Pack of 12 shuttlecocks . Well made. Good quality material. Very lightweight….My son enjoy playing badminton with these birdies. 100% recommended.
I love badminton and play with plastic shuttles, but when playing in the league all of a sudden, the feather shuttles come out. They have a heavier feel and fly faster. If you have a rich team you are best getting some practise with them before matches. These ‘Manjhong Badminton Shuttlecocks’ are not the cheapest compared to the plastic, but they are good value for feather.
They are well made, and all the feathers were initially attached. Like all feather shuttles they start to fall apart, but they last about the usual number of hits. The rating is a little lighter. You may want to use them on club night as practise and have faster versions for match night. I have never used black feathers before and they play the same of course. It can get a little getting used to, but there is some benefit if you have bright lighting in a hall as they will contrast better.
I hadn’t played badminton for many years, but recently acquired a pair of badminton racquets, I did have a couple of shutllecocks left, but they weren’t in great shape, so these seemed to be an ideal opportunity to get some and see if I still enjoyed the game, and if my legs would stand up to it.
They arrived in a cardboard tube and I am quite impressed by their quality. The head is made of cork and the flights are black coloured feathers. They seem to be very well made, the feathers are very even and are strung together neatly. I have taken off 1 star because on most of the shuttlecocks in my tube had at least on feather where the barbs (the little parts of the feather) are separated, and I can’t get them to ‘stick’ back together. This doesn’t seem to affect their flight, but looks a bit messy.
In use they fly straight and the one that I have used in a knock about in the garden seems to have survived a couple of games without damage. Because they are quite heavy they aren’t too affected by breezes outside.
These aren’t anywhere near competition quality, but for someone wanting a budget option for recreational play they are great.
These Goose feather shuttlecocks are just the job for social badminton sessions in the gym or for a fun knockabout in the garden, on the beach etc. Even though they’re made from goose feathers they are pretty hard wearing – if you should end up hitting the feathers, then it’s just a case of smoothing them back into shape and then getting on with your game.
At the time of my review this tube of 12 shuttlecocks would cost you 12.69 which works out at about 1.06 each, which is very good value – happy to recommend.
For a 12-pack of shuttlecocks at 12.69, I think this is unbeatable value. Especially when the shuttlecocks are of the highest standards.
My sons and I play quite a lot of badminton and do get through some shuttlecocks. We prefer the ones made with real feathers as they have a bit more weight and seem to fly more evenly. I have never had black ones before but find they are much easier to see, at least against the white ceiling of the leisure centre we play in!
Great value for money shuttlecocks nicely made and great visible in a lit up badminton court makes a change to playing with white colored ones
I play at 2 badminton clubs, one plays with feather and the other club plastics, so I am used to playing in league with both.
These are advertised as recreational shuttles and I would agree, if you want to have a knock about or practice serving etc then these are fine. At competitive club level these will not last long due to the amount of force in a smashing rally.
The weight of them is perfect, its the same as other feathers and plastics that we use.
If you are wanting to have a fun knock about a rally with feather and you don’t want to pay out a small fortune then these will be fine.
Best thing about these is that they are black, if the hall you play in is very wishy washy white then it can be really hard to follow a fast game, black is so much easier to see in a white or cream walled hall.
Worse thing about them is its not easy to pull the bottom of the lid off to get them out, never found this a issue on any other tube I have opened
This pack of 12 shuttlecocks with real Goose feathers, are really good value at about 1 for each shuttlecock. They are really well put-together with dual density cork heads and goose feathers, cut perfectly and strung together really well. I’ve never played Badminton competetively but find it excellent fun, and these real feather shuttlecocks add something a little different to the usual modern plastic kind. They don’t stay in perfect condition for too long once you’ve hit them about a few times but they’re still great value-for-money.
This is a great fun pack of black feathered shuttlecocks; you get 12 in the tube (not the 14 that some of the picture’s show) which is nice to keep them in shape and the end makes them easy to get out each time you need one.
Each shuttlecock is very well made with a good solid cork head that has been great to hit with good bounce off the racquet. The feathers are all tight and together with good even spacing ensuring a good flight when they have been hit.
Overall, I think it’s a great set and at 12.69 I think they are very good value for money.
I have two bats left over from when our son lived with us, but wanted some shuttlecocks, these are ideal for a quick bat around with the grand kids in the back garden. I didn’t need competition quality ones, just wanted to play with them to improve hand to eye co-ordination. I have warned them I am not running all over the shop, my leg won’t take it, they need to pass it back to me. I try to get them to bet the last high number also teaches the little ones to count. Maths and Exercise in one activity!
I got these to play in the garden, as the weather hopefully will improve we enjoy playing games in the garden and particularly like badminton, these 12 shuttlecocks are perfect, they are made from real feathers and tied together with string and glued as well.
They really are lightweight with a cork base, the one downside is as they are so light any wind will affect them so best play on days when the wind is light, I have tested them in the garden and they are great, better than the plastic ones and they should last longer.
I carefully examined all 12 and they are beautifully made, you get then in a cardboard cylinder, so they go on one way and you can pull them out from the other end of the cardboard cylinder, each end has a plastic cap. I think these shuttlecocks are fantastic, I like them as do my husband and children and we will have a lot of fun with them in the garden.
In terms of value for money, these are not professional shuttlecocks, but are only for recreation use and are even better indoors, yes they could do with a bit more weight, but for the money present excellent value, they are also well made and should be durable, so I am happy to give them five stars and recommend them.
Really interesting packet love the in out plastic caps help cement the quality of this product
I love the look of the shuttle cocks but at first glance, they do look a little crude in their finishing, but they work great. Only time will tell how long they last very happy with the carton, as it’s great to carry easy to load and unload has a really good price point under 13 for 12, that’s just over 1 per cock
After a couple of months use I have found the shuttlecocks to be a very good badminton product. They are a medium speed, and as a result they are excellent for fun family friendly rallies. If you’re after something more competitive then you will need a faster set of shuttlecocks. In terms of durability, they are holding up well and can take a good beating with racquets.
Like the colour – unique, good quality as well. Really good value for your money for the whole lot.
Just come in from an impromptu game of garden badminton with these shuttlecocks and I can say that they fly well and went where we hit them. I’ve never actually played with the feathered versions before and frankly didn’t see much of a difference from the plastic ones I have, although the feathers did get a bit ruffled, but possibly hitting it with a large stick to get it out of the tree was a factor here! Price wise they aren’t overly expensive compared to others and possibly the feathers are a bit more environmentally friendly.
Goose feather shuttlecocks always play nicer than plastic ones. These ones seem so much faster than what I have been using until now, and the black colour is actually easier to see in the brightly lit hall I play in. After a few games, you can tell the difference between a new one and a used one, there is always some damage to the feathers, and just straightening them up a little before play becomes part of your routine, but they are still sturdier than a plastic one, they can often just look a little ragged with the feathers get brushed around a lot. Basically a really nice shuttlecock that feels more expensive than it actually is, and somehow just seems more fun with play with than a plastic one.
These are very good practice shuttlecocks as it is well-priced. Construction is good and lightweight. The only downside is it gets destroyed when not hit properly (as I do as I am a novice). I have plastic shuttlecock and I can tell there is a bit of difference between the two types of shuttlecocks.
I’ve had a bit of a hiatus from it due to the global “you know what” and also a smashed knee, but as I was preparing to get back into it (albeit gently) it was as if Vine had read my mind and presented me with these Manjhong feathered shuttlecocks.
I’ve previously only ever played with plastic shuttlecocks so I was very surprised at just how nice these feathered ones were. They’re very lightweight (lighter than the plastic ones I used) and seemed delicate. Another surprise was just how much faster these travel than the plastic counterparts. I’m not talking lightspeed but the difference is noticeable.
However, the durability of these things is questionable, they just seem a bit delicate for multiple games. Like, I can keep a plastic one for ages and ages and ages before there’s damage that affects the game. I don’t feel that these will last as long, in fact, one of them had already split after, say, 20 minutes of use.
Granted, my form is way off due to my layoff from playing, so I’m maybe being too heavy handed, but there I’m still dubious about their longevity. That said, they are lovely shuttlecocks and pretty good to play with.
