My son really loves to play with it. It can be used indoors or outdoors. The customer service is also wonderful if you need any support.
This is a robustly build remote control car that can withstand quite a bit of punishment. It certainly lives up to the all-terrain toughness image portrayed in the images in the product description.
The performance is mixed — flat surfaces provide the best option for full speed and a smooth ride, while ‘off roading’ can feel sluggish and a bit painful at times.
Despite its occasional performance issues in the face of a particular bumpy, and wild, piece of grass — this is a toy for the outdoors. You; ‘ll not want this going full speed around your house!
The control is easy to use and responsive — master this and you can learn some tricks. The more practice you put in, the more you’ll get out of this car.
Battery life is very good with a spare to keep fully charged up, you’ll not feel short-changed on time. The remote is just powered by simple AA batteries (not provided).
The camera is ok — picture quality just scrapes by as acceptable.
Overall, a decent remote car that has many positives and some minor off-road performance issues. 4*
Bought this for my other half & he absolutely loves it the camera is brilliant & can even use your phone as a remote to stear the car best buy eve
This RC off-road car is very robust and the control is extremely responsive. It is super fast so I recommend it mainly for outdoor use.
The suspension is great and I’ve bounced the car off many surfaces without any damage. It can be used with or without the camera function but this makes it possible to see where you are as it has a pretty good far range on it.
The app was easy to use. The only thing I don’t like is the phone holder on the controller. It isn’t very strong, very wobbly and my phone doesn’t fit in well (iPhone 12). It fell out once but luckily I was just sitting on the sofa at the time. If that had happened out in the street I wouldn’t be happy!
Scored low on battery life because after 15 minutes I start having issues and then it dies around 20 min.
Otherwise is seems like a quality item for the price.
Good working, easy to operate, it is a bit
Expensive but makes lots of fun for older kids and adults
This comes as quite a large-sized toy in an imposing-looking box and my 9 and 11 year-old nephews were keen to get stuck in — especially since this comes with a video camera and there is an excuse for adding in a phone/tablet to the experience. On the box, this is recommended for children of 8+, and this seems about right — though even then it’s probably safest if adults are responsible for charging the rechargeable batteries that accompany the vehicle.
The set consists of: the vehicle, its controller, the camera, two rechargeable battery packs to run the vehicle, a USB charging cable for the battery packs, a little screwdriver to open the battery compartments on the vehicle and controller, and an instruction manual. Not included are the 4xAA batteries needed to power the controller.
The battery compartment on the vehicle slightly misleadingly refers to 4xAA batteries: you can’t use AA batteries with this, only the supplied rechargeable battery packs — one of which came separately boxed, the other inside the compartment on the vehicle. The charging cable and battery packs connect via fairly small, fiddly, and easy to damage connector pieces — this is why I suggest it’s perhaps better for an adult to deal with these (particularly than children just at the recommended age). The battery packs take quite a long time to charge: between 3 and 4 hours, to yield up to half an hour’s run time from each. The overall run time is decent enough, but the charge time of up to 8 hours before hand means that using this needs a bit of pre-planning.
The build quality isn’t the best. This is all very light weight and plasticky — again good reason for adult supervision — and doesn’t cope as well as it could with rougher, muddy terrain.
This isn’t without its down sides, but it is good fun, and the tech integration gives this a lot more interest for a pair of pre-teen boys than just a bog standard remote control car. On smoother/harder surfaces, including the bridle path track running up to a nearby smallholding, this runs well, and the light weight build means that it’s really quite fast.
3.5/5
This is a rear wheel drive, remote controlled car with app option and 720p camera.
First up, at over 60 it isn’t a cheap toy car, and to be honest I would rather they took 30 off of that and did away with the camera and app…
The battery life is pretty decent, and you gey a spate as well, so as long as you remember to take the included screwdriver either you, you can make a quick change whilst out. You will actually get the hour of play time advertised.
I actually think this car looks really good, cool finish to it. It is pretty quick as well. The rear wheel drive let’s it down though, on anything other than a smooth surface the rear wheels spin up a while before they they grip. Which at full power makes gravel a bit of a nightmare with the car deciding where it wants to go as much as you controlling it. It also struggles on rougher terrain, I wouldn’t really class it as an off road car.
The range is good, certainly can drive it a good way off! The camera us fine, only 720 so it’s not going to be the best picture but it does enable you to drive the car without having to see it, as long as you’re happy to use the app in concert with the controller or drive the car via the app.
Expensive for what it is in my opinion, but it is fast and battery is good.
My uncle had passion for remote vehicles and spent 100s on them and they were amazing. ( although we were only allowed to control them under Close supervision as treat) so I think I judged this unrealistically first use but after using few times and getting feed back from nephew I’d say this is good first remote vehicle at reasonable price. It doesn’t feel that strong but has survived few scrapes unscathed and it is fast and once get used to how sensitive remote is it’s easy to control. It does better on flat surfaces as got stuck few times on more uneven ground. The camera is just ok the pics are bit grainy.Overall this isn’t too quality and wouldn’t impress hobbiest but my nephew and his mates think it’s great and price good.Comes with 2 batteries so can charge one whilst use other which.3.5 stars
You get quite a bit here for you money. The car is rugged looking and despite being built from plastic managed to shrug off my nephew’s terrible driving and launching it from home made jumps. On tarmac and smooth surfaces it really flies, but off road it can struggle a bit with long grass or very rough ground. For the most part though, it happily shrugs off abuse and hurtles along. The speed means its not really suitable for indoor use – you will break stuff.
The remote control is easy to use, with an analogue ‘steering wheel’ on one side, and a push-pull trigger control to go forwards or backwards. With a bit of practice you can skid it through corners and pull off some impressive manaurvers.
The camera is fun, but not very effective. You can get a live view of what the camera can see on your phone though the free app, but the lag means it’s not practical to use it for actual driving. You can drive the car from the app too without using the remote, but again the lag makes this not very usable. The image quality from the camera isn’t great, and the frame rate is a bit sluggish, but it’s still good fun to get a car’s eye view after you’ve done a big jump. The app is very easy to use and connect quickly to the car and records directly onto your phone.
Battery life is pretty impressive, and we got enough time out of it to forget how long we’d been playing with it. You get a spare battery too, so one can be charging while the other is being used. The remote uses standard AA batteries which are not supplied though.
It’s a great toy and great fun. It’s robust, easy to use, and the battery lasts ages.
Really impressed with this RC car for the price.
Super nippy and lightening fast.
Very handle to have two sets of batteries so you can have one on charge whilst you deplete the other.
Takes bumps really well in our not at all flat lawn due to moles. never flipped it over.
Took to the flower well didn’t get stuck.
Body its very flexible and took impacts against the garage wall well.
I tried the app and the camera but the range of the car is much further than the range of the camera. if you were to have the car close it would work but having it more distant is not worth the pain.
Nice RC car, I was going to give it to the kids but think I’ll be keeping it for myself.
Our kids adore this toy car, though only our 13-year-old son is able to control it properly. He set it up with the camera. It is a lot of fun controlling it though the Joystick is very sensitive and needs getting used to it.
Right out of the gate, I would say this kind of thing is *probably* more suited for teenagers/adults than kids – I’m sure younger children would appreciate this, and be able to use it fairly well; but in both the set-up and use of this thing, I feel like you’d want someone older to at least supervise, particularly in installing the camera, setting up the application and the driving itself. The control of this car is a bit particular, and might take a while for a child to get to grips with.
However, it’s also in general just a really cool little RC car that works amazingly well, getting to some pretty high speeds! The camera is remarkably decent quality, and the app was super easy to use – in both connecting it to the car, and taking pictures/videos from it. The car is also durable, and will easily survive knocking into various things without incurring any damage – it’s clearly high-quality, and does not in any way feel cheap.
Similarly, the remote itself was easy to use and proved ergonomic; it just feels nice in the hand. I’m pretty impressed with this thing overall. Whether you’re a real RC enthusiast, or just a fan, I think you’d find something to enjoy in this. It’s a speedy little thing, and the addition of a camera means you can do so much more with it, and go exploring, too! Superbly well made.
Not as rugged as it looks (being plastic) but it did withstand some hard front end crashes into walls.
Very fast and the hair-trigger of the remote takes some getting used to. As there are no brakes, I threw it into reverse briefly (take the trigger forward) to stop it. I don’t like the remote – with a trigger for speed and forward/reverse but a wheel on the right hand side for turning. This is not ergonomic.
Went on paving, grass and road. Managed to climb over some edges and also dropped down a step without a problem.
Needs space. Cannot be used indoors. Two batteries is good – extends performance time.
I did not fit the camera or use the app. I think these are gimmicks and I don’t want such stuff on my phone. I can’t see a use for the camera really. I think that novelty (assuming it works perfectly) will wear off. It’s an OK vehicle for the price.
My adult son LOVES this! Super easy to set up and ready to use within minutes: easy to control and goes fast! He’s setting up the camera and phone as the remote control. If you buy this for your kids be warned, the adults will take it over!
A really fun remote control car that’s easy to get up and running. The camera is a bit of a gimmick and doesn’t work wonderfully well, but the steering and responsiveness of the car is great. It’s surprisingly light, but that’s not a bad thing. The battery life is okay (it does come with a spare). Not perfect, but good fun nonetheless!
DEERC RC Cars DE36W Remote Control Car with 720P HD FPV Camera
Although the box describes this as an off road vehicle, it certainly does perform better when used on a path or roadway. I found this would work well when driven over a rugged stony path but if it encounters big sticks or growth it can become stuck. The car does have big puffy tyres with a good grip, but they can only cope with so much. As the vehicle is fairly lightweight the wheels can spin if caught on an obstruction.
The car is made from plastic, it’s not as heavy or sturdy as my other off road car I have here, but in all fairness that costs far more money. This car is more an off road toy where my other one is more of a hobbyist vehicle. This will take a fair amount of abuse but it can break if treated too roughly. Each wheel has independent suspension by way of a single coil spring, these will absorb a lot of the bumps but I wouldn’t go jumping this from a height or purposely driving into the kerb with it. Treated with care then this should provide a lot of fun.
I must admit I did find the handheld transmitter a little awkward, it is also quite cheap looking. This requires 4 x AA batteries which aren’t supplied. There is a phone holder that attaches to the hand held transmitter if you wish. There is also an app that can be downloaded onto your phone.
The attachable camera clips on to the top of the car, it’s optional if you want to use it or not. This does require a Micro-SD card which isn’t supplied in the box. I did find the video quality a bit hit or miss, the focus isn’t great, especially when moving. Stop the car then the video focus will lock and provide a reasonable image. Kids would probably have great fun using the camera.
Overall as a toy this works well and certainly has a good speed, but realise this is just a toy and not a hobbyist vehicle. If treated with respect it will perform well, but I doubt it will stand up to a lot of abuse.
