Shipped with a sealed AAA battery ready for use. Use mine in an indoor bike shed to track temperature and rising humidity as the session progresses. I can’t vouch for the absolute accuracy but it tracks changes and seems quite sensitive. Good value for money.
Bought this as the heat in my room was getting to points where I felt like I was going to faint (computer in a small room during the summer is a recipe for disaster). Has worked amazingly and I know to turn the computer off and take a break outside when it starts to get to 29C.
It tells the temperature and humidity of the room. Nice and petite so it isn’t actually fullon and in your face. Very pleased with it and no complainrs so far.
Bought to replace an old one I’d had years, this one is very accurate as far as I can tell and gives virtually identical readings to our much more expensive ones.
Battery was included in the package which was good to see. using the little stand on the back, but it also has a small magnet on the back for putting on the fridge or anywhere else magnetic.
Had reason to contact customer service this week as my thermometer purchased Oct 23 broke. The display staarted being unreadable. Never dealt with a company so well. Explained the problem was told a replacement would be sent out and could they have an address and contact email to arange this. It arrived within a week. Not only did l receive a replacement for the faulty product they actually sent 2 of them. what a company. A*****. Thanks.

I bought this for my server room, to keep an eye on the temperature and humidity levels to ensure the room wasnt going to cause damage to the equipment in there. It’s lovely, cheap and works! I tested it against another thermometer I had and it was spot on. When the humidity is at the correct level, you get a little smiley face and so it proudly sits smiling at me 🙂
I don’t know if this is a way to save battery and it isn’t a big deal in most cases since you get the humidity and temperature that is all you really need, however you’d think there would always be a face to indicate good, bad or meh conditions. The cost is average and there’s nothing to complain about, it does it’s job in providing measures of temperature as promised, however if you’re expecting the face to always appear, you’re going to need to face the fact it isn’t always there.
I cannot comment on the accuracy as I have nothing to calibrate it against but it shows increases and decreases when expected. I also cannot rate “temperature control” for which a star rating is requested because it doesn’t set out to do this. It is a straightforward, easy to read gauge used in our bathroom to monitor humidity and we are completely happy with it.
I bought this while waiting and deciding on what dehumidifier to buy for our home. We live in a damp climate and I knew I needed to buy one to monitor the humidity. Prevention is key to avoid later problems. The quality is great and it works very well. It’s super simple to set up and I leave it attached to my fridge where I can easily see the display at all times. It seems to measure the humidity quite effectively. Nice easy display to read.
I have it on my fridge in the kitchen so i can see the humidity level for when working with wafer paper, also helps with my display cakes too. Great that it has the temperature as well. Works well, magnet sticks to the fridge well, easy to read/understand
There is a magnet at the back so you can pin it on a fridge for instance, but also a little pull-up piece to have it standing on a shelf or desk.
Digital display is large enough to see the numbers without trouble, I’m thinking it would be very convenient for an elderly person or to have in a baby room.
I thought my thermostat was off as I felt cold. So I bought this to see if it was broken. Nope.. just me being nesh. (Stokie term for not liking the cold) I put a bigger jumper on.
i baught 4 of them one for each room and they are mostly accruate in the temp but the weather part is bad i have seen it say its fine when its pooring with rain outside.
so if all you want is something to tell what the temps are like in each room they are a bargin but if you are expecting the humidity part to work you will be dissapointed.
Used the built-in magnet to attach it to the front of the fridge at eye level. Bright and clear display. I have a similar gadget upstairs but a different make. Brought that downstairs to compare the two and the readings were very similar so no problems there. Good purchase.
This works accurately as humidity levels clearly go up when it’s exposed to wet washing, steam, then go down when a window is opened. It’s encouraging me to open my window more often in winter first thing and if I’m having to dry washing indoors, to bring the humidity levels down.
I wanted to be able to check the humidity in my house as I was getting some mould appearing on skirting boards etc. Buying 6 was cheaper per item and I’m glad I bought that many as I was able to check they were all showing the same readings when i first got them and I can just easily check each room.
It arrives exactly the same as it appears in the product shot though it is smaller than I expected. No smiley or sad faces indicated next to the humidity reading. I wonder if it should be so?!

This is a very small item but does what it says on the box. Didnt realise it was so small but works very well. Happy with the product.
It’s not 100% accurate but just enough to give me an idea of what the environment my room is currently like. if you want scientific accuracy then pay the appropriate price.
Seems accurate, has a stand on the back plus a nail hook and magnet which is handy. Not the strongest magnet but works ok on a flat surface. I use it for temp and humidity around my house plants – it gets moved fairly regularly. Also comes with battery. I’ve not bought a second yet but will do later in the year when the heating goes on and the house dries out.
I love it. It does it’s job well and I will be buying more. I particularly like the fact that it has a little flip out kick stand so it can just sit on your desk and does not need to be mounted to a wall.

Thermometer works well and the moisture in the air shows the same as my dehumidifier. Works well, nice and compact.
The only thing that made me give it 4 stars is that it doesn’t have a standard or something. You just have to keep it balanced upright, so it’s easy to accidentally knock it over.

Using this to check the office environment. Checked against calibrated equipment and it’s fairly close and good enough for an indicative measurement.

I love this little unit. I have it wall mounted with a simple single screw, in my workshop to monitor ambient temps for when pouring resin.
It seems very accurate and the added humidity reading is handy for when storing slabs of wood and comparing to in home humidity.
At the price, I am going to buy another for my home office to keep an eye on how warm it’s getting through the summer.
It is easy to use . Does what it says .However, i don’t have any other to compare with .so i take it at face value for now .
These thermometers arrived quickly, are adequate for intended use and are easy to read. They all seem to display the same temperature which is good, but one of them doesn’t work at all, so I am one short, but not intending on purchasing another because one has failed. I was going to buy individually at first, but then I saw a better offer for a pack of 4 and went with that, maybe I shouldn’t have changed my mind as it has now cost me more in the long run!
We have one in the most used rooms. Great for checking humidity, as it’s cheaper to heat dry air.
Easy to wall mount. I’ve bought 5 so far and they all give similar readings when together so I’m assuming they are pretty accurate!
Small and compact. I have put these in the worst offending rooms and I am now able to fix the dampness issues before they really arise.

Bought these as I have varying room temperatures in the house. I also wanted to check on humidity in rooms for condensation. Has made me more aware and might buy a humidifier now I can see the impact of cold and rain on my windows. Seem pretty accurate and easy to set up.

I’m using this to monitor the temperature in an upstairs room and it seems to be very accurate easy to use.
To really test the accuracy of this I’d need a second one, but it does adjust between rooms, so appears responsive. Very easy to use.

Our hive central heating thermometer, a serious bit of kit, consistently reads lower temperatures than this unit so I can only think this isn’t too accurate. Good job I bought it for the humidity reading.

With the cost of heating rising, bought this thermometer to have a visual indicator of room temperatures. Not just relying on myself saying ‘oh it’s cold today’ and putting on the heating when in fact the room temperature is bearable by putting on a jumper! It’s a neat and easy to read monitor. Happy with purchase, would buy again.

This is easy to read and seems to be accurate and easy to use. Helps keeping the room nice and warm especially now we have to watch the bills.
This is my second device I use one upstairs and one downstairs near the central heating thermostat. It appears to be accurate and gives me an idea as to how warm the house is ,not too hot or cold. I do not want to waste energy in view of the times we live in. It also uses a AAA battery which is more powerful than a coin battery. Recommended.
This is the 3rd unit that I have, I do like them for easy to read info. The only thing that is a small problem is one of my units sits over my PC and falls to the floor, this is becouse the pad on the back of the magnet heats up. I have stopped this with a small pack behind the magnet, secured with super glue. The product is worth the price.

It’s always the same with Amazon, they ask you to rate an item a fews days or maybe one week after receiving it. An item could be working perfectly for a week or two and then a problem.
So, rating something so soon after the purchase is not a good idea
Tested within 0.5c accuracy when compared with another device. Unobtrusive but easy to read.
These are handy little devices to tell you what temp is currently being experienced. They seem reliable. Also helps resolve domestic disputes about hot or cold it really is.
Relative humidity information is also helpful as has flagged that room humidity levels are higher than they should be – something we were completely unaware of, so now open windows more to improve ventilation.
In these days of increasing fuel bills, we bought this to determine exactly how cold we were, or weren’t. We already had another one in another room and placing both in the same location they give near identical readings. So I am prepared to believe they are fairly accurate. We have cranked the heating down to 18.5C and bought onesy’s, we look like gigantic teddy bears, but hopefully warm ones. It is nice to be able to see at a glance what the temperature is.
We had a issue with a shower extractor fan that is triggered by the increase in humidity when the shower is used. It has been possible to monitor the background humidity in the shower room and then to set the fan at the lowest point of increase. Prior to this the fan would run for up to six hours once set off; a somewhat challenging for anyone trying to sleep in the en suite bedroom.
Has this version in my greenhouse running an electric heater for 5 years now, greenhouse contains carnivorous plants which need to be kept damp so a very damp environment. Suspend the temp sensor from the ridge to measure air temperature. Has worked flawlessly. Don’t use the cooling aspect but no reason to doubt it. Have purchased this item again to run a heating cable in a propagator tray. Straightforward to program, set a target temperature at which to shut off, then an allowed drop before restarting. Eg 25C and 2C heats until reaches 25C then shuts off power, restart heating when temperature falls to 23C. Similar for cooling cool to a temp, then off, restart cooling when temp rises by set amount. Like being able to simply plug in a13A plug direct from the heater, and reliability.
Up to press I like these tech gadgets. I bought two to see what the temperature and humidity is on the ground floor and first floor of my home. I fitted one at the side of my heating thermostat and the digital display temperatures are the same, so that is good for my benefit. Only time will tell us how reliable they are so only gave four stars. Thank you.
I tested the thermometer with different voltage levels (provided by a programmable DC power supply). It seems to be able to operate between 1.0V and 1.65V but the lower the voltage the lower the contrast of the LCD screen becomes. At 1.4V the drop in contrast isn’t significant so using the same AAA alkaline battery for two years (like I did) isn’t an issue. At 1.3V there is a noticeable drop in contrast: the segments are semi-transparent/grey instead of sharp black. At 1.1V the LCD screen is barely readable. For the above reasons using 1.2V or 1.25V rechargeable AAA batteries might not be a good idea.
Viewing angles: the LCD is sharpest when viewed from top/left/right, a bit less sharp from the front and significantly less sharp from bottom. Very typical design in case of segmented LCD displays.
If I leave my two TP49 and two TP50 thermometers on my desk to let them stabilise then their temperature measurements are very close. The difference between the lowest and highest reading is at most 0.2C (but sometimes all of them show the exact same readings) and they seem to agree with my mercury thermometer too. The difference between the lowest and highest humidity measurements can be up to 7-8%. Three of the thermometers are very close to each other (within a 3% range) but one of the TP50 units provides a noticeably higher value when the humidity is above 50-60%. At lower humidity (30-40%) the spread between the measurements isn’t as high. Most of these seem to satisfy the claimed specs (1C and 2-3%RH) except the humidity readings on one of my TP50 units. (However, in case of humidity most people don’t need very accurate readings.) This isn’t military-grade precision but I don’t expect much better from an inexpensive consumer-oriented device. The downside to this is that you may get a dud if you buy only one unit.
Comparing the TP49 (this model) to the TP50: the most obvious difference is that the TP50 is a bit larger (both the display and the frame around it which includes thickness of the device: 2.0cm VS 1.5cm) and it remembers the lowest and highest readings since the last reset. In terms of design there are pros and cons on both the TP49 and the TP50 side:
The reflective LCD background of the TP50 is lighter which seems to result in a bit better contrast. However, I prefer the LCD of the TP49. My problem with the TP50 is that with a full battery (1.5V or higher) the inactive LCD segments become too visible when I look at the display at an angle (45+ degrees from the left/top/right). I prefer the display layout of the TP49: it shows the temperature at the top of the screen. The TP50 shows the humidity at the top (with a bit larger/taller numbers than what it uses for the temperature value and I find that a bit annoying).
The design of the battery cover of the TP49 is inferior. Opening the battery compartment requires only a minimal amount of pressure on the central snap-fit joint that is easy to apply accidentally by simply picking up the thermometer. Without touching that area the lid seems to be secure enough. The TP50 changed and improved the design of the battery compartment significantly.
Unlike the TP50 the TP49 can be attached to the head of a screw or nail. The magnet in the TP49 is smaller and shiny, it is located at the centre instead of the top. Attaching it to a flat surface with screw/nail or magnet obstructs the holes on its backside and that might affect it readings or the speed at which it follows changes to temperature/humidity. The TP50 has a larger dark ferrite magnet at the top: even after attaching it to a flat surface there is a 1mm gap for the ventilation holes on the backside.
Both the TP49 and TP50 have a 10 second refresh rate. This seems to be a reasonably good balance between battery life and response time. Their power consumption patterns seem to be very similar: both models spend about 7 seconds in idle and 3 seconds with reading the sensors and updating the info on the screen (during a full 10 second refresh cycle). Based on my measurements the TP50 seems to consume a bit more.
