My husband and I thought this would be a great addition to our front porch. We use smoker chips and roasted hotdogs over it. Very tasty out come. We have been experimenting with what burns longer so we aren’t constantly sticking stuff in the fire. It’s a fun little pit.
The product itself is great. Just as described. I had ordered 2 Mesas. I received 1 in a very small box just big enough to fit the actual product box. I tried contacting the company thru Amazon. It took at least 5 days for their response. In the meantime, I contacted the company. After waiting more than 24 hours for a call back I finally got the company to call me back. They said it was clearly not mailed in a box big enough for two and resolved the issue by sending out the second Mesa. The Amazon response came well after I had resolved the issue myself. The only response was- the box appears to have been big enough to have included 2.
provides a nice ambient flame, does not last long, well packaged, easy to put togethe
As a piece to provide some warmth and entertainment to friends or guests outdoors, this is a great product. As someone who once owned a Biolite camp stove, I was a believer that the only way to efficiently and completely burn wood to fine ash was from using the air flow fan of the Biolite camp stove. Well by golly, Solo Stove has proven me wrong. Fans and electricity have been proven to not be necessary. The Solo Stove Mesa is able to burn wood incredibly efficiently. The sticks I would put into it would somewhat slowly burn. I’d say that it would burn for about 10 minutes without the need for new sticks to be added into it plus I’d estimate that it takes about 30 minutes to burn out and cool down on a chilly night. I have not used the products during warmer summer evenings and nights so the cooldown time will probably be longer during that time of year. A very solid product overall. I look forward to buy a wood burning cooking stove from Solo Stove sometime in the future.
We like this for the ambiance, but wouldn’t say it helps with any heat.
I really love this product as and enjoyable to see the fire going up from it. It’s nice design with the second round of burn. The fire grows out a bit too high, so if you use indoor, it looks scary. So I place it under my chimney. It’s a bit pricy, but overall, enjoying it.
Happy with this product but unhappy the price got 40% dropped after I received mine.
It burns up the wood or pellets really fast so you have to keep feeding it constantly.
Love this but wish the wood was smaller. Maybe 4″ x 2″.
All the durability, quality, and design of a full-size Solo Stove, but at an attractive fraction of the size. Very much enjoy/ed!
This thing is pretty cool. I totally think it’s overpriced for what it is, but it’s fun nonetheless. I like that you can use wood or pellets. I actually opted to use the pellet insert and use wood smoking chips. It works! No smoke, good flame. The only thing about this that I dislike is that you burn through fuel REALLY fast, but that’s part of how it works.
Good product, but buy it from Solostove themselves. As of writing this, it’s only $79.99.
Our family loves this little stove. If you’re looking for major heat output go with a larger model but this one is perfect for smore’s and ambiance. It’s easy to use and to clean. We use this almost every night in our back yard. Highly recommend.
Wish I would have looked at their website b4 buying from Amazon. It’s only 79.99 there you also get an additional 10 bucks off if you buy 2.
I’m bummed I over paid but it’s awesome. I’m buying another from solostove.com!!
Just received this little gem today, and the photo you see is my first trial run on the front porch. I used hardwood pellets and as you can see, it puts off a nice warm flame. I put in about two healthy handfuls and the flame lasts about 12 minutes. I will try sticks of wood next time. Regardless, I think this is going to be just the thing to keep us out on the front porch long into chilly evenings in the western NC mountains.
Awesome little fire pit….maybe it would be nice if they made a great deflector for this one too
This is so AWESOME!!! We have had so much fun getting and keeping the fire going. It now makes us want a bigger solo fire pit for the nights we are outside. Truly great experience and enjoyment. Well worth the money. Thank you for inventing this. Memories are being made.
Love it! Clean burning, no heat transfer to my table. Easy to use!
