Why i was asked to score ‘Scent’ and ‘Adhesion’ for this very unsticky unscented product just shows .wellsomething
It leaves next to no residue and is great for removing sticky, stubborn gunk from my metal utensils
I use Isopropanol as a lens cleaner as it leaves no residue. This is a good value 1 litre bottle.
I use a load of this stuff for cleaning electronic circuit boards or 3d resin prints. Have bought before from other sellers and it’s always been top notch stuff.
Arrived in plastic vacume packed, sealed container inside of a cardboard box. Packaged securely to avoid spillage.
Can’t fault it – works perfectly.
Really nice bottle with a child safety cap. Label has warnings. Importantly the product is perfect for electronic work and other tasks. Will definitely be buying again.
Good quality product used for tamiya paint thinner and cleaning airbrush. Excellent value for money arrived well packaged and on time great service
It does what it should.
It cleans, it smells nice, it dries up v fast, there’s a lot of it.
No faults or problems.
I use this stuff all sorts leaves things sparkling, whether you are using it to clean glass or mirrors, or jewellery. One of the things I love this for spraying the armpits of well worn clothes (as well as washing them obviously!) You know how sometimes clothes get a lived in smell, no matter however much you wash them you can’t quite shake it This solves that problem! Also for clothes that cannot go through the washing machine this is a godsend, inside leather jackets for example Just like the costume designers in theatres do with spraying vodka on well used costumes this will strip out any ‘lived in’ odours!
I use this to make hand sanitizer mixed with a few other things like aloe vera, some witch hazel and cinemon essential oils and makes an effective yet not too evil to hands sanitizer.
The bottle is strong, and contents too. Has worked for everything I’ve needed. The scent is strong but essential oils such as cinemon (anti viral) and peppermint mask the scent well and can make great air fresheners with it too.
If you know you want or need this, you know what it is. It just is what it is. Seems to be exactly as pure as they suggest. Cleans great!
Exactly as expected, product was well packaged and content was perfect. Thanks
Great item to have for cleaning virtually anything. Nice large bottle with a child safety lid.
Great size and works as expected when using with motherboards.
I bought this to clean my electricals it works well
Did the job for which it was bought, ie removing mould from a leather biking jacket.
Just what I ordered but use with maximum ventilation and face mask as a severe cancer risk
I’m not a chemist so I can’t tell but it cleans up grease marks on my printer bed really well…
I’ve had this for about 7 months and used here and there for cleaning electronics and my glasses. Scent is not overwhelming and there’s no stink at all after using it.
Because it’s such a high percentage of alcohol I have been able to wipe surfaces of PC screens and clean my gaming controllers and more without risking liquid damage, you only have to use a very small amount on a microfibre cloth or something similar.
Very pleased overall with this purchase.
Really good for cleaning blocked nozzles and printheads. Done the job and unblocked it for me now my inks are printing it perfectly. I just used the pure alcohol and syringed it through nice and slowly and let it dry till the following morning.
Used this all over my car to prep the surface for adhesion from 3m tape.
Diluted in water 50/50 and removed all traces of grease on my ca
I use a lot of this as it’s so versatile, quality is consistent and packaging good to avoid leakage. Will buy agai
Excellent, cleaned up the triange 3 track rails very well. used 3 times along with cotton ear buds soaked in the alcohol. Looking forward to passing the railway set onto my grand sons.
It’s great if you run out of vodka, mix it with some ribena and you have a great punch!!
It does what you need IPA for. Apparently the review says I could mention its adhesive qualities??? – Sure okay then, it is totally useless at sticking anything together. Just to be sure… this is not an adhesive!
Exactly what I needed. Cheapest one I found on Amazon for 1 Litre
Yeah it stinks, but what would you expect? Works just as it is supposed to though.
Pretty good stuff, strong enough to clean the junk off pipes and such in a matter of seconds.
Used to clean the Build plate on my 3D Printer, does a good job at removing oils and residue.
My HP printer was being troublesome and the online advice was that the print head needed a good clean to remove any ink residue. This was recommended so I bought some. Soaked the problematic part in a good covering of the product (in a disposable plastic cup) for 48 hours and it did the job. The printer works fine now and I hope will for years to come.
The amount of dirt that came out fixed my problems with games not booting up sometimes. I also use this solution to clean the gunk out of my old controllers. 5/5 highly recommended.
Decent quality IPA, cleans well, doesn’t leave anything behind, would recommend!
Came well packed exactly as described perfect for all jobs as described by selle
I bought this when my alcohol inks blender pen ran out and I couldn’t replace it. This is a very good replacement and much cheaper than replacing my blender pen. It appears to store well. It does smell quite strong so would recommend having a window open when refilling pens
Great for use as a general solvent and for cleaning. Very potent smell. Avoid contact with skin. Good for cleaning label glue gum from hard surfaces.
So far couple things. Cleaned up bits of older iMacs and a pc which I then set on fire.
Cleaned marks off clothes, carpets and the rest of the car they were inside. I did try to put it out with smashing another window but even with the sand content, nada.
I had fluid in a container but no use as that was for stealing car to then put into living room via front window but I ended up just sitting on the car till noticed and taking the keys.
Not a fan of the jags nor their lying, greedy, ful ton the brim of utter bollocks.
House sold so looks like other ideas will need to be dreamt up.
ISO was fine, never drank or burnt any. Cleaned carpet marks, paint off things but it’s main use is for electrical cleaning. 2011 or before Macs only and yes 2016 Copycat Lenovo did burn before we smashed a few beer bottles, sand again etc.
No denatured alcohol is %100 due to air displacement in the bottle holding moisture expect around a 97 proof do not inhale the vapours and keep well away from ignition points or sparks the product comes well packaged in a large plastic bottle with safety screw cap that is packaged in a zip seal bag then bubble wraped and the outer cardbourd box very well packed very good for removing hot glue sticky labels or general surfice cleaning around the home also cleaning of medical equipment all in all a very useful product I even use it to steralise my home brew gea
Arrived when expected. Have used a bit to clean some very greasy electrical equipment found on top of a kitchen cabinet and the grease just melted off showing it was the real stuff. I did not rate it for ‘Flavour’ or ‘Scent’ as asked by Amazon; I am not drinking it :=)
I use it for cleaning my home and the flavour is okay
Not much to say about this other than it is definitely high percentage IPA. I mainly use this for cleaning my 3D printer, and preparing surfaces for adhesives. It serves that purpose well.
The bottle has a rubber seal to prevent any evaporation.
This 1 litre IPA arrived next day as expected from Hexeal via Prime and it certainly seems like a good quality product. It evaporates to nothing which is good for ~100% alcohol. Not wanting to be picky, but the label on the bottle supplied looks very similar to that in the photo but states 99.8% and not 99.9% as shown! I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep at night now worrying about it :-))
Ok, straight of the bat. writting this review, it had a selection of stars to give Value for money, yes, I can see the relevency in that, thickness, again, it is a liquid not a gel, the other one… Get ready……. Flavour!!!!!!!! What the hell. I do not recommend you drink this, in fact DON’T DRINK IT.
Ok to the review. I purchased this to clean a guitar in between sanding, priming, spraying colour and clear coat. Everything was cool and cleaned lovely. That was until I did it on the acrylic colour. This was a huge mistake. It made it instantly sticky. I had to wait for it to dry and then sand the body down and spray another extra couple of coats of paint. So be warned on no circumstances, use this on acrylic spray cans.
Other than that the bottle is a good size and is lasting a lot longer than I thought. I initially thought I be buying them on a weekly basis. I am still on the first bottle and I have used this on two custom guitars so far and only used around a quarter of the bottle.
The liquid does evaporate quickly. The odour is a little over powering, so make sure you are either using a mask or in a well ventilated place.
I would recommend this to clean greasy finger marks off of stuff.
Very pleased with this product. I will use it for acrylic nails preparation. It’s quarter the price of nail company product and just as good. Very happy I came across it on Amazon. Definitely worth the money and will buy again.
Product was fine. It is what it says it is.
Bit slow delivery but otherwise good.
I bought this as a substitute for Slip solution for my polygel nails.
It works great and doesn’t evaporate like slip solution does.
The amount you get for the price in comparison is great too.
When I finally run out, I will definitely buy more of this.
I got this with the current situation with covid. Great for cleaning phone screens & remote controls etc. Can be mixed with aloe vera gel to make a sanitiser but I use the way if is in a small handy spray bottle. Does the job well.
This is one of the best isopropyl alcohol bargains out there. It’s 99% and is an excellent solvent for cleaning glassware (cleans up a bong a treat – just makes sure you have brushes for exfoliation), grease and sanitising stuff. This is excellent for cleaning electrical and plastic products without damaging them. It evaporates very quicky when only using a small amount.
Obviously, this stuff is quite pungent and should only be used in a well ventilated room, away from sources of ignition.
I have an SLR camera that is suffering from what is suggested to be in-built redundancy that manifests itself as, ‘Caked-In-Jam’ syndrome (grips and ‘rubberised’ surfaces become sticky as the material breaks down due to chemical breakdown). The upshot is that the device becomes unusable and destined for landfill.
Having looked about a number of sources, cleaning it up with isopropyl alcohol was recommended (along with a great many other suggestions that either didn’t work, or merely covered up the problem for a short while until the breakdown oils once again seeped through – talcum powder, I’m looking at you!)
It works a treat! A few things to remember: wear gloves. At best you will end up with incredibly dried out skin that will chap and crack. Also, DO take note of the No Smoking or naked flames advice – and you would be wise to take heed of the advice to ensure equipment it is being used to clean is electrically well grounded – yes, even a spark of static could be dangerous. In addition, the vapours are really heady stuff!
The precautions are listed on the container – it is well worth the time (a minute?) to read and understand them and their implications.
I bought a litre. Will I buy more? Definitely, as required, but a litre looks like it will last me a good while.
Would I recommend the product? Yes, 100% (110% if you are a professional footballer or team manager).
Frankly I regret wasting my time experimenting with all the other suggestions I found on the Internet (because I already had the substances available and I was too tight to splash out on buying isopropyl alcohol). I wish I had just gone and bought the stuff at the start and saved my time and effort.
On the upside of delaying purchase, the seller was real quick in getting the stuff to me – imagine how much sooner I’d have fixed up my camera if I hadn’t procrastinated so long…
Very thick, great value for money, and the FLAVOUR is out of this world! (why Amazon asked me to rate thickness and flavour of Isopropyl Alcohol which is NOT to be consumed – I’ll never know)
Jokes aside – it’s IPA. If you want it to burn, it’ll burn. If you want it to clean, it’ll clean. ‘Flashes off’ (Evaporates) quickly, as it should. No complaints at all. Must have for any home. Honestly priced too, which is refreshing in the current climate.
Bught this to use as a slip solution for polygel nails as the slip solution sold by those companies is very expensive and essentially the same stuff.
For not much more money, I have a litre and it’s excellent for the job. No loss of performance in the polygel at all.
Isopropyl alcohol has been used for years to clean vinyl records and it is useful if there is a really dirty record, but have found that a machine works best.
Purchased to use in a recently purchased Anycubic Wash and Cure unit. Once my resin prints are complete, I use this alcohol in the Wash /Cure unit and the prints come out stunning- this product removes all the residue without any problems. Came well packaged (bubble wrap sleeve and strong box. Comes with child proof came, so goes without saying that is should be kept way from children/pets. Price break was good, considering that in current climate, that surgical alcohol is hard to obtain current. Not much else to say, as it just does the job!
First things first – Never drink this, it will likely kill you.
I use it for cleaning electrical equipment and various items that are greasy. I bought some smaller empty 100ml spray bottles and have some ‘handy’ sized bottles now. This alcohol will evaporate when used, but you must be careful as it will dissolve/melt some surfaces – predominately plastic based, so if using it as a multipurpose cleaner, test areas first.
Keep out of reach of children
do not have naked flames near it, it is flammable
I have been buying the Hexel IPA for a while now no problem, but this time when I opened the box the polythene bag it comes in had a pool of IPA it, then I noticed the cap was different to normal and the bad fit caused it to leak.
This is a good cleaning product for small electrical components/circuits and can also be used for Vinyl records/DVDs/CDs and is also good for graffiti removal on metal surfaces, wipe boards even when some numpty has used a permanent marker pen.
Advise latex gloves used as will dry skin.
This product is good for the correct purpose ! I used to be able to get this from any chemist in the high street but have found it is more difficult to do so hence why I have had to order on line ! The reason for this may be persons adding it to Vodka ?!
Superb product. This full strength cleans television and computer screens, mobile phones, other digital devices in a doddle without streaking. If it is properly diluted to 70% with water it can be part of a component for sanitizing but can’t be useful strength like that. Superb product. This full strength cleans television and computer screens, mobile phones, other digital devices in a doddle without streaking. If it is properly diluted to 70% with water it can be part of a component for sanitizing but can’t be used full strength like that Excellent product an excellent value
I’ve ordered from Hexeal before and they always deliver on time and the product is superb! You cannot go wrong, and if anything happens with your order I would recommend getting in touch with them – super friendly customer service and a genuine care for the customer.
Thank you Hexeal, I have been and will continue to be a long time customer of yours!
Really useful, lasts a long time, and good value. Use it to clean stuff, and you only need a little. Diluted with gel you can make hand sanitiser with it, though look it up, it’s rough on the hands.
The review system asks for a star rating for taste and scent. Crazy, it’s a poisonous. Literally. DO NOT TASTE IT.
I’m not really an expert on this product! Bought to mix with aloe Vera gel as a hand sanitiser just before the ‘lockdown’. When things started to be panic bought at supermarkets. I have used it a couple of times, putting a small amount in the soap dispensers in my bathrooms. A little goes a long way. As for rating the taste and smell well I’ve no idea how it taste, as I’m sure you’re not suppose to drink it!!! The smell is non descriptive. It is hopefully what it’s suppose to be not having had anything like it before!! It came wrapped in bubble wrap, on time etc. Before all the deliveries started to go haywire. It appeared to be a good price for the amount you receive. I still have quite a bit left given we are now several weeks into the pandemic. You can only do what you can and hope for the best…and hope this helps! I also keep a pot of E45 beside the two main sinks, because all this hand washing plays havoc with my hands.
OK. So Amazon have asked me to rank the Flavour and Aroma…
I always like to keep a bottle of something nice in the fridge in case people come round. And at 100% (bar whatever atmospheric moisture it might absorb) this seemed like just the thing to have ready. It has a curious warm tingly flavour with hints of printing press and local garage …The aroma is light and floral, like a school chemistry lab after a spill.
When my (now blind) friend [Steve] had finished vomiting and peeing fire, he said I should have added a little cranberry juice or maybe milk to take the edge off the resultant formaldehyde in his bodily fluids …Carol fell in love with the dainty aroma and just sat there swirling it around her whiskey glass and breathing deeply at the hazy vapours. She talked a lot of gibberish, had a major asthma attack, and passed out with a Ventolin inhaler duct taped to her mouth.
I can genuinely recommend this wonderfully pure product …for cleaning flux off circuit boards …but perhaps I’ll stick with vodka for guests in future.
It’s isopropyl alcohol, or rubbing alcohol, or propan-2-ol – whatever you want to call it.
It cleans grease off of stuff like plastics without melting them (like acetone would) – but will clean most things at a pinch. I use it for cleaning CPUs when building (or rebuilding) systems, but it also works on greasy kettles, cooker hobs, and those things that have been sat on top of the cupboards in the kitchen which now have a fine layer of greasy crud all over them… this stuff (with a strong tissue/kitchen roll) will shift it nicely.
What more can you say? …Oh yeah – it honks.
It’s a volatile liquid (hence the alcohol moniker) and will fill a small room with vapour fairly quickly. You won’t notice it if you’re in there working with it, but don’t be surprised when someone comes in and says, (something like ) phwoar! what’s that! open a window you idiot…etc 🙂
I first used IPA as an electronics cleaner. It purges water, evaporates fast, doesn’t leave any residue and doesn’t hurt either the electronics or plastics. Since then I’ve used it for general cleaning, grease removal and as an anti-adhesive. It removes most stickers fairly cleanly, is excellent for removing CPU thermal paste and is brilliant for clearing up uncured epoxy, which can be quite difficult to accurately apply to small joints without making a mess.
This is specific product comes in a 1 liter bottle and although I prefer the spray, you can buy atomisers from various places or alternatively your wife’s perfume sprayer can sometimes be er, recovered and re-purposed. 🙂 Just be careful getting in on your hands as it will dry them out very quickly and whatever you do DO NOT let it get into contact with cuts / open wounds. It’s significantly worse than salt.
