Great little trailer for the bike, used to collect logs ,it’s earned its money already

My seat post is wider than the bracket that connect the trailer to the bike but all I did was get longer screws and haven’t had a problem so far I’m able to get a fair amount of food shopping in the container.

Best thing I have bought this yea

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFirst and foremost to address a few points in other reviews.

    1) the tyres are not impossible to inflate. The valve is recessed into the wheel as the tube has no air to push it out. Firmly press the tyre from the sidewall downwards into the rim and you’ll exposure enough valve to inflate. Or just use some pliers to hold the valve. Not rocket science.

    2) the instructions are in English despite other reviews (it’s just not the first page) and nevertheless, I can only imagine you’d need to be an outright fool to not understand how to tighten 5 bolts and slot 2 wheels into place!

I chose a seat post hitch trailer so I can ride in a carbon bike without worry of chainstay strain.

Super easy to assemble, literally 5 bolts total, my only comment would be the clip that attaches to the seat post had bolts just a slight bit too short for 31.6mm post, had to use other screws. No problem though.

Overall the trailer is larger, sturdier and lighter than I imagined. The tubing isn’t special nor are the welds, but having said that all feels sturdy and robust even when yeeting down stairs.

The plastic box just slots in, no retainment. Feels cheap and plasticy but it literally is a cheap plastic box so, difficult to moan.

The wheels are again entirely unworthy of comment. Plastic, spin, take the load, inflatable tyres to adapt pressure to terrain or load weight is actually helped me a few times on rough ground.

Easy to tow even with fixed gear on a dumb ratio. Suprisingly easy to forget it’s behind you on a sensible geared bike. Yeah it’s noisy and bouncy when empty but it has no suspension, it will be.

Overall, perfectly happy for about 90-120 but it won’t last a lifetime, heavy abuse, and I probably wouldn’t go bike packing with it. B&Q run so I don’t have to drive though? Ace.

Represents good value but not perfect.

This was great for our recent holiday. The instructions were terrible but it was easy enough to assemble. Took some getting used to on the bike and toppled once or twice; but once I was used to it it was great. We used it for shopping, going to the beach etc. Super handy!!!

    The Trailer:
The steel tubing makes for a sturdy trailer. The plastic container makes loading and unloading shopping easier, and the cover keeps it relatively dry.
Personally I would have preferred metal instead of plastic rims, but they seem capable enough and there has to be some compromise for such a bargain price. I’m not going to be going off-road with this so they shouldn’t have too rough a time.
    The Supplier:
I had an issue with my trailer in the beginning, but MHStar really stepped up to the plate and their customer service is exceptionally good.

Got this so I could go car free for everything thing even though I’m new to bike riding and have only been riding my bike for 7/8 week’s I decided to purchase this to do my shopping n even though it doesn’t look as large as a car boot I can easily do my shopping in admittedly I now go twice a week instead of once but I can quite easily carry all my shopping even 30kgs off dog food would highly recommend this product if go green is the way you want to go or even if you just want to save on petrol costs which I purchased this with, with the money I saved by not purchasing petrol I’m may now be able to save much on my household bills but I am on my car bills by not using it at all

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great bit of kit! Like some of the other reviewers, we have an allotment and although it’s only a few minutes’ walk away, we often end up using the car to get there if we have tools or stuff to carry up there. Well not any more! This little beauty gives us the option to ditch the car, and cycle instead!
It’s dead easy to put together, very very sturdy, and surprisingly easy to haul despite the loads it will take.
The two parts of the tow bar need to be bolted together very firmly otherwise there’s a bit of play in it, which probably doesn’t matter, but I was super paranoid the first time I used it.
I’d recommend having a test ride first with little or no load in the back to get used to it, as some of the sensations (and noises!) can be quite disconcerting, but you’ll soon feel confident. It can feel and sound quite bouncy, especially if your local roads are anything like ours.
The load carrying capacity is pretty amazing, and I love that the plastic tray is removable. This proved especially useful when some brewery waste that I was hauling to the allotment leaked everywhere, and I had to swill it out. Gross.
Yesterday I hauled 30kg of bricks in the trailer, and although it required a little more knee work than usual it wasn’t too difficult – and my journey involves a hill.
The little flip-down trailer rest can be a little tricky to operate with one hand, whilst you stabilise your bike, but it works really well and is a nice feature.
One thing that might take some getting used to is the sheer number of reflectors that this thing comes with!! Be aware that you will probably get them caught on door frames, gates, trousers, bushes, small children, gnomes etc as you move around, and they’re the only non sturdy part of the trailer. I haven’t broken any yet, but it’s only a matter of time!
I love that the trailer has the towing bar with handles, as this makes it easy to get it into position to be hitched, and also means that it can be used as a hand barrow for hauling stuff around. I think it will be replacing our wheelbarrow at home for shifting stuff around.
It’s a very smart looking bit of kit. Very well made, and great fun to use. I love it!

    My new favourite thing!

I love this trailer, I don’t drive so this has made shopping so much easier and quicker with my bike.
    Pros:
Sturdy with large wheels – haven’t had any tipping over issues with bumps in the road.
Already includes a waterproof cover and reflectors.
It is super fast to attach and remove.
Both my wheels are quick release therefore I needed a trailer that attached to the main frame below my seat, so this trailer is useable on all styles of bike.
The bucket is a good size, I manage it fit a weeks worth or shopping in there.
    Cons:
The assembly instructions aren’t very clear. It literally says- Step 2: attach wheels without any kind of guidance. I managed to figure it out after giving all the parts a look over but if they made the instructions clearer then this would be an easy assembly job.
It doesn’t fold down (this does make the metal frame very sturdy) but if you’re stuck for space then it could be an issue. The attachment bar also doesn’t fold down.
Overall for the price this was a great purchase.

I’m very impressed with this trailer. It’s strong, sturdy and well balanced.
I don’t notice the weight behind me on the flat or light hills and is more manageable up steep hills than I expected.
I have also found it useful as a cart to move things around in the garden.
It is easy to hitch and unhitch and large enough to load up with fishing and swimming gear as well as a beach tent. The cover is also strong and well designed

Enjoyed assembling. The reflectors are a bit wobbly and I had to quite improvise in order to mount them in such way that they don’t overlap outside the trailer profile, otherwise they would have been hitting everything around. Other than that I am very happy with the product so far – I have been transporting heavy bags of compost and it was a pleasure.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this trailer after looking through multiple different listings trying to work out which one was the best for me, and I decided on this one, and i’m just going to say that i believe i made the right choice!

so as far as putting it together goes, it was relatively simple, it comes with a little booklet with 2-3 different languages in it that shows you how to put it together, but its not needed at all, its pretty intuitive to put together even without the booklet
it comes with a TON of reflectors, the bolts on the reflectors are pretty loose to start with so i recommend tightening those up if you want to use them, just not TOO tight or you’ll tear through the plastic a bit, which i did but easy fix with some washers

as for how it feels to tow around? its actually not bad, as long as you aren’t going like 15+MPH there should be no issue with it toppling while empty, i’ve tried riding around with it empy and it rattles a bit, so as someone else said, some bungee cords are very useful for that!
it is odd at first pulling the 10kg’s behind you but you get used to it very quickly, uphill you notice it the most but even then it gets easier.
i don’t recommend hitting any potholes at any speed full or empty, it does jump around a bit, but that’s to be expected if ur speeding along and u hit a hole.

overall its been a godsend for me, lil miffed that the day AFTER I bought it they reduced the price by like 20, but still worth it regardless. I refuse to learn to drive and have needed a way to get weekly shopping done with the bicycle, and this has allowed me to do that with ease! it carries so much stuff
i’ve also had no issues with people letting me in shops with it, nobody is bothered, its a tiny bit smaller than a trolley when pushing it around so people don’t mind, at least here where I am.
will also allow me to get some other shopping things sorted, gardening, and taking some things down the local tip that need to be gone that nobody will help with!

    very useful, use it regularly!

This is a great little trailer. I use it for many things, fishing trips, shopping and even camping. Fairly easy to put together although as it comes with flat tyres, I had trouble pumping them up with my bike pump ( could not get the pump to fit the valve) so had to purchase another pump with the flexible valve attachment. I have noticed that when the trailer is loaded, there is a definite jerky pullback when cycling. I also had an incident where the trailer bounce ( while going at a speed of just over 10mph) and flipped over, I can understand how this might happen with and empty trailer but on this occasion it was loaded with items.

This trailer comes complete with a very strong plastic box. It’s ideal for shopping and possibly for light deliveries.

It comes unassembled, but assembly is very simple and straightforward … less than 30 minutes from start to finish. It also comes with a full set of reflectors which are easily attached. The hitch fits securely onto the seat post and the connection to the trailer is both secure and flexible. (I used a piece of inner tube between the hitch and my expensive seatpost to protect it from scratches.) One potential problem is that the towing bar might interfere with a rear carrier if you have one. Experimenting with the height of the hitch on your seat post might be necessary. It’s not too difficult to swap the hitch from one bike to another. I’ve done this a few times and it only takes 5 minutes and uses only a 5 mm Allen key.

When riding, you’d hardly know it was there as it’s very stable. Even going uphill, there’s not too much additional drag as long as you don’t overload it. There is very little chance of overturning it as long as you keep the weight low. So put the dog food on the bottom and paper towels and toilet rolls at the top and you’ll be fine. You won’t be racing anywhere while towing, so the additional weight won’t affect you too much.

My only slight criticism is that the tyres are a bit loose on the rims. This means that you have to pump them up very slowly and carefully making sure that the tyres are properly seated and centred by squeezing the sidewalls as you go. I didn’t do this the first time and the tyres came off the rim and destroyed the innertubes. If you don’t do this, you risk the tyres coming off the rims. You’ve been warned! It’s also probably better to have the tyres just a little bit on the soft side. It will cause additional drag, but not too much.

All in all, I’m very pleased with my purchase and I’ve found it very useful for many purposes.

I am very pleased with this trailer. It is a generous size and I can do a whole weekly grocery shop for one person with it. But it is not cumbersome, and in fact is narrower than my handlebars. It was easy to build and you can attach and remove it from the bike in seconds. It is lightweight to tow, but does look solidly built. I have bought a couple of small crates to fit inside the box as recommended in another review, to stop items moving about too much and keep the weight at the front, which has improved the trailer’s stability. I find the rain cover is a little tight and a bit fiddly to put on, and the reflectors don’t look very sturdy – one has already snapped off. I feel these are very minor flaws given the great value for this item. I will definitely be doing a lot more cycling now!

Quite chuffed with the troley. Super easy to assemble, and it’s easy to manoeuvre with. Weight is low for a bike troley in comparison to others I viewed on Amazon (some others I checked were around 20kg ?!?). So yeah, pretty cool bike cargo hauler.

i disliked the fact that the trailer when it is empty does not like to go fast as it turns over as i found out a few days ago breaking all the reflectors. I carnt get my head round that when i finished my ride 10km the tyres had gone down and i had to pick up shopping on the way back this made me cross and had to push my bike back the last 2 kms. The real test will be a tour of the uk when the goverment relaxes the rules the trailer is going to be quite heavey with tents ect ec

My experience didn’t get off to a great start. The trailer arrived damaged, and somehow covered in sand? Thankfully it was still totally usable and the seller agreed to refund part of the price. So I was happy in the end.

It is pretty straightforward to put together. The most tedious part is attached all of the reflectors. Despite being tightly secured, 2 of these have fallen off already.

I use the trailer to transport things to and from our allotment. It does a great job and it is surprising what you can fit in, especially when coupled with a few bungee straps.

All in all and pretty decent little trailer. Would recommend.

Assembly isn’t perfectly simple, but it wasn’t too much trouble. I discarded the opaque instructions and put it together myself. It was just common sense. And far from difficult.

For some bikes, the connector (which goes on the rear support, just under the saddle) won’t fit. It didn’t fit mine, and my bike isn’t unusual. The bolts were too short. This was annoying, but not irremediable. At relatively modest additional expense, I bought some longer bolts with the necessary nuts, and that did the job. The size you need is M8.

Now that’s all done, I put it together and today took it to Waitrose for the weekly shop. And I’m very pleased. It takes three loaded Waitrose jute bags-full – about 160 worth of groceries.

Secured the provided cover over the top of the shopping bags with three bungee cords, and set off home. Very happy with it. Pleased I got it, and pleased I persevered and got the M8 bolts.

My home-to-supermarket journey took two minutes longer than the car, cost me nothing, and improved my health through exercise. So I will go shopping with this much more often, and I’m happy with that too. In short, it’s a good product, value for money, and I’m v happy with it.

If the sellers could just provide M8 bolts and better instructions, I’d’ve given it five stars.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersTook a chance and it paid off. I my options are quite limited because one of the bikes I might use it on has non-standard rear axle so I needed one that could attach to the seat post not the rear axle. This was the only one available for sale with the size and type I wanted.

It’s really good. Bigger than I expected as well. I use it as a shopping trolley around the supermarket. I wasn’t using a car much in the town, it’s now eliminated all my town car use.

One thing that would be useful to get is a taller box that fits it. I used the box it came in for a bit but need something plastic. It’s good enough for my shopping but a large weekly family shop might be an issue for it in terms of size if not weight.

I’ve heard some stuff about low quality trailers but this is very strong and sturdy, the waterproof cover works exceptionally well. The frame is very sturdy, the connector is really good. Having the spring so it slightly bends seems to do a lot of good in keeping it smooth.

The only thing that vaguely concerned me when I got it was the plastic wheels but they seem to be really common on this sort of thing, and are fine and sturdy and I can’t see an issue with them if used properly. My hope is looking at them if it ever does come to it they should be replaceable.
And frankly if that’s part of the price for it being 70-80 instead of 170-180 it’s worth it.

The one other thing is how much weight it’s made to carry. It’s either 40kg or 50kg or maybe 60kg. Amazon says 40kg. The box I believe said 50kg and the instruction manual said 60kg (or vice versa I forget now) and that inconsistency is not good.

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersI searched the internet extensively to make a choice of cycle trailer. There are so many, in a wide range of prices and customer reviews , so it was a tricky decision to home in on this one. It arrived on time with all parts and simple instructions. The steel pressed spanner and allen key you should ignore and get a ratchet spanner, a phiilips screwdriver and some grease ( or vaseline) to protect water entering for the wheel hubs. Whenever I assemble something that will see the light of day and some rain I will spray WD40 on all the bolts etc. The residue makes it easier to adjust them later and to avoid corrosion in a few years time.

The trailer is well made. Another customer was critical of the welding, citing the fact that two welds had holes. These holes are there to prevent condensate build up within the tubular frame and are placed equidistant at the least critical weld points in the frame – so full marks for engineering design!

Assembly is intuitive and the tow bar fixing to the bike stem simple and effective. Just make sure that the fixing clamp that holds the male connector for the tow bar sprung clutch is set with enough space under the saddle to reach and press the orange coloured clutch to detach the tow bar. ( Look at my photos) Attaching ( by pushing on) and detaching the trailer is easy.

The plastic container is very strong – I sat on it to assemble the frame and it did not distort at all and I am close to 17 Stone in weight!

The tyres pump up easily once you have made sure the pump connector is fully tightened to the valve stem but its hard work using a sports type pump. They are small tyres so it does not take much to get them hard enough – I gauged them to 40 lbs.

The cover is excellent quality and fits exactly.

I am so delighted with this trailer – all that research was worth it! I recommend it to anyone who wants a robust, smart and simple bike trailer.

    Impressive value and clever desig

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a budget trailer, so don’t expect top quality design or build, but for the price it is very good. The instructions are hilarious as very obviously translated into English (badly!) and don’t make any sense, and the pictures are photos printed in black and white so it is impossible to see what is going on in them. Fortunately it is pretty obvious how to put the trailer together if you look at the picture of it assembled. You receive a spanner and hex key which are required to build the trailer, but you will also need a screwdriver and other sized hex key and spanner for the reflectors. The bracket is easy to fit to the seat post of your bike and the tow bar engages / disengages easily -you just press the large red button to release it.
Both wheels were set up to be right-side wheels so I had to take the tyre off one and put it on the other way round before attaching the wheel (there is a rotation arrow on each tyre in case you’re not sure which way the tyre should go). You will need a pump to the inflate the tyres.
The reflectors are rather flimsy, and feel very vulnerable as they stick out quite a way from the crate -I don’t give them long before being smashed so I am getting some reflective tape to put on the frame. I am also going to make a couple of little flags to make the trailer a bit more visible to other road users. I also need to put a bit of padding on the tow bar as when the stand is locked up it bangs against the bar with every bump in the road -hopefully this will cut down on some of the noise it makes.
As this is a very basic trailer there is no suspension of any kind, so everything inside jumps around a lot in transit -make sure you put the cover on so that nothing jumps out!
All in all, I am happy with my trailer…I could afford it and it does the job. It’s not the most comfortable experience towing it (we have lots of speed bumps round our way!) but it enables me to cart all my kit around without having to drive.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersGreat addition for getting more done on a bike. Bought this for shipping stuff back and forth to the allotment. Have loaded with soil, shopping and tools. It’s strong, rolls smoothly and has a great carrying capacity.
Putting it together was straight forward, depsite poor instructions. One of the bolts sheered in half when tightening, and as another reviewer commented, some of the bolts don’t give a lot of length for getting the nuts on, and I find myself checking these regularly to make sure they are not working loose. Most fixings are M6 size, simply zinc plated steel so easy to source from hardware stores, as I did for my broken bolt.
The seat post clamp seems too small and it didn’t match the radius of my seat post, and again the bolts were too short. I used longer bolts (M8 this time) and now it seems solid. Tip: align perfectly to ensure the cart tows directly behind you.
Rattles when empty, but have found no issues of tippiness so far.
Well kitted with reflectors, and and after a few runs got used to the feeling of being a longer/wider vehicle.
You do notice you are pulling it, so speed becomes restricted and extra effort needed on hills, but it’s s good workout.
Haven’t left unattended or locked anywhere yet, unsure of the best way to secure it tbh.
The rain cover seems waterproof, but is an extremely tight fit, so can see how this will wear through on corners eventually. It does have the benefit of stopping stuff bouncing out though, which is reassuring.
Really pleased with the purchase at just under 60 on offer. Worth the money.

Assembly took a bit longer than I thought as I found that the images on the instructions were zoomed in too much, which made it difficult to understand which part of the frame was being referred to. However, this was overcome by looking at the sellers page and zooming in on the various parts.
Very pleased with the product and the fact that they provide the linkage coupling, which connects the trailer to the bike.

I was quite surprised how robust it is and also seems to be a good design and easy to put together. Only used once so far but first impressions very good.

It’s very strong, but I have notice the plastic box that comes with it, has a crack in the side of the box.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersI’ve waited a few weeks to see how it performs. Given the price I’m very pleased overall. Assembly was easy enough but a few bolts were a bit short for my liking. The frame is basic (but strong enough). I have added some (cut down) hose pipe under the box to reduce noise over bumps, so the box doesn’t bounce and make a thrum and also to stop the frame getting chipped/rusting. Also ive put some black electrical tape in places to also stop the chance of rusting and put a few blob’s of grease on the bolts and wheel pins to keep it running smooth. The seat post bracket is a bit fiddly but is good overall. I have a few bikes so didn’t want the type that mounts to the rear wheel pin. I’ve used the trailer for many shopping trips and a weekend trip and it’s been brilliant to have. Nice to have the (tight fitting) rain cover which I secure with 2 bungee cords as the velcro straps are a bit of a flaff. The included relectors are basic but fine and I have a small led light on the back for better night (and day) time visability. I’ve since ordered another for my partners bike. This trailer gives me more reasons to use my bike where my rucksack wasn’t enough. I’d say it can happily carry up to 15 kilo”s perhaps 20 – I’m a happy bunny overall so thank you! 😉

I purchased this trailer to increase cargo carrying capacity however already overturned it twice from a pothole and second time from poor road surface this trailer is could do with being a little lower and wider to improve the centre of gravity overall it proves effective and convenient for carrying cargo

Use this trailer for shopping and carrying my childrens school bags to school as we cycle there! The cover could do with a few more centimetres as it needs stretching to get it on!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis trailer is AWESOME! It’s easy to assemble, it’s really sturdy, it’s just the right size – no wider than the bike, big enough for everything we need. So far we’ve shipped bags of compost, a lawnmower, loads of shopping and rubbish for the tip in it – which shows just how versatile this thing really is! Best of all it detaches from the bike really easily. So many people have asked where we got it from!

It seems to be of reasonable construction , the fabric cover was a very tight fit and I had to alter the corners of the box to make fitting easier . The tyre valves are fiddly , you will need a hand pump with a flexible connector not the car pump type , there is not enough of the valve showing to fit it . There was no info on which way round to fit the wheels , fitting as per the picture means the tyre direction arrows are wrong but it probably makes no difference .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOverall happy with the trailer, ended up looking at images of the complete product to assemble it as the instruction manual provided next to no help.

Some of the reflectors have come off already but I’ve taped reflective yellow tape to the metal frame which works out better as the side reflectors jut out a fair bit from the frame.

Really easy to cycle with, even with my single speed bike, allows me to carry all my PPE to go to work. Would definitely recommend if you need a cheap-ish trailer!

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersGreat bike trailer. The plastic bin can easily be lifted out of the chassis, so when you’re towing stuff around, and you arrive at your destination, you can just lift the whole box out and take it inside with you.

I recommend getting two 15″ bungee cords for strapping down larger loads, or even ratchet straps for even bigger loads.

I’ve found that I can actually tow a ton of stuff with this trailer, as long as I secure it down with straps and ride slow. With a light load, however, it barely slows you down. You just want to avoid having weight solely at the back of the trailer, as this will cause it to wobble and flip. I reccomend getting two smaller crates or bins to fit into the larger cargo bin (see image), so that you can put your load in the front to avoid wobbling as you ride.

The rain fly is a great.

The tow hitch is much better than the ball-type hitch on other trailers.

    Sturdy, easy to connect/disconnect, rugged

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersIn received the first trailer on time and I started enjoying it straight away. Unfortunately it went defect after a few weeks (a bearing broke). I contacted the seller who within a matter of 2-3 days offered to replace the trailer without requesting any returns from me.
I am now enjoying my second one.
Product is good, seller even better!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI wish I had bought this trailer many years ago. It is well made and is a really good useful size. So much easier than trying to push everything into bags. It attaches easily to the cycle in just one place and still allows access to my cycle bags that I still use for smaller items.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGreat product really like it but if you have nothing in it and you go a little too fast or turn a little too fast it WILL tip over and could swing in front of a car etc… As well as i think its a bit expensive for what it is.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersReally excellent. Simple to put together – I’m hopeless at these things and it took literally 10 minutes including inflating the tyres (which have standard Schrader valves, contra another review here.)

I’ve taken 3 bags of compost in one trip already, about 75 kg. And for space – got 40 bottles of wine in easily. Can get about 2 Sainsbury shopping baskets with no stacking or bungees. Could get same again if you piled it up.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersJust received my trailer this morning. It was assembled and attached to the bike in under 45 minutes. Assembly is very intuitive, only opened the user manual after I was done to see if I missed anything, and I hadn’t.

The trailer looks great and is well built. While the overview on Amazon refers to 40 kgs as the limit, the manual refers to 60 kg. The real limit might be somewhere in between these figures. I expect the heaviest loads to be demanding on the bike’s brakes.

I intend to use it mostly for grocery shopping and other ad-hoc jobs. It looks and feels perfect for the purpose.

Update: the trailer is passing all kinds of tests with flying colours.

An accessory to make my bike even more useful and fu
