Because it is still connected by the cable it is difficult to use and as such you have to be very close to the extension or plug

It would be far easier to have a second person using this on you if it’s on you rather than trying to use it on yourself

It does work and it does seem to solve some you solve some of the problems however you do need to shave before you or you use i

This IPL hair removal device is good value for money – it is high-powered and produces red light waves at 610-1100nm. The device is fairly convenient to hold but perhaps not as easy to hold as those that have a pistol-grip. With the device, you get the AC power adapter and a pair of safety glasses.

The hair removal area is quite large and is therefore excellent when used on the body. What’s missing is an adapter that you could use to make it more convenient for use on small areas.

I have been using this for around 6 weeks now, at first I thought it was a lot of faffing about but persevered and it became part of my routine, twice weekly I would shave my legs and then use the IPL after a couple of weeks I found I only needed to shave once a week. Six weeks on I have noticed a huge difference. It’s quite a pricey investment but I would say well worth it if you are willing to keep it up and have patience.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe “IPL Hair Removal Device” from Shineland is a corded Intense Pulsed Light (“IPL”) device for providing permanent hair removal to specific areas.

In the box you get the IPL device, its charging parts, a pair of protective glasses, a razer, and an instruction manual.

The included instruction manual provides details of how to use the device, with the usual bucketload of caveats. The English is a tad broken in the manual, however, it’s pretty obvious how to use the device. To be honest, this Amazon listing pretty much tells you all you need to know about its operation.

My partner has been using the IPL on her legs for a few weeks now. She found it took about 20 minutes per session to use on both legs, although she’s sure that time will become quicker the more accustomed to the IPL she becomes. One thing she did point out was that when using the IPL over tattoo’s, it stings like a biatch, so probably try to avoid such areas or use the IPL on a lower setting.

The IPL device provides you with one-million flashes. That’s more than enough for most people, and in fact, twice the amount from other IPL’s we’ve trialled.

In use the IPL device is very simple to use. It only works when held flat against the skin, so the bright flash works directly on the required area. I felt a slight warmth with the flash but that’s about it. No discomfort or anything.

You do need to use this regularly and over a good few months to receive the results you’re after. So, for the first month you’re using it every-other-day, then month two you’re 2-3 times a week, then month three you’re as and when required.

After a couple of weeks my partner could tell it was beginning to work. The hair on her legs was coming back at a far slower rate and with a finer look to it. She’ll obviously keep going to hopefully finally permanently smooth legs without the need to ever shave them again.

Although this is corded unlike my much more expensive Philips one this is still very impressive for the price as is obviously much cheaper than the ones of similar strength from the main brand names ones and other than for the brand name and familiarity with those more expensive options the other extra you’re paying more for with the well-known models is slicker packaging and a slightly more refined finish on the unit perhaps and in this case also it’s probably also a bit cheaper due to not being completely hands-free like the chargeable more pricey ones so it has to be plugged in but really isn’t an issue for me to be honest so worth the saving if looking for a budget option like this as otherwise seems to work just as well on the highest setting for me (as long as your consistent for the correct period) so would recommend as a great budget option which is still effective.

Shineland at Home IPL Hair Removal for Women Permanent Hair Removal Device 999,999 Flashes for Face and Body, Corded

Very compact little device, lovely simple and elegant design. In the box you receive:

    – 1x IPL hair remover
    – 1x Manual Razor
    – 1x Safety Glasses
    – 1x UK Plug

Very effective, this is pretty time consuming at first but stick with it because its so worth it. I stuck to the timeline as advised and after 8+ weeks I have noticed a definite reduction in hair growth and less need to shave. I used to notice hair regrowth 1 day after shaving but now my legs feel smooth for days. Going to continue with it and hopefully be Hair free in the next 4 weeks. Amazing device. Would recommend to everyone, game changer.

    Review from my wife:

I’ve been using this product for four weeks now, and I have already seen some impressive results.

The device is well made, sturdy and durable. It has a nice design that is easy to hold and use. The LCD screen is easy to read.

There’s no pain involved in the process—it’s very gentle on your skin(it’s more like pinching), and there’s no redness or irritation afterwards.

It’s recommended that you use the device for eight weeks to achieve optimal results, so I will update if there is anything to mention once I have completed eight weeks of treatment!”

I hope this review helps you to make a purchasing decision.

I recently purchased this IPL epilator. At first I was slightly skeptical, I didn’t know what to expect, only that expectations were far exceeded. Most importantly, the thing that made me buy it is that the number of pulses at an IPL is actually the lifespan. It is very easy to use and comes with a pair of goggles (which I think is great, especially the ones I initially didn’t want to use, but they are really necessary). I didn’t feel anything when I used it. It is very important to shave before, because if the hair is big, you feel a small pinch, nothing painful or unbearable, incomparable with the classic epilator. I know that this product must be used many times to give results, but at the moment the only improvement I see is that the hair is much thinner and thinner (I come back in 2-3 months when in fact the final result should be seen). I say it’s worth the investment and I recommend it!

Big number of pulses with simple and fast using

I’ve got to laugh at myself and honestly probably expecting you the reader to join me. I’d been putting this off for ages thinking I’d do something to hurt myself with this device. Oh the imagination was running wild.

Will say from the get go that the video in this listing is helpful so there’s that. I shave every week and have always wanted to try this method but didn’t know where to start. So I did my usual shave and then the cool glasses went on. You do need the cable in, the pictures are a little misleading. I jumped the first time the light flashed but apart from some warmth I felt nothing. Not me melting in this summer heat and then doing this haha.

As to the results I will have to report back to you. I plan to do 2 times a week for the weeks needed then going down to once a week. It is quick! I’m sure I’ve missed places but I’m not too worried. Now I know that there’s literally nothing to fear I’ll happily carry on my shave and pulse lol! If this is a great experience I’ll probably branch out from the legs but for now I’ll stick to where I need it.

This set comes with the IPL hair removal unit, and a pair of sunglasses for me to protect my eyes during the hair removal process. It is a relatively easy to use one and the cover area is approx 4.3cm square for each click. It is suitable for almost all hair colours and skin tone as stated on product description. My hair is black and I mainly use it to handle the underarm hair. I can see the hair gradually reduces after 4 weeks of usage and I am happy with the result and will continue to use it.

Love this type of machines much more affordable than going to saloons to have expensive therapies.
This product is well made and easy to use.
Noticeable effects after a couple of weeks, been using it on my lower back and definately works, needs to be applied more times on the beginning but then less times are required.
It can get warm on operation and has a fan to dissipate the heat, still its not painful can just feel a small pinch on some areas but that’s it, perfectly safe, no marks ir burns left on the skin, just apply some soothing cream after.
Useful and pratical device, totally recommended!
Comes with safety glasses and a razor.

For a about a third the price of the big brands this IPL device offers great value as it’s performance lives up. It provides minimal instructions on how to use it but with a bit off YouTube I’ve been able to get positive results. It hurts a little bit to use, mild tingling burning sensation. After a couple weeks I’ve already seen hair regrowth go down substantially and hope it continues as I use it further. Will update the review if anything changes!

This is a nice compromise if you want to get a removal device that works well without paying the price of a branded high street product. This is pretty easy to use with it 5 strength modes. You also get a glasses and a cheap disposable razor. It’s a nice looking device that is comfortable to use and you are getting something like a million flashes so it should last for a very long time. It’s mains powered so you’ll need to be near a socket to use although it’s reasonably generous in length. A decent device.

I ordered this for myself as I am sick of unwanted hairs in unsightly places usually my chin, and thought I would give this ago instead of plucking. I am not sure if it works yet as I have only used it a handful of times as per the instructions and haven’t used anything similar before.

It comes very well packages and for the prince compared to other similar units it is very reasonably priced at 66.49 (current price). It says the this IPL laser hair removal device offers permanent, painless hair laser removal for face and body. with 999,999 unlimited flashes, so it must last for quite some time. It is very easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow.

The following review was provided by my daughter:
On the plus side this IPL Hair Removal Device is pretty much as painless as it gets. Its also very comfortable to hold and manouver and can get to all those “more awkward” areas. Its all appears well made and doesn’t get hot to the hand or skin when in use. On the down side though I found that I needed to go over my legs several times before I could honestly feel that it had achieved anything you could describe as permanent hair removal. Stubble would grow back in numerous patches after several days. After three or four weeks of use though these patches are all but gone, with just a couple of persistent returning areas. Legs are smooth and skin is soft and healthy looking. Well worth the money overall. Now for my husbands back….

It comes packaged neatly with everything you need

I have never tried this kind of hair removal before so was a bit sceptical at firs but after a few weeks use now it’s certainly working and no pain involved

It seems to have so many uses then it won’t work but it’s 1000,s

I will continue this to see good results hopefully

Came very well packaged and looks professional. You get the device itself, an instruction manual, glasses and a flimsy looking razor – you might want to use your own.

The device itself is easy to use and once you get your head around it, it’s fairly straightforward. You get a number of flashes and have the option to get it to manually flash or automatically – the device has to be on skin to flash at all though which is a nice safety precaution.

So far, I’m happy with what it’s doing! I can definitely see a reduction in hair growth but will need to use for a lot longer to notice some big changes. You have to be patient and consistent with it.

Check that your skin tone and hair colour matches the recommendation before buying otherwise it might be incompatible for you!

All in all, this is a much cheaper option for laser hair removal but it does work. Would recommend!

Easy to use device at a good price - so far so good!

This IPL hair removal device comes with charging cable, instruction, protective glasses and shaver. So its everything you need to start your IPL treatment. Instruction is very informative and explain everything very clearly. Also it comes in multiple languages so its very helpful if english isnt your native language.
Device is easy to use. It has two buttons to operate. You can see the numbers of click that left for this device and increase or decrease power depends of your needs. I have it for couple weeks and still waiting to see results. I can notice that hair are growing back a bit slower and slightly less but it is still long way to make it permanent hairless area. Also I had to make a break because you can tan treated areas so the best time for making your at home IPL treatment is winter.

Easy to use IPL hair removal device

I was curious and interested to try this, as I’ve never used an IPL device for hair removal before.
I started on a small area to see what it was like. The device comes with a blade to shave, which is necessary before using the device. There’s also a pair of safety glasses to wear for when using the device as well.
The most important thing to note is that this isn’t an instant thing, it takes time. I’ve been using this a few weeks, and the results have only started to show. Limited use each week to prevent any unwanted irritation, so I’d be wary of this. Doesn’t say how long to use on each area for, but moderation is key.
It says results will show after 8 weeks, and that’s reasonable, considering this will save you a lot of time and money going forward. You can also do this in your convenience at home, which is great.
You are meant to avoid some areas with this, which must be noted, because there could be harmful effects, hence why it is stated.
Personally, I would use a bit of lotion or moisturiser after each use to soothe the area.
Powered by mains, but the cord is relatively long. Easy to use and easy to hold, which is great.
The panel is easy to read as well.
69.99 (20.00 off voucher on 89.99) is a reasonable price. A bit too late for this summer, but maybe for next summer, since this is meant to be permanent hair removal. I would prefer there to be a bit more clarity on the safety aspect, since there looks to be a few concerns by the manufacturer themselves, so a bit more information for the customer would be of great help.

I ordered this IPL hair remover for my wife as she didn’t like using her epilator anymore due to the pain involved.
This device comes as a set including a disposable shaver and some glasses to protect the eyes when using the laser unit. The inclusion of a shaver confused me at first but after reading the manual, the hair needs to be shaved before using the laser treatment, I guess this is so that the laser can concentrate at the roots.
The unit itself is very nicely made with clean smooth lines and is comfortable to hold. The actual laser is listed to last for just under a million flashes so this should last for a considerable time.
At the time of this review this is listed at 89.99 but also has a 20% voucher so that brings the cost down to a very reasonable price for a unit of this quality. I would have preferred this to be cordless but that increases the cost and requires the battery to be charged frequently so maybe the plugin option is better in the longterm.
My wife has been using this on her legs for the best part of three weeks and she tells me that the hairs do seem to be coming back weaker each time. According to the included manual this device takes around eight weeks for best results so if anything changes I will update this review at that time but so far this is performing very well and has been totally pain free.
Terrific low cost IPL treatment for the home.
    Recommended.

I have been using epilators or waxing before as I have got a thick growth of hair so when I got a chance to order this IPL device, I was keen to try it. firstly you had to remove the hair by shaving, a shaver is provided though it is of mediocre quality. after that, you can use this IPL machine. Please do the instructions fully before trying the IPL as it shows results only when done fully right. The instructions are clear The device has 2 modes and 5 power levels. I started off with the lower levels and then slowly progressed forwards. I have only been able to use this device a couple of times so haven’t seen a marked change yet but am hopeful that with time it will show prominent results.
For a fraction of the price of the leading brands this device does seem to be well built and of good quality. I am hoping it will save me both money-wise and pain-wise from different hair removal techniques so can definitely recommend it.

The following review has been provided by my silky smooth wife:
I’ve been wanting to try one of these for ages, but was a little reticent as I’m not a particular fan of pain…but I decided to give it a go, and was amazed to find it completely painless. Very easy to use, nice and comfy to hold, and reasonably priced. It’s not suitable to use on certain types of skin, so check this before you buy, and also mustn’t be used on sunburnt or damaged skin. It takes about six weeks before the hair disappears completely, but after just a couple of weeks I’m already seeing some results. Worth having if you hate having to shave every couple of days or so, and much less messy and hopefully more permanent than the traditional waxing.

Firstly you have to shave the chosen area which you want to use the hair remover device on ( shaver is actually included its not very good but its a nice gesture)
Instructions are very easy to follow and I didn’t find this massively painful, maybe just a little tingle every now and then. Don’t forget to ear the goggles included.
The hair remover isn’t a miracle worker and does/will take a few goes to completely stop hair growth. I have noticed a big difference after 3 goes on my legs and I’ve got dark hair which grows back so quick.
Very happy with the results so fa

    IPL Hair Removal.

Your are committing to an extensive schedule to get the best from the device, each usage recommends going over the skin 2-3 times, and for the first 4 weeks you should do this once or twice a week. Given the area impacted by each flash is quite small (3.5*1.2cm) its a slow process. At this stage I can’t vouch for its effectiveness.

In terms of usability the device has quite a long power cord (1.8m) so you should be able to use a convenient socket. You only get one pair of protective glasses, so you need to shut yourself away whilst using the device. As you need to press the windows against the skin, the weight of the IPL (275g) isn’t too much of an issue. The device seems to be well made and claims 1m flashes lifespan for the bulb.

The instructions are quite detailed and include colour pictures – copious safety and recommended usage information is contained in the 9 English pages.

Device arrives in a sleeved cardboard box which has product details printed on. The device is held in a plastic tray. It includes the main power adapter, IPL device, disposable razor, green tinted glasses and instruction booklet.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis IPL by ‘SHINELAND’ has massively helped to permanently remove underarm hair from my wife, I bought this for her on her last birthday and she’s undergone a full treatment.

It’s worth noting that the device does need to be plugged in to use but don’t let that bother you, chances are you’ll be doing it somewhere comfortable like on your sofa anywhere.

My wife has light coloured skin and dark blonde hair, and it works perfectly, there is a handy chart if you scroll through the pictures which shows which hair/skin types it works best on.

You need to use this over a period of time for it to be effective, decreasing in regularity but still frequent use.

This does what it states in the instructions and everything you will need is included in the box, including safety goggles.

This is quite a delicate process and you must wear glasses to protect your eyes and also take a lot of care while doing it.

Works on both men and women, and it is important to follow all of the instructions and process provided.

Arrived very well packaged and with clear instructions.

I have been using this Laser IPL hair remover for the last 2 weeks now and wow. I am super impressed The first time I used it I was a little scared I’d hurt myself so only used it on a level 1, but quickly realised it was totally painless and was comfortable. I’ve used this on level 5 2-3 times a month since then.

You have to shave to prepare your target areas before using it, which is no big trouble really. There is absolutely no pain, sometimes you feel a zap-like sensation if you’ve missed a hair when shaving, and maybe a little singe smell but it doesn’t hurt at all. I use mine on the auto setting, I set the device to my first area then press the button down to do the first zap, but keep holding it down whilst moving it up to the next area, this activates auto mode and it will go off every few seconds so long as it’s flush up against your skin, which is also a nice little safety feature.

I have been using it on the lower half of my legs, my arm pits and my chin/upper lip area. It takes around 15-20 minutes to do all areas, legs being the most time consuming, and as I say above, I do this 2-3 times a week as recommended.

Unlike waxing this doesn’t leave you in tears and is actually a lot faster. You can do it in the comfort of your home also so no need to travel to achieve that amazing shaved skin feeling. Also, despite the expensive upfront, you won’t need to repeatedly spend money on treatments. So actually for you are looking to save money this would be a good choice.

Flash wise I started with 999,999 and currently have 989230 left, it will last for years and years so long as it doesn’t randomly break down at some point.

My opinion is that it is worth every penny, treat yourself!

    5 stars!

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

This is a neat little gadget that is a painless way of getting rid of hair.

It is quite smalland so easy to use anywhere on your face and body.

It doesn’t instantly get rid of hair and I found that I needed to use it a few times before I began to notice a more obvious hairless state.

I cannot compare this with a salon or any other IPL gadgets as I have never used one before.

You can control the modes and power levels – it has two modes and five power levels. You should read the instructions carefully to choose which is right for your skin type and kind of hair.

I have been quite impressed with this and feel it is good value for money.

This kit contains everything you need to get rid of hair.
My wife has started using it and first warning, wear the glasses! It is so intense it reminded me of an arc welder.

This unit is not rechargeable if you just look at the pictures as it uses so much power to zap the hairs away.

She said you need to shave first otherwise you will get that burnt hair smell and then put this on your leg, press the button and slowly move it.
It has a fan which whirrs into life and the laser flash is very intense, almost like a camera flash from the 80’s which makes the whining noise while it’s recharging.

It’s a bit early for the results but I can’t see how it’s not working as no hair has return yet.

Very good device, time will tell

This is an IPL laser hair removal device.
It comes well packaged and suitable for gifting.
The unit itself is a nice glossy colour and feels good to hold in your hand. The LCD screen is very easy to read and shows how many remaining laser shots are in the machine.
To use you have to shave the parts you want to laser first. Then put on the glasses and laser each part at a time. Sometimes you get no feeling and some it feels like an elastic band snapping against the skin. I found that the painful bits were over scars.

It takes months for this to start showing a good effect so you’re too late for this summer as you can’t sunbathe either whilst using it. It also takes several months for the results to be noticeable.
I tried one of these units similar before and I have up but I’m going to keep going with this to see if I get good results this time.

So far overall it’s a good enough unit for the price. I’ll update in a few months.

Using the instructions included I found this hair remover very easy to use. Once put into auto mode you simply press against the skin and it produces a flash.

On the display there is a counter which counts down from 999,999 which is the number of light pulses the device can give before it runs out.

This at Home IPL Hair Removal for Women Permanent Hair Removal Device 999,999 Flashes for Face and Body, Corded arrived nicely boxed, so would be a great gift idea.
It is a very generous set with shaver, sunglasses etc.
The device looks and feels well made, sturdy and durable.
I like its simple and elegant design.
It is corded, the cord is quite flexible, so shouldn’t be prone to damages, but I wish it could be a bit longer, as I had to be close to the socket /extension lead in order to use it.

It is straightforward to use, I had similar devices in the past.
I found it comfortable to grip, hold and use even for longer.
Lamp has so many flashes that it won’t need to be changed.

I have pale skin with dark hair, so it was an easy target for this device.

I use it on my legs for last two weeks. It is quite long process to cover all the legs as lamp is small, but definitely worth it. I couldn’t treat both legs in 5 minutes as stated in the listing description.
The strength of the lamps is adjustable.

I’m sure that on the end I will achieve the same results like in the cosmetic salon, but it would take me a bit longer but it would cost fraction of the price.

It didn’t cause any skin irritation.
I use it according with the user manual on the automatic mode.

Effective, easy to use and reasonably priced, so I would happily recommend this hair removal system.

As I’m South East Asian I’m blessed with having very little body hair anyway, but I also have slightly olive coloured skin, so appreciate these work best with lighter skin and darker skin tones. I have used a far more expensive branded IPL before so was keen to try this out, as it’s less than a third of the price! Although I’m also wary that this is a laser, so safety comes first!

The unit itself looks nicely made, overall it doesn’t have the same feel as a top end branded IPL, but the business end where the laser is looks well constructed and that’s the most important part.

In use this is very simple, combination of long and short presses to switch between strengths and auto / manual mode. Having used one of thee before I’d always recommend starting at the lower setting and starting in sensitive ares first, as over time these do get a bit warm and that will add to any discomfort (the things us women do eh!). Of course if you find this really uncomfortable stop! But if you’ve done this before then you’ll know there’s a little flick of pain every time you press that button, but no more than a someone flicking you with a tiny elastic band (certainly less intense than waxing!).

It’s early days and only time will tell if this works as well as the one I’ve used in the past, it will take a a few months to really see the results, but once this starts taking effect you can reduce it’s use to once a month at the most

    hope my review helped

My daughter’s review “Important to check this is suitable for your skin/hair colour. This is very reasonably priced as some IPL systems are very expensive. Comes with a shaver and goggles. The device looks well made and it looks good. It is comfortable to hold. It is easy to use and painless. Early days, but pleased with the results so far. I am confident this will do what I want it to do and if does not will return to upgrade the review”.

A nice looking machine in gloss black that feels good in the hand and is easy to use.
It has five levels of intensity. Be sure to start with a lower one until you know what level is good for you.
For the first 4 weeks you can use it 2-3 times a week and then drop it down to once or twice a week for the next 4 by which time it could be permanent or just need once a month.
The display tells you what mode and level are selected and how many flashes remain.
Comes with pretty good instructions (also worth reading the description page), protective glasses and a disposable razor.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our Usersat Home IPL Hair Removal for Women Permanent Hair Removal Device 999,999 Flashes

    An introduction to IPL:

From what I have read this is a convenient, safe and pain free way to perform hair removal in the comfort of your own home. If you are unfamiliar, IPL stands for ‘Intense Pulsed Light’ and it works by:

The cells with melanin in your hair follicle absorb the multi-wavelength flashes of IPL which subsequently converts to heat which damages the hair follicle. The hair then shuts down and enters a resting phase. So, you see slower growth and eventually, many fewer hairs growing; this is hair reduction in a nutshell.

As body hair grows in cycles, many treatments are needed to slow down and reduce re-growth so sadly this isn’t a quick hair removal solution. It requires commitment to see results – and even then, for some people, laser hair removal isn’t entirely permanent although the hair that may grow back should be finer and less noticeable. It is also advised that maintenance treatments should be used to keep on top of any potential re-growth, so yeh, this is effective but a long term commitment.

Professional laser hair removal prices can make your eyes water more than waxing – hence why these home IPL devices are becoming more popular and more affordable too. This product is priced at 89.99 which is a vast reduction considering when they first appeared on the market, they would be into the hundreds of pounds. Other more premium brands can cost much more than this yet do the same job utilising the same principles of IPL.

When things reduce in price, especially beauty products, I start to worry that the performance and/or safety features have been reduced. As I have never used one of these before I have nothing to compare it too, so this product is my first attempt and here are my thoughts….

    THE PRODUCT ITSELF….

The packaging is quality and looks very professional, the sturdy white cardboard box is wrapped in a sleeve. The outer sleeve looks professional enough, although here lies the first contradiction as it states it is “safe – fast – effective” having not used it, I cannot yet comment on the effectiveness, from what I have read, this is generally a safe form of hair removal, but ‘fast’ it is not – this needs multiple treatments over several weeks before you see results, have to start somewhere I suppose.

After removing the lid from the crisp clean box you will find a detailed instruction manual. A ‘quick start’ instruction sheet for those who are familiar with these plus ther is also a handy record sheet for keeping a tally of uses.

The device and accessories are all neatly bagged and nesting in the plastic covering.

    ACTUAL CONTENTS..

    Standard plug

Razor is a cheap fixed head razor – the kind I used when I first started shavingand still have the scars to show for it

Goggles cheap looking and very thin and flimsy and seem fairly pointless but essential

IPL device looks sleek and professional wrapped in plastic with rose gold detailing. The device feels smooth and comfortable to hold although it does feel a tiny bit top heavy so I’ll need to be mindful that it doesn’t drop out of my hand when using. There is an on/off button and above this is a bigger button which you press to launch the flash.

    To use –

When first plugged in, the display screen flashes then reads ‘off’

Press & hold on/off button for 3 seconds to switch on. The cooling fan kicks in and sounds fairly loud, like a hand held fan, this is needed to stop it from overheating (which apparently they can – I think) The display screen reads how many flashes are left in total on the device – note, mine said 999,985 and not 999,999 flashes so I’m presuming the discrepancy of 14 is from the quality control check when the device was assembled – Handy that you can see how many flashes are left.

Also on the display is the level that you have selected – this is increased by pressing the on/off switch – need to go up to level 5 to come back down also the fan icon will be spinning to let you know the fan is on – which seems a little pointless as you can hear it but I do see the advantages if one couldn’t hear this.

I’m presuming that when the ‘level indicator’ stops flashing it’s good to go – it took no time at all to heat up. Holding the device vertically, you then place it against the skin and press the larger of the two buttons – and press the larger flasher button to start – note the flash will not go off unless the device is held against this skin, this is a safety feature to avoid accidental eye damage. You then move the device along the area to be treated using small movements pressing the flash as you go. You could also use the ‘auto’ function, to do this simply press and hold the launch/flash button for three seconds (the display will show three dots) this enables you to move along the area of skin without having to press the flash each time as when placed against the skin the flash will go off automatically. To resume to manual, simply press the flash button for three seconds again.

When products have shoddy instruction manuals it makes me question the quality of the item and being a complete novice I found that I needed clear and concise instructions and this was very poor and at times contradictory. I appreciate there may be translation errors and of course the odd spelling mistake can be forgiven but if proof reading is ignored this signals to me that there is a lack of attention to detail and then this doesn’t really bode well for me regarding the product itself, but, putting these reservations to one side, I did perform a patch test (on my husband;) and I can confirm that it was indeed pain free (trust me, he’s a man, his pain threshold is zero) I was very hesitant at first and only tested on a very small area and on level 1 due to never having used this kind of device before and was pleased to find that not only did it not hurt but there was no irritation or swelling nor did we experience any singeing, although we did shave the area first, as apparently, not doing this can cause the hair above the skin surface to burn with each flash causing stinging and singeing. After this test was complete I’m now happy to continue using this for myself 🙂

There are SO many safety precautions regarding usage ie; you shouldn’t use it when taking certain medications, when pregnant, nursing or menstruating, you shouldn’t use it if you use tanning beds, use sunless tanning products and you can’t sunbathe 5 weeks before using it or 5 weeks after using it (although that particular precaution worryingly is contradicting, from 2 – 5 weeks according to what factors I wonder, there are more precautions which I’ll list at the end, which is why you really must take time to read these before use.

Here are a few of the main cautions when using a home IPL hair remover

    Do not use:
On skin around the ears, around the eyes and on warts, moles or large freckles.
    On tattoos
When menstruating, If pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding
    On varicose veins
On open wounds, infections cold sores etc
Moisturiser or deodorant as this may cause a reaction
If fitted with a pacemaker, neurostimulator, insulin pump or over silicone implants
If taking certain medications i.e painkillers which reduce heat sensitivity, immunosuppressive medication, anticoagulant medication
If you have certain medical conditions i.e diabetes, congestive heart disease, immunosuppressive diseases including HIV or AIDS or epilepsy with flashlight sensitivity.
If unsure please check with your doctor.

    Possible side effects, amongst others:
Burns, swelling, blistering and redness which may cause infection
    Scarring
    Skin patching

It is best to only shave before using the IPL device as hair removal creams, waxing, epilation and plucking removes the hair follicle and due to the device needing to detect the pigment in the follicle, this will render the treatment ineffective and pointless.

Guidelines can differ in how long to avoid sunbathing before and after using a home IPL device from as long as 5 weeks to as little as 48 hours, in fact, the advice with this item contradicts itself according to which page you are reading. On further investigation I found that this precaution is due to the fact that natural and artificial light increases melanin in the skin, so using IPL after exposure to the sun may cause an unwanted reaction which could cause damage to the skin, such as, blisters, burns and temporary/permanent skin darkening/lightening and scarring. The same precaution is advised for sun exposure after using this product as it makes skin extra sensitive meaning you’re at more risk than usual to sunburn and it’s side effects. This is a lot to consider and leaves me pondering the question as to whether I want to be tanned or hair-free as it would seem, for a few weeks at least, I cannot be both!!

Overall I’m happy with this product but I’m very wary of the possible side effects and as such won’t go all out initially, lets see how things progress, for the price, it’s a good buy and is much cheaper than the premium brands that do the same thing.

    Recommended.

Before you click on the buy now button best to read some other notes I’ve made below to ensure this product is right for you…

Here’s a quick summary, it’s not an exhaustive list so check with the manufacturer and/or your doctor if you’re unsure.

Before you buy a home use device such as this always check:

You match the safe skin recommendations
You’re not pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding
You’ve not recently sun tanned or used tanning creams
You’re an adult. Some brands say over 16 and others over 18

In your treatment areas, don’t use it on:

Nipples, genitals or around the anus
Ears or around eyes / eyebrows
    Male beard
Dark brown or black spots such as birthmarks, moles or warts
    Varicose veins
Damaged skin e.g. sunburns, cuts, open wounds or active infections, cold sores etc
    Tattoos or permanent make-up
Active implants such as pacemaker, neurostimulator, insulin pump or over silicone implants
Areas you use long lasting deodorants on

Don’t use it if you have a medical history of:

Conditions such as diabetes, congestive heart disease, history of keloid scars or poor wound healing, epilepsy with flashlight sensitivity, bleeding disorder, immunosuppressive disease including HIV or AIDS
    Sensitivity to light
History of skin cancer or pre-cancerous lesions
Radiation therapy or chemotherapy in the past 3 months
Surgery in treatment area in the last 3 weeks
Chronic skin disease e.g. psoriasis or vitiligo
A skin peel (within different time frames given)

Don’t use if you’re taking or have recently taken these medications:

Painkillers, which reduce sensitivity to heat
    Immunosuppressive medications
    Anticoagulation medications
Medications which make you sensitive to light e.g. Retin A, isotretinoin Accutane or other topical retinoids

Always check your medication instruction leaflet to see if photosensitivity is a listed side effect.

Side effects of home laser & IPL hair removal

As with professional treatments, there are some very rare side effects with home use laser & IPL devices. These generally occur when the intensity is too high for your skin. You should wait until your skin heals and returns to normal before doing another session at a lower intensity.

Here’s a list of possible but rare side effects. If they don’t fade within the times detailed below, go see a doctor.

Burns, excessive redness and swelling around your hair follicles, should disappear within 3 days
Skins patches should clear up within 2 weeks
Blistering, small bubbles on the surface of the skin,. They should disappear within 1 month
Skin infection can occur, especially after a burn or skin irritation
Scarring, usually following a burn that takes longer than 1 month to heal
Folliculitis is swelling and pustules around your hair follicles caused by bacteria in damaged skin. Go see your doctor immediately for treatment.

As with professional treatments, you increase the risk of these side effects if you expose your skin to the sun before or after your sessions. So follow the tanning guidance!

    Tanning guidance

If you sunbathe regularly, or spend a lot of time in the outdoors you must take care of your skin whilst using home devices.

IPL / laser hair removal and tanning don’t mix for two big reasons.

Safety: The combination increases your risk of skin reactions
Effect: Tans your skin so you’ll need to user a lower power intensity level. The higher levels are most effective.
To protect your skin and keep you safe, the device manufacturers provide warnings and guidelines around fake tanning, sunbathing and sun exposure.

I hope I haven’t put you off but it’s best to know all the ins and outs of this treatment which I’ve had to find out before I used it.

My last IPL was a bit on the weak side, even at the highest setting after a few months of daily use, I was still getting hair coming through. It helped, but not the panacea I thought it would be. This one seems to be a lot more powerful and I can only use the highest setting on certain parts of my body.
It only takes a few seconds to power up and the time between pulses on highest setting is just a few seconds. It comes with a fire on button press or auto fire when adjacent to the skin. The auto fire is a little flaky and many times I have to lift and replace it to get it to fire. The lead length is not great, but if I am stood near the socket it will reach under arms.
The build quality is good, comfortable to hold and comes with glasses to protect against the pulses of light and a razor. The glasses are a must as the light can be blinding.
After a few weeks of use, I am noticing a difference. Slower growth, some follicles have stopped producing hair. I am pretty confident that in a few more weeks, I will just be on the maintenance phase. I don’t think I will ever be free from a razor, but with a lot less hair coming through, shaving is less irritating on the skin and quicker as there is less, and finer hair.
Probably better makes out there, but this is effective and not at a stupidly high price like the main branded ones.

So, IPL devices can be very effective.

Much depends on the colour of your skin, hair and the intensity of the IPL and of course time of treatment.

What’s nice about this one is that it has a clear and easy to adjust settings screen, a number of filters for different areas and what I particularly like is the continuous operation mode for large areas as you can just move it over areas without pressing the trigger each time.

The upgraded cooling should help keep the unit going longer but I would recommend giving it chance to cool for a few minutes here and there.

Time will tell if this has been effective but IPL generally is a proven technology.

The instructions are very simple: 1. Shave the legs (razor provided). 2. Power the unit on (with real uk plug supplied). 3. Wear protective goggles (again, supplied). 4. Use against skin – you get 5 different energy levels, dependent upon your skin sensitivity – start low and work up if no bad reaction. . 5. Keep a record of usage (record sheet supplied). It is recommended you carry out 2 – 3 treatments a week for 8 – 12 weeks for full effect. You are warned not to sunbathe for 5 weeks before or after treatment – presumably the tanning action interferes with the operation of the unit. This is all very well thought out, though the restriction on sunbathing might be a deal-breaker for some. n.

Designed for domestic use, despite the not very large surface of the lamp it is comfortable to use on all parts of the body, even for its not excessively large dimensions.
Reliable and good ergonomics and handling, supplied with the glasses to preserve the eyes.
The action of light is practically painless.
You have maximum freedom of movement.
The result is optimal and I have a noticeable hair reduction in a short time: the boby hair growth is getting thinner and more scarce.
    Compact and essential design.

Love the unique colours that is used for this IPL. It comes in gloss black and rose gold the first ive seen of its kind. Included is a disposable razor which is used to shave before using the device, glasses for eye protection as the laser is bright and reasonable length power cable.

Very easy to use product that glides over the skins causing no discomfort. You can change the intensity of the flashes as there are 5 modes. I have ivory skin tone and dark hair and was very happy with the first use, im looking forward to seeing the end result in four weeks.

The device is designed in way that you can use easily and by yourself as it isnt heavey like other IPL systems i have used in the past.
It is suitable for legs, armpits, bikini line and face.

Overall, I would definitely recommend and extreamly happy!

    Nicely packaged.
    Lightweight, easy to hold laser.
Comes with everything you need for treatment (even a razor!)
So far I’ve only done a test patch as I’m going on holiday so will start the 8 week process when I return.
I’m really hoping to see a difference particularly with my strawberry legs.
I’ll update once the treatment process is complete.

No complaints so far … (only had a few days)

I have limited space in my dressing table area so this is great as it’s compact . It’s very comfortable to use due to the shape and size, the buttons are on the top so very easy. The instructions are simple to follow. I like the fact you get glasses to protect your idea. Saves lots of money compared to salon treatments , will take a little time to stop the hair growth just as it does in the salons. A very good price as I will get a lot of use out of this.

Once a week and I have noticed significant hair regrowth. There’s a few here and there and this week was like a couple. So I can honestly say the product works. I haven’t used other brands this was the first one I tried ever. So cant compare with other name brands. I would recommend it. if you’re a bit sceptic like I was, just go for it nothing to lose except hair at this price! Plus you won’t be disappointed. No need to spend an arm and a leg to get laser done.

Great for painless hair removal, the device does emit heat and some people are more sensitive to it than others for me it was totally pain free , my daughter however found it uncomfortable but I think that will pass.
The nature of the device being IPL means that it might cause problems and blistering if used over tattooed skin
I have found it overall pleasant to use and look forward to the result at the end of the course of treatment.
The area I am focusing on for this first treatment is the underarms.

    Pain-free and easy

Delivered in its own branded box

Inside sits the IPL hand held unit , a razor ,( to shave your hair down first ) a set of eye protector glasses , the lead for the unit and a small instruction manual .

The IPL device sets of lights that attack the hair at the riot gradually killing it off to stop further growth .

It’s simple to use you plug the lead in and place the device I er the area of skin you want , making sure you wear the protective glasses . It can take up to eight weeks to see the full effects of IPL so I will update this review with results after it’s been used 4-5 times

I’ve even waiting for an IPL suitable for light hair for years this one is exactly that ! . This IPL isn’t suitable for people with darker hair .

Priced just st under 80 it’s a lit cheaper than other IPLs I can’t wait to see if it delivers in its promised results .

Finally an IPL device for fair hai

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am very impressed by this IPL.
The package is impressive, I like the fact that it comes with a glasses to protect my eyes.
The device looks and feels like a quality piece of kit, it sits comfortably in the hand, is not too heavy or awkward to hold, and the buttons are on the top and easy to reach when using it, whether you are left or right-handed.
This device will save me a small fortune on beauty salon trips for IPL treatments and because it is quick and easy to use, I know I will stick to using it regularly and am looking forward to having smoother hair free skin without the mess and bother of regular shaving or depilatory creams, or the discomfort of epilators.
