I have 5 of them in my house. They are energy efficient and the heat is very nice.
I have bought 2 of these heaters for different households. The best feature is that the panels are housed behind mesh grids. This results in excellent heat output from the sides as well as the top. The heater is on wheels so manoeuvrability is excellent. Two heat settings add to the convenience. I have been using one of these heaters while my gas central heating has been broken and it has been an excellent alternative.
Bought to heat our chilly downstairs north-facing open plan kitchen-diner and it does a great job – heats the room quickly (especially with the door closed) and is very quiet. The only downside is that it’s so quiet, you may forget that you’ve switched it on so we’re now careful to position the heater so that the red power light is in a place where we’re likely to see it (on) when we leave the room.
Works well. Gives off good heat very quickly. Thermostat so easy to control. Price point very reasonable
This is a truly exceptional heater the heats up extremely quickly and also cools down very quickly.
This heater is well made and produces some radiant heat as well as convected heat.
This heater is one of the better ones. Heats up quickly and heats the room nicely.
Brought this heater for winter and not have to turn the whole house heating on. This heater does the job whilst helping save cost.
Well designed heater. Compact and light weight with useful carrying handle. Used for quickly warming up main sitting room. Ideal for small/medium sized rooms. Controls are simple and easy to use. Very good.
Heats up to full inside a minute, silent, my autistic son can touch the grill without it burning him. Absolutely fantastic radiator.
This heater is lightweight but very fast heating up,it was so warm at the lowest setting it was unbeleivable how it could heat a large room quickly. Feet was easy to screw on,it seems sturdy. Im so impressed i ordered another.
Perfect heater for small to medium size bedroom. Heats up quickly and the handle makes it very easy to carry it to other rooms if needed. Only negative is the cable could have been better if it would have been half to one meter longer. Well recommended
LOVE this heater only had just over a week but heats up rooms really quickly. I’ve had various heaters and this one definitely best. Even better only 2kw all my others have been 3kw and heats much more effectively. Cools down very quickly but room comfortable for a short while after.
Unsure on effectiveness of thermostat, as I’ve had it on full temp to warm the room up as quickly as poss and just turn it on/off as required.
For larger spaces you’d need the 1.8KW setting (60p p/hr) to heat rooms up.
Worth noting, heat can be lost relatively quickly upon the heater switching off, so energy costs will add up if on for lengthy periods of time.
This heater is lightweight , heats the room quite quickly and I have a room with high ceilings, an open fireplace with chimney plugged by a chimney sheep, and a large bay window. It keeps the room warm on under the 1kw setting when up to temperature.
This is totally silent when on which is brilliant compared to fan heaters.
It is instantly hot and super easy to move with the carry handle, which being disabled, is perfect for me!
Well worth buying if you want a heater!
100% silent!
Fantastic Hester I bought it for my conservatory after 15 mins lovely and warm
Looks smart to well pleased
Ideal for a small room. I have another bigger Duronic in the sun room. They heat up quickly and efficiently.
I like the fact it heats a room without the heating elements exposed so no danger of getting burnt.
From switching on the heat is instantaneous, and so far I’ve only used it on the low setting which shows this heater is going to more than fulfil it’s role.
Moving the heater on its castor’s is very easy making this slick unit a really good buy.
Versatile, easy to use and heats up a room effectively.
Heats up quick and warms up a room better then most more expensive heaters.
my mother actually forced me to get this, because me and my fianc can’t afford to turn our flats very old storage heaters on this winter.
This thing will not heat my living room, but that is because we have incredibly high ceilings, so it is of no fault of the heater.
This thing gives off an amazing amount of heat, and it warms up almost instantly!
The thermostat function is great though, if you have it in a smaller room than mine, and as soon as it hits temperature it stops drawing power and maintains heat. Unfortunately, again that is useless to me due to the tall ceilings.
10/10 would recommend this heater this winter1
To heat up a single room quickly.
This was what I needed.
A no nonsense heater. Simple dual control and very effective mica panels that radiate heat very well, especially on the 2kW setting. Great purchase.
Easily put together. Heats up quickly and stays at a comfortable temperature.
Would recommend.
Heat in the afternoon to avoid putting the heating o
With that said, as fast as it warms up, it cools down just as fast, and unfortunately, so does the room it’s in, though I can hardly blame the heater for that!
Overall I would say it was a good replacement for the Bambino mini I was using for the same purpose previously, though I still think that oil / liquid filled radiators retain heat longer after they’re no longer being actively heated, which I suspect means the room will stay warmer for longer, so I’m not 100% sold on this over a traditional oil / liquid filled radiator.
We have replaced our storage heater in our lounge for this duronic heater. Very good heat output, but it’s obviously more economical on the lower setting. Luckily the thermastat switches itself off when it gets to right temp, otherwise it can be expensive to run!!!!
This super little heater is an absolute gem. The vented side panels allow optimum heat to penetrate and heat a large room quickly in less than 15 minutes. You can set the thermostat to switch on as and when you wish to maintain the heat within or to re heat the room. Good value. Compact and well made. Highly recommended.
It was well priced, quickly delivered, easy to use and thoroughly satisfactory.
Easy to move around the house. Heats up a room very quickly
I love this heater and it’s saved me during winter when my built in heater broke! The cats and the dogs love it too!
So far, I am so impressed with this little heater. Heat output is good, no stuffy atmosphere like that from a standard convector heater. Unable to have gas central heating in flats where I live so this is an ideal source of background heat for me.
It warms up the room immediately, light, practical, easy to use, not bulky
Looked great, my son’s house in the summer is very warm though winter time it can get rather cold & the storage heaters run away with way too much cost, this heats up very well on the lowest heat & keeps the place warm, it’s not too stuffy..perfect temperature, so if he sees a change in his electricity bill we’ll be getting another one for sure.
I use this heater for a large wardrobe which is poorly insulated, it does a great job of heating both the wardrobe and the room. It’s silent so it can be kept on during the night without disturbing our sleep. I’m very pleased with it.
So my oil filled heater gave up yesterday. Order this HV180 on prime after reading good reviews. I’ve been freezing all morning in my office, trying to keep warm with a small oil filled and a fan heater.
The HV180 has been on for 30 minutes and now I’m sitting here in a T-shirt!
Can’t say enough good things about it!
This is perfect for our toddler’s bedroom. The heat output can be put up high, which heats the small room quickly, and the low setting comes on at night if the temperature drops too low. Lightweight, easy to use and set up, and seems sturdy. Not used in a larger room yet, but I suspect it would cope fine.
Using a fan heater is a nightmare when taking part in online meetings – far too noisy. My own fan heater was difficult to use, not heating the room at all. Decided to try out this Duronic Slimline Heater – it’s brilliant! My “office” is very small, and I only need the heater on a very low setting. The thermostat keeps my room at the perfect temperature, and there is no noise!
Got the white model. It’s small but super effective and warms up well. Very quickly warmed up my small room, but I also tried it in my larger living room ( 20 m2 ) and even though it took longer think after 1/2 hours it was seriously warm too. It makes no noise. The thermostat has no exact temperature markings, so you kind of have to turn it intuitively – but it does auto switch off and helps conserve electricity. I guess it’s because it measures temperature of the heater and not really the temperature of the room.
This heater is fantastic. It’s much better than a halogen or fan assisted heater. The heat output is great and it doesn’t dry the air like others can. I wanted a heater to go in front of my mum’s french windows and this is perfect.
My only slight gripe is that it was dinted slightly on one side, which my mother didn’t tell me about. I’m not sure if this happened during transit or at manufacture, but it hasn’t affected the product itself, thankfully.
Fully capable of maintaining a comfortable temperature in my summer house.
No complaints at all.
Warms up the home office nicely in an external converted garage – size 3×6. Quiet operation. Timer and temp control work as expected. So far decent heat output on lower settings.
The Duronic heater helped us a lot since it’s light enough to easily move it from room to room. Its built is sturdy and the plastic wheels seem to cope well with all the abuse we inflicted on them. The thing is also dead-quiet, we sometimes only notice it’s on after the room got too hot to sleep in.
The design also protects any unwanted burns or over-heating when placed next to other objects, since the heat can escape through the metal grid. Be careful though not to leave it next to items that might be easily damaged by heat, including food or small electronics.
The heating itself is quick and doesn’t consume that much energy. The only disadvantage to it is that it takes quite a while to dissipate the heat all the way to the ceiling and back, so maybe we should have opted for the fan-assisted heater. Also, when first switched on it tends to have a weird smell and cracking noises that go away pretty fast.
It deserves 5 stars but the reason it hasn’t is because there is no handle fitted to safely move the unit when it is hot.
This is a very simple thing to fix – so why not do it?
There is one other point with heaters and that is the advice is NOT to use an extension.
Well, sorry, but the regs may advise this but most people will use one. Because the regs only allow 1.50 metre of cable fitted to the fire.
This means you may have to put it near something that may end up being too close to a combustable item. So the regs are in effect
making it more likely to have a fire.
I’ve fitted dozens of extensions to power leads to extend them. When the cables are extended – not bunched up – they have have never even become warm – never mind catch fire. Even if the max output is used, fitting a 13amp cable with ensure enough cooling to prevent it getting hot.
As always though, if you are unsure – check with an electrician.
When new they both smelt slighty of burning plastic after being switched on. This is covered in the instructions. The smell soon goes and I was left with a very good fire indeed. The amount of heat it generates is amazing. The type of heat they both generate is unusual too. I’ve had a string of different wood burning stoves in the past and the heat these electric fires generate is most like those wood burners. A very dry-warm sort of heat and nothing like conventional fan, convection, ceramic, carbon, halogen and even more esoteric fires about today. Back to the amazing heat. It is winter March 2016, frosty outside and in this average 16×12 room only one “bar” of the two available is needed to maintain the room at 20C with the thermostat cutting in and out. The fire heats up to full power in a minute after being switched on. This is documented in the instructions as well. If switched off immediately after just heating up(60secs) it stays very hot for at least five minutes and it is very hard to tell whether it is really off. This speaks of very high design and material efficiency and is an impressive performance. One very hot fire. I’ve not had to use both “bars” yet. There are also a number of important safety considerations documented in the manual. It must have its own socket; be sited three feet away from curtains or wall etc. Sound safety and common sense really but do read the handbook first. Wheels had to be screwed on. Four screws later and it was away. Has a lead tidy too. All in all a very good heater. signed Raver Duronic HV220 Slimline Black Mica Panel 2.0KW Radiant Convector Heater with thermostat – Oil Free Heater – Heats up in 1 Minute + 2 Years Free Warrantee
I didn’t have high hopes, since I live in a drafty and very poorly insulated flat, and the oil heater I used barely heated up my room. However, I was simply dumbfounded at the speed this unit warmed up the room, and how easily it kept the room warm.
I was concerned about the cost of running the unit. However, I’ve been using the unit on the half-power setting (1kw) with the temperature dial about 1/4 of the way around from the start, and found it keeps my (large) bedroom quite warm. When I leave the house in the morning, I turn the unit down to just above the frost setting (turns on at 0C), and shut my bedroom door. And I’ve found that it keeps my bedroom warm all day until I turn the unit back up (to 1/4 power) at night. I leave the unit on whilst sleeping, and have had to get up several times to turn it down to 1/8 power because I was sweating under my comforter.
I’ve already ordered a second unit for my living room / kitchen. I’ve been very impressed!
