This product is well made, good value for money and easy to install!
I had a slight issue with the transformer throwing out the wrong voltage but a quick email chat with Laura at Topens saw a new transformer posted out to me immediately. Also, they didn’t encumber me with the hassle of sending back the old part. Cannot praise the customer service highly enough, they really took care of me.
Decided to get the heavy duty option as we live in an exposed area and are often subjected to very windy conditions, so wanted to make sure the gate held solidly on closure.
Found the product to be very sturdy and is easy to install with clear instructions.
Customer service support is superb with very quick response to any query.
Bought a TOPENS 8131 for my single 3.6m Yeoman Gate due to the heavy weight and it is fantastic. 3 adjustments (speed, slow closing at either end and automated closing time).
I did have to buy an IP rated box for both power supply and control box to go in and look like a proper system but really please overall. Worth adding a wireless keypad and lock though which adds an extra 100. Still all in for 500 including armoured cable so great value for money. You do have to know what you’re doing in term of installing but it’s easy enough. Great purchase!
We had a problem with the sensor, which was quickly and easily sorted out after a couple of e-mails, which were very quickly responded to.
The gate is much faster than the one we replaced. Replacement parts seem to be very reasonably priced, if someone runs into the gate with a tractor and trailer, which is what happened to the last one.
So far we’re very impressed.
Easy to install – make sure the gate is the open position when installing
We’ve bought this kit plus 2 extra key fobs , wireless keypad&lock . This was easy to fit and opens a large metal farm gate with ease.everything is in the box to get you going and your gate opening. Great value and a solid product!
This is a fabulous product, it was really easy to install, looks great and is quiet and smooth when operated.
Customer service is excellent, I had a few questions about installing the product, these were dealt with quickly by Zack in customer service.
I couldn’t be happier with this product and would recommend it to anyone wishing to install an electric gate motor.
Product used for front entrance to the farm and took me 3 hours to install from start to finish. All products are to a high standard and quality. I ran mine off standard ac mains. Instructions are easy to guide you through the process. I purchased the extra add on accessory of the gate lock and this was also easy to install although, I hit a snag and couldn’t figure out what I did wrong and I emailed support and they emailed me back next day during our Easter period with the fix (my fault) and the matter was resolved. I also assigned multiple keys to my gate easily .
They have a 24/7 support package included and overall what a value for money product.

It’s taken a couple of months since getting this to find someone to fit it to our gate, but finally, after a couple of weeks’ use, this automatic opener has turned out to be pretty good. It’s quite heavy-duty, relatively easy to fit, and is so far working well. Four stars.
Hi, I purchased this product as it was in the price range I’d decided to spend on automating my gate. I was sceptical as it was a lot cheaper than similar products available. On arrival I was very impressed with the quality of the product and looked at the instructions for fitting. Everything was simple and clearly explained. As a novice it took me approx 6 hrs including the locking mechanism I purchased separately. I contacted customer services regarding a small issue wiring the lock and they were excellent. Very happy with the purchase up to now.
Easily installed sturdy, quality gate opener, once the instructions have been carefully studied. Customer service very helpful in resolving final adjustment problem.
In actual sense, this came well packaged and well protected.
Although i will advise you to get a good technician to do the installation for you if you know you can’t really read and understand the installation manual very well.
But it’s not difficult atall. It has an extendable gate arm, a UPS, 2 keys, a manual, installation hardware, and several other pieces of equipment were packaged together in the box.
You can either connect it with power socket or via sola power and battery, although mine was done throug the power socket and it worked fine.
It is waterproof so you don’t have to worry about water damage of it. You can either do inward installation or outwards installation.
An observation i made was that if the gate is obstructed, it will not open and it will be blinking a light whilst opening it.
It has a remote control that can only be used to open it and whilst opening the noise is not too much.
Above all, I am so impressed with the performance sofar and will surely recommend it.
Great quality. Easy to install . Very impressed for the money . Better value than the topens medium duty kit as it comes with the power supply ,sensor beams and obviously a more substantial /stronger opner.
The opener stopped working with the remotes. Customer Service gave me instructions on how to reset them, this didn’t work. When I replied saying it didn’t work they sent me a new circuit board that arrived the next day. Excellent company to work with.
Security is now just a click away with this automatic gate opening device. Which is amazing and works great.
My dad lives far on his farmhouse. I have always been worried sick about his safety and security but not anymore! After I receive the gate opener.
Since he was robbed while opening the gate, I’ve been on the lookout for an automatic gate opener.
When I received this device, it came well-packed with multiple other accessories. An extendable gate arm, a UPS, 2 keys, a manual, installation hardware, and several other pieces of equipment were included.
It was simple to connect with the gate. Just took me around 4 hours. I then connected it to a nearby power socket. It can also be solar-powered or connected to a battery for a 24/7power supply.
The device is waterproof, secure, and definitely durable. There are 2 installation modes, inwards and outwards. When obstructed, the gate is prevented from opening and a blinking light warns when it’s opening. Can only be opened via remotes provided and also set to self-close. Low-noise too.
Topens lifetime customer support and a 1-year warranty are the cherries on top!
A must-have for a lazy person like me who hates getting out and opening the gate.
Make sure you consider the gate on which you’re planning on installing this product. It is a heavy duty swing gate opener, although advertised as a residential gate opener – this isn’t suitable for smaller gates.
There is advice on maximum gate length / weight but no indication of minimum values.
If you do have a suitable gate then this is a high quality product. It’s robust and, according to my electrician neighbour, would be relatively uncomplicated to install.
Unfortunately my current gate is not suitable. Although advertised as being fit for a wooden gate, I’m not so sure. Wood will naturally deteriorate and having a very heavy device fitted to it could expedite this.
I’m hoping to upgrade my gate in the near future, which will be is an appropriate material allowing me to install this.

Fitted and programmed easily.
Once up and running works very well.
The remote range is brilliant I can press the fob way over 50m away and open the gate.
Also the gate open much quicker than I expected..
