Easy installation with the help of a block of wood and lump hammer…taking care not to bend the edging.
Well made and sturdy would definitely buy again easy to install and well worth the mony and I’d definitely recommend them to other people
As an alternative to log roll it looks nice and hopefully will last longer.
Bought to edge a fire pit I built easy to install
Used this to edge a slightly raised area of lawn. It’s reasonably sturdy, though you need to cut a slot with a spade for it to sit in, and it is slightly fiddly to ease down. As others have said, it would be too bendy to hammer it down. That said, it is fairly easy to bend the edges in so that sharp parts aren’t exposed.
If you want it to stick up more than a couple of inches, you need to buy separate pegs or stakes, but I found these quite cheaply and easily.
Brought the edging for raised beds, I didn’t want plastic because it breaks too easily, so this has been a good alternative and it seems sturdy. Easy to install.
quick easy to place and shape used a few of these over time
Works well when used in lengths but doesn’t bend as hoped and has very sharp edges when cut. Overall good value for what it is though
Easy to install would have liked the order to include stajes. This shoukd last a lot linger tgan the wood.
This is perfect. Just what I needed. So much so that I have ordered more
As we have only had this edging for a few weeks I cannot comment upon its lasting quality. However, it is strong and very well made, and good and deep (some edgings are really not deep enough.). So far recommended for quality.
Great product to protect the lawn edge. Sturdy material and easy to manage. No sharp edges. came well packaged and arrived well before the expected delivery date. Brilliant!
Bought some edging from our local garden center it was 5 more and not as good quality
These are a bit of pig to install, but any similar product would be – you have to dig out deep enough for the run to lie level with the grass in order to avoid getting fouled by the lawn mower. But as a product, these are great – galvanised steel, corrugated. They will take some gentle encouragement with the back of spade to seat them into the ground, but obviously caution required or they will bend. Aviation snips required for cutting, but if you have the right tool, pretty easy to do. Produces a neat job when complete – just pack either side with soil, gravel or whatever to tidy up – the grass will regrow the inch or so you have pushed back. Don’t assume you can just push these into the ground however, at least not on the soil we have. Maybe around a sand-pit or something, but not into clay or heavy soil. You have to push the spade deep into the margin to create a crevasse.
These are excellent quality. You just have to make sure you set them in deep enough and don’t attempt to just knock them in with a mallett.
Very good ideal for borders easy to fit sturdy when in ground
During lockdown I spent A LOT OF TIME looking for raised bed options for my allotment and found this. I then got distracted building my allotment seating and flower area. This is a allotmenteers view. 100% recommend for defining a veg bed, cheaper than wooden options. At 15 cm height work with the lay of the land, as I added posts when raising higher planting areas. Toughness, good, gan be nailed into posts and keeps a good shape. Seems like it’ll las
I used it to contain the gravel surrounding a flower bed. It stops the gravel falling on the soil. Quite hard to get it deep enough in the soil but it looks very well once you’ve done it.
The product is sturdy but cannot be hammered in unless the ground is soft. I would recommend using support pegs as well
I have tried several different edging materials over the years and this is by far the best. You have to dig a trench as always with this type of edging but once it is so far in and you have back filled it a bit to support it, you can hammer it in. The rolled edge makes it strong enough to hammer directly but if the ground is on the harder side you can just put a plank on the top and hammer on top of that to stop the top getting damaged. It may go in better if one edge was sharp but then it may not be strong enough to pierce the ground. You would also need to have left and right hand rolls for doing curves easily.
I needed something to provide a hard edge to my pond to stop the grass growing into it and this fit the bill perfectly.
But, wear thick gloves when handling it, comes packed in boxes but when the strap around it is cut the coil expands rapidly, the ends and especially the corners are sharp, be very careful.
I sunk it into the ground slightly and then used some long galvanised staples to hold it against the edge of the grass, its not self supporting. Luckily I had a nibbler so cutting to length was easier than say a hacksaw. It is nice and stable now and finishes the edge perfectly.
Product easy to install in garden, perfect for borders , second time I have bought this and probably not the las
I was hoping it would be strong and it was even better than I thought it would be. A super product!
Wasn’t too sure initially, but looks great and does the job. A little cumbersome to install – just time and patience needed. Much better look than the previous log rolls.
Needed to seperate the soil and grass from our 6 x 3.5m decking which causing rot. Silly installation by the previous property owner. Dug trench around decking and this was put in . Blue slate chippings filled the trench.
Product…
Make sure to partially dig out to install this then back fill. If you don’t your attempts to mallet it in will end badly as it will fold over. Soil and or gravel on either side will help prevent it buckling under your mallet strikes.
Top tip… use a spade to cut a slot, use a hose pipe to soften the soil. The spade will also tell you if there are any stones or other hard things in the soil which will prevent you knocking it in.
Overall it’s good. Will see how well the galvanised metal holds up after a couple of years in the wet northwest.
Perfect, really easy to use, I hammered it in place looks so nice definitely recommend
I used this in my garden under a fence between mine and the neighbours boarder as they have different stone chipping stones me and are slightly higher up. It cut easily with tin snips and sunk in nicely to the soil between the chippings. Much stronger than the plastic alternative, for the job that I needed it for.
Used this as part of the base for my garden shed..
This is strong enough whilst being flexible to go along a curved path. Has made it look neat and no more earth spilling onto the walkway. Very pleased with it. Certainly worth ld recommend it..
Very easy to use, looks good. Ordered two more rolls.
Excellent product that provides a super edge to flower beds. Very easy to cut and install in to the ground using a rubber mallet. Very happy with the appearance achieved. Highly recommended.
Don’t underestimate the work involved in getting this installed. Digging a trench to accommodate the edging may not be easy. It will depend on how good or bad your soil is. Don’t think you can hammer it place – that just doesn’t work.
Once in place, however, it does a good job – or so it seems so far! I’ll be interested in seeing how it is next year.
Brilliant. Used for edging boundary of neighbour’s garden to stop weeds overflowing into my garden.
Not used as yet, but looks like it will do what I want it to do
Difficult to roll out and knock into ground by yourself and without damaging i
