I’m a 32 year old female with a small face, the adult sized ones were covering my face too much and looked funny. This youth size fits perfect and looks good. I got silver and it had a great sleek design. I thought the lens would be too dark but it was clear during a sunny cloudy ski day in Utah. It never fogged up! lens don’t come off so they aren’t replaceable. Overall good for price
These worked really well on our holiday, we didn’t experience any really bad weather so not the best of tests but they were comfy after wearing them all day.
FULL UV PROTECTION …PERFECT FOR SKIING … ADJUSTABLE STRAPS…
GREAT VALUE 5*
Brand-name (e.g., Bolle, Giro) youth ski goggles from your big-box sporting goods store are going to cost $30-60, as of the time of this review (and brand-name, top-of-the-line adult goggles are readily over $100). For about $16, this is a fair price for a pair of ski goggles, especially for a youth that may outgrow them (or outgrow the sport after only a season). Though these are sold as youth goggles, they fit me–an adult male–and they seem to be sized close-enough to match an adult ski helmet (see picture).
I tested these while walking outside on a grey, overcast winter day at about 30F with a moderate breeze. They work! The goggles definitely function well to keep the breeze off your eyeballs, though some cold air did directly hit my face through the anti-fog holes, albeit rarely. Really, there’s not a magical way to do anti-fog like this without some very minor issues; the anti-fog design functioned *very* well. I wore a mask during the walk to make sure plenty of hot air was directed right at my eyeballs, and the glasses never fogged while over my eyes. I was also able to rest the glasses on my hair/forehead for several minutes and then return them to my eyes without any fogging. Viewing angles are satisfactory. I noticed this manufacturer didn’t list any VLT rating. I’m not a VLT expert, but I have regular sunglasses that are darker than these; they didn’t interfere with my vision on a grey, overcast day. If you need low VLT percentages (for sunny days), I doubt these are it.
I found the foam to be uncomfortable after 20 minutes of continuous use. This may be unavoidable, a necessary part of ensuring the a good seal to keep out the weather. The goggles *may* be more comfortable on a smaller face, but somehow I doubt it; if your youth is particular about comfort, maybe consider a different pair.
The included pouch is fine for casual scratch resistance, but didn’t seem to function well as a cleaning cloth.
I can’t wait to have my boy try these out this winter. He says he really likes them and that they fit well. I like how the came with a soft case for storage. They seem to be well made and like I said earlier, I can’t wait to have him try them out on the slopes. They look like they will fit just fine on a snowboard/ski helmet.
These fit really good on my 4-year-old. I like the reflective material on the front, and my kid likes the colors. The strap material is soft, and the compression material on the front makes a good seal on my kid’s face. These are going to be great in deep snow this winter.
