I’ve been meaning to get a cable to connect my Quest 2 to my gaming PC for a while and decided to give this one a go. I haven’t used any others to enable me to compare it with, however after using this for a while I find it’s a good length and has a quality feel to it. I haven’t had any issues with playing games so I couldn’t ask for more. Whilst the charging does work this isn’t a feature I’ll typically be using as I think the normal charge on the headset is more than enough time to spend playing games without either causing a migraine or getting in to trouble with the wife!
Great quality lead that is long enough to go from the plug in the wall to a hook in my ceiling then to the quest , perfect if your forgetful charging the quest 2 or just to extent gameplay this is a high end lead and feels like it will last a lifetime
The Quests link feature is fantastic and is perfect for playing PCVR games on a PC. Ive tried a number of link cables and most are botched together and either have issues with small dropouts or die after a few hours of use. This Link cable from AMVR(who ive used for my facial interface and headstrap replacements) is the best ive used by a long way.
Its a 5m cable, so plenty to play with and all you need really unless you are in a seperate room. It was really well packaged in a box that looked like it could easilly have been an official Oculus box. It has a velcro loop strap on the cable to keep it atatched to the strap. This is a saftey issue to avoild pulling on the usb port. Most have these, but what really stands out is that it has a seperate usb power port enabling a full on fast charge at the same time as its being used. This is a fantastic edition and doesnt leave you on empty after a long session.
Its the best one ive used by a long way.
Works really well with the Quest 2. I’ve had no issues whilst using it and it allows me the freedom to move about whilst also charging at the same time. The cable length is almost 5 metres so plenty of room to play. Priced at 29.99 you can’t knock it.
I like how it’s not too heavy, it is not the thickest cable that I have used to link my Quest 2 with my laptop, but it should be durable enough to withstand being stepped on a lot, being pulled around and getting stuck. It works well with the charger and cable that came with the Quest 2. It is able to charge my Quest 2 while I’m playing and let’s me play for however long I want. It has a pretty decent length as well. The ports are not too loose or tight, the big connecter for the charging port is quite plasticy, but should be fine since it is closer to the computer or laptop than it is to you.
Great cable . At last I can charge and play pc based vr games on my quest 2 . Easy to install . Works well
I already have a link cable, but if the headset is low on battery then I can’t use it for long before it dies completely. This solves that problem by augmenting the power from the USB port with more power from a proper charger that plugs into the side.
It works perfectly and keeps the headset going for ages. In all other respects it’s the same as any other decent quality link cable and works just as well. Good quality cable and connectors and the USB-C end is right angled to run the cable parallel to the side of your head while playing, minimising the chance of catching it on something and damaging the connector or the headset’s USB port.
Have run into no issues with this link cable. It’s a nice length and high quality, I especially like the cable management band as it takes weight off of the usbc port, prolonging life of my quest 2.
The charging method is also nice to have, although I don’t play for long enough at the moment to use it much.
Would recommend. The quest 2 in pcvr mode is far superior to the standalone experience.
Although nearly all the labelling and instructions are based on the Quest2 this works perfectly for the Pico4.
This is the first time I have tried PCVR using the wired connection and I am very happily surprised how well it works. The right-angled connector ensures the lowest profile to prevent damage, and the rubber strap helps align the cable along the head strap and to the back of the headset. The little box near the computer end of the cable has a USB-C socket so you can attach a USB-C charger keeping the battery and headset running in tip top performance for as long as you need, or your gaming session lasts.
I still use wireless for the “walkaround” type games, but I am now using this for any seated VR games such as space sims and racing games as for me it seems to be much better performance than Wi-Fi.
This 16 foot cable frees up play when you’re charging whilst playing.
It worked well and was easy to use. It comes in a branded box with instructions.
We have been using it a while now with no issues
Useful cable, my daughter connect it to the oculus and other side to the computer so she can play her favourite game
This cable is 16 ft /5m long which is more than enough to enable the freedom to game.
It’s ideal if your WiFi is poor or like in our house has multiple gamers, streamers and devices running.
I did not feel massively restricted, and had to remind myself I was connected to the pc.
It has a tpu strap to secure and fix the data cable in place and prevent disconnection while keeping it out of your way and protecting it. The cable has a right angled plug which is ideal for this headset.
With a separate charging port this link cable can easily provide power so you can play all day long. I would suggest the charging port be connected to a wall rather than another port in the pc to prevent your pc struggling
Playtime is basically unlimited.
The charging is safe and it will reliably hold the charge at around 78% protecting your equipment.
I found the data transfer to be good and I experienced very smooth VR gameplay, no stuttering which can ruin your whole experience.
I would recommend it. I’m my opinion it’s very good value and good quality.
I’ve found it very useful.
I hope my review helped you.
This cable is good quality, a really good length, and does exactly as advertised! Now it doesn’t matter if you’re low on charge, or playing for hours and running low on charge – this cable covers all situations and means you can continue gaming, or start gaming with low battery. Simple design, works very well, great product!
One of the great things about the Quest series and the Pico is the ability to connect it to a PC to play PCVR games, and this is where this Link cable from AMVR comes in. This is a 5 metre, or 15 foot cable which allows a little freedom of movement for your gaming session, just remember that you are connected.
The cable arrives in a branded box, with an instruction sheet and an AMVR warranty card. Attached to cable is a loop strap to attach to the Quest strap to stop it from pulling on the charge port on the side of the Quest 2, with a right angled USB C plug so it will sit flush against the side of the Quest 2 (a quick note: The Quest 1 has a vertical charge port unlike the Quest 2 that has a horizontal port, so if you do use this on a Quest 1 it will be slightly more difficult to attach the loop strap). On the other end of the strap is a USB A 3.0 plug, and a connection box to attach a charge cable to, which ids different to most other link cables as this will also charge the Quest 2 whilst being used.
This is a great link cable for the Quest 2 and works as expected, allowing PCVR games to be played if you have a poorer Wi-Fi and wireless PCVR is not an option.
one thing to note if you are using a charge cable as well. This will work far better using a wall charger rather than a second cable from a PC USB port as that has a stronger current pull which may cause your pc to act up. I had a couple of times on my Laptop where the port stopped responding, but only a couple of times, hence suggesting a wall USB charger.
Overall, this is a great cable for the Quest 2 (and Pico apparently, although I don’t have one of them so I can’t comment on that) and opens up a lot more VR possibilities when using PCVR.
This cable is great for charging and playing on the oculus at the same time. It is 16m in length so there is enough room to move around and not get tugged for going to far. the only thing is because of the cable being so long, it is a trip hazard. It charges the oculus quite quickly and I can up and download data. Overall this is an amazing addition for the oculus.
Long cable which has allowed me to use my intel Nuc Haydes canyon to play steam VR.
The cable comes with the attachments to add to the side of the quest 2 and stops you from pulling the USB cable out.
Much cheaper than the official cable.
AMVR Upgraded Link Cable 16FT for Quest 2 for Pico 4, with Separate Charging Port for Ultra-Durable Power, High Speed Data Transfer USB 3.0 Type A to C Cable for VR Headset Accessories and Gaming PC.
Good quality link cable. Allows you to do data transfers and game at the same time. No battery interruptions as this link cable will charge your Oculus VR headset whilst you’re using the device.
The rubber strap is a great feature that keeps the link cable firmly attached to the headset. It also has a right angled USB port which helps to keep the cable out the way and makes it a lot more secure. It also has a high data transfer rate of 5Gbps.
This is a great product and it’s worth choosing this link cable over a normal one if you’re a heavy gamer. It’s good value and I would happily recommend i
This cable is designed to be used with Quest 2 for Pico 4 headset.
That said it is functionally a long USB 3.0 A to C cable. Ending in right angled plug, which better suits a headset, but for any device can place less stress on the USB C socket than a traditional straight connection.
The upper limit for reliable transmission along a USB cable is 3 metres. This get’s to close to 5, and to assist in that there is USB C socket in the cable near the USB A end that can assist in that – that is compatible with original charging cable and adaptor, or indeed another c cable connected to a USB socket.
Given the spec the price point of this cable is reasonable.
Before I got this cable and a few others I was using a Huawei AX3 WIFI 6 router via airlink/virtual desktop, but was getting micro stutters that were ruining games like beat saber etc. Now with the cable everything is smooth.
You should get a message in the headset asking to allow access to data. Choose deny, it should then ask to enable oculus link to which you allow.
I ran the cable test (go to oculus app, devices, quest 2 and touch, USB test) and got 2.4gbs.
You get a nice long cable and the part you plug a power USB-C cable into is close to the end that you plug into the USB on your PC, so it does not get in the way at all. I have USB-C ports on my plug socket and connecting to this worked great.
The battery still drains very slowly while you are using the quest but should stabilise at 78%.
The cable is of great quality, and a little stiff (which I like as it stays away from my face and body if I bend it outwards a little). It comes with a cable tie for wrapping around the head strap to help support the cable weight.
Out of the link cables I have, my braided one has started to fail, with frequent disconnects. This one has not given me any disconnects and is working perfectly, I hope it stays that way unlike my previous cable.
The majority of my time is spent in PCVR now, and this keeps my quest 2 always charged.
Highly recommended.
I have a link cable already but like most of them it is basically just a standard long cable. This is the first time I’ve seen one with this design and it’s a great idea, allowing you to not only connect the Quest to the pc but also provide power to it. It makes total sense, you’re already connecting a cable to why not power it too? No issues with this so far and cable is plenty long enough to not be tripping over it whilst playing.
The cable does do the job but we found it is a little power hungry and caused the computers USB sockets to shutdown intermittently but after removing some devices and plugging them into a powered hub (low data rate stuff mostly) we had no more dropout issues. It’s important to read up about this lead and the fact is will stabilise the battery percentage at 78% either when charging or discharging the quest due to the built in protection used. I did get the usual “dad it doesn’t work” speech because of the whole 78% thing but after explaining I haven’t heard anything since so it must be working!
This is a quality cable and well made in all aspects from the cable sleeving to the plugs its all good, the length is great at 16 foot you can charge and ply whilst not being too limited in movement at all, worth it alone just for that really, all working as it should for me, no complaints at all.
This goes perfectly with the ‘Quest 2’ and is something that I really appreciated because of how much you can be sometimes moving in other games. I hadn’t really experienced how freeing it was to be able to move around so much with no interference.
