirs and as mice spread diseases as well as cause damage to wiring etc then they have to go. Putting down peppermint oil etc etc doesn’t work and poison is cruel and hit and miss. Catching them and taking them 2km away would cost a fortune in petrol and as I don’t drive would be unrealistic! Anyway they just come back and bring their friends! These traps are inexpensive, hygienic, work exceedingly well and do not cause distress ( unless your grandchildren witness your felony of course! Ooops ). If you have a mouse problem then I highly recommend.

These mousetraps really work. Very simple, we used milk chocolate (mice seem to love this) but you need to grate it and then push it very tight into the baiting cup – this prevents the mouse from stealing the bait without triggering the trap! The trap itself, you just open it and it clicks into place and a small force will trigger it. We caught a couple with them and they were definitely dead!

I have voles causing havoc in my Veg garden. These traps are the best so far. I set them in plant pots lying on their side. Most of the time the small sultana is gone and the trap is unsprung. Voles caught have been crushed anywhere from head to pelvis. Two traps went missing – one found over a metre away in undergrowth was empty, the other found 5 metres away still attached to the beak of a young blackbird! I opened the trap and the bird flew off rather drunkenly. I am awaiting peanut butter to smear in the “food pot”. So far, using the little sultanas I have found the “food pot” to be a complete waste of time – but maybe with peanut butter it will be useful.
Peanut butter pressed into the food-pot seems to have done the trick. Only one trap cleaned out and still set. The removable pots are good for taking out and pressing a little peanut butter into the bottom of the pot.

Easy to bait and set up. Much better designed to avoiding accidentally setting it off and trapping fingers than the traditional Little Nipper type. Very effective, caught a wood mouse that had got in the utility room recently. No blood, no mess. Good value as well, 4 traps for 7 and they seem sturdy with a strong spring.

Read Marks review and follow his advice. We got instant results. Arrived Friday afternoon by Friday 9pm our unwanted guest had been dispatched to the mousy great beyond. Ensuring the bait it packed solidly into the base of the holder means even tiny guests will be handled efficiently with no unnecessary suffering. If it’s your first time you may need to finish off the chocolate soon after or have a large glass of something!

I like the fact that you can load the bait before setting the trap. In just a few days I have disposed of quite a few rodents. One thing of note, make sure the bait is stuck to the bait container as some rodents have got the bait without setting the trap off.

I have been using these consistently over winter in my garage with very good results. The traps are small, but powerful enough to dispatch of mice humanely. Very simple to use and the removable bait station is a good feature. I set two in my loft (using peanut butter) and heard them snap before I had got to the bottom of the ladder!
Several mice later showed how effective they were. They appeared to make a quick ‘kill with no evidence the trap and moved around and the mouse well and truly trapped and the neck broken. I dont like mice but neither do I like any animal suffering.
I have reordered these as folloshlyni disposed of the when I thought I had got rid of them all. As another reviewer commented, where you have one, you have many!!

    Brilliant product!

Mice are getting into the cupboard under my kitchen sink, so I set two of these inside the actual cupboard, and two on the outside just in case they ventured out. I used the chocolate method found in a popular review here.

So far, in the last week, I have caught 3 mice. And they’re nice, clean kills too. No trapped limbs, no nearly dead mice. They do the job perfectly! 5 stars!

  40. Anonymous says:

I liked that these traps are designed to minimise any chance the mouse suffering by making a clean kill, but nothing’s perfect. One morning I discovered that a trap in the garage wasn’t where I left it. I later found it at the other end of the garage where the wounded, now dead, mouse had dragged it. Only humane traps for me from now on.

We recently had a mouse problem in our garage. I set up a CCTV camera with night vision to watch the little blighters in action and plan where to put traps while I was waiting for these to arrive.
They are very easy to set – we used various chocolate/fudge sweets as bait as that was what the mice were taking. The traps are easy to set and not too sensitive when placing (much easier than traditional wooden ones).
I placed a mix of these and traditional wooden traps, and these certainly did the job, but the wooden traps had a slightly higher success rate. (I also captured some gruesome videos of the mice coming to a sticky end but that’s another story.)
The only slight negative for these is the bait holder is a bit of a faff to clean.

Really like these traps. I had a suspicion that there was a mouse in my daughter’s car and the utility room in our cottage but no one believed me! Quickly ordered these traps, put some Nutella as bait and waited! Next morning there was a dead mouse in the trap in my daughter’s car and a dead mouse in the trap in the utility room! Job done! Have since caught another mouse in the utility room (not my house thankfully). Hubby laughed when he originally saw them but the laugh was on the other side of his face when he saw the dead mice.

Very good design, especially the detachable food/bait cup idea, trap very sensitive when set as instructed ie flat not tipped to side or upside down. Easy to clean The best I’ve tried and doing the job well.
Peanut butter is my bait of choice if any one is interested, it gives off a lasting smell, doesn’t go bad for long time, rodent has to get well into trap to eat it as it sticks well to the bait cup.
    10/10

As much as I hate killing cute little furry creatures it had to be done … sorry mice. These are robust, easy to use with a powerful snap after the slightest weight is put on the trigger so be careful. I put each trap inside an orange juice carton on its side so a mouse approaches it head on rather than from the side (personal preference to ensure a quick death). One star deducted because one bait cup refused to be removed – the trap can still be used but it’s still faulty.

I left the door open for fresh air and saw two little mouse ran into my house. I managed to chase one out right away but the other one went into a gap in the wall. Been trying for many days to catch it but it kept hiding behind the wall and washing machine. I bought this Prime delivery, came within a day and literally within 10 minutes of setting it up it manage to catch the mouse. Btw if the mouse doesn’t die from the snap it would definitely die from a heart attack. I accidentally snap one when was putting the peanut butter in and the sound almost gave me a heart attack haha. 11/10 reccomend

Do not buy any other traps. These are the real deal. Been trying to catch a mouse for MONTHS, bought these them BAM. One mouse down. 2 hours later, BAM another mouse down. It was still squirming so I thought – i’ll pick it up in the morning. WRONG! The next day – it escaped! Put it out again the next night and BAM, another mouse bites the dust.

No mess, no blood, just a simple trap that works really really well. We used 80% dark chocolate mixed with Waitrose runy honey and it’s like a moth to the flame….

So baught these to try and get rid of some mice. So far they have killed 2 mice. I have had once occasion where the mice have eaten the bait without triggering the trap. Could do with being a little more sensitive. When they have been triggered they have killed the mice instantly.

  49. Claudio Rebuzzi says:

These are pretty easy and straightforward to use. I wadded some stale bread into the food hopper and it worked fine. Have to pack it in tight or the little blighters can steal it without setting off the trap.

They do the job, you’ll hear the snap when they trigger. As a word of warning, the results can be a little – messy. If you are squeamish you won’t want to watch or listen to the aftermath which is over in a few seconds. There can be blood but they are easy to wash. You can just squeeze the trap open at the end and drop the body.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI don’t normally ever feel the need to review this quickly but I’m literally over the moon. I bought these traps for next day delivery by 7pm after seeing a mouse the night before and being on edge all day the day after. I opened it and used it instantly as I couldn’t go on being grossed out and afraid whilst walking around my own house with this squater living in my house rent free eating all my food and making me jump.

So after just ONE NIGHT of using it, the mouse was caught. I couldn’t be any more happier at this point in time. I don’t think it’s easy to clean and I don’t know how I’ll get rid of this. Maybe a big spade. But I’d recommend these traps 10 times over.

Only thing I would say is, there were no instructions so I had to go off the Amazon reviewers to work out how to use it and use the coin to weigh down the trap but so delicately otherwise it’ll snap your fingers (doesn’t hurt though).

I’ll most likely throw the mouse still in the trap in the bin as I can’t face cleaning it. I am extremely happy though. I thought I’d have to be doing this for days before catching it but all done and dusted in just one night and just 6 hours after opening the box!!!

    Amazing amazing amazing

Had followed instructions very carefully, used peanut butter as bait and small amounts at bottom of bait section, mice wer getting in , eating it without activating snap, then one day , got one! Think it was the big mama! 2 Days later another 2, think for bigger mice they work but for smaller ones maybe not as good, either that or I’ve got super clever mice! Seem to be getting rid of them now! Watch your fingers with them!

Bought these traps to catch mice which had chewed through the wall in to our bedroom.
The first 2 mice that these traps caught, were only in the trap by their legs. Meaning my poor husband had to become judge, jury & executioner.
The 3rd mouse it caught however actually got caught properly and died in the trap.
They’re good traps, but just annoyingly don’t always finish the job.

I ordered the product on Saturday suspecting that a mouse or mice was eating the bird food stored in my garage. It came on Sunday evening. I was initially a bit sceptical as they looked quite light-weight, but I set the bait on two of them (I used a bit of beef dripping and put the bird food on it). I had some initial difficulty with getting it to set once I had put the bait in, but managed it. Set two of them and left them near to where I had stored the bird food. This morning (Monday), I looked and it had caught one mouse (a clean kill – broken neck so probably quick). So they do the job they’re designed for.

  54. AngelBirdsall says:

Wow, these work really great. We caught 2 mice in the first two nights since we put them out, using hemp seed as bait (we’d noticed mice devour it before). The traps kill within seconds, and they snap really strong, no chance for the mouse to survive this, which sounds cruel but it’s much better than having it fight for its life on a glue trap. We tried glue traps before and they were a lot of hussle as well as quite inhumane, the mice would first suffer then have to be killed manually. The traps on the other hand are quick and clean, there’s nothing to clean up, no leakage etc., you squeeze the trap open and toss the dead mouse away. You don’t even need to look at it. You can later reuse the trap multiple times. Just make sure to place it sideways as the instructions show so that the mouse must step on it when running along the wall.
And mind your hands, these can smash a pen into bits, you don’t want to lose your fingers.

These traps are piece of mind, we initially used bait stations for a couple of mice in our loft and they were no use, infact the poison just made them suffer for a long time. If you are put off with killing mice but do have an issue these are clean and quick. I fill the bait station with peanut butter and the issue in our loft is fine now.

There has been a recent issue in the back of one of our kitchen cupboard and we used 1 of the 4 traps there, in 4 nights we have had 4 consecutive disposals, once this situation has calmed down we will block gaps but this is a great tool for mice.

I don’t think the trap is big enough for rats though, luckily don’t have them going about.

Absolutely catastrophic for the mice that decided to make my garage their home…. At first I thought they were just coming in to look for food and then returning to their nest as the garage is not heated. So I stopped storing the rice grains they were helping themselves to there but their activity grew with the smell and mouse dropping unbearable and I feared it was a family of mice that could cause a major infestation and risk of them making their way into my house somehow.
This trap killed both mice the second night they were out. I suspect the below freezing temperature the first night deterred them. They stood no chance really… this is 100% effective if you set them correctly with the right bait. I used crunchy peanut butter tucked in properly in the cup so they have to dig for it…. set up a trail camera to monitor and so far no activity.

    Catastrophic for the mice....

  58. DelorasIrd says:

I had a mouse in my house for about a week and tried various other traps to catch it (I suspect one of my cats brought it in as I didn’t find enough evidence to suspect I had an infestation of them).

Set 2 of these traps with a small amount of peanut butter smooshed into the bottom of the bait cup and set them last night. Just now, only 24 hours later, I heard a soft thump and found the mouse had been caught. However unfortunately the poor thing had got its face caught in the trap and was still alive, squeaking, and desperately trying to get out. I had to get it out and kill it, which was unpleasant but the most humane thing to do since it was obviously suffering. So I give 4 stars – for catching the mouse – but 1 taken off since it didn’t kill the mouse but instead maimed its face so I had to kill it. I suspect the pressure plate is a little too sensitive, however it did its job of catching the mouse. I’ll keep the other traps down for a few days just in case there are more than one….

Found a mouse casually crawling across the kitchen of Christmas Eve – almost ruined Christmas as it gave me a fright and was too scared to enter the kitchen until later on Christmas Day, making Christmas dinner very late. Was a massive shock/surprise as I have never witnessed mice in the house – ever. We weren’t sure where the mouse went or where it could potentially be hiding. No visible signs of droppings. I did leave a little bit of chocolate on Christmas evening to see if it would be taken the next day. The chocolate was still there the following morning, but I realise that this could have been because the chunk of chocolate I left was too big.

Fast forward to the beginning of February and I see a mouse quickly running across the countertops! That same evening I ordered this product. Decided to order this instead of a humane trap due to self-isolation meaning that I wouldn’t have been able to release a live mouse far enough from the house. The product came quickly (less than 24 hours later). The bait that I used was bread with honey on top. Nothing after the first night. The second night it was left out I heard a clanging sound. My sister found the mouse trapped and dead. Handling dead rodents isn’t pleasant so she threw away the whole unit with the mouse trapped in (and covered up).

I’ve come to the understanding that there isn’t usually just one mouse, so will be using the remaining 3 traps that came in this delivery to see if more are captured. So far happy with the result and would recommend this but not for the squeamish as you will be confronted with a dead mouse and will be cleaning it up.

Perfect… delivered this afternoon counting bodies 2hrs after being down. Kill streak is 3 in two hours. Is that a care package or a UAV I can’t remember. Bait used is salted Kp peanuts single nut or half. I have set them in bait boxes too as I’m doing it outside which seems to accentuate the sound. I’m sat on my sofa in the lounge and can here when they go off in the garden. Perfect. If you are squeamish maybe wait a while before checking as the mouse will possibly be breathing they’re last breath on this world and travelling to the next… but I like to get them out and set them traps back up quick smart to have a proper successful night. I put two in each bait box total of four traps and two bait boxes. Perfect. Good that it’s mice and not rats as these wouldn’t handle a rat, but bad because they are mouse there will probably be loads of them maybe…. sound product.

Very easy to set up, but the best part for me, is the success rate and the ‘clean’ nature of the kill. It just clamps down on their neck as they go in for the food, and that’s it. Just hold the trap with the mouse over and open bin and press the lever to drop the mouse in. Trap is ready to go again.
I did find that some times if a mouse was particularly small they would be taking the food without setting off the trap, but I found a neat way to circumvent this. Just add a dot of peanut butter at the very bottom of the bait hole, and the mouse has to then put more weight on the trap to get down to it. So these really are the best traps for catching mice and I highly recommend them!

Amazing product. A few weeks ago we found out we had an unwelcome guest in our house. We tried the more humane traps but somehow the little critters always managed to escape so after finding out about these traps we decided to purchase. Less than 3 hours from setting the traps we had caught a first mice. Personally, if I had to kill them I wanted something that would give them a swift and clean death and this pretty much got the job done. After the first one we left a second and third trap and about half an hour later another one was caught. We have since left them there in case there are any more left but it seems our problem has been dealt with and we haven’t seen or heard any mice scurrying through the kitchen. Great value and gets the job done!

    firstly
I bought these to supplement 3 existing traps I own.
Due to a sizeable defeat on or ongoing conflict with mice,
I realised a historical military approach was needed.

Unfortunately i had underestimated the enemy.

chocolate, peanut butter were all but useless, initially they had worked, but the lesson had been learnt, and the traps no longer effective.

added to this, these traps, although having finger warning stickers on them, have a very feeble “snap”

I really wasn’t convinced, especially versus some pretty shrude bad ass mice.

so imagine my amazement when one of these perceived low power traps caught one!
in utter defence of the trap i didn’t think had it in it, it snapped on my finger and was nothing!
yet it didn’t just catch a mouse, oh no it was a rat!
It didnt kill it, in fairness the rat was 5 times the traps size.
though it did pin it, along with another trap on its leg.

I wont detail the result, other than to describe myself as “hard as nails”
yet this event left me broken and tearful.

Its played on my mind for a couple of weeks, though my only solace has been today.
For a few weeks Ive been supplementing the traps with “big cheese poison”
Today the effects of the poison have clearly worked, though the smell is awful!
It’s under the floor so no access, In light of this, the harrowing task of traps is preferable!

These are *so* much better than wooden traps, wish i had found these years ago. I baited mine with peanuts and within 30mins of setting them i had caught a mouse. I thought i had a couple of varmints lurking under the conservatory, but in the next 2 days I have caught 7 mice! So simple to bait and set, no nipped fingers and no mess when disposing of your ex-rodents.
One note of caution: be sure to set them carefully so the mice have to approach the trap head on without much room for manoeuvre, that way you will get a clean kill. If they can come at it from the side you may be left (as I was on one occasion) with a live mouse trapped by its back leg which i then had to dispatch myself before it went in the bin. Didn’t bother me but if you’re squeamish it probably will

Brought these traps after a clean out of the garage found a mouse hidden away. It appears they had gnawed into a bag of burd seed and spread that across the garage.

Had the devices for two days with a mouse caught each day. As can be seen the devices do not produce any blood or mess.

Devices are easy to bait and set.

I’m unsure as to why only one mouse is being captured per day – 4 traps are laid.

Was hoping to clear any problem quickly hut it may be a more slow and steady approach!

Easy to set and seem to be effective

Had a mouse in the house for almost 6 weeks now. We had a humane trap for the mouse to enter, but after 6 weeks he was not entering. When he started getting brave, venturing from the kitchen into the main living room I knew something more drastic needed doing. I saw these & thought I’d risk it. The first night we crushed some Honey Cheerios & set the four traps. By morning the trap had got him. We tried for 6 weeks to catch him to release him but to no avail. These traps do kill the vermin but they are not mutilated like some traps do. We thought that was it, but the following evening another mice was spotted. As someone in an earlier post said, if U have one mice, U probably have more. These traps caught the fella that very night. So for me, these are the best traps we’ve ever used.

I am actually writing this on the day I received them- because they were an instant success.

I had got some (not inexpensive) single mouse traps at 3 each from a local hardware shop. One broke, the other the mouse just ate he bait off three times without setting it off!

Looked at these on Amazon and liked the reviews.

Set all four traps up with peanut butter and caught 3 mice within an hour!

All would have had quick end as closed on the neck

They are so easy to set up- easy twist out bait cup, then just press and set.

What sets these apart from others, is the bait cup means they have to get into it for the bait, and the top
Of this bait cup is on the same level as the plate surrounding it which I’d the release mechanism and is sensitive and releases quickly.

Disposing is easy as you just press the back and it releases.

I haven’t even had to replace the bait either.

    Excellent product!!!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersCaught Mickey Houdini on the first night of using these.
He had the run of the house at night for the last 2 months. Several humane traps had been tried in order to release Mickey back into the wild but he had defied all , taking the bait without setting off the trap.
After he had eaten through some of my favourite biscuits, the decision was made that if he wasn’t going to go quietly then unfortunately it had to be the death penalty.
I set 2 of these traps outside his entrance (yes, mouse holes look like the mouse holes you see in cartoons although I was surprised how small they were!) with the lovely temptation of crunchy peanut butter.
I couldn’t unscrew the bait holder so carefully held the clip half way back, as if your pressing a peg half open, then spooned the peanut butter into the little pot, then pressed the clip all the way back to set the trap.
At this stage, keep fingers away from the front and place the trap by holding the back of it.
In the morning, poor Mickey Houdini was gone from this world. No blood, no mess, just gone, with his head trapped and his body stiff.
After a few apologetic words and a prayer that his soul was running free now in mouse heaven, his body was easily released with a squeeze of the trap, again just like a clothes peg. Because he was not poisoned, crushed, bloody or broken, I gave him back to nature in the hope his demise would make at least a small meal for something else.
Great traps and quick death. No suffering to the mouse.
IN MEMORY OF MICKEY HOUDINI. HE WAS SWEET BUT HE ATE MY BISCUITS. DEC 2029- FEB 2020. RIP.

Most reasonable mouse traps will work if the bait is correct. And by that I mean more attractive than whatever else is around. And the best overall bait is peanut butter by a country mile. Mice love this stuff.

I bought these because a hedgehog house I had close to my house started to be visited by mice. The house was close to my garage so inevitably when not doing the evening SAS raid on hedgehog food they inevitably laid up doggo in my garage nice, warm and dry.

Whilst I have no issue with mice the fact is that having them around will be a problem and thus need to be removed with extreme prejudice.

So I bought two types of trap. The first type – and more expensive was a close style that I could put into the hedgehog house and ensure Spiney would be safe. The second type – and cheaper – were these which, I could scatter around my garage in order to eliminate the small bandits nicking the hog food.

And they work well. As long as they are baited with something interesting – and peanut butter is the best – then they will eventually get nabbed. Unlike rats, mice are a bit stupid and will fall for these types of trap.

Easy to set and easy to open and dispose of the mouse as well. Shiny hard plastic so you can clean them simply as well.

The price is cheap for a multipack which, you will need. In the end I put eight of these in my garage and two enclosed in the hedgehog house and cleared the mice out in a week.

Golden Review Award: 323 From Our UsersThese traps work well.

Here are my top tips to get the rodents removed from your life.

Before I start, I need to tell you about my mate Al. He knows a lot of things about a lot of things and when I mentioned to him that I had a mouse in my conservatory he said there will be more than one. I am telling you this so that you too know there will be more than one. Al’s always right.

So I bought two traps from B & Q (not the ones I’m reviewing) and within a few short hours I had not one but two mice squished in the traps. However, one of the traps no longer had any chocolate on or near it so unless the mouse in the trap ate it and then decided to commit suicide, I could only conclude there may be more mice mucking around in my conservatory.

I reset the traps and put blocks of chocolate on the traps and in the morning the chocolate had gone but the traps had not been sprung.

I decided a new strategy was required so I firstly bought the traps I’m reviewing from Amazon and revised my approach which I am going to share with you because it may well be helpful to you and you will have to rebait the traps much less after successful kills.

The first thing you need to do is buy a large bar of chocolate — the larger the better.
When you get home snap off the top level of chocolate chunks and eat them to make sure they are very tasty; if it’s good enough for you, it’s good enough for your mice. Now put the rest of the bar in the fridge and leave it until the chocolate is nicely chilled.

Now get a grater and grate some chocolate onto a plate and use a pastry brush to create a small pile of flakes.
Eat some more chocolate from the bar.

Take a pinch of flakes and drop it in the hole in the middle of the trap. Use a pencil with a rubber on the end or some similar shaped object and pack the flakes firmly in the trap. Repeat this two or three times until you have a full or nearly full bait station (I don’t know the proper name for the round bait receptacle so this is what I’ve decided to call it).

Use the pastry brush to brush the flakes from around the bait station back onto the plate. If you have packed the chocolate tightly, you can turn the trap upside down whilst cleaning it and the chocolate in the bait station will not fall out.

Set the trap and place it somewhere on the bottom of the wall where it is obvious the mice have been walking.
Eat some more chocolate and if necessary, grate some more chocolate onto the plate so that you can repeat the above process as many times as necessary until all you traps are set and loaded with packed chocolate.

You should do this before you go to bed at night since your mice will be active after dark.
In the morning, get the chocolate from the fridge and have a few chunks for breakfast.

Now look at your traps. Not only should you have caught and killed some mice but you should also see that the packed chocolate remains uneaten. If this is not the case then another mouse other than the one you have caught has eaten the tasty meal that should have been its dead sibling’s if only it had been able to outsmart the trap.

So, take the trap outside and release the dead mouse into your bin or of course you could bury it in the garden and say a few words to help it on its way to the Great Mouse Heaven in the Sky.

Where the chocolate has not been eaten, you will realise you have a fully loaded trap that can be set again without the need to rebait it. Clever eh?

As I mentioned, Al said there will be more than one mouse so you might need to keep setting your traps every night until you get rid of all your rodent infestation. In three nights I have disposed of ten, yes TEN mice. I don’t know if I will trap any more but the traps are staying for the next week at least.

If the idea of catching but not immediately killing a mouse bothers you, you might not want to buy these traps. You can’t predict the position of each mouse when it springs the trap and that means some might not die instantly. I had to kill one that was caught just by its mouth. Another was caught by its leg in the night and when I checked the trap in the morning, I had trouble finding it because the mouse had dragged the trap under a cabinet before it died.

These traps may not be for everyone but they do the job, they are easy to set and they help you to get rid of a serious problem. Mice will chew through pretty much anything including electrical wires. If you don’t believe me, ask Al.

Caught a mouse the first night that I put these out. Very easy to bait and set.
I don’t like killing the mice but the little critters are taking liberties at this stage. Getting absolutely everywhere in the house and ruining anything in their path while leaving droppings all over the place.
It seems the trap unfortunately didn’t kill instantly as the mouse had dragged the whole trap a short distance while trying to escape so they’re not perfect.
However, in terms of effectiveness, they’ve done the required job at the first use. All that remains to be seen is longevity.

Edit: 2nd night, caught another mouse. Again, not killed instantly. In fact, it thrashed about in the trap so long that it woke me and I ended up going downstairs to release the mouse outdoors.

It took a while for one mouse to get trapped, however this probably isn’t an issue regarding the product but rather smartass mice. Who knows. The point is we had the traps spread all over the flat with the proper baits that we changed every now and then (chocolate, cookies, nuts); a couple of times the mice would figure out how to eat them without triggering the trap, so we started using smaller baits. After that, they just didn’t take it; that is, until some days ago when one mouse was trapped from the tail. It ran around the kitchen for like half an hour with the trap “biting” its tail. We finally got rid of it in a box and took it out. Thankfully the mice was not hurt; the tail was only stuck but it was not cut. Anyway, I don’t know what are the causes for the mice not falling into the traps, but the fact is that that’s what happend with one exception.
