1.Find your original charging cable and power adapter from Oculus.
2.Connect the original charging cable into the charging port of MT005 link cable, and then insert the original charging plug into the socket.
3.Connect type C of MT005 link cable with Oculus headset. At this time, you need to confirm that the headset is being charged now.
4.Then plug type A of MT005 link cable into the usb3.0 port of computer.
The main point is to ensure the charging state before you plug the type A of the link cable into the usb3.0 port of the computer.

Works perfectly for keeping a charge while playing for excess of 4hrs. Definitely would recommend the cable to any quest 2 user. I don’t have a VR capable PC as of yet but I’m sure it will work as advertised for that as well.
I have a quest 2, this cable keeps it at 100% for hours and hours!!!! If you play vr for an extended period of time this cable is for you. And if you’re concerned about the speed of the cable, I’ve noticed zero speed difference from the oculus brand link cable.
works as well as a link cable should! I love how it charges would recommend!!!
This is a nice long cable that keeps the headset charged while you play. Does exactly what you want it to.
Makes your wireless VR setup wired again but eliminates the anxiety of wondering if you’ll run out of juice mid-game
This is a great way to get a little better performance as it injects power into the headset while on USB. it has definitely helped with some lagging and stuttering issues that I was having
I was using the official link cable but my quest 2 battery wouldn’t last long. With this cable plugged into PC and a USB C charger not only does it maintain but also charge while you play. Highly recommend!
I’ve put a lot of hours over several months on this thing and it’s still holding up great! My last one failed within a few months. This thing is getting the job done! It works just as advertised and always keeps the headset charged up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the batter drop under 70% and I’ve played for HOURS at a time. Highly recommended!
This is a first impressions review, so things may change, but going from not even getting two hour sessions (followed by hours of charging) to being at 95% battery after a full two hour session that could have gone many more is unbelievable. The cable itself is nice and thick, could definitely do with braiding, but it doesn’t feel flimsy either. And unlike my last link cable, it’s *actually* USB 3.0 as advertised, lol.
Carga muy bien y detecta la pc rpidamente, rara vez no carga pero solamente es de volver a enchufar. Me gusta lo largo que es ayuda mucho al jugar no estorba
Cable is long, durable and keeps my system charged properly while quest linked to my PC. Exactly what I was looking for. No more 3-5 hour limited play sessions through other cables or air link.
Works well for what I needed—keeping my oculus quest 2 charged up on long gaming sessions. The cable feels more beefy than a typical usb cable but that’s to be expected for 16 feet of cable.
Definitely get this if you’re sick of the oculus’s short battery life but don’t want to pay $80 for the official oculus cord.
I’ve spent the past 2 years playing PCVR sessions only being able to go for 4 hours then having to leave my friends to charge my headset for another hour and a half. It was such a nuisance for long hours of play to have my battery die constantly. This cord literally changed everything for me though. The minor inconveniences such as of being a cord and stuff is so minuscule for me. I’m getting 2.4gbps speeds and it’s faster than my other knock off cord. This is amazing I love it so much so far and my battery hasn’t gone down below around 82%
Before this cord i could only play games for maybe 3 hours on the quest 2, then have to charge the headset, now with this i’ve never run out of charge, it seems like it verrrrry slowly drains to about mid 70-75%, then seems to get more power and will charge back to 75, sometimes a little higher and basically stay there indefinitely
It works, finally solved my charging issue. Only annoyance is you have to plug it in correct order everytime.
Pretty worth it though for infinite power.
It’s very sturdy and useful only thing does pick up dust easily(maybe I should dust my room) but other than that 10/10
I can leave my quest hooked up full time without the worry of it over heating, doesnt affect quality at all when connected through steam
Bought for 16 year old son for quest 2, works exactly as its suppose to hours of my son held up in his room playing for hours without an issue due to batteries draining because of this product absolutely purchase this
habe zwar eine Quest 1,aber trotzdem, die gund Funktion funktioniert supe
Very nice durable feeling cable. I like the length of it and works great with my oculus quest 2 highly recommend this produc
Purchased in may of 2022 and it worked great till december of 2022 when it started with random disconnects. Messaged through their listed email with no response. Went through amazon’s ask the seller a question form and got a response within the day and they honored the warranty. My guess is they dont use the email. Hopeful the first failure was a fluke. Will update this review as time passes. Even with the failure its hard not to recommend this for the price and ability to play endlessly.
This cord is a must have for playing vr! Before I could only play vr for about two hours or so, now with this cord I can play for as long as I need to! Definitely great to have. Highly recommend this cord to everyone that needs one.
I got this so I could have a smooth experience playing PC VR on my quest 2, and more specifically Half Life: Alyx. Works as intended. The cable feels solid, which is good, but also not as flexible as some out there. So a bit of a trade off there. For me, i forget about it pretty quick once I’m in game. I’ve only played for a couple hours at a time so far, but the quest 2 usually has nearly full battery when I take it off, so I’m happy with it.
I absolutely love this thing. I mainly use it when I want to play for long periods of time and happen to be laying down in VRChat. Todays session was great, I was able to play for 6 hours straight and my power only went down to 64%, NOT EVEN 50! It was at 64 for like an hour and some change too, I believe. I would’ve tested it even longer to see how long it would take before it died on me, but my vive trackers were getting low (and half body vr isn’t as fun). But anyways, great product! Really glad I made the purchase honestly.
Item arrive fast time and works great. Thank you for your effort.
It was pretty good confusing to setup if you don’t read instructions would probably reccomend
Link works great when windows 11 decides to work. The connector to the headset is honestly not the best I’ve felt but it works.
I used this for PC link, once I had my settings dialed in this works pretty good. It’s a bit finnicky on the timing and order in which you plug in the charger to the cable and when you plug the cable to the PC, which you have to do over each time, but it keeps my quest 2’s battery charged while I play.
Il faut connatre le “truc” pour que la charge fonctionne bien :
Brancher le cable dans un ordre prcis en respectant un dlais.
– Brancher le cable au chargeur secteur Quest
— attendre 10 secondes —
– Brancher le cable au casque Quest.
– Brancher le casque Quest au PC.
I highly recommend this link cable. It is much cheaper than the official Oculus link cable (which I own) and unlike the official link cable which can’t provide enough amperage from your PC’s motherboard to charge the Quest 2 while linked, this will keep your headset charged for as long you want to use it. You may occasionally have to unplug and replug all the cables in the order described in the manual to reset the IC that regulates the battery because it will occasionally stop working but this is no big deal. This is the only solution to charge your Quest 2 while using PCVR apart from airlink. I highly recommend this cable and have sent a link to it to several of my friends on VRChat over Discord when they’ve complained about not being able to keep their headset charged while using PCVR. Buy this, not the official link cable!
When I broke my official oculus link cable I was looking for a cheap interim replacement until I was up for spending the money to replace the original. But this cable is truly much better than that one for less than a third of the price. It has a great transfer speed, and with even just a little usb-usbc cable it actually charges my headset as I play (the official one leaves my headset slowly dropping in power as I play). The connector is great and is at a good angle. My only very minor complaint is the fact that the cable comes wrapped in a circle which seems to be impossible to remove the shape of even after a lot of use. But that is a hard problem to solve and more of a minor annoyance than a real issue. Overall I would suggest this to anyone looking for a link cable or even just a nice long charger for their headset. So much better than I expected.
I initially had the overpriced cable from Meta thinking higher cost = better, however I pretty quickly found out my motherboard, an ASUS Strix B550-F, doesn’t want to charge, let alone slow down battery drain for my Quest 2. Big problem since my headset is going to be used almost exclusively for PCVR as a Rift S replacement.
Needless to say, I wasn’t happy with what I was getting for the price I returned the Meta cable and ordered this one.
With the Meta cable, I was seeing a 50% battery loss over 1 hour, more than double the 20% over 2 hours I saw most others reporting. This cable though? As long as you follow the directions, it performs almost exactly as advertised. I’m seeing about 4% loss per hour, with my HMD dropping from 95% to 75% after a 4 hour session of Into the Radius.
As for the future 120hz default? It still slightly reduced drain for me in that mode, 40% over 1 hour vs 50%. If that’s an issue for you, just force 90hz in settings. Higher refresh wasn’t really noticeable during actual gameplay anyway.
So, I don’t really have any complaints. It’s slightly stiffer than the Meta cable, I guess? Not really an issue.
Regardless, to me this is THE Link cable to get, unless of course they make a better version of it at some point.
The cable is absolutly worth the purchase, if you want to play VR for a very long period of time. I have had this cable Since 8/May/2022 and every since then ity has been a very good cable. The positives I hae had with the cable is that I am able to play most of the VR titles that I own PC using the usb that is required by oculus to connect to PC. It does pass all the tests that is required to play VR with Ease. However if you dont want to use PC or have a good PC, you can still use the charging mechanism by using a data transfer USB that might be found on a laptop to give you the fast charge and longevity of play times. The cable is very sturdy and firm which makes if a very solid cable to not worry about it breaking in the future. Now for the negatives of the cable is that when you connect the cable to the headset, it will become a little heavy for the head. Since the cable is sturdy and kinda bulky it feels like an anchor on your head which isnt that comfortable. My solution for that was to put the cable on my Light that helps with the support and makes it not feel noticible, but still is. Another negative about the cable is if you do not play VR for more than 2 hours or so, there is no point of buying this cable. Only reason I have it is because of the PC VR and the charging balance. Overall it is a very good cable for PC Vr and much better than most cables that only have cable and no charging placement in the cable.
For 10 bucks more, you can get a 15 dollar version of this for charging, and 20 bucks towards Virtual Desktop. Which has been vastly superior in my opinion. But if you plan to use oculus link, then this is the only cable worth getting.
Pros of Oculus link is that it is really well optimized for smoothness, if your gpu can push the fps, and you don’t mind an extra 25ms in latency for less dropped Frames, then this is the cable all the way.
But virtual desktop, with a proper router, can get down to 25ms latency, with nearly imperceptible dropped frames.
That being said I am able to get the same test speeds on this cable as the oculus link official cable which is just a huge waste of cash.
The cable at first kept the charge near 78, but after a week or two it started to stay at battery levels near 65. That’s not the problem tho, at times the cable doesn’t charge efficiently even though I made sure it’s plugged in and charging. This problem happened to me less than 10 times over 2 months.
Had some issues getting it to work, until I studied the instructions on the packet. There is a specific order with which to connect . Do it in the correct order with the headset turned off initially and it will work fine.
Works great and holds the battery at at about 84% for me. Hours of gameplay on my Sim racing rig as a resul
Das Kabel ist sehr robust und die Steckverbindung mit der Quest ist sehr fest. Gut so.
When compared to the original cable from Meta, one cannot complain. It does everything the original does with added extras. This one actually charges the headset at the same time and never faulted in its connection duties. So very happy with this purchase.
Bought this product as other cables just wouldn’t charge my Quest 2 while I was playing, this product has not only solved my problem but also gives me 2.6 GB connection. I highly recommend this product.
A must have for any sim racer who uses VR
Pretty good nice long cable with the option to plug in a separate charging line to extend game play.
Only found it will transfer up to 2.2Gbps and not the “up to 5Gbps” as advertised although that could be my rig.
Useful for standing well away from my pc and enjoying the virtual worlds.
Only downside is you may want to have it hung overhead as it’s a good quality heavy cable.
Works as a link cable for quest 2 if your computer doesn’t have usb c. Also works as a slow charger while using the headset.
The regular usb end is better than usb c the end of the original meta cable be
It’s a great quality cable for the price. Durability-wise it feels like it’ll last a long time since it’s made of decent rubber / plastic. The connection to my PC is basically perfect and it never drops out, though it took me a little while to realise I had to disable AirLink before it would work lol.
The only slight drawback is that it doesn’t completely hold the Quest’s charge. I’m still giving it 5 stars since the amount of time you need to be playing before it dies is very long, and I’m pretty sure it’s circumstantial depending on how demanding the game you’re playing is.
Worth every penny.
Product is built well and is plenty long for VR.
Using a USB-C power meter, I’m able to see the amperage that different cables are able to supply.
The in-the-box oculus usb-c to usb-c cable charges at 5V/2A(amps) which is what oculus intended for the oculus to receive. (I’ve also tested a 6ft usb-c to usb-c cable that also charged at 5V/2A).
Almost all link cables you’ll find on here on Amazon will only do 5V/1A which is unfortunately not enough to keep the headset charged for very long periods of time.
Finally to this product, it’s better than other products in that it charges at 5V/1.4A. I was excited to see this product advertise 2A charging but so far I haven’t seen it.
From initial impressions with this cable, I was able to barely sustain charge at lower battery levels. I wasn’t able to see the battery increase 0-3% every hour like the product describes. BUT the oculus didn’t die on me which is a huge plus!
Also interesting tidbit, when the oculus charger isn’t plugged into the box on this cable, the oculus will only charge 5V/0.6A. So make sure you plug in your oculus charger into this cable otherwise it’s worse than other cables!
I definitely recommend this as it’s the best option and I’m too cheap to try out the $80 oculus link cable to find out if that cable is able to truly carry the 2A over the longer cable.
The battery drain when i use this cable is definitely wayyyy slower than using anything else. but there’s still a drain. last night i was playing no mans sky on steam VR through oculus link after 4 hours of gameplay i went from 65% battery to 21% battery. I plugged the charger into the cable then the power block for my charger into my surge protector then the cable into my quest 2 made sure it showed it was charging then plugged the cable into the 3.1 usb a port on my computer. currently reaching out to kuject to see if i’m doing this wrong but all that aside the fact that i was able to play No man’s sky for more than 3 hours using this is a HUGE win in my book! Granted that i still experienced a battery drain using this cable it took hours for it to happen so i still strongly reccommend this cable to anyone who’s tired of having their battery die when playing on their quest 2 because its still super effective.
I bought 5 separate cables at this point to test them and return the bad ones. This is the one I did not return.
All the cables work fine in terms of using the link functionality but this is the only that actually charges.
Oculus has a built in prevention for when the headset is too hot it will stop charging no matter what cable so don’t expect it charge when that thermal threshold has been exceeded. But other than that this is the only one that will charge whilst playing.
This does exactly as advertised. Plugged the type A end of the cable into a USB 3.0 port on my desktop. Plugged the type C end into my Quest 2. Then plugged the charging brick that came with my Quest 2 into the wall and plugged another USB C charging cable into the small box with the type C port on it in the middle of this cable. Now I can play uninterrupted because I’m still connected to the PC but I’m not relying on the motherboard to supply enough power since the charger that came with the headset is also providing power.
Image quality of PC VR games through the Quest 2 using this cable is better than my Oculus Rift S. I wish it was longer but it’s the same length as the Rift S cable so I have no complaints there. I can’t comment on how sturdy or reliable this will be over time but I do have several hours of use with it so far and it feels nice and strong.
I need to do more tests on the image quality and latency between this cable over USB 3.0, Oculus Air Link, and the Oculus Virtual Desktop app but so far I’m really happy with this option.
I bought this cable as it’s really annoying when you’re playing a game and get really into and get the battery low notification pops up saying it’s needs to charge. I thought i’d try this and seen people say it works for them and actually maintains charge but sadly for me it doesn’t maintain it but it does drain extremely slow like 1-2% and hour which really you ain’t going to playing for that long for it to even reach low battery.
I followed all the guides to make this work but nothing seems to make it maintain it but overall i would recommend this to others if your annoyed when playing VR and you dont get enough play time.
Photo show’s 2hr’s of use while playing link only.
This thing works great, keeps my device charged and that’s all I wanted. I own at least 10 cables with our quest family of devices, this one works the best for overall image and charging. I’ve tried all name brands some even claim they charge but do not. My other cable I loved was by this brand I think? It was a 20ft with a brick in the middle I stepped on all the time. Not like this one the where the brick is very close to the USB 3.0 A Male end that plug’s into your PC. “Your feet will be happy” So coming to this one is an all around improvement besides the length. The cable is a nice soft – ish rubber feels very lightweight compared to my other cables. That also means less head fatigue when playing long sessions.
listen I’m no reviewer but after my sole search of a darn cable that will do Link & charge properly without costing $80.00 while spending myself way over $80.00 :-/ I’m sure lol I can at least save you fine folks time and money.
Good luck & have fun with your new link experience if you get it.
