These are great blackout blinds. Easy to cut and fit/put up (via the included adhesive strips) Once on they effectively eliminate all outside light (and keep the room so much cooler too). These will be a godsend on holiday (not just with the new addition to the family) but also for anyone who finds it difficult to sleep soundly in a an ineffectively curtained or shuttered room. Definitely worth the money.

I live in student accomodation in a rented house, and unfortunately someone decided that office blinds are better than curtains for my bedroom, and it faces the sun in the mornings.

As a light sleeper this means I frequently get woken up by the sun, but also on top of this I feel the blinds aren’t good for privacy either since you can see between the slits if not aligned.

For me, this product fixed both of that and even better it did so without damaging any walls which is important since I’m renting.

Overall a fantastic product that is relatively easy to use and very versatile

The blinds are really easy to set up. Instead of cutting them to fit my window, I simply folded in the excess and used some double sided tape to flatten it, just in case I wanted to remove the blinds and use them elsewhere.

The material is fairly lightweight and durable but I found a tear at one of the corners and luckily it was small enough that it didn’t affect the blackout effect.

The fabric is folded quite compactly inside the drawstring bag, so it takes a while for the creases to fall out (I’ve had the blinds hung for more than 3 weeks now and the crease lines are still pretty prominent).

My only niggle with this is that when a sticker is peeled from the silver side it will leave a mark and it needs to be removed very carefully otherwise it might tear the blind.

Other than that though, they did the job. I’d be happy to recommend.

Fiddly to fit but when it’s up it blocks all light. Great if you suffer form migraines and need complete darkness.

This is exactly what I needed to darken the window in my bedroom, it’s a really good material and I couldn’t believe how dark this was going to actually get. it comes complete with everything you need to install the blackout and the best part is that it can be removed, we can take it anywhere we need it.

    otal darkness

This is quite exceptional material. Over the years I have used blackout material for photographic purposes, and also for windows where it is handy to have a blackout blind fitted. I have never come across such a totally blacking-out fabric as this one from ECUCM, and it’s ultra, ultra thin and very, very lightweight. Very impressive.

With the fabric you get a bag to keep it in and two sheets of double-sided self-adhesive transparent pads in case you want to fix the blackout material to a surface, but I must admit I think the material is probably better used so that you can take it down easy when required rather than pulling away from adhesive pads… we have created a sort of small roller-type blind in the past and that’s a more versatile method of utilising a blackout.

Also included is an acrylic paint marker and one of the longest flexible tape measures I have seen (120″) which is a useful addition for many purposes.

The acid test for any blackout material is… how much does it block light? Well, when I first saw the fabric and how amazingly thin it was I was of the opinion that it might let some light through. My “ultimate” test was to see if it could block the 25,000 Lumen beam from my ‘super torch’. This large handheld torch is the most powerful lighting device I own and it is quite amazingly powerful. I actually thought it was probably a bit of an unfair test, but was amazed that even when held against the blackout material (only for a minute or so because the torch generates a lot of heat!) there was not a single spec of light to be seen through the fabric. Quite remarkable and the manufacturer’s claims that the material is 100% blackout is bang on! This ultra-thin lighweight fabric completely blocks out light. You can’t ask for more than that.

The material can be cut, sewn and stuck easily as it’s very strong and easy to work with. I think that this is the most impressive blackout material I have come across as a lot of blackout materials tend to be rather heavyweight, and also not necessarily totally light-blocking.

If you want a blackout that’s easy to work with I think you’d have a bit of a struggle to better this one from ECUCM.

Quite remarkable blackout material... no light gets through this stuff! Lightweight & strong.

So the description states this is a:-
ECUCM Blackout blinds 118″ x 57″. Portable temporary travel window blinds cover easy to stick on blackout curtains shades. 100% blackout material for bedroom baby nursery kids.

If your going to use this regularly at the same window you can cut it to size if you want.

    *** Easy to attach:-
    * Use the measuring ruler ~ length 120in/300 cm in the set, to measure the window.
    * Cut out the blind slightly larger ~ 1in -2″ than the window glass.
    * Then stick enough double-sided stickers on the window glass to glue the cut blind and done.
    * Double-sided stickers have superior stickiness on both sides, removable, reusable, and more durable.
    * Can be easily removed and replaced.

But I measured and cut 2″ larger than the glass.
I have attached a full velcro strip around the four lengths of the window and done the same to the blind.
This way I know I can peel off and secure in place when needed as I do use it regularly as I suffer with migraines.

The price st the time of this review is 19.99.

    So far so good
But I will update this review if needed.

    *** Detail’s:-
    * Size:- 118″ x 57″ / 300cm x 145cm
    * Material:- 100% blackout ~ Polyester
    * Product dimensions:- 3L x 1.45W metres
    * Brand:- ECUCM

I wouldn’t say it’s effortless to get up as you need to make sure it’s completely flush to get the total blackout effect but once it’s up no light gets through which is great for my little one who stirs all night due to a street light and the blackout blind I got was seeping light in all around it, great value for money

I am really impressed with this, you get a good quality product for the price.

    Pros:
    – High quality material, even though it states it’s temporary, I am sure if necessary it will last longer.
    – Comes with everything needed, you dont need to buy anything extra.
    – Shuts out the light really well, great for early sunrises or baby rooms.
    – Can be reused and taken with you whilst travellin- good for trips with a baby.

    Cons:
    – A bit fiddly to measure and set up if you arent good at that type of thing.

Great high quality blackout material came very well packaged in a little bag which contained glue dots and a marker pen and measuring tape. The instructions were not so clear however it is pretty self explanatory when measuring the windows the one thing I would say is to make sure you leave a little bit of extra cloth approximately 2 to 3 cm this is to prevent light leaking in through the sides however the material itself made sure the room was completely black perfect for those who have younger kids who wake up earlier when the sun comes out. Very easy to set up very impressed with all the accessories it came with great value for money. Definitely recommend .

Put this over the inside of the Motorhome windows and noticed a real improvement on holding heat in and keeping heat out, I attached with Velcro on both sides so I can reverse fit the reflective side in or out which keeps out too much heat from the sun and keeps heat in at night, this is a truly amazing material

I’m not entirely sure why the manufacturers of this felt the need to put things in a nifty little pouch, but hey. It is a nifty little pouch!

You also get 42 blobs of sticky stuff, a measuring tape and a marker pen, which needs a bit of shaking and nib-pressing to get the paint to start coming out.

So basically, you’ve got everything you need to measure and cut to size your blackout curtains, plus the means to position them.

The blackout material itself is pretty funky: having tested with several bright LED torches, it’s definitely opaque and has both a black and a silver side. The instructions indicate that you’re meant to install the material with the silver-side facing outwards, but I suspect you may get some slight heating benefits by having them with the black side facing out. One for future experiments…

The sticky blobs are generally up to the job; they’re amazingly sticky when it comes to flat surfaces, and mildly sticky when it comes to the blackout material, making it pretty easy to take down the blackout curtains when you’d prefer to have a bit of light in the room. And they’re theoretically washable too, if/when there’s too much dust and fluff stuck to them. So while I’m a bit doubtful about the manual’s claims about how often you can restick the material onto them, they should be usable for a long time.

All in all, I’m definitely happy with the results!

Darker than the mines of Moria...

This material is perfect for those areas that you need a temporary black out for, or if you are desperate and need darkness at night to sleep.

The material is black one side and silver the other, the silver side faces outwards, the black inwards. The material itself, seems reasonably strong, but it’s very thin, this leaves me wondering how long it will last before ending up as landfill.

The package is supposed to include the following:
1 x Drawstring bag to keep it all in
    1 x Blind material (300 x 145 cm)
    1 x Marker pen
    1 x Measuring tape
    42 x Nano sticky pads

In my kit, the marker pen wasn’t present, this has to make me question QC, but then these are mass produced, and this sort of thing is not unique to this product.

The drawstring bag is handy, but the dye does come off on stuff, so take care; it was black on the Nano pads, and the yellow measuring tape from the dye.

It is easy to mark and cut, and because it is light, the Nano pads should hold it OK, I personally think it is better suited to smaller areas than large though. The pads should be reusable, but only time will tell as to for how long.

Although 23.99 does seem a little expensive to me, it isn’t a lot to pay if this makes your life better by giving you a good night’s sleep.

Easy to cut and hang with the included ‘glue dots’ which are about the size of a 2 coin but personally I don’t like to use these so i’ll look for a different option.

Open up on the floor to measure and cut (you’ll need the space), mark up with the supplied pen, I placed the dots on the window one at a time and attached the sheet, found it much easier that way so it doesn’t get caught up anywhere.

There is a slight….halo?….initially it was like midnight in my room but once eyes started to adjust a very slight paleness was noticeable but i think it’s light ‘leaking’ around the edges so maybe cut slightly larger than you need?

Not 100% blackout for me but way better than any other products I have tried for the purpose, easy to take down and store.

    definitely worth a try.

Quite impressive with this little pack. You got a lot of money sheet is a nice size and country mate, but if you’re clever you can reuse it and keep it in holiday mode very happy
Really like the little accessories, you get the little glue sticks reusable tape measure and you get a drawing pen marker brilliant however the thing that lets it down is instructions quite poor and feels a bit like the last minute which is disappointing than mine. The price point is 24
Overall, quite pleased this really helps dark in the room with these at short notice. Allows you to remove at short notice. Brillia

The only thing I disliked about this was my own ability to cut straight lines. The product itself is perfect as far as I can see for now at least, until summer time perhaps then I can determine if it works at its best. Sunlight is stronger in the summer. The quality of the material the amount of bonus accessories you get with this is top, in fact, unmatched with anything I have used in the past two decades.

    You get-
    -Tape measurer
    -Acrylic silver pen
-double sided sticky pads x2 sheets-You peel it off, stick it on the blind and peel off the front thin film, to reveal another adhesive side, and thus double sided sticky pads, they feel quite strong too.

Only problem I can find is, the adhesive pads can be hard to peel off for the front bit. You do get a manual though to help you guide your way. It is easy to use, it is based on your skill in cutting straight really, that is the only issue I have with it, and I’ve never been good at cuting straight to be honest. I need some kind of a tool to help me.

It is true I can’t tell if this is a true blackout blind, because its winter time and in the UK we hardly get sun during winter, but if this doesn’t work as a blackout blind, I will be back with a full update. So far there is no issues with the quality and bonus items you get with it, it all feels really good, so 5/5 from me, used on loft window and the sheet size of this blackout blind is nearly 3 or 4x the size of my loft window. It is so big, sorry I couldn’t possibly unfold it within the area of my camera to show you.

Fun fact: There is an alternative way to stick this, and what I did was use a self adhesive velcro tape with hook and fleece, which I put around the frame of my window, (Not on the glass). Then the adhesive side gets stuck to the blackout blind really easily, then i can use scissors to cut the edges off, and create my own velcro taped blackout blind, that comes off easy, and can be put back on just as easily.

It is actually better than using the round adhesives that this product comes with. Just remember black side is facing inside the house, the silver bit is what reflects the Sun.

Good product, and it works well. you just need to make sure you have a large space to measure out the size you need and cut it down to size. If you mess up with the measurements you won’t get complete blackout. I think overall it is a good product but it’s definitely fiddly and time consuming to measure and cut it out precisely.
