Set up is super easy and smoking with this is a breeze.
I’ve tried it on cocktails but love using it on food instead. Some fantastic results.

The portable smoker is a device that is both interesting and qualitative in giving food a new nuance of modern style. The smoking gun is quite powerful, it works well, the smoke comes fast, it can be used with various types of wood chips. The product is very easy to use and you can enjoy a drink or a portion of food just like in a restaurant, plus when you have guests you can do something nice to amaze them. The smoking gun works on the basis of two AA batteries, then insert the chip into the smoking box and turn it on. I really like this product and I recommend it with confidence. Delivery was fast and well packed

A sharp tool in the kitchen, the smoke comes out quickly, the smell of the smoke is very good, it is very rich, it is simple and easy to use, and the bacon has a great effect. Adding a smoky flavor to some cocktails adds a layer.
Best of all, it’s easy to remove and wash. The operation is also very simple, and the filling port is large, which greatly reduces the convenience of ignition and the hidden danger of unsafe! It’s just that the smoked sawdust attached is a little less.

If you like your food smoked, then you’ll most likely love this product! It’s super easy to use and comes with some woodchips for you to give it a try before getting your own wood of choice for your own selected flavour.

This needs 2 AA batteries to work, but they’re not included. You might think that it’s annoying that you need batteries and it’s not mains powered, however, this means it’s portable and you can take it around with you and even outside! You can smoke your raw meat before sticking it on the BBQ!

It is important for me to mention that smoked food has been proven to increase your risk of getting gatrointestinal cancers. I see smoked food as something I have now and again as a little treat, I wouldn’t recommend using this with every meal as it might not be the best idea for your health.

Overall, I think this is a great little device that is super easy to use and I’d recommend it if you like your food smoked!

This is a very well made little smoker and it’s pretty easy to use – it’s just a case of installing 2 x AA batteries (you’ll need to get some as none ore included) and then you’re ready to go. Put a few sprinkles of wood chips in the chamber, switch on the fan and then light up the wood chips – the smoke comes out just about immediately.

I’ve only used this for drinks, I just put a bit of clingfilm over the glass then pushed the nozzle through – that worked okay. For me this is really for ‘novelty value’, as other than it looking pretty good it really didn’t ‘do it for me’.

If you want to take the time to do this for drinks then this is just the sort of unit that you need, it’s a good quality and is pretty effective at what it does.

Gosh but I do like this. I’m not much for cocktails, because I’m a total lightweight, but I do like smoked food. I approached this at home smoker with some trepidation. I first set fire to my family kitchen when I was two. It’s a long story.

The basic principle is that you get the food you want to smoke (meats, cheeses, vegetables, go crazy), pop it into a bag, or a dish with a cling film topper on it, push the smoker’s pipe into the bag/cling film topper, set the smoker going and boom – the battery operated fan pulls the smoke through the pipe and into your receptacle. The results are really impressive. I would expect the same sort of quality from a real catering kitchen. It doesn’t take up much space but it makes such an impact on what you can do with food, that it’d be worth it if it needed it’s own cupboard. It doesn’t.

If you are a fan of Masterchef then you will be familiar with this type of technology. I am not necessarily convinced of the practicality of using this on a regular basis but if you would like a little bit of occasional theatre then it is very good fun. You will need a couple of batteries to get it started which are not supplied. However everything else is included including a small bag of chips that will do you a handful of goes. There is a small instruction manual and an accessory bag also. It is pretty straightforward to use with the button down the bottom setting it off and to 2 different levels of intensity. If you want to add a bit of theatre then this is definitely something to consider. It is pretty small in size which is good from the point of view of storage.

Whilst this is little more than a battery powered fan with a detachable micro-firepit with mesh grate, and a rubber tube for directing smoke, it’s decent construction and simplicity of operation means it pretty much works perfectly – a little too well for indoor use if not prepared for the volume of smoke that it will kick out.

I found the best way to use this was to put the food to be smoked into a zip lock back first. fill the detachable head with wood chips and place the end of the tube in the bag, squeeze the air out, seal the ziplock bag around the tube and then turn the fan at the same time as using a cigarette lighter to ignite the wood chips. The flame is drawn down by the fan and the bag quickly filled with smoke.

Once you turn the fan off the embers sit there smoldering without giving off too much smoke so its it’s easy to pull the tube from the bag, seal it up, and then carry the detachable head outside to gently knock the embers free. I suspect clingfilm draped over a bowl would work just as well.

Once your food is sealed in with foggy wood-chip goodness, It doesn’t require much time for the smoke to impart flavour to the food, I found anything over 2-3 minutes was getting a little strong, depending on the foodstuff I was smoking.

One of my favourite tricks is to over-smoke grated cheese in a ziplock bag- the resulting and intense flavour is too much at this stage – but if you then melt the smoked and grated cheese (e.g. on toast, cheese sauce etc.) the smoky flavour permeates throughout in a wonderfully subtle manner.

Overall an excellent quality product by BORUIT, 5 stars!

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

I am very happy with this smoke infuser! As an avid foodie, it’s a gadget that I had seen before and thought about buying one, but I wasn’t sure if it would be all that useful. However, now that I have this one, I love it!

The device itself is so easy to use, and so far has been used to add flavour to cocktails and salmon. It only requires a very small amount of wood chips each time. the smoke imparts flavour after five minutes minimum, and the longer you leave it the stronger the smokiness. I’m very excited to try it on more things!

I always love the smokey flavor of fish and cheese and other food items but never knew how to go about doing it.
The smoking machine(battery-operated) came well-packed with detailed instructions and complete accessories on how to set it up.
With 2-gears, I can adjust the fan speed according to my smoke requirements.
After setting it up, all I had to do was to put my food in a bowl and wrap it in cling film, let the hose in, and wait 1 minute for the magic to happen.
It works well but a larger size would have been better.

I have tried this now with whisky and with cheese.
When I first opened it up it was different to what I was expecting. Its smaller than I expected. I was a little disappointed as I am with all things you have to add batteries to.
But once the batteries got added (that did not come supplied) it was simply a matter of light the chips that came supplied with the kit.
You only need to light them for a very short time and with the fan sucking it seems to ignite and produce smoke within a few seconds of lighting.
It’s a very simple and effective design.
I have to say I wasn’t overly impressed with the smoke taste added to my whisky but the cheese I was very happy about.
It comes with everything you need to clean and maintain the smoke infuser.
I don’t feel I will use this all the time but it’s small enough to put away in the drink cabinet for that special occasion.

Nice and small, produces good amount of smoke!

This is a great kit if you like to impress at home with beautiful cocktails or have a bar and want to trial a smoker out without spending a fortune. Works well with an Old Fashioned cocktail! It’s small/compact comes with all the bits you need. I would highly recommend this!

What a great little tool. Took literally 5 seconds to set up and start the smoke coming. Plug in the hose install two batteries (not supplied) and add a pinch of wood shavings. Light it and turn on the fan. Get the wood burning not just glowing or you won’t get smoke. I’ve demonstrated this in my video. First 30 secs the embers are just glowing and hardly any smoke comes out. I added a little extra flame and smoke poured out. Cover the glass or plate with cling film worked great. You can really taste the smoke in the liquid after a minute. Very impressed will be trying on several different foods to see what results we get, looking forward to smoking some cheese.

I’ve never seen or used a smoker like this. Although apparently designed for making smoked cocktails, I’m more interested in using it for smoking food. I ve used a smoker tray, which works well but it’s bulky and I use it outside. This little unit is cleverly designed more as a kitchen utensil and works remarkably well. I’d say it’s ideal for small amounts of food. I’ve used it to excellent effect with cheese, ham and fish, just laid on a plate and covered over.

The unit is simple to set up ( but you need 2 AA batteries not supplied) . You put a few wood chips in the base and reassemble. The nozzle goes under the covering; I used a glass bowl and slid the nozzle underneath without it getting squashed. It’s fascinating to watch and it adds a really excellent and subtle smokiness to the food. It’s not something I’ll use every day, but it looks built to last and, at time of review it’s just under 40, it’s an interesting addition to the range of gadgets.

This compact portable cold smoker works brilliantly, it comes with everything apart from batteries to get going and very easy to use. What appeared to be a black plastic top surrounding the wire mesh filter in the top is metal and can be removed for emptying/cleaning, the top part of the body can also be removed so very easy to clean out. A simple tow power fan sucks the smoke down the tube and into whatever your smoking. You could use any container as long as you can seal it off, an upturned dish as I did or even cling film or bag to seal off whatever you are smoking.

I tested with some plain cheddar and let it sit in the smoke for about one minute. The cheese tasted amazing, a very nice smoke taste and aftertaste and not overpowering. I will need to experiment with different times to find the optimum smoking time. I have some hickory chips which I plan to break down and use but I expect already processed wood chips are available.

Small enough to store away when not in use and works perfectly, can completely change the flavour of a dish.

Provides a lovely smoked taste in a easy portable to use device

This is a well made device and the components seem to be good quality. Unfortunately, the first one had issues, but the manufacturer quickly sent a replacement. It switches on, with 2 different speeds. Light some wood chips and the smoke sucks through really well.

You do need 2 X AA batteries, but they’re cheap enough on Amazon.

This is great for smoking food or making an Old Fashioned drink. I look forward to trying to smoke my own salmon and maybe trying some cheese.

Since replacing the original one, I can definitely recommend this.

Well made, with a good smoke outpu

This kit comes with the main smoker, rubber tube, sample wood chips, cleaning tool and spare gauze for the burner.

You need to pop two AA batteries underneath. Assemble the wood chip holder into the top of the burner and put a tube into a bag/box containing the food/drink to smoke. You then turn the fan on (one of two speeds) and light the wood chips.

The instructions say to run for no more than 30 seconds, which isn’t long. You can easily get enough chips in the top to run for much longer, but it says it can damage the device. There are bigger box-like smokers (without a fan) that are similar priced and can run for much, much longer.

I put a pinch of wood in the top and lit it, where it then produced clouds of smoke from the tube that would easily have filled a small room. It burnt for about 10 seconds then petered out to a much lower level.

For smaller items, such as drinks or a quick smoke of fish it’s really very good. It does what it needs to. For larger items that require more than 30s of smoking, it isn’t really suitable. The cost makes me wonder why a tube and a fan, with a small woodchip holder on the top can be so expensive though.

Expensive, but does what it needs to do very well.

You don’t need to purchase the cloche cover to use this fun bit of wizardry: use a glass or ceramic dish covered with two layers of plastic wrap; enclose the dish completely with the first layer and puncture a hole for the hose, then use the second layer as an overlay to quickly cover the dish after pulling the hose out after smoking the contents. I have smoked cheeses, fish, bread…the possibilities are endless and the smoked flavors are sublime. Highly recommended.
