These are not as durable as some of my higher priced feather shuttlecocks
They don’t seem to hold together as well as I would have hoped, especially at this price.
The black colour is OK as long as you aren’t hitting up towards a dark ceiling, like most sports centres.
Is ok for light practice, or for beginners, wouldn’t use for any really competitive games.
If, like me, you aren’t very good, you won’t notice any difference compared to plastic shuttles, except these won’t last as long.
These shuttlecocks should be suitable for casual players or when you want to try playing with feather shuttles without ruining the branded ones that cost almost double the price and can get demolished pretty quickly. (Gentle steaming of shuttlecocks can promote their longevity a bit).
The speed on the tube is listed as ’77’ (I am not sure how this compares to other branded shuttlecocks).
The black colour of these shuttlecocks can be advantageous in some sports halls that are painted in bright white colour.
The Manjhong shuttlecocks look good and feel good. It is rightly so described for recreational gameplay only.
Definitely not for competitive gameplay as it doesn’t go in a straight line if you try to hit a long clear shot on the badminton court.
It is reasonably priced for recreational gameplay so I would recommend it.
These look well made and come in a tube for storage. I’ll be keeping these in my camper van for weekends away and holidays. Decent value for money and great for anyone who enjoys badminton.
Good quality, durable and well worth the price
Would recommend
well packaged and well presented. Good for long-term storage and portable to training sessions and games.
these are heavy – heavier than the shuttlecocks we usually use. We found that these are good for training sessions, but we were less keen on them for gameplay.
these are pretty durable. They’ve lasted well for a good number of training sessions without showing any real signs of wear and tear.
These shuttlecocks are extremely well made and I am very happy with them .
They get used quite alot in the garden and over the park so can’t wait for the summer to take them to the beach.
I used these only for outdoors because there is no issues seeing them in the light with the darker colour then the normal white one’s. Great for the park or garden. Not too fast so ok for the occasional players like friends and family.
You can use indoor as well, as long as there is plenty of lighting and the ceiling isn’t dark. My local sports centre has very high ceiling so it’s ok there. Overall, not bad.
These will not last long at all if you’re a beginner. And even if you are a pro a single cock won’t last more than a few hours. But, they’re cheap and there’s lots in there. Definitely not authentic feathers but hey, you get what you pay for.
These are good quality shuttlecocks from MANJHONG, the feathers are all glued well and are secure in the shuttle ‘head’. They’re great for beginners or for use in ‘social’ badminton settings, they fly well and are not too fast in flight so they give a wee bit of time to let you ‘size up’ your return shot. They are quite hard wearing and keep their shape, if you do mis-hit one and it does get ‘misshapen’ then it’s usually just a case of smoothing the feathers back into shape. I can recommend these, they are so much better than the plastic shuttles.
This set of x12 goose feather shuttlecocks arrived in a cardboard storage tube sealed with plastic. The shuttlecocks have a composite cork ball head covered in a white soft plastic with a green trim, which have high elasticity and white coloured goose feathers. The white feathers are good for visibility purposes both when playing indoors and outdoors. The shuttlecock is made up from x16 feathers which are strong and straight and glued together with environmental friendly glue.
As a someone who plays casually these seem like a very good option. They are slightly heavier than the normal plastic mesh shuttlecocks that I use but have better accuracy and stable fast flight. As they are made from feathers, the shuttlecocks are more delicate and will fall apart with use if you are smashing them during a rally, but the trade-off is the marked improvement in hitting performance over the plastic mesh shuttlecocks. The shuttlecocks are well made and reasonably durable and priced at 13.69 at the time of reviewing for 12 shuttlecocks I think this is good value for money at about 1.14 a shuttlecock. They bounce and fly well and are very cost effective, I would definitely recommend.
This will make you work hard. It’s medium speed but not to be played in the garden when a little bit of wind flows. Since they are very light, either to play indoors or in no wind conditions.
I don’t think the feather is a real goose but it works well for the price.
I recently got this Badminton Shuttlecocks and I couldn’t be happier. They are great for recreational play and are made with durable goose feathers. The quality of the product is top-notch and I have been using them now without any issues. Highly recommend these badminton shuttlecocks if you’re looking for something that is suitable for recreational play!
Goose Feather Shuttlecocks.
Decent quality “real” shuttlecocks. I say real because they have real goose feathers for flight. You are getting a dozen in the pack for 13.69 (at time of writing). This makes them decent value too.
In play they perform perfectly well. The only caveat is the feathers have a limited playtime. Compared to the plastic variety. I would definitely recommend them.
I play at 2 badminton clubs, one plays with feather and the other club plastics, so I am used to playing in league with both.
These are advertised as recreational shuttles and I would agree, if you want to have a knock about or practice serving etc then these are fine. At competitive club level these will not last long due to the amount of force in a smashing rally.
The weight of them is perfect, its the same as other feathers and plastics that we use.
If you are wanting to have a fun knock about a rally with feather and you don’t want to pay out a small fortune then these will be fine.
We regularly use costlier feather shuttles.
But to train with family i wanted to try a cheaper feather shuttles.
They come neatly packed in a box.
The shuttles are pretty light and they have medium speed which is good enough for intermediate players.
The shuttle has good flight and in my opinion they were as good as any other branded feather shuttles.
The only complaint i have is about the color which is to be expected for Ghoose shuttles.
You may be not be able to sight the shuttle against Dark background especially on high clearing shots because the roof generally tends to be dark.
The sighting will be deal breaker for even league games but for family fun games this would be fine.
Over all this is a decent and affordable alternative if you want to start with feather shuttles to get the feeling as i find feather shuttles always much better than plastic shuttles.
It terms of durability they are as durable as any other typical feather shuttle and we cannot compare these to Plastic as feather are always less durable compared to plastic shuttles.
Priced 13.68 (at the time of this Amazon Vine review), this makes this set of 12 shuttlecocks pretty good value.
The quality is very acceptable with a strong composite cork head on each one and real goose feathers. I notice other reviewers have commented on each shuttlecock’s weight and performance, and I suspect their observations are spot on.
I however got these for children to play ‘hacky sack’ with and for this purpose they are ideal and there are more than enough of them for many children to have a go at the game. If I had wanted them to play badminton then I think they would be more than adequate for this purpose as I usually only have a ‘knock around’ game with friends, however if we were more serious about the game then I perhaps you would want to opt for the brand leader.
I bought these for playing badminton for fun in the garden, so they weren’t bought for serious competitive play. They work fine, although I know feather shuttlecocks don’t last long. The plastic joining the feathers is a bit lumpy in places, so I don’t know whether that will affect flight (that can be my excuse when I fail)!
I hadn’t played badminton for many years, but recently acquired a pair of badminton racquets, I did have a couple of shutllecocks left, but they weren’t in great shape, so these seemed to be an ideal opportunity to get some and see if I still enjoyed the game, and if my legs would stand up to it.
They arrived in a cardboard tube and I am quite impressed by their quality. The head is made of cork and the flights are black coloured feathers. They seem to be very well made, the feathers are very even and are strung together neatly. I have taken off 1 star because on most of the shuttlecocks in my tube had at least on feather where the barbs (the little parts of the feather) are separated, and I can’t get them to ‘stick’ back together. This doesn’t seem to affect their flight, but looks a bit messy.
In use they fly straight and the one that I have used in a knock about in the garden seems to have survived a couple of games without damage. Because they are quite heavy they aren’t too affected by breezes outside.
These aren’t anywhere near competition quality, but for someone wanting a budget option for recreational play they are great.
These Goose feather shuttlecocks are just the job for social badminton sessions in the gym or for a fun knockabout in the garden, on the beach etc. Even though they’re made from goose feathers they are pretty hard wearing – if you should end up hitting the feathers, then it’s just a case of smoothing them back into shape and then getting on with your game.
At the time of my review this tube of 12 shuttlecocks would cost you 12.69 which works out at about 1.06 each, which is very good value – happy to recommend.
After a couple of months use I have found the shuttlecocks to be a very good badminton product. They are a medium speed, and as a result they are excellent for fun family friendly rallies. If you’re after something more competitive then you will need a faster set of shuttlecocks. In terms of durability, they are holding up well and can take a good beating with racquets.
I’ve had a bit of a hiatus from it due to the global “you know what” and also a smashed knee, but as I was preparing to get back into it (albeit gently) it was as if Vine had read my mind and presented me with these Manjhong feathered shuttlecocks.
I’ve previously only ever played with plastic shuttlecocks so I was very surprised at just how nice these feathered ones were. They’re very lightweight (lighter than the plastic ones I used) and seemed delicate. Another surprise was just how much faster these travel than the plastic counterparts. I’m not talking lightspeed but the difference is noticeable.
However, the durability of these things is questionable, they just seem a bit delicate for multiple games. Like, I can keep a plastic one for ages and ages and ages before there’s damage that affects the game. I don’t feel that these will last as long, in fact, one of them had already split after, say, 20 minutes of use.
Granted, my form is way off due to my layoff from playing, so I’m maybe being too heavy handed, but there I’m still dubious about their longevity. That said, they are lovely shuttlecocks and pretty good to play with.
These are a good price at under a pound a shuttle, less than half the price of Yonex shuttles. Seem well made and should be suitable for recreational play. I’ve not really given them a good try out yet but a pack of 12 seems a good investment.
A sensible way to give children an introduction to playing with feather shuttlecocks.
The feathers are held in place effectively and considering that the Olympic committee insists that only feather shuttlecocks are used, practicing with these is a great introduction for budding badminton players.
