This security camera works really well, has a decent quality image and easy to use software.
The camera is easy to mount wherever is convenient and can be charged via USB cable or its accompanying solar panel. The solar panel vs a decent length of cable so you have good options for mounting the camera where you need it while having it permanently charged.
The weather-proofing hasn’t failed so far and the camera rotation is nice and smooth.
Quite a few advanced features are included such as:
* motion sensing
* decent quality night vision
* alarms and scheduling
The software is pretty good, easy to install, fluid live viewing and follow and the ability to configure schedules and alarms.
Video storage is either direct to an on-board microSD card or to a paid for cloud service.
The only issue I’ve had with this device is its initial configuration: it requires a 2.4GHz WiFi to connect to the app, this is only during the initial configuring and assuming you have a dual 5/2.4 GHz WiFi requires that you temporarily knock down your mobile to 2.4GHz. This is not difficult to do but may be a little technical for some users, and there isn’t much help in the documentation as to how to deal with this situation.
Great camera, motion detection sensitive which is a good thing but you can adjust it easily
Siren is a bonus that you can activate from your phone to scare an intruder & wake up the neighbours!
Very nice and useful product.
This is the second one which I buy it as I have one on back yard and one in front of the house.
Easy to install as on solar battery you don’t need to worry how to conect with any cable from inside of the house because you will not need it.
Also the app is very friendly and easy to conect it to app via WiFi.
The quality of the images is very good even the night mode you can see everything as in my screen shot.
The move motion is very nice as you can set to receive a notification when someone will be in the area.
The app have even a cloud available if you want to or if not will work very nice even with sdcard.
You also have speaker if you want to spoke true the camera.
Over all helpful and clear recomand if you want to feel more safety for you and your house.
Just what I was after, great visual deterrent for the security conscious, self powered now that everyone of us is watching their energy consumption. Good picture quality, notifications received direct to my phone via the cloud app installed.
I don’t know if this is easy to fix up and set up as someone did this for me., The person who did it said they had no problems. All I know is it works well and I can see who is at the door which makes me feel a lot safer . Also when the dogs bark I don’t have to go down two flights of stairs to check if anyone there or just the dogs being idiots . Good camera .
Having had a carreer in IT, it take a lot to impress me when it comes to technology…but this camera has impressed me a lot – so impressed I bought a second.
It took only seconds to connect to the internet and setup the account…I’ve chosen the memory card option and i’m equally impressed with the storage capacity.
The camera is very sturdy, and the design of the mounting makes it easy to attached to a wall etc.
The solar panal provides all the power you require even on a cloudy day.
The router is located in the middle of our house and the 1st camera is located on a shed in the back garden an operates really well at 44% wifi connection…the second camera is outside the front door, and is working great at 77% wifi connection.
If you are looking for a solar powered camera to work on wifi – this one is great.
A great quality camera both day and night vision at a really affordable price – currently only 79.99 which i think is great value for money.
It charges with the solar panel included so its a great option is no power is available. The picture quality is clear and the motion sensitivity is spot on – Doesn’t get triggered by every blow of a leave but is triggered enough if a person walks by or an animal which is what we desired.
It feels sturdy and has lasted through some pretty wet and windy weather lately which makes me believe its durable.
Needs a SD card or you can pay for cloud storage.
HAs the typical functions like the two way audio and you can turn the camera via the app. The app itself generally works very well and is a more responsive app I general than another camera i own which takes forever to load – this one is more quick.
Very pleased with this and would highly recommend
Excellent quality camera, solar panel was much smaller than I was expecting. A great camera that doesn’t require running cable/power or constant battery changes. It’s also priced really well and so doesn’t break the bank. Picture quality is up there with my other HD security cams and the PTZ functions works great.
Bought it to spy on my duck, can’t fault it at all!
XTU 360 Wireless PTZ Security Camera Outdoor, 15000mAh Rechargeable Battery CCTV Camera with Pan 355 Tilt 120, 1080P Wifi Home IP Camera, PIR Motion Detection, 2-Way Audio, Cloud&SD Card Storage
It has taken me some time to review this as I kept forgetting to buy a SD card and I could only watch the now but couldn’t look back at anything so I’m glad finally got my card this is really good camera we use it to overlook out garage area.
You get notifications if anyone Is on the driveway, it has to way voice control very good value for money very hard wearing for outdoor use too.
Excellent XTU 360 Camera with solar panel, easy to install 24/7 security. Picture quality Excellent
And being able to pan 360 is good, brakets for Camera and solar installation easy.
I had problem with notification from Camera ,Contacted XTUCAM sorted within 15 minutes
excellent service from them 5*
I really like this camera, we wanted one for our garage which doesn’t have an electric hook up so I needed something that was rechargeable. This camera is really clever, it has a small solar panel which attaches above the camera separate and aids in recharging the inbuilt battery inside the camera. The camera runs off wifi which is perfect as it’s near the house enough connect.
The picture is clear, and rewinding the video is easy! You can be alerted via the app and manoeuvre the camera via the app too. The actual camera feels substantial, well made, quite heavy but really well made. So far it’s held up nicely in the various British weather.
This item has been ok so I’m pleased with i
This camera comes with everything needed to mount it to a vertical surface. You screw in a back plate to the wall then the camera attaches to that with some easily removable thumb screws. The charging panel has a separate mount which can be mounted remotely from the camera in order to get the most from the sun.
The app was easy enough to install and it took a minute or two to connect the camera to my BT WiFi network. I have been running it for a few weeks now and the connection appears to be stable. Likewise the app seems to be running well (Android version). It connects to the camera quickly and I can view and control the camera remotely.
Picture quality is very good compared to other cameras I have tried. The images are crisp and even in low light you can recognise facial features from a decent distance. The night vision mode is okay but let down slightly by the limited amount of IR LEDs. Sound quality is good and you can talk from your phone to the camera to scare off intruders or give instructions to delivery people and so on.
Battery life is a difficult one to measure at the moment. It is the middle of summer here and therefore the solar panel is getting a lot of sun and keeping the camera topped up. I will hold my full judgement until a winter has passed here in the north of Scotland where the days are very short and the sun very low and weak.
Overall though I am impressed by this camera. It has a decent set of features, is easy to set up and produces good quality images. Recommended.
I love this CCTV camera, it can recharge the battery in sun light so i don’t need to wire anything which very neat and clean. The picture quality is supper clear. I also like the mobile where i can watch footage. Thanks
Fully independent camera which great quality for asking price. No expensive set up, no need to drill halls in wall.
Just need to choose 2.4ghz internet as was struggling to connect, once read manual found out need to connect 2.4ghz. It will not work if choose 5ghz wifi or smart wifi.
Once set up correctly it works perfectly. Great colourful picture quality on day time, on night time it’s grey picture but quite clear.
Overall great self charging camera which can be placed all around house where wifi reaches.
Have a look to my pictures to see real size , hope it will be helpful to decide if it’s suitable for personal needs or not.
This is the best webcam used for home security. It is very easy to install. It works with solar power and Wi-Fi functionality. It rotates both vertically and horizontally so that it can cover the surrounding area around our house. This webcam is provided with two-way audio which helps to talk to the other person outside the house using the App. It is provided with RIP motion detection which detects human movement and reduces false alarms. It has a built-in HiSilicon chip and colour sensor which helps to provide images and videos irrespective of the weather conditions. It also has a night vision mode with which it can capture photos and videos even during the night times.
The XTU Outdoor Security Camera is pretty decent and has a lot of features for the price. At the time of writing, the price is 109.99 with a 35.00 voucher, bringing it down to 74.99, making it a more appealing purchase. The camera is simple to set up; simply charge it using the included USB cable. Install the cloud edge app and follow the in app set up process. Install the camera 2-3 metres above the ground and angularly for the best motion detection. Install the solar panel near the camera and connect it to the micro USB charging port on the camera. When installing the solar panel, make sure it is in a location where it will receive the most sunlight. The Cloudedge app is very easy to use. You can use the app to take screenshots, record videos, and move the camera positions on your device. Zoom in and out, 355 Pan, 120 Tilt, two-way audio, and more. I also have two other security cameras that use the Cloudedge App, so I can view them all at once in the app. If you want to check the history of activities, you’ll need an SD card, which isn’t included. There is also a cloud subscription service. The image quality is excellent in both day and night modes. Overall, a well-made camera feels reasonably sturdy and should last a long time. The wide-angle view and pan & tilt feature of this camera are fantastic. The camera moves smoothly and responsively from the app on my phone. When motion is detected, alert notifications are almost instant. The ability to grant shared access to my family is also a useful feature when we are on vacation. Because it is solar powered, it can be installed in a location that does not require mains power.
This does deliver a good level of functionality. It doesn’t record 24/7, only when it detects movement.
I initially had a problem setting up the sensitivity levels as I was getting notifications about the slightest movement. My cat often set it off.
I turned down the sensitivity and it works better for me. It detects humans and discounts the little movements you get in gardens.
The picture quality is good. If wax easy to install and linked well with my WiFi, despite the router being at the front of the house and the camera at the rear.
During these sunny days I’ve not noticed any issues with the amount of energy stored by the solar panels. I guess it may be different during winter months, time will tell.
It does have a usb power outlet so you could easily charge it fully during the day and hope the sunlight keeps it topped up when needed.
I ordered this Solar security camera to overlook my shed at bottom of the garden.
Arrived in small well branded box.
Very robust and modern looking home surveillance system, amazing technology.
Able to set up without electrician and wires, just set up to WIFI and you get full 360 degree coverage direct to your smart phone.
Great quality picture day and night, also get alerts when motion is detected.
Full home surveillance without expensive set-up or even electric inflated prices.
Overall, for just a one off expense this solar camera is excellent value. Best compliment I have is you don’t sacrifice any features or quality to have an indenpent solar device.
I would recommend this product.
This solar powered cctv camera is a pan and tilt rotateable with night vision and motion detection feature. Great camera with built-in 15000mAh battery rechargeable with solar panel. Also has a feature of 2 way audio so you can communicate with whoever is in the range of camera.
This 4x digital zoom camera can do 355 x 120 tilt and pan rotation. 2 wifi antennas let the camera to connect with WiFi signals without any problem. 3M cable with solar panel gives you flexibility to install easily where the sun is. Easy to setup and install. It takes micro sd card to record and save events. Overall a great device, well made and works perfectly fine. At the time of review this product was available for 119.99 plus extra 35 off voucher.
: Top Tip : It has two way audio, letting you have a conversation with someone at the other end of the video feed. Or, more likely, you could make cute noises to your cat who is watching the camera with great suspicion, and is one step away from eating it.
: Top Tip : Warning : It won’t run off a 5GHz network. Only a 2.4GHz network. Check before buying.
:At 129.99, at the time of writing,
This :
: Solar Security Camera Outdoor, XTU Wireless WiFi 360 Camera Outdoor, Rechargeable Solar Powered Camera, Home Surveillance Camera with 1080P Night Vision, PIR Motion Detection, 2 Way Audio, IP66
Is a cracking bit of CCTV technology kit .
Packaging :
It arrives in a lovely, shiny, professional, retail ready box.
The level of packaging is not excessive, or profligate, and is just enough to keep the product safe, and out of the box in good condition.
It makes a very good first impression.
Recycling :
Most of the packaging can be recycled, including the inner contents.
Contents :
Out of the box, and the contents are easily catalogued:
1 x XTU Outdoor Camera
1 x Metal Mount
1 x Solar Panel (3m cable)
1 x Screws Sets
1 x 1.2m USB Cable (no charger)
1 x User manual
Very nice.
Everything needed to get up and running, straight out of the box.
Features :
It comes supplied with an attached 1.2m USB cable.
The camera only operates when it detects movement.
This not only saves time, trawling through hours of footage, looking for a certain activity on your system, when all you have recorded is motionless empty footage.
It also saves power, as it is not on when it is not needed.
Instead, what you are presented with, when viewing recordings, is a highlights package of everything that happened on the camera’s field of vision, within a certain timeframe.
The motion detection can send you alerts.
You can select certain zones for detection e.g. the garden path or driveway.
I would give my zones posh names, like “The Grand Library” just to see the alerts being delivered with posh names attached.
It also has a night vision feature.
Great for recording wildlife, as well as furtive activity on your property.
The quality of the image is excellent both in the day and night vision.
The cameras can show the night time image in colour, just by changing the setting on the App from B&W to colour.
The quality of the video is really excellent, and worth highlighting.
It has two-way audio enabled, meaning you can shout at any potential burglars (not recommended!) or listen in to your wife singing in the bedroom (also not recommended – for differing, but equally valid reasons).
The camera can be linked into Alexa, by enabling her skill, and you can endlessly shout at her to “Display Grand Ballroom” or ” Show me my Treasure Room” endlessly, as she attempts to find your posh rooms.
To be fair, the Alexa skill is very good, and works well.
Mostly – as with everything Alexa.
With night vision, a clever AI, and some neat touches, such as the way it can act as a camera trap, recording when it detects any movement, and alerting you immediately, or the Alexa integration, the camera comes with some seriously cool tech.
Build Quality :
The build quality is excellent.
It is chunky, tight, and well put together.
It has no loose screws, no rattles, or squeaks, and no poorly finished areas, making the whole thing well built, and made with care, and attention.
The battery life is very good, and is quick to recharge.
Recharging from it’s solar panel, it keeps itself topped up nicely, with no further power needed, even on the days when the sun didn’t shine all day.
The solar charging system is excellent.
Simple and intuitive, it is easy to get up and running, and easy to operate.
A micro SD card is needed for recording, unless you opt for cloud storage.
It requires formatting before use, using the FAT32 system.
A wee bit of a technological throwback, but no bother to implement.
Set Up :
Set up is easy.
Before fixing this to your chosen wall, download the App, register an account, add your device, and the system will guide you through the next few easy to follow steps.
It takes a few minutes, but without any special training, or electrician skills needed, anyone can get it up and running with a wee bit of DIY and a wee bit of IT savvy, it is easy enough to get it up and running.
The clear, well written, and easy to follow instructions make it simple enough to follow, and easy for anyone to get up and running within a fairly short space of time.
Performance :
It performs perfectly, living up to it’s high price tag.
The images it produces are high quality, and very professional.
Smooth as a bag of buttered frogs , the video recorded is excellent quality, and has very good audio, and video.
It is brilliant that you only have to view highlights, as it only records when it detects movement.
Meaning that it saves power, it saves time, and it saves storage space, making the storage needs much smaller.
Having 360 degree visibility around the camera makes having extra cameras unnecessary, and means that this one camera is enough to protect a large part of your property, if not all of it.
Down Sides :
No downsides were noted during testing.
Value :
Value wise, it feels like this delivers the goods.
The top notch, super high quality that you get with this camera, makes it a great buy.
I would happily pay the asking price.
Summary :
Overall, this is excellent.
It is well designed, well put together, and beautifully finished.
It is well put together, with a good overall build quality, and some good details.
It is pretty good value, and feels like a good buy.
For the money, it is a very professional bit of kit.
I am a proud owner, and user, and I am happy to have had the privilege of reviewing it.
Recommendation :
I do not hesitate to recommend it as highly as I can.
I hope you enjoyed our time together .
Thank you for reading my review .
This is a great product for giving extra piece of mind when it comes to home security. Easy to install, the camera is completely wireless thanks to the solar panel and WIFI functionality. This means there are no fiddly wires to connect. Once connected to your home WIFI system, you can easily maintain a 360-degree view of the area around the camera, with good picture quality and the option of saving pictures if required. Neat product that offers a good level of functionality.
This camera comes boxed with accessories including USB charging cable, solar panel, mount, screws and manual.
The first thing I did was charge up the camera indoors, which didn’t take long. The camera was relatively easy to install and feels solid on its mount, though it does have to be mounted out of reach as the controls are easily accessible otherwise. The camera and solar panel have so far proved waterproof.
Setting the camera up on my wireless network didn’t take long – like many cameras it won’t run off a 5GHz network so you need a 2.4GHz network. Cloud storage is available for recordings but I prefer to just use a micro-SD card. This however has to be formatted as FAT32, which is a rather outdated format.
In operation, the camera works very well. The CloudEdge app is easy to navigate and use, with settings clearly laid out. The camera can be rotated almost all the way around horizontally and has decent coverage up and down as well. Motion detection and night vision are also very effective so in terms of performance I have no complaints and I am very happy with this security camera.
Perfect for the front of a house. I have one similar so I gave this one to my sister which she appreciated as she lives alone and likes to feel safe. What better a way than to have electronic eyes to keep her feeling safe and confident.
My partner put it up for her and she got it up and running in no time.
She does not have as much sun at the front of her as I do but she’s not complained
The camera has the ability to pan and tilt so great for surveying the front of her house.
In conjunction with her ring doorbell bell, internal cameras and now this external cameras she’s feeling quite safe.
I hope you found this review helpful
Easy to install and use, good effect, clear picture, good sound quality, good recording, it does not need electricity, can work 24 hours
This is quite a neat package. In the box you get the camera, solar panel and mount, fixing screws, and charging cable.
The camera itself is really easy to set up, in fact it’s one of the easiest CCTV cameras I’ve ever set up.
You have to give the camera a charge to full using the mains before first use, when this is done you can pop the micro SD card into the bottom and press the on button.
When it’s charging you get a light on the front that flashes, and when the camera is on you also get another light on the front.
Download the app and follow the simple instructions, I like the fact that you don’t have to mess about plugging this into the router to set it up, it is all done wirelessly.
I don’t like the fact that the on/off buttons and the SD cards are just secured under a rubber flap, anyone can pop it off and remove the card/turn it off if it is lower down.
When the app is set up it’s time to mount the camera, the mounting plate can be removed and it fixes separately to the wall before you screw the camera on using thumb screws – I would prefer some sort of security screw as it is anyone can just unscrew the camera if they can reach it.
When the camera is on the wall you can remove the middle bit of the usb cover and plug in the solar panel for charging – this seems to work well I’ve had a couple of cloudy days and the camera is still at 80%, it’ll be interesting to see what it’s like in the winter.
The app itself is easy to use, the camera can be moved easily without any issues and the picture quality is quite good.
If there is any motion detected it shows you quite clearly in the app.
One big thing to note is that this is not a constantly recording camera, it only records when it senses motion, it does say it in the advert, just make sure you’re aware of it.
Even though it doesn’t constantly record this camera would be good for somewhere that doesn’t have a power supply but still needs a good security camera.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another camera from this brand simply for the setup and app alone!
