I am so happy with these cameras. I only wanted one. I now have 3 and will purchase more of them. I already have the Arlo system but this is much cheaper to purchase and is a much better system. The solar panels easily charge the cameras even on cloudy days. If a camera does lose some charge, I just plug an waterproof battery pack into it for an hour or so to boost it. Then reinsert the solar panel again. The options and settings are amazing. You can do so much with it. The picture quality and sensitivity of the microphone have amazed me. You can hear every word someone is saying. Even if they stand around the corner out of sight and whisper. Definitely worth a purchase. I don’t have as many false alarms with these as I did with the Arlo system.
Good quality camera for the price. Mounting it can be difficult depending on what your external walls are made off. So just be careful.
I would say the job is done with the camera. I feel much safer with it thanks to the notifications system on the app. It detects everything and let you know it on the phone. Unsure yet about the solar panel. Time will tell if with the UK weather it holds well. If not you can atill unmount the cam and charge via micro usb so no big deal.
All in all. In my new place I will definitely buy more of this brand shall I need new ones
It works well and easy to fit. The online instructors however on how to connect the camera to the internet were out of date. It’s all done now on the App. At one point is says the camera is connected and the camera isn’t connected. It’s a question. Press on the camera isn’t connected for it to look for your Wi-Fi. Once set up you can go back into the App and set up a monthly subscription to upload video to iCloud for 30days. It’s at a good price so likely better than relying on SD cards.
Lots to like. The WiFi aerial is external and screwed on and picks up a signal from a good distance. Suffice to say when I did a walk test with the camera and my iPhone SE2020 across the field from our house this Argus ECO camera kept the signal going and was transmitting video for TWICE the distance that my iPhone did. I had to switch the iPhone to 4G in order to watch the video the camera was sending over WiFi at max distance. I think double the distance is more useful measure than actual metres (but for reference clear line of site from my low end Tenda mesh MW3 unit in the house window it managed 100m).
I have some older Reolink and Eufy cameras and I must say this has a rather novel combined PIR sensor plus digital AI detection. So for detection and alarms you have to have PIR enabled for warm moving bodies (people, animals, vehicles and anything else with an IR signature) BUT you can additionally have the camera employ digital image AI to NOT alarm on say Vehicles or People in a certain areas of the image – so in my case NOT include vehicles in part the picture (of the roadway beyond) but include people. Worth reading the manual in depth about this and all its options. I believe you must have the PIR enabled if you want any form of alarm notification. Optionally you can also enable a siren on the camera itself for when an alarm is triggered.
The Reolink app (that I use with my Reolink GO camera) has additional features with the Argus ECO in the the playback timeline also show preview snippets as well. Nice and I can see why they don’t do it over the mobile network with the GO camera.
Only been installed a week so early days but so far very pleased and the solar panel included means I won’t have to take the camera down to recharge every month. Oh yes the usual microphone and speaker so you can speak with delivery drivers etc.
Now you might be wondering why 4 stars and not less with poor wi-fi coverage, I own a couple of other Reolink (even one with the same Model, build No, Hardware No, Config Version, Firmware Version and details ) and they work beautifully, the coverage is great I have one well over 30 metres away, sent the faulty one back and got a replacement, as I have the software installed the new one was up and running well within 15 minutes (that’s configure to use on my PC and Tablet, camera configured to how I like it and installed) and placed where I wanted it in the garden (this one was only about 20 metres away, the faulty one did not even make it out of the house).
They last nearly a week on a charge, I use a power-brick to charge them as they are away from the house.
Software is very easy to use.
The only things I don’t like is the Q code on the device is too small for my Tablet to scan it, the UID number is very small and hard to read especially as you use O0 8B etc. in the code.
Make sure you do use a fast SD card, I remember testing one with an old SD hard and the lag was unbelievable, fast card, down to a second.
If you follow the instructions you’ll get there eventually but I ended up watching a YouTube on getting it working. A smart phone is required as you take a picture of the Qr code image on the camera to get it working but there are a few fiddly steps. An SD card is required – format it prior to installing. If it’s not in Wi-Fi range it just plods on and hopefully takes images when triggered. Four sinister red lights at night are just what is required to make any intruder think twice but we all know that doesn’t stop thieves but anything to make their lives more inconvenient helps. I really like the solar powered version which is working well. The app is pretty useless unless the unit is in Wi-Fi range and frankly hotspot from your phone doesn’t seem to work. So, from my experience if you want to view things from the app it is best positioned near or in range of the home Wi-Fi where it works like a breeze. Elsewhere it’s a deterrent and will just take images/video of things that trigger it. Great price and is pretty great quality, robust and well made, easy to install, nice that it’s solar powered.
Rapidit a collegarsi alla rete e a far vedere le immagini. Ottima qualit visiva. Molte funzioni tramite app. Si collega ad alexa
Brilliant camera can’t find a fault connects every time great picture quality works with alexa let’s me know when someone is about. Solar is a plus as no electricity needed so I’ve used it in the garden will buy more at some poi
Solarbetrieb luft bisher gut. (ist z.Z. Sommer)
Top fr Preis Leistung
Overall the camera works very well but I would recommend charging the battery in the camera first to full capacity and do all the setting up inside your home. The camera had difficulty reading the barcode on my phone in daylight. The unit has a solid feel to it and the app works fine.
You can talk on the phone to your camera and view
I ise these to provide a live link to a blindspot I used to have. I have 4 reolink cams and they all sync to the same app which is very simple to set up. The night vision is fantastic and detailed.
Huge fan of this product. Purchased it over a year again and have only charged it once in that period. Great picture and easily to use app to view same
This is the second of these cameras I have purchased, I am very pleased with them. I am happy with the picture quality and found the ability to use a talk feature very good. I would recommend these cameras.
Very simple to install, the solar panel keeps the camera fully charged.
Good sensor and alert via phone app to give notification of any movement.
Not sure how good the picture would be for identification of people to the police, bur as a general deterant and simple alert system it’s great value for money.
This is an excellent camera with a solar panel to charge the batteries the image quality is excellent and the night vision is good too I purchased this for a friend who had an attempted break-in on their house and they are extremely pleased with the camera and have asked me to leave positive feedback for i
I think these cameras are very good value, I have 2, I have had the odd problem solved by their customer service, which is superb and even sent a replacement.
I like this and the fact I did not have to limbo through the loft was simply awesome.
It takes a bit of fiddling to get it set up and you have to be gentle not too heavy handed when tightening camera in to place but I’m very happy
I’ve tried a lot of different wireless security cameras and this is as good as it gets. Solar charges well. No hassle. Need to keep spider webs off time to time. I had an earlier version of this where camera picture quality was poor but two recent purchases have better quality. Had this for nearly 2 years so well tested. A lot of cameras do not have an audible alarm if triggered, but the Reolink does. This I think is useful (I use it to scare away a badger).
Got 2 of these now, the price has dropped considerably! Easy to install and set up, the solar panel only needs 2-3 hours daylight to keep the battery at 100% all day. Images are clear, the sound is good although does pick up wind noise but not a real problem. Talk back is good and you can talk to someone remotely through your phone from anywhere. I was in Dom Rep and was able to speak to my step daughter back home no problem.
No wiring means these are a cinch to install, just connect to wi-Fi and you’re away!
Can’t sing the praises of these cameras enough, easily comparable to some more expensive wired brands and a third of the price. Would defo recommend and buy again.
Does the job, and the solar panel keeps battery at 100%.
Very good and easy to set up, can be quite sensitive so need to avoid passers-by etc.
Easy to set up, works well, however had some problems with it but Reolink Support sortd it out for me. excellent value for money. gets triggered by spiders and rain.
After a recent increase in undesirable behaviour in the area we wanted extra security.
As we are renting I didn’t want anything with wiring that meant we had to drill through the walls but also wanted something that was durable and didn’t cost the earth.
We bought two of these – one for the garden and one for the front and the quality is excellent and they were so simple to setup. The night vision has been great and even captured a badger a few times and being solar powered has meant no need to charge or take down.
We sometimes have connectivity issues where it takes a few attempts to connect but nothing that has been too irritating, especially at this point.
I’ve had this an few days with a view to making it a permanent installation. I think it’s important to say it up and trial it for a few days as the motion detection can be quite sensitive so you can spend a lot of time looking at snow and rain. As long as the sensitivity is adjusted correctly it goes well. Other thing is that you won’t be able to clearly read a number plate but the quality is adequate enough. If you want a really sharpe video like that you’ll need a proper 5million pixel/lots of memory setup for a few hundred quid….. All in all I like it. It’s cheap, accessible on the mobile, solar powered. Good buy.
To be honest I wasn’t expecting much. The motion sensor isn’t 100%, expect it to miss certain things. Battery life really good in high activity areas without the solar panel. Mine recorded 100s of videos and lasted 4 days without the solar panel. Image quality is pretty good, however once you’re about a few feet away it’s not as good as to be expected. Ideal for smaller areas like doorways and not be bought to cover big areas. The reolink software is really stable and very easy to understand.
Great piece of kit. Lots of features. Bought 2 of these to put outside a couple of holiday lets so have had to connect to the 2 Wi-Fi systems in the houses. Only concern I had was the solar panel not charging enough as the are the cameras are fitted is in the shade most of the day, but I have found the battery is always 100% full when I check in settings. Would reccomend. I do find the Reolink app a bit confusing and I’m not quite sure how I managed to set up motion detection alerts., but all works well.
I have now purchased 2 of these cameras, 1 for the front and the other for the back of the house. My back garden is very dark at night and the night vision on another camera i had was very poor so I purchased this 1 to try out. Massive improvement and picks up motion even in the dark areas that I wouldn’t be able to see. Easy enough to set up but a bit tricky to position and tighten into place. Solar panel charges even in overcast weather so my battery hasn’t been bellow 95% yet! Also i like that I can schedule the motion sensor notifications and change the sensitivity. Overall a great security camera and good value too!
Love this product. It looks and feels very professional and seems like good quality. I have it just inside the entrance to my barn keeping an eye on my driveway etc. So far it has performed brilliantly, I was a little dubious about the solar panel and whether it would give enough power for what I need, but it does. Every time I look at the battery level it says it is fully charged. I am delighted and would thoroughly recommend it.
Hi, great cam – holds its own data on sd card and works even if power cut happens, until charge goes but 99% of the time you are covered for a day at least – solar charger in UK works but needs direct sun and all day to cover night use – Great item – Wifi on newer versions might give option to use better speed etc, fingers crossed 😉 but thats camera units wide in 2020
Camera App now uses your current mobile phone WIFI to set camera – much faster to setup 😉
Really pleased with whole set-up. Being wireless and solar powered makes installation very simple. I thought about the location of the two cameras to cover the front door and the rear/side doors, all entrances to the property and with the 4m of cable to the solar panel I could site them to face the movement of the sun. After some experimenting with the settings I am happy with the scheduled times they are armed, the sensitivity of the detection and whether to have the siren on or off or the verbal warning. An alert is triggered on my phone in about 6 seconds, so long as I have WiFi of phone data coverage, so being able to hear and speak over the system is pretty good.
The camera and software all work well together. My only critical comment would be the ability to pick up the WiFi signal at any thing other than close proximity.
I use it as a wildlife camera and therefore even with a wifi extender it struggles at 4 to 5 metres away from the extender. (1 bar signal)
I do wonder if a longer screw on aerial option might just uplift that range.
This seems to be a great product given I have only used it for a short while.
Pro – very flexible and easily moved. Charges well from the solar panel, great clear picture, very good range even much wider than the range of our normal WiFi network. Easy to use and configure and very flexible to set up exactly how you want.
Cons- set up instruction not to clear so had to use U Tube to find a video but that is a small negative only.
I purchased this product as a convenient wireless way of security for my yard. It was in place within 15 minutes and setup on the phone ect within 5, so was happy with that. The picture quality can be adjusted in live view mode and is noticeably different and with some playing about the motion senser is most definitely adequate for my needs.
The night vision in my opinion could be improved but again certainly not bad for the price of the product. The app is very easy to use and is quite intuitive in its layout. You can arrange within the app a scedule for the pir sensors etc throught the days (good idea).
There is an audible alarm that can be activated manually or upon motion, this can be configured also. With this feature also comes the “intercom” function, so great when I need to call my daughter in from playing out.
All in all a very good system for the price.
I like this camera, the quality of the picture, and the ease with which it went up. I’d have given it a 5 but it needs to be charged, inside, once a month in the winter. We’re in Scotland so the days are short and overcast and the side of the house it’s mounted on is on the shaded side… All it’s a good product but, the solar battery was a bit pricey and we can’t fully rely on it.
Installed it 2 weeks ago and its working fine so far. I live north of uk where weather is harsh in winter so i am waiting to see how it works in freezing conditions. So far its working great and i am happy with the produc
Tried many cameras in this price range that stated 3 months battery life, none of them lasted more than 1 week, the 2 cameras I purchased here were installed in November, I charged 1 fully and the other was at around 60% charged, both installed with solar panels, and although the weather wasn’t great we had a few days with a couple of hours of sunshine and this was enough to take both to 100% charge after about a week or so. The only problem I have is that although I get motion alerts, very often the saved video is not viewable, not sure if this is down to the camera, the memory card or my broadband, but overall I’m very happy with the cameras in comparison to others I have tried, also simple to set up on phone
I was looking for a quality outdoor security camera so I could monitor our motorhome that’s now stored at the side of the house. I wanted to avoid drilling holes through the external brick walls and messing with our electric cables. It also needed to operate via our WiFi network. After much research I decided to try this Reolink WiFi camera with solar charging.
Installation was very simple and neat. The length of cable attached to the solar panel allows it to be positioned up to 4m from the camera.
Instructions for connecting the camera could be clearer, however connecting to the app. was reasonably easy, a little more complex disyphering the instructions for the PC client.
Picture quality night and day is excellent and the pir works well.
Overall I’m impressed with this camera system and would recommend it as a low cost, easy to install, security solution.
The motion detector is very good and picks movement up every time someone walks past. The 1080p picture is really good quality, the Reolink app works well and is great that you can download a PC and Mac version. The only issue for me was the 20mins live view limit. When you have the ac mains plugged in I would expect to be able to have live view for unlimited time as I am not using the battery power.
I have been looking for cctv cameras for a while now and saw a review on YouTube. They were given a glowing tribute and so took the plunge. Once the app is on your phone they are simplicity it’s self to set up, QR codes do all the work and all you have to do is mount them to your wall. Incidentally, the only down side to these cameras is the mounting screws as they are poor quality and should be thrown straight in the bin. The black magic happens when you are away from home and you can still connect to them. I still haven’t worked out how this happens, but does, and very well too.
So after nearly a year of use the camera will nolonger charge enough during the day I have to charge fully via a charger then plug the solar panel in but still won’t last long. Won’t be buying another will stick with the hard wired version that lasted 5 years so far.
Simple to set up in the app (you have to download) but if you want to connect to your amazon show it was a little tricky for me. So I suggest calling customer service via the Alexa app. The lady talked me through step by step to set it up via Alex Show and it works just fine!. For the price I would say this camera is great quality, I have tried to view when I am away from my house and seems to work great. I had it indoors for a while ad I had to wait to out it up outside so works both indoors and out.
Great package. Just charge camera….install app…follow easy instruction from cam and from great instruction booklet. Tip…. Set up cam before fixing on wall. This way you can choose best fixing position before drilling holes. Also cable between cam and solar panel is long. I purchased a small white waterproof box. Fixed this behind cam and now it looks neat with no dangling wires. This is a great cam and great value.
Update
Had a problem that the solar panel was not charging properly. Emailed the company ..got a reply in an hour and received a replacement by Amazon in 2 days. Battery is now charging perfectly.. What an amazing service/company/product..Well Done!!!
Had some trouble at first with the recording had to format daily.
The sensor was increased to 90% only problem with that now is on average I get about 200 notifications a day as it picks up everything from a person walking up the stairs to the trees are blowing then I’d much prefer that done it not pick up anything nightvision so far I’ve had no problems with.
Definitely great value and the solar panels makes it very in economical
Purchased to observe owls that have taken up residence in a shed which is about 20m from the house, was not sure if I could get the signal across but a Wi-fi repeater I already was using allowed a positive link. The shed has a steel roof and the signal got through that so very impressed. Set up was easy but would be useful if the app allowed the WiFi password to be seen as it is typed as it is to easy on a phone to hit the wrong key. Quality of the unit fantastic for the price and great website and help documentation available on line.
Recently there have been reports of cars being broken into locally, hence my interest in this device. It took me about 25 minutes to install the camera and solar panel (included). Connecting it to our Wi-Fi was fairly straightforward, but getting it to send emails to my Gmail account was certainly not straightforward. On the plus side the image from the camera is acceptable, both day and night. However, setting appropriate sensitivity for the PIR sensor takes a little doing (fiddling).. this involved my other half parading about, both within the area we wanted triggering to occur and nonchalantly passing by on the pavement. There is unfortunately no way of defining areas that the camera ignores (does not trigger), such as pavement. There is also an alarm sound that can be set to play when movement is detected, but it was highly annoying when it sounds several times when, for example going to the dustbin. I did stick some sellotape over the speaker to shut it up a bit, but it was driving us bonkers. So in conclusion, reasonable image quality, but needs a few more features and settings in software.
Easy to set up. Prepare to play about with it in order to get it set up for your needs. Would be good if solar panel came with a strap fitting kit like the camera. Would have liked a more anti theft bracket for the camera itself. Hope fully the camera will continue to work for many years to come.
Love my new camera. Has excellent motion detection and night vision. Easy to install.
The only downside I have to mention is that because of the aerial, you do have limited movement so is something you need to be aware of depending where you need the camera but overall excellent value for money.
I’m impressed with this camera.. I attached it to a telegraph pole in my field to monitor our horses. Picture quality is good and the solar panel keeps it charged to 100% most days. I’ve only had it for a few months but I’m pretty impressed with it.. night vision isnt great but will do and the motion detection/recording function is a bit flimsy and clunky.. it seems to miss a lot of motion and doesnt record. My only real complaint is that you have to use their App to view the camera.. I’ve added all my other camera to TinyIP Cam app, but the reolink is not supported due to the way its set up.. really annoying and I hope they address this.
The camera has a good quality picture, motion alerts are effective and the solar power panel to maintain power has made it a very flexible camera. I was disappointed to find, only after buying, that the cloud is not yet supported in the UK, so the camera relies on the memory card unless you’re able to live view and record at the time of the event. I hope Reolink get through GDPR regs and make this available soon.
Great PIR camera for the money. But people should be aware that PIR cameras like this only wake up and record when motion is detected. There is a delay of a couple seconds so some action will be missed if it’s fast moving across the field of view. So it won’t be a good option for everyone. That aside, the other issue with this camera is it’s narrow field of view, which is very noticeable compared to other cameras, like the Argus 2 (which is a FAR better device from the same company if you can afford the extra).
Although I bought this Reolink Argus Eco camera nine months ago, I waited until I could assess reliability before posting a review. The camera came well packaged with good instructions. It is well made and smart. Setup was very easy and quick. I have been very impressed with the sensitivity of the alarm, promptness of recording start after the sensor is triggered and quality of the recorded images. Audio seemed weak at the camera end i.e. I had to be very close to the camera to hear anything from the camera speaker, but maybe I hadn’t adjusted the settings sufficiently.
I use the camera inside my home to monitor it during extended periods away. It’s set up to send me an email and a snapshot when the sensor is triggered. I can then watch recorded footage remotely. Battery life is excellent (still 80% charge after 2 months). Daytime viewing is crystal clear and night vision is sufficient. The Reolink app (installed on my iPad) is user-friendly and allows for a wide range of remote settings and adjustments. I can’t comment on the solar panel since I’ve not used it (the camera is indoors). Anyone wondering whether to buy this camera should look at the Reolink support site — it’s clear from the clarity and detail of the guidance there that Reolink is a quality company with good customer support.
I bought one of these camera’s after some thefts in the area. I have to say I’m really impressed with it. The fact that it’s solar powered is great, as it means no trailing leads anywhere / drilling through the walls for power. The picture quality is great, two way intercom means I can speak to a delivery driver etc, the time setting means I can decide how long to record once movement is triggered. So good was the first camera, I’ve now bought 2 more for other locations around my property. One thing to remember is that if you want to view what’s going on from your phone when away from your house, the camera needs to be able to get WiFi signal. Bear that in mind when purchasing.
Bought this on a Black Friday deal. I had previously used Mi cameras but these only worked inside the house and are really only for the Chinese market. The reolink meets all Mr requirements and I’m buying two more!
I really like the app and PC client – both if which are free. I may try setting up an smb share on an old and to store the recordings on.
You can configure 3 recipients for notifications.
Only downside so far is that you cannot define motion detection zones. Basically any movement in the entire picture could trigger an alarm – so you need to be careful where you are going to point it. There is a a sensetivity setting which seems to limit he distance from the camera at which motion is detected.
Bought first one in 2019. Second 2020 and recently 2021. The two older ones work as normal. The new one seems to have a software update the app offer time laspe. Picture privacy blocking while other two do not. Their great two early ones are on 64GB SD cards new 1 on 32GB only downside is the linking to wifi router can take 40 mins or several attempts over days. As they operate 2.4 GHz turn off the 5GHZ of your router it speeds up connecting process.
Excellent camera, really impressed. I purchased this camera to monitor my chicken coop, and it works brilliantly. The only real limitation with this camera is your wifi coverage, as obviously you need to have a good wifi signal at the point of installation (I am fortunate to have good wifi coverage over my whole property). As long as you have wifi, the camera is extremely easy to just stick up. The long cable supplied with the solar panel allows you to easily place the panel in the best location. Battery life is excellent, which really surprised me. Even with the miserable grey rainy weather we have had in the UK over the last few weeks, and with regular use including motion recording, the battery has stayed at 100%! App works really well on iPhone. I am so happy I can now easily keep an eye on my chickens day and night.
Edit* i was contacted by the suppprt team after my review, they have kindly refunded my original purchace and ive got the Argus 2 to try with a Black friday price match promise. I really cant fault the suppprt team. Its a shame my original camera was defected. I look forward to reviewing the new camera in due course.
I had nothing but trouble and was going to return but unfortunately i missed the Amazon return date. Notifications are useless it takes hours sometimes, the camera is a few feet from my wifi hub, the talk feature doesn’t work it echos and feeds back so bad all you hear is a nasty loud noise. The picture keeps turning pink. Reolink support are quite good if you allow for the difference in time zones and translation issues. Its a shame really as if it worked as intended it would be a good item. Im stuck with one that is basically just a camera that i check manually if there is an issue.
These cameras aren’t to bad picture quality is good but with time laspe very short on detail, the pir can be a bit sensertive and then at to es not sensertive enough which I would guess is something to do with installation site but because you can change the view other than pointing it, but they do a good job
I’ve been using this camera for about a month and I have to say it’s a nice piece of kit. It has managed to weather extreme heat and rain and appears to be holding up nicely. It was easy to install and the solar panel saves you having to drill a huge 22mm hole through your walls to accommodate other cctv systems. The night vision isn’t perfect but is quite acceptable.
Update Mar 2020. Bought June 19. Camera stopped working. I noticed condensation on the lens obviously caused by an ingress of water. I contacted Reolink. They asked me to send photos and upon receipt they immediately sent me out a replacement unit. You can be confident of a 5 star after sales service from Reolink. I highly recommend this company as you can buy from them with confidence.
Bought this due to an ongoing dispute with my neighbour (sad I know). As it uses a rechargeable battery it was dead easy to set up. I even bought the solar panel so I don’t have to take it down to recharge.
The picture quality is very good. I have it on 1080p for 720 is quite good too. Night vision is very clear: the cam has even detected rats running across my front lawn at 3am!
The phone app is very easy to use and control the camera. Careful you don’t become obsessive about watching the house where you’re at work!
It does what it says on the tin however the app is slow to open and load and there is quite a considerable latency delay between live view and camera. So using it to talk to people at the door or check who is there can be a little pointless as it takes so long to load and respond that the person at the door may have gone by the time the app has opened. I purchased a separate memory card and it does store video well so if that’s more what you’re interested in then buy it – if you want something you can interact with live this may not be for you. Pluses – it’s easy to install. Solar power works great (even on cloudy days). Motion sensor is not bad at all – just wish the app opened quicker.
I’ve had mine about a week now. There are a lot of cameras to choose from and I took a punt with this one and so far I’m really pleased. It took me about half an hour to put up and ten minutes to set up by following the instructions provided. I can view the images from anywhere on my app. Picture quality is good both day and night. I use it to watch my house and I’m going to get another to watch my shed. The solar panel recharges the camera during the day whether the weather is bright or dull. All in all really pleased with the buy. It makes life very easy to have a wire less wifi device that doesn’t need a professional to install it and it’s easy to take with you if you move house.
