This set of kitchen knives comes really well packed. The block is actually really heavy. The knives are sharp and there is a sharpener included which is on the corner of the block. The knives have a nice weight to them and look smart. With the 10 voucher currently they are only 30 which is a brilliant price.
A great kitchen knife block that has everything you need
The knifes come in a little separate box and each knife is individually packed safely
I really like that you get a pair of scissors included which come in handy when cutting meat
The block also has a built in knife sharpener so i am really impressed with it
Good quality knives that cut through meat like butter
All types included and slot into the block with ease for storing
Would recommend
Very sharp and well made. There’s a good selection too. You can feel the quality
From opening the package it was seen that the items were very well packed plus good looking. It was on testing the sharpness of the blades, by cutting pages of newspapers without ripping each cut, that the quality of the items were found to match their looks..
A well produced and easy and comfortable set of Kitchen Knives that will be a joy to use.
Great , solid knifes , looks great , wooden holder looks beautiful . the set has everything I need , even stake knifes
Value for money very sharp and it has a full tang which makes it virtually unbreakable
I like these kitchen knives, very sharp and easy to use. They’re quite expensive but you get your money’s worth.
Good quality knife set had to sharpen before use using sharpener provided doesn’t take long once done once set to use wife likes the lightweight knives.
Overall quality is very good i use them for general kitchen work at home
The blades keep their edge well. Comes with a steel.
I’m using this set for more than a month now. And I can’t be more satisfied with this.
Very easy to hold and operate. just glide through things and good holder to store as well. Very well balanced as well
This product is extremely performant. Value money is definitely a winner. The blades are not the sharpest ever but it can easily fix with a sharpener stone or just using the sharpener it brings as part of the set before using the knives. Really good looking and ridiculously cheap as a set comparing with other kitchen knives.
Really nice super sharp blades with hollow crap handles, I mean why not make solid handler and charge another 10% rather than make the product inferior?
I have received this knife block to review on behalf of Amazon. It arrived promptly and well packaged.
Like anything with knives in from Amazon now, I had to provide date of birth and such upon delivery.
The knife block is a nicely finished piece of wood, with a multitude of knives to accompany it.
Pretty much every knife needed in a home kitchen. The knives are beautifully made and finished with wooden handles.
I have been using them for some weeks and found them to be an essential part of my kitchen.
As a side note, the instructions say not to put them in the dishwasher, due to the handles, but again, I have been doing just that for some time.
Excellent set.
Was looking for a decent Knife set that doesn’t cost the Earth…. This one ticks all the boxes.
Good quality knife set, very sharp and very comfortable handles also look great.
Nice and sharp with nice handles that give you a good grip.
It’s a good set easy to use easy to clea
These knives fit snuggly into a wooden block and are a bonus to any busy kitchen. There are so many knives that i don’t actually use them all. I decided to put these knives to the test for several months before reviewing the product.
My absolute favourite is the large Chef’s knife, this glides through meat effortlessly and I use this all the time, it’s great for slicing through raw chicken breasts, but do watch your fingers!
We have also tried and tested the steak knives and were impressed with them too, I managed to cut up my steak with minimal effort which was a bonus.
I haven’t yet needed to sharpen these knives and some of them have had lots of use.
I do struggle with a decent knife for chopping vegetables and I must admit that I am still struggling with finding a suitable knife for this.
This knife block is excellent value for money and to complete the set you get a knife sharpener and a pair of multifunctional scissors.
This is a solid knife block containing 17 different items, a variety of cooking preparation knives, 6 steak knives, a knife sharpener, and a pair of kitchen shears.
The knives are all well made, well honed and very sharp (as you would hope from a brand new quality set of knives!). They are balanced well, so easy to grip and use.
Understandably for a bigger set, the knife block is quite large so takes up a decent amount of room on the counter. It has 4 rubber feet so doesn’t move once placed which is always helpful.
I’m very impressed with this set.
Weight and quality in the hand feels good.
So far the edge is keeping well and happy with the selection of knifes, and added bonus that this set even comes with 6 steak knifes which I’d not usually take in a set for a knife block but must say they are great to have there for safe storage.
Handles are sleek and grip in hand is great, can not fault the build quality of the handles or blades.
One point to stress if your planning to use the steel to sharpen the blades make sure you watch some YouTube videos on knife sharpening before even attempting. I’d not say a steel was for domestic use anymore but that being said I prefer it he edge left from the steel than one of those knife sharpeners that you pull the blade through and make it feel sharp but it’s only made it rough and not sharp.
Keep a good edge on the blades, little and often sharpen them rather than getting to a dull stage and try bring it back.
Wood knife block itself is heavy and nice finish in the dark wood stain effect.
Happy to recommend these for any household that knows how to use a set of knifes when cooking.
I love cooking, and part of my enjoyment of experimenting with ingredients and flavors is having GOOD tools to cook with. At 60 this is not a supermarket cheap set, BUT it’s also not that expensive when you consider it includes 17pcs (approx 3.53 each?!)
The knife block/stand is SOLID wood and looks and feels great quality. Certainly stable enough to hold the knife set. The Steak Knives are a nice touch, and I have so far worked my way through about half of the knives and have been VERY impressed.
So far no need for sharpening, and they are holding up to daily use and abuse in the Kitchen. It’s a great set!
Me and my wife love this set of knives. The knives that my wife has been using regularly are the Santoku knife and the chef’s knife. They are my wife’s favourites. She used them to cut vegetables and mince meats. Cutting through meats with either one of these knives are so effortless by sliding and pulling the knife towards you. No need to put any downward pressure. The cut meats did not stick to the knives.
My wife has small hands. She found these knives are of the right weight for her and the handles of these knives are easy to grip onto to, so she could apply force easily when cutting and chopping. No need to use force.
The handles of the knives have nice shapes. There are no hard edges on the handles, only round edges, so it feels good holding these knives. The knives are sharp and the steel of the blades is strong.
The pair of scissors which is the other item which had been used frequently by us. The pair of scissors are sharp and they are so versatile. they have special features which allow them to be used as open bottle opener in two ways.
We also had the chance to use the bread knife which has a blade with serrated teeth. Cutting through crusty loaf was so effortless by moving the blade in a sliding motion, the blade will cut into the bread. I didn’t have to put any downward pressure, so the loaf was not crushed and the sliced bread remained fluffy.
We have not had a chance to use the sharpener, boning knife, paring knife and steak knives. However, we noted that they are of the same quality as the Santoku and Chef’s knifes, so are looking forward to make good use of them.
I believe the star of the knife set is the wooden knife block because it makes putting your knives on show in the kitchen acceptable by hiding their sharp blades. The knife block does not just look elegant on the kitchen’s worktop, but it is functional; It keeps the knives organised and make them easily accessible.
After washing my knives, I leave them out to air-dry on my knife rack. I would use a dry cloth to remove any residue moisture before returning my knives to the knife block to keep them in good condition.
Because this 17 piece knife set looks so good, so we want to treasure them by taking good care of them and look after them after each use, so they last longer. Use of these knives in the kitchen have made food preparation a joy for us. I would recommend this set of knives to you. 5 stars.
A very nice and stylish 17 piece set of knives that appears to be quite robust and durable
They’re reasonably well made and extremely sharp, comfortable to hold with nice and smooth handles
The knives are made from stainless steel with hard wood handles and comes with an ok wooden block for easy and safe storage, they’re very lightweight with thin blades which concerns me very slightly regarding the longevity of sharpness, this is where the steel comes in for regular sharpening although I prefer to sharpen on a wet stone system
There are some reports of slight rusting, however, I’ve not seen any up to now
It’s an all round decent quality set but it could do with a little more care when manufacturing the block
The price seems reasonable and it would make a lovely gif
The 17 piece set comprises of: block; 8″ Chef Knife; 7″ Santoku Knife; 8″ Bread Knife; 8″ Slicing Knife, 5.5″ Boning Knife; 5″ Utility Knife; 6x 4.5″ Steak Knives; 3.5″ Paring Knife; 8″ Knife Honing Steel; 8″ Carving Fork and Kitchen Shears. The block is well made and sturdy and all of the blades have their function scribed on the metal – which is helpful! Great value and the knives are very sharp. This is a good set and will suit most homes and budgets, I really like the way everything g has its place in the block and stays tidy.
We recently disposed of our 18 year old knife block and knives, they were never particularly sharp and only a couple were ever used.
This new set has very well made and sharp blades, and a near complete (there’s no meat cleaver) set from which to choose. I particularly like that there are six steak knives included, I can hardly believe I’ve made it to retirement and never had a set before. No more hacking through a cheap cut with a blunt plate knife… In the main knives, each has its use engraved on the side, a nice touch.
I particularly like the meat fork, it’s very robust and much stronger than our old one, and with a far more comfortable handle. And it’s nice to see the knife sharpener too, we used to have one when I was a child but I haven’t owned one since.
The handles aren’t quite as good as the blades. The metal of the blades is slightly prominent on most of them, and this is more noticeable on the steak knives. The scissors are really sharp and include a bottle opener and lid clamp, but the handle finish is relatively poor when compared to the rest of the set. This is moulded plastic and there are raised edges where it’s been separated after being taken out of the mould. I’ll probably need to file the inside of the handles a little to remove the burrs on the plastic.
The wood block is ok, it’s a bit odd looking with different colours used, presumably it’s some kind of composite, but it looks quite good in the kitchen with all the knives in place.
It’s good to have a large set with pretty much everything you’ll want for the kitchen in a single block. At 60 currently I think that these are appropriately priced for sharp and robust knives, with the inclusion of extras such as the fork and knife sharpener.
These knives seem to be aimed at the keen amateur rather than the professional commercial cook, and for that, they offer a lot for a very reasonable price (down a tenner to sixty pounds at time of writing). If you intend to use all or most of the items regularly, this set can be recommended. The stainless steel blades are carefully ground and finished, and made in the traditional way with bolsters, butts and all the features needed for safety, balance and longevity. Each blade has the maker’s name, knife function and metal composition laser engraved near the handle. The scales of the handle are. I think, some hard dense plastic rather than wood, and they feel comfortable to hold. The rivets are ground flush to leave a smooth surface. All of the blades are extremely sharp. The set seems to be oriented towards meat preparation, with carving knife and fork, boning knife etc. and this theme continues with a set of six steak knives. These are constructed differently from the kitchen knives, and don’t have quite the same quality feel, but they are all right. They would double as general-purpose serrated knives, especially since one isn’t included in the set. The multipurpose scissors feel and look rather ordinary. All of the knives, including the scissors, steak knives and sharpening steel are kept in an attractive acacia block. This is built-up from pieces rather than a solid block, and the slots go through to the bottom. They are rough internally, but this is not a big issue. Four rubber feet protect surfaces and keep the block in place.
This knife set includes a huge variety of knives, scissors, meat fork and sharpening tool.
The wooden block is good, strong quality and looks very elegant and premium in the kitchen.
The knives are well packaged on opening, with a cardboard sheath, plastic bag and a plastic point guard.
It’s not obvious where all of the knives fit as there were a few large holes and I not as many wide blades, but it all fit and every knife had a place.
The knives are incredible sharp and do a great job at preparing a variety of meat and vegetables.
It’s a little more expensive than I would normally pay at 59.99 but the quality is incredible and so much better than a cheap, basic knife block you get in some retailers.
This is a brilliant 17 piece set that comes with a high quality, heavy, wooden knife block that fits all 17 pieces and does not take up much room on the kitchen worktop. All 17 pieces are excellent quality and very well made. The knives are ultra sharp and have very good handles. Can highly recommend this set!
I had a set of knives that were 14yeads old and required replacing. Being able to get these really had me excited.
They arrived in individual wraps and cardboard sleeves, protecting the edge from any damage in transport.
The block is made of a nice solid singular piece of wood with perfectly sized holes for each different knife.
Each knife feels of a good weight and the handles are comfortable to grip and hold.
The set itself is made up of a chef knife, a santoku knife, bread knife, carving knife, a utility knife, boning knife, paring knife, scissors, a meat fork, knife sharpener and six steak knives.
They all look great, sat neatly in the block. The only issue I have identified is that there is a slight trace of glue/adhesive where the plastic casting on the handles attaches to the metal. This varies a little from knife to knife but does not affect the blades. I believe this will likely wear/wash away over time so it is a minor issue.
For the current price of 59.99, these are a true bargain. If you are in need of a decent set without breaking the bank then I recommend this product.
This set came well packed in in two boxes. The wooden block was in bigger box and the all the knives were in the smaller one. Each knife was packed in its own hard paper cover to avoid any damage or accidents. The ones with sharp/pointed end had extra plastic cover to cover these parts.
I think this set should meet most of the demands of a domestic kitchen. These are forged knives not stamped so are strong. 6 Steak knives should be enough for a regular size family. The edge of all the knives is sharp. The handles are easy to hold and go with the style and usage of the knife.
The only let downs are the kitchen shear and the fork. Kitchen shear quality is not up to the mark and feels cheap. I have replaced it my better shear (and it fits the block). The fork is a bit deformed, it is a slightly bent towards right.
The base block is solid and has rubber feet.
At 59.99, it is reasonable and competitive in price. Looks great on our kitchen countertop.
The main part of this set are the kitchen knives. They are useful for most purposes — chopping, slicing and cutting. They are solid and do not flex like some cheaper knives do.
These knives are a nice weight, well finished and each knife seems to be well balanced. They are good and sharp and there is a handy sharpening steel which comes as part of the set. I prefer these over the handy collection of kitchen knives we have accumulated over the years.
The addition of the set of steak knives is also a helpful touch and they do the job you would expect them to do.
The knife block that is provided is good and solid and sits well on the worktop. Overall a great set of knives at a good price.
This knife block set by Acoqoos is really good and is pretty good value at 69.99 (price correct at the time of writing this review)
The set comes in a branded box and each knife is individually wrapped to ensure safety when removing from the box. Inside the box you’ll find the knife block, this is quite smooth on the sides and top, but not quire finished off at the bottom where there are a few rough edges, but as it won’t be getting moved about and is not noticeable, this isn’t an issue for me. The block has four little bumps underneath to prevent slipping
The knives however are made to a high standard and are really sharp. Included are a chefs knife, santoku knife, bread knife, slicing knife, paring knife, utility knife, boning knife, honing steel, carving fork, pair of scissors and 6 steak knives
Each knife is made of quality stainless steel, forged high carbon X50Cr15 and have been manually polished to ensure sharp edges. They have a full tang design, triple rivets and natural ‘pinch grip’ with a double steel bolster design for balance, strength and rigidity plus the handles are fully ergonomic and comfortable to hold
These knives are not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher as this will warp them, instead hand wash straight after use, carefully drying and replace back in the block. These knives should be honed and sharpened on a regular basis to keep them sharp and its recommended to use a chopping board at all times, you could find marks on your worktop if you don’t
I used the steak knives last night and was really impressed with how easily they slice through steak, so much better than my old ones. The scissors are really sharp and easily cut through most materials and although I’ve not used all the knives yet, the ones I have I am really pleased with, they’re really sharp, slice through easily and are really comfortable to use. I am happy with the knife block and set and have no hesitation in recommending i
When I first saw this, I thought “70 for a set of knifes! Thats a bit steep” but when you really look into it, this is not a bad deal for 16 knifes.
Yes thats right, it is 16 knifes / utensils. The 17th is the wooden block that holds them, which is slightly misleading as it makes it seem like you have 17 knives / tools.
Overall the quality is good. They come well packaged and are fairly sharp. I did give them a good sharpen when they arrived though. I wash these by hand as the handles look like they might go a bit funny in the dishwasher.
The block itself sits very sturdy and each slot is designed for a specific knife so you have to get it right an make sure they go back into the same slot or they will stick out a little.
Its difficult really to quantify a good knife, but these seem sturdy, well built and for 70 you get everything you would need in the kitchen, and a sharpener to keep them fresh! Not a bad deal I would say.
This set comes in a cardboard box which has a least amount of packaging within so I was impressed with that. There is a sturdy block that the knives live in and it has small padded feet so the box stays in place. You have a knife in here for just about every use I can think of, they are very sharp and ready to use. I haven’t had new knives for a long time and I was shocked at the sharpness of them, so take care when using for the first time. Recommended
This is a good set of knives. They look attractive, with the tang of most (excluding the steak knives) extending beyond the black handles, matching rivets, and steel bolster to add strength and protect the fingers.
They arrived pre-sharpened, and they were extremely sharp upon arrival (see video showing the common sharpness test of slicing through a piece of paper).
The steak knives are micro-serrated, as is common. The two smaller paring/utility knives are a good size for fruit, cheese, vegetables, etc. The knife they call a “slicing” knife I find useful for carving meat, and the chef’s and santoku knives, my favourites, are all-round useful blades for general kitchen work.
The carving fork is huge and impressive in appearance, though it’s less useful than a normal size carving fork for picking up smaller pieces of meat you’ve just carved, etc., because it is so large!
It is too early to say how well these keep their edge or how well the handles hold up, but the handle rivets seem sturdy and handle materials typical, so they should last well with hand-washing (they recommend against dishwasher use).
The only slight reservations I have about this set are that (1) the scissors are rivetted rather than screwed together (see photo), which may mean they loosen over time and cannot be tightened, and (2) both the sharpening steel and scissors have plastic handles, not the more solid handled the other knives have, and the moulding on these plastic handles is not finished to a high standard, with injection moulding flash/seams showing.
Overall this seems to be a good and reasonably priced knife set.
This knife set is great it has all different variety of knives,
Also in the box you get a stylish wooden knife block to stand your knives in and it also comes with kitchen scissor’s too. It looks great in our kitchen. They are very sharp and cuts well through meat, bread, vegetables and fruit.
I definitely recommend this to any one looking for a new kitchen knife se
Sets of kitchen knives with a stand of a very beautiful modern design. The set is placed in a branded box which contains all the necessary information for the buyer. Everything is packed safely and efficiently. Instructions inside the box. The knife holder is made of durable wood, it has a pleasant natural wood fragrance, moisture and wear resistance. It looks very stylish and presentable. The dimensions are compact, so it is easy to find a place for it in the kitchen. The quality of the stand is perfect, gluing, painting, everything is cool. It is stable on the surface. The knives are made of high quality and have a uniform design, they are made of stainless steel. The handle has an anatomical shape, comfortable and ergonomic, when cutting and shredding the knife does not pop out, even if the hand is wet. When using the handle does not rub, does not slip. Also, the handle is heat-resistant for each knife and is protected from friction. Stainless steel blades that are resistant to corrosion, even with regular use, the sharpness of the blade will remain. Style, convenience and comfort. I like them very much.
The knives and block come in a full-colour printed sturdy cardbord box. The wooden block is smoothly finished with chamfered edges and has four little rubbery feet to help to stop it slipping on the work top.
The set comprises the block, a very good sharpening steel, a pair of kitchen scissors, six steak knives, a long-tined carving fork and seven other different kitchen knives. All the blades have their function inscribd on the metal.
The blades are very sharp. I mean, sharp. Whether it is the paring knife, the boning knife, the carver or whichever one you use, they are honed to perfection. The tang of the blade extends the full length of the handle. The balance of the knives is such they do feel a taste light in the hand but they are comfortable to use. There is a stop between the handle and the blade edge, which is reassuring. I’ve had too many kisses from unguarded blades but feel this set is safer for that attention to detail.
The steak knives seem to be added to fill a space on the block as their finish is not quite up to the standard of the ‘working’ knives. The tang extends to the end of the handle in exactly the same way but is a little proud at the handle end, where it makes itself known to the hand. The metal of the tang stands out perhaps 0.5 – 1mm on each of the six blades. It would grind down if it is bothersome. The scissors are multifunctional and incorporate a bottle opener, a snip for wire or trussing twine and a double metal grip at the hinge for opening small screwtop bottles. The scissors are not especially comfortable for me and the handle rubs on my thumb but I can live with that.
This is a comprehensive set of knives in a solid wooden block, would make a wonderful gift for a new kitchen and is not expensive.
This is a lovely set of knives that look great in our kitchen. The holding block keeps them all secure and displays them to great effect. Pretty much every need is addressed, even a pair of scissors are included.
This set is currently priced at 69.99 which comes out a little over 4 per knife which seems very reasonable.
All the knives are very sharp so I’ve yet to try sharpening any of them. Once I do, I’ll get a better idea of just how good the steel is. I’m sure the steel is good quality, but if not, I’ll be sure to update this review.
