It’s a bit pricey really but then again it’s good quality, no worse than on my private golf club putting green. I haven’t put it in the ground, I haven’t got the tools to do it cleanly and I don’t fancy the extra work so I sit it there and chip to it. It may sound daft but chilling to a hole and flagstick is much easier to feel than just chipping into an empty target area of the lawn or locking a daisy. It’s sturdy and well made so has enough weight to stand on its own and it doesn’t knock over unless you thin one in the top of the cup (yep did that). I also use just the flagstick part and put it in the rotary clothes dryer hole on the lawn so it sits almost flush with the ground and then I have two targets to hit.
I really like this, it has improved my practice concentration giving me a better target to focus on and looks fun as well.
Really good.
After searching online I am delighted I chose this product. Rigid metal, two pieces screw together, quality flag, safe screw on top and I think it looks superb. Was easy to fit cup into lawn. I first used a bulb planting tool then trimmed hole with trowel – perfect fit! Bought for my grandson to use and I love using it for chipping practice! Wish I had room for eight more of these! Can only dream of garden for seventeen more!
This is a hole, as found on golf courses. The set consists of a plastic cup that is intended to be permanently sunk into the ground, a flag pole about a meter high and a flag.
All the parts are very nicely made. The pole comes in two screw-together sections with metal ferrules on the end. I don’t think it’s intended to be left outside permanently, but with a bit of WD spray it should be fine through a British summer. The flag has a plastic sleeve to hold it firmly on the pole, and there’s a threaded ball to hold it all together. This also prevents you from poking your eye out when you bend down to pick up the ball.
This isn’t a ‘competition standard’ hole. It’s a pitch and putt hole for a bit of fun in the garden, if you have the space. Nevertheless, it’s a proper one. It’s nicely made, and you will need to sink the cup into the ground.
Nice and sturdy, pole stands upto strong winds and fits others flags you may have as souvenirs.
When installing I put an inch of sand in the bottom to add drainage with our clay soils, which was easy enough to do with a hand trowel.
Daughter loves it, now to improve the grass.
