Does Video Doorbell Dual support Apple HomeKit?
No, it supports Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant, but it doesn’t currently support HomeKit.
Can I add my other eufy devices to Video Doorbell Dual’s HomeBase directly?
Yes, you can add eufyCams and other eufy Video Doorbells that require HomeBase support to Video Doorbell Dual’s HomeBase.
What is the difference between Dual Motion Detection and Single Motion Detection?
Other doorbells only have one sensor, radar or passive infrared (PIR) for object detection. Video Doorbell Dual includes both sensors to take advantage of heat and wound wave sensing, reducing false alarms by 95%.
How does Facial Recognition work?
When the AI sees a face, it uses algorithms to recognize the person as someone you have told it to remember. If recognized, you’ll get a notification of who’s at your door before you check the video.
How does storage work? Can I expand storage or use cloud storage?
All videos are stored locally on HomeBase, not Video Doorbell Dual. Your video is encrypted with military-grade AES-256 bit technology and then sent to HomeBase, keeping your data safe in your home. HomeBase storage cannot be expanded or replaced.

The picture quality on this is excellent during the day and the night. However, the downward facing camera in the UK is irrelevant because packages aren’t usually left on the doorstep in the UK.
Great for parcels etc. Just a little bit of lag with getting notifications.
Picture quality is really good, love the dual camera feature on this unit, super easy to install and setup
Easy to install, great picture quality, but there is a delay of approximately 5 seconds on notification of movement detection and doorbell initiation. This means callers leave before I can respond remotely.
Works with existing camera system, excellent images and good response time when triggered by either motion or ring, I like the loitering feature which gives a notification if someone is at the door but does not press the bell. Would make a good first purchase with the hub to start a home security system adding other devices to meet your budget.
I have gone through several other makes of wifi doorbell, none of which worked particularly well. This Eufi has the major advantage of having its own base station which can be moved to receive the best wifi signal from the doorbell. It is then wired directly to the router, giving it almost instant alarm. The video is excellent and motion detection is very good. no random events only human!
Well worth it, with built in storage as well. No subscription!!
I gave up on my Ring as features all got suppressed begind a paywall. This is far better, good battery. Love the package camera and guard. Its great just to be able to review previous visitors and motions which you now cant do with Ring without paying.
I have been very pleased with this purchase. Easy to install and good to have a local hub for storage instead of paying a monthly fee. Responds well to people coming to the door. Very short lag time in alerting me on my phone. Pity the angle wedge could not be greater, 15 is not really enough when it is mounted beside the door.
Bought to keep tabs on the wife’s shoes. In all seriousness though, the action of parcels being dumped at the foot of the door and people ringing the doorbell and shooting, seems to be increasing. If this goes toward ensuring we know items are there we may be able to keep them safe. Upgraded from previous model but worth it for the downward view it gives (in my book).
As a family of Eufy converts we already owned a wireless doorbell and a variety of security cameras all linked to a Homebase 2, but the lure of a wireless doorbell with a secondary down facing camera meant a further 130 (deal price) was spent out and, overall, we’re pleased with the results. Here’s a quick-ish rundown of why:
The forward facing camera is still good quality (2K) and captures great detail (good lighting and picture quality both day and night via Infrared and spotlight). The downward facing camera produces slightly sharper images than the front facing camera, providing slight colour differences (likely uses a different lens/sensor etc.), which is fine.
The hardware and A.I. based algorithms and such allow the dual camera doorbell to offer improved motion detection compared to the standard wireless doorbell, and there are less false alerts. The sensitivity settings work slightly better and recordings capture people a second or so sooner and stop recording quicker when people walk out of range, which means more details about visitors and less memory wasted as less empty or useless video footage is stored on the Homebase 2.
As before, the local storage is the huge plus about this camera doorbell (no subscription fees necessary). It’s still slow to feed notifications to our phones and devices. Alerts appear 4-5 seconds after motion activated detection and 2 -3 seconds after the doorbell is pressed. Most (not all) legit visitors are willing to wait for the 5-8 seconds it takes to wait for the notification answer the doorbell, and those less-than-legit visitors, who won’t be ringing the doorbell(!), are caught on a motion activated recording anyway. I wish the notification speed was a little faster and noticed it was noticeably quicker whilst testing with the doorbell 2 feet from the Homebase 2, but slowed down to similar speeds as the original wireless camera doorbell once placed 5 feet away on the other side of the front door (glass and wood construction seems to affect the signal).
The BETA features (at time of writing) seem a bit weak and useless. Radar detection works and alerts of movement seemingly picked up separately from the AI based image processors, but in practise it means two alerts are sent: One saying ‘something set off the device’, and another standard notification telling you of motion activation trigger or doorbell press. The parcel detection works… sometimes. But if someone drops a parcel in the porch you get told that a visitor has activated the motion detection etc. so that doesn’t seem hugely helpful. It is early days though, so maybe it’ll prove to be a good feature. We haven’t activated the ‘Anti-Loitering’ feature as we don’t want local youths throwing eggs and the like at our house (!) and it only allows individuals up to 60 seconds grace before being told to ‘jog on’, which probably wont best please the supermarket delivery drivers.
The battery seems decent (similar to that in the standard wireless camera doorbell) and all the doorbell chime and audio settings (speaking to visitors through the app) work well.
On receiving the unit we did have issues with it not sending notifications at all. After a couple of hours trying every suggestion offered by Eufy online we fixed the issue by deleting the Eufy Security App on our phone and reinstalling it. Turns out there was a new version that seems necessary for the Dual Doorbell to work and our phone’s hadn’t auto-updated the older App for some unknown reason.
So it’s not cheap, but the ability to see what’s on the floor in the porch is wonderful (no more guessing if the delivery agent left the package our of sight of the road) and the improved AI and the resulting reduced false-alerts makes this worth the upgrade in our opinion. If only Eufy could speed up the notification alert times and make the App a little more stable it would be near perfect. Right now we’d give it 4 or 4.3 out of 5.
I did in the end return this device but only due to my needs in a doorbell/security camera, what it does well, it does very well, just shows what quality is and deserves its spot at the top end of the list and where it failed (for my needs) it did so in such a spectacular style at times, even that was impressive.
Before I start I just need to say this as unbiased a review as I can give, its down to the area I live in and some locals that highlighted features I ideally could use in cameras.
I couldn’t fault the image quality of both camera’s on the doorbell, it alerted me to a package being left at my door one day and being a night owl a neighbour bringing me some pizza at 3am alerted of a parcel being delivered. It also possibly saved me from some incidents seeing the feed from one night’s captured a stranger with a what looked like a machete walking towards my front door until he saw the doorbell camera and swiftly turned away. Where this camera let me down was the limited length in recording adter stopping shortly after he walked around the side it would be beneficial if i could have seen Befote the motion alert and after he moved away i could still hear hm on the phone but it stopped, highlighted having previously used 24/7 recording camera i needed this feature. This camera will also work better if the street wasn’t so busy and I occasionally check live stream if there’s commotion outside so these drained the battery pretty quickly, it can be wired in and did consider it. Not having to pay subscriptions was the main thing that sold it to me but realised that subscriptions are better suited to my needs. The live stream was also limited to about 15 mins so this also wasn’t ideal for me. It works with Google nest hub screens and Alexa on FireHD 8 tablet. It could possibly be my set-up but if I dare ask Alexa to show the camera feed on my FireTV 4K Max stick it started it’s show in fail etiquette freezing the splashscreen on my tv then taking my entire home network down with it and rebooted my VirginMedia hub5 router. Which has its own set of issues so couldn’t exclude this as a potential reason for rebooting and having wait the 10mins for that to finish boot sequence to get back on-line which ultimately was the tipping point when deciding to keep or return. AS mentioned this works fine with Google and mostly fine with Alexa smarthome ecosystems but as a Smartphones user found no support or integration officially supported very disappointing. THE doorbell hub itself is customisable with ringer and stored footage from doorbell and other cameras from eufy too, it worked very well on mobile feeds and notifications from my Samsung Galaxy s9+ phone which is showing its age but this being the only thing meeting my needs couldn’t justify that price for just the ringer functionality. Was a sad day and a shame it isn’t suitable for my requirements but again mentioning the image quality is amazing and the lurking detection asking people hanging around my front door “Can I help You?” and “Would you kindly, move along”
Having using the Eufy doorbell for about a month now I like it overall but it’s missing some features.
I specifically went for Eufy because I don’t believe in subscriptions for video recording that other brands require. The Eufy records locally onto the hub. It was relatively easy to install with an electrician and easy to get set up.
Some problems that cropped up:
The nightvision filter was stuck at one point, it made day time footage in a purple hue. There was no easy fix to this and I had to unscrew it and factory reset it which fixed it.
There is no constant recording option. I would like to be able to record 24/7 with it and have old footage automatically replaced in the local hub but this isn’t possible.
I bought this primarily because it is battery based and has dual cameras.
It works really well, identifying people by face recognition and any parcels left on the door step.
Only negative is that alert can be laggy by a second or two, which is a common problem for all video doorbells.
I love this doorbell. It works great, had a few issues getting the notifications to come up on time (my phone was doing some battery saving stuff and messing it up).
However be careful. My father ordered one and the neighbor opposite went mental, called the police and the housing association who eventually got a solicitor involved and demanded my Dad take it down!!!
I’m delighted with the doorbell – it’s a great bit of kit. I already have Eufy cameras and the Homebase, so I ordered the doorbell on its own to add to my existing setup.
It was really easy to pair the doorbell to my Homebase and it was setup and working very quickly.
There is a small lag for the motion alert when someone approaches the doorbell which is maybe a second but it doesn’t cause an issue and I only notice it when a member of my family walks in.
I’ve set this up with my Alexa devices to announce when someone is detected at the door and when the doorbell button is pressed, the audible alert from the Homebase is very good.
The double camera view is really good. When I play back or watch the video I can see the person arrive at the door and can see what they either post or leave on the mat.
I’ve setup the facial recognition to detect when a family member is at the door which is brilliant.
I’m really happy with i
Easy setup and great quality images. Detection is extremely good. Would be perfect if it HomeKit compatible. Battery seems good but 6mth on medium setting won’t be achieved.
Great bit of kit super easy to set up linked mine up to another eufy camera to activate together when triggered, lots of options to customise and the doorstep camera is a real bonus best bit it’s all subscription free!
I love it. I prefer Eufy to Ring doorbell. Motion detection great. I had no false motion detection. Video quality great. I love a split camera view and parcel control. There is a slight delay, but very minimal. Looks very stylish.
Extremely good doorbell, and the package protection idea is great too.
There are a lot of configuration options, and for some people probably too many, though it isn’t necessary to dig into all of them.
No lag on my wifi connection with the Eufy base station (5 metres away). No lag in seeing what is going on when I’m not at home either, but then I have a very fast internet connection (upload and download) and a good router (Synology RT2600ac and MR2200ac mesh).
I have changed over from a ring and very happy with the Eufy because of the video quality and the human motion detection hasn’t had a single false alarm. The selling point for me was the fact it has its own internal storage in the base station so you don’t have to pay for cloud storage subscriptions unless you want extra back up. My only gripe is it seems to take a while for Alexa to show the live feed where as I can view it within seconds through the app. WiFi signal tests as excellent so I don’t think it’s a signal problem.
Everything about this product is brilliant, the dual camera, the response to load up and image, the response to talk to someone, the quality of the video, the fact to can make so many personal changes that best suits your home!!!
The main thing about the eufy doorbell is that you do not need to purchase a monthly/yearly subscription to still have top quality features other manufacturers only provide on subscription.
The unit was easy to install, coming with drilling templates and screws and wall plugs. Do charge it up before installation, so that you can check the video coverage angles before drilling holes and mounting.
The doorbell can be powered from an existing AC doorbell transformer, meaning you never have to worry about charging it up, although the internal batteries will reportedly last several months depending upon the features you turn on. You will get an alert to charge the unit when needed.
Currently (as at May 2022) hoping for integration with Google Nest displays and Amazon Echo Show displays for the video feed upon doorbell ring, rather than just on the phone app.
This doorbell captures everything thanks to its additional radar sensor. I had the standard cheaper 2k doorbell before and the PIR sensor missed the postman about 50% of the time which was really frustrating. This expensive model has PIR and a radar sensor which means it never fails to pickup the deliveries/visitors, even cats. It is highly customisable so you can set the specific areas you want it to alert you to and ignore others. You get what you pay for, this is definitely worth the money. Also no subscription is a big money saver in the long run.
