Use the INS-3 to capture images at any precise angle!
I’ve been using the INS-3 and am impressed with its performance, as the detachable camera makes it versatile, the built-in microphone and video recording function make it easy to record video assignment with my voice and share with my classmates, and it delivers good quality of the video and photos for academic use! Additionally, I have found that the INS-3 works seamlessly with most webinar software, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, streaming smoothly for my different classroom needs. Overall, with affordable price point, I think INS-3 is an incredible value for money!!
This functions and is easy to use, but I teach virtually and it’s a little blurry and hard to zoom in when I’m trying to zoom in on a book/page we’re reading together. I ended up not using it for reading because it just couldn’t clearly zoom in for small print chapter books but it’s fine if you want to share a page that doesn’t contain small print.
I was pleasantly surprised with this desk top document cam considering that it was such a low price. As an online teacher completely remotely teaching students in a different state, this was very easy to use and when I travelled it was portable and compact in my luggage. I really liked that the camera piece came off of the stand, and that it had such a long chord- it made showing students outdoor areas in my greenhouse, and exploring bugs in the gardens so much easier- also science experiments were fun too with the adjustable stand and ability to zoom or pan out. I have recommended it to several of my coworkers who were looking for an affordable doc cam to use in their online learning environments as well. It was compatible with multiple computer setups and easy to install and update.
I wish when the deport stand would be just with 1 more future – to be flexible between right and left without the base. BOT IT’S A TOTAL GIFT. Undeliverable how much ezer thing going.. thank you
This is a small but mighty document camera. I downloaded “Documente” on my laptop and we were good to go. Great camera, easy to use, stable, very portable. My only problem is that I am unable to adjust camera rotation from within software of Wyzant. With Zoom there is no problem. So this could be a Wyzant problem but I still wish that the camera would give me that maneuverability. Overall, a great product.
Given the price point for this camera, I wasn’t really expecting much. My old flatbed scanner was being recalcitrant and didn’t want to reinstall when I reinstalled Win10. After many muttered profanities I realized the old scanner WAS old, and didn’t have current drivers. Also having a really cheap webcam I decided a multi-use item was what I wanted.
I was rather pleasantly surprised by so many things upon receipt of this newfangled gadget:
– limited but sufficient packaging so not much of an environmental impact, but enough to protect it during shipping;
– small set-up guide in an age where they’re even leaving these out to save money;
– sturdy base and design (not industrial-grade, but it feels like it’ll hold together for a long while);
– no media in the package, rather go and get the latest version from their website (which makes sense), and this turned out to be a quick and easy installation (no muss, no fuss);
– a surprising amount of well-done documentation on the website, AND it is easy to find;
– the software that comes with it only takes a few minutes to master, but if you DO run into a roadblock there are straightforward videos to help you out.
I’ve only used it for about 15 minutes but I already feel like it will do everything I wanted and possibly more. It even does the document scanning I need it to – easy and with decent quality.
Now if I can just find the setting that will help ME look better ON camera…

Okay, so it’s a couple days later. Right after posting the initial review I found a few documents on my desk I had to ‘scan’ in. It was as easy as my out-of-box practice, and I’m still surprised at how clear the document comes out. While it isn’t quite as seamless as a flat bed scanner, it’s better than I expected (it takes longer to set up, and you may want to crop borders, etc.). Still, I’m quite happy with it when used to scan documents.
Yesterday I had an all-day virtual exercise to participate in and I used this camera and microphone instead of my usual setup. It performed beautifully.
My old microphone is bigger than this whole unit but wasn’t necessary as I was told I came through just fine with the pin-hole microphone on this little camera unit.
At first, I wasn’t pleased with the camera resolution, then I remembered I’m in a dark basement – so with the addition of a single light with a non-glare bulb and that was taken care of.
Again, all-in-all I’m still quite pleased with this little camera. I’m even more delighted with the amount of desk space I get back after removing that big old flatbed scanner!
I don’t know much about document cameras but I wanted one to use for teaching online. I have only used this product a few times while teaching, but it has been very helpful. I had an issue with figuring out how to download the software for my computer and the support team was very quick to help and give me more information.
Would recommend this product.
I dislike focus time wile switching cameras in ZOOM. Would like to be able to rotate camera horizontally via software or manual without moving base (for sharing reading or craft work. Works Very well, for the price. Thank you!
My current camera in school is showing all my documents in green. It also takes so much space. This one is perfect!
I NEVER write reviews, I am not lying and I am not being paid for this review. I usually just take my buys and move on. But this one I must say is going to make my life easier, when I teach my second grades.
I don’t need a lot of functions with document viewers. Basically, I just need to show what I write on paper to students. Chromebook-compatibility, zoom-in, zoom-out, white-balancing is enough for me. Plus, Ins-3 is not fat and ugly; too many document viewers are too big and make them useless.
Ins-3 does what I need it to do. Compared to other ridiculous pricey counterpart products, the price of Ins-3 is really reasonable; plus, its quality is better than most bubble-priced counterpart products.
Satisfied with Ins-3, I’m also planning to try Ins-2.
Bought with several scanners to get images of odd shaped objects and larger docs to be scanned. Worked better for first goal than second. Returned other items, kept this one because price was right and options for use made it worthwhile for me to keep. I scan a lot of things for documenting purchases, phone camera works for many, but not all. This device can help fill in the gaps (for me).
