I have arthritis and joint conditions that are progressing and impact my mobility – and my ability to exercise fullstop. I had reached a point where the only exercise I was getting was walking up and down the stairs, and I’m only in my early 40s. I thought I would take a punt on this, as I could stop whenever I needed to, without being 100s of metres away from my car/home, without being impacted by the weather and might be good to introduce at least a small amount of movement into my day.

I have to say I am delighted with my purchase. I have been surprised to find that walking in a controlled environment on a treadmill is so much easier than walking on the street! I have actually found that with appropriate supports in my shoes, and at the correct speed, I can walk with little to no pain in my feet and knees! I am now able to get the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day, 5 days a week. If you’d told me two months ago that was possible, I would have laughed at you.

The treadmill is heavy (for someone with arthritis at least) so I needed help getting it to the spare room, and moving it around to store it independently is a no-go, but it’s in situ and I love it. I will come back and edit if anything significant happens over the months in terms of machine performance or problems.

This is good for if you don’t have much space in the house and want to start of with very little exercise. It’s pretty much equivalent to walking. The speed isn’t high enough for running.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI’ve had this just over a week or so. I have been leading an increasingly sedentary lifestyle & needed to address this. My fitness levels aren’t great. So I started making myself go for a walk everyday. I started off fine but after a few days I found myself making excuses not to go, mainly the weather, it’s raining, too cold, it’s dark. I realised with it being October coming into November & the winter months this excuse will become more frequent. So had an idea of a treadmill to get my steps in & keep me moving. I had a look at a few and decided on this one as I have limited space (& funds) and I could store it away when not in use. Immediately after I’d ordered I thought I’d done a silly thing. I’ve ordered this, it’s the cheapest on here and has no reviews.

I recieved it much quicker than expected. It was well packaged & all I needed to do was plug it in and I was good to go. It is very easy to operate. I’m doing brisk walking. I’d say my usual walking pace is 02.0 so a steady pace of 03.0 or 03.5 is brisk for me. I have placed it in my kitchen, because it’s better with hard surface not carpet, facing the TV I have in my kitchen, so can watch TV while I walk. This is quite good as I set myself a challenge and pick a programme and walk for the duration. I still have a way to go to increase my fitness, I have the remote in my hand so am able to change my pace throughout, so I might go down to 02.0 for a bit then, go up again in increments. Or I’ll do a few shorter stints, as & when, like if I’ve put something in the airfryer that takes 10 minutes to cook. I’ll walk for the duration. I’ve found myself going on it more than I’d go for an actual walk. I’m still trying to go outside on the more suitable days for walks as fresh air, vit D & just getting out is good. But it’s great to have this as an addition.

As I only want to do walking I have only used up to speed 03.5, I tried 04.0 but it was a bit quick for me, so I quickly reduced speed. So I havnt attempted 05.0 or 06.0. I imagine this would be more of a jog/ run?

The width of the belt/ bit you walk on is 37cm which could be a bit narrow for some but it’s fine for me & hasn’t proved to be a problem.

What I would say is if your balance isn’t great, it might be better to get one with a frame/ handrail as this doesn’t have that so there’s nothing to steady yourself.
But for me this is perfect, I’m really happy with my purchase so far. It’s early days, so I will come back and update if I experience any issues, if I don’t, you know it’s all good!
