This modification was easy to install I did it at the same time as the extremerate hair triggers, there are videos from the company on YouTube showing you how to install the mod. Extremerate modifications are a great alternative if your after a pro controller but cannot justify the cost of a pro controlle

Easy to install with the guidance of a YouTube video. Cheaper then buying a scuff.

The product is easy to install by watching the guide on YouTube. If you don’t need the touchpad, L3 or R3 it’s even faster. All the necessary tools are provided in the kit. I have to give props to the excellent customer service that’s quick to answer in case any doubts or problems should arise.

Easy enough to install, theres a few good videos on YouTube that really help with the process, the grips are brilliant! Ive had a scuf before and there overpriced and break very easily, the paddles are well placed and comfortable

I brought this product as its a cheaper alternative to buying a controller with the mods already fitted. Had some issues installing the product but that was due to me not entering the address for the introduction video correctly. After contacting the company using the contact email they provided, they were able to help me out. All withing 24 hours. Product looks, feels and works great.

I was thinking of buying a Scuff controller for 200+, but why bother now? It took me about 2 hours to install it, it’s very fiddly to do and you have to be careful as you could easily break your controller, but it’s doable if you follow the instructional video on Youtube.

I have the COD controls set to tactical, where O is melee and R3 is crouch / slide / prone. This means I don’t accidentally melee by pressing R3 when things get tense (if I accidentally press R3 it just makes me crouch which doesn’t mean instant death as I continue firing), but having it set to tactical means you have to take your thumb off the right stick to melee (not good at all as you just end up punching the air). Inserting armour was always a pain as I want to be able to look around while I’m doing it or turn to walk up some stairs to get out of harms way.

Now with these two back paddles all of the above is fixed, makes a huge difference to my gameplay.

I’d highly recommend for anyone playing FPS multiplayer games to get one of these.

Easy enough to find a guide on YouTube. Backpedals really do help improve your ability in competitive shooters where you need to jump and shoot for e.g. only issue is I’d recommend a different colour because the white does not suit the base ps5s’ controller colour.

I ordered my paddles in August last year, set them up using the YouTube guide and was absolutely thrilled with how good they were. 3 months later one of the paddles became brittle and snapped so I ordered some more.. now I’m writing this review from my second order to say they have snapped again!!

Granted the 40 you pay is MUCH better than forking out 200+ on a scuf controller and I’ve seen that they are now selling replacement paddles on Amazon for 8.

I highly recommend these paddles but only if your willing to replace them (which is SUPER easy) every 3-5 months with new 8 ones. Order some spares to save the annoyance of having one broken like I have right now.

Well I was really unsure whether I wanted to do this kit as all I wanted the back buttons for was L3 and R3. As there is soldering involved I was a little nervous. The video instructions are spot on and very simple to follow, even the soldering of the L3/R3 cable. If you don’t want these then it’s all just a case of swapping ribbon cables with the ones they provide. All in all a brilliant piece of kit and would recommend anyone with a bit of soldering knowledge to go for it. Just take your time, be patient and follow the instructions and you’ll have no problems.

As an ‘affordable alternative’ to some custom controllers, I really can’t fault these after installing on my second controller. Although I have managed to break a couple of cables rushing through the installation, both of these work great and are very comfortable.

Initially bought for Warzone but comes in handy for other games, dodging in Forbidden West and now jumping around in Lego Star Wars.

Would recommend – just take the installation nice and slowly using the YouTube videos and pause at each section!

There are two different versions of this kit. Initially I ordered the wrong one and it wouldn’t work when I tried to install it. I contacted extremerate on Facebook and they helped me with the problem and offered to send me the new cables for free – very helpful company!

Would recommend to anyone. This is a great alternative than paying hundreds of pounds for a Scuff.

At less than a 3rd of the price of a scuff pad, definitely recommend this if you like FPS games,
Having the extra buttons at the back give a huge advantage in games like COD or BF2042.
Easy enough to install & program with following the step by step YouTube guide in 15 – 20 min
Only downside would be the white shell it’s a different shade to the white PS5 controlle

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe pad works just as i’d expect it to. There is no lag time between button press and action and is ‘simple’ enough to put together, as long as you have time and patience.

Id say it took me around 45 minutes to an hour to complete the install from start to finish. I’m no expert, but i would suggest that setup is for someone with a techy mindset.
My first attempt failed and thought I’d had wrote off my controller but the issue was the battery pin not being re-attached correctly. If you get orange lights flashing, this will be your reason.

It looks and feels great, but the biggest issue i have with it is that the button on the back is loose. it will never fall out but it rattles and is always going to rattle as there is no way of firmly putting the button in place. This is the button you hold down when syncing.

Overall I’m happy. But would i pay the money again for another controller? depends how badly i need it. i actually don’t use it as much as i thought i would but if it was maybe 10 less expensive, it could sway me to buy another for a second controller. The fact its metal and not plastic is a huge win. it will not break, therefore already a no brainer compared to the first version.

Fairly easy to install but always good to get some help if your not confident.
Once installed, mapping the buttons is very easy. Depending on what game your playing it might take a few sessions to get used to the new buttons.

Definitely follow a video guide -slowly- in order to fit this to your Ps5 controller.

Once correctly fit together the paddles work perfectly and the clicks they make are like butter to my ears. Mapping what button you want each paddle to do takes no time either.

Shout-out to the seller; I cut my cables incorrectly first time and I had to contact them to get a replacement cable, for free!

Install took a lot longer thanks to me missing something that wasn’t optional. I did not solder anything.

The case itself is noticeably thinner than the Dualsense. If I had come straight from the PS4 controller I wouldn’t have noticed, but after gaming for an hour or so, I noticed that it feels slimmer and so your hand grips it differently. Not sure if grip pads would help.

The buttons themselves are very nice and clicky. Good weight to them. They do feel a little loose, but when you push them up to the clicking point, it’s very tactile. So there’s a tiny bit of movement before you’re clicking them.

    Definitely recommended!

Update: after a few months of usage, still loving these. Whenever I use my normal Dualsense I do miss that being a bit thicker and the texture on the back is better than this smooth surface. That would be my only improvement, add a bit of thickness and texture to the back.

    Loving the metal buttons!

Install was made easier with the link to the video. The metal paddles feel very strong and sturdy so far. I feel like these will have a much longer life than the plastic ones.
The fact that it can be installed to both the old and the new type PS5 controllers is really good.

Excellent piece of kit, does exactly what it is designed to do.

One negative, I got sent the wrong colour.

So I managed to build my paddles anyway, but I was missing quite a few screws as they are loose in the box and there are holes in the box. Some had already fallen out into the Amazon box. I was missing one of the long silver screws for the rear paddle assembly, but three managed to keep it secure. I generally love extreme rate products so would suggest sending the screws etc out in a packet inside the box as these will be falling out on the floor of the distribution centre.

The paddles once you are up and running however are seriously good and very much more solid than previous iterations

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo this kit is a easy fit, the ps5 remote is very well built in comparison to the PS4. It’s very compact so a fiddly job.

The rise kit main ribbon is delicate, I recommend you fit the main ribbon, screw the board back down, attach battery, and try and boot up the remote… This will show everything is aligned correctly.

Attached your L1 L2 cable test fire it back up. Then R1 R2. Test fire the remote.

Then finish the complete build. You don’t want to keep opening and closing the remote.

This should be a simple plug and play kit but the is a finite amount of tolerance on some of the connectors.

I’m not new to this sort of work. Replaced countless phone screens and repaired multiple remote controls for ps or Xbox.

The kit is good and works well. Done 3 in total, 2 for friends but typically mine was a bitch for some odd unknown reason. Cables all look fine, yet sometimes it just would not boot up the remote. Took me over 20 attempts at opening, removing everything, reinstalling etc to get it closed up and working as it should.

    Such a great mod.
I went ahead and bought this after I found out you don’t have to do any soldering, if you cut a few steps out.
First time took me about 45-60 mins, I do plan to do more.
I even have my stream viewers wanting to send me there controllers and fit this kit for them.

Works superb, feels like a professional kit.

    Only 2 tiny gripes.
    1. One of the back buttons feels ever so slightly more loose, it works 100% no problem, just requires a touch more pressure.

The other tiny con, the back ps controller case they provide, doesnt fit quite as snug as the original.
But do not let these two tiny cons put you off.

It’s a brilliant piece of kit, works , I have it mapped to O and X, for my fortnite play, open and close builds, and jump.

    Makes so much difference.

I will buy more for my other controllers.

Best solution on the market right now. Takes about 1-2 hours to complete it following videos on youtube. Can be quite difficult if you are completely new to it but the majority of people will find it straightforward. The buttons are quite sensitive as others have mentioned however they are fine for me personally as long as you dont hold your controller by applying a lot of pressure to your fingers on the back of the controller. Its also very easy to reprogram. My only criticism is that the box on the back is quite bulky and can be more uncomfortable to hold compared to a regular controller. Maybe they could make this thinner or smaller in the future.

Well if you’ve never used a soldering kit before, this product mostly like is not for you, the rest of the setup is straight forward. Though I imagine have smaller hands would be a massive benefit. Does the required job and worked first time, I’m happy to recommend.

Honestly one of the best Mods out there. Unlike most mods that just place ugly buttons on the back, not this, it looks the part and works like a dream. Easy on the go button mapping, and it comes in this epic colourway 🙂
I’ve been playing Battlefield, Cod, and Fortnite while testing this out and it makes reloading, jumping, and using D-Pad and other options so much easer. Don’t waste money on SCUFF controllers, eXtremeRate is where it’s at 🙂

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSo what do you get?

A small brown cardboard box with black print telling you it’s a RISE remapping kit.

Inside the box are multiple plastic bags containg:-

New backplate (with textured rubber grips in my case)
Plastic back buttons + case parts
    Several printed circuit ribbons
Screws, pins, screwdriver + tool to help dismantle controller case
Small circuit board and a very fine insulated wire
Warranty card and warning sheet (NOT INSTRUCTIONS see below)

OK this kit can fit 2 different variants of the dualsense controller. The warning sheet tells you how to cut the ribbon connectors once you’ve identified which one you have.

Installation instructions are provided via a youtube video which is very good and easy to follow. I found the installation relatively straightforward but I’ve built my own PCs for years and have taken stuff apart since I was a kid (sometimes it still worked afterwards). For those who have never done anything like this before it maybe a little daunting but it’s easier than you think. If you don’t follow the video and try it “blind” so to speak….it won’t end well.

I completed the installation in about an hour, I took my time and did the FULL install. Let me explain, a limited install means you can map all buttons except the touchpad, R3 and L3 (joystick clicks) this is the easiest install.

If you want to be able to map all buttons R1, R2, R3, L1, L2, L3, touch pad, D pad, triangle, circle, square and X then you’ll need to do a little soldering. It’s nothing major (4 small solders) but something to keep in mind.

At the end of the installation video it runs through how to put the RISE into setting mode, how to map the buttons , how to leave settings mode, how to cancel a remapped back button and how to cancel all remapped buttons.

In use it works flawlessly, I have seen reviews that have complained that the buttons are too fragile and break easily but I think the kit comes with a new version that are more robust (you can also order replacement buttons and metal buttons are available). I don’t find them overly sensitive but that’s a subjective thing.

The only bad thing I encountered was when I initially opened the box the bag containing the screws and pins had split and they were rattling around inside. On the plus side they supply so many spare screws and pins it made no difference but not a great first impression when you open the box.

So in closing this might not seem cheap for a kit that means you have to take apart your controller (possibly screwing it up) and do all the work. It’s not a simple “clip it on and away you go” deal. What you get (if you do it right) is remappable back buttons that are a damn sight cheaper than one of the 3rd party modded controllers like SCUFF.

All in all it’s good value for a gamer.

Was very annoyed with Sony for disabling the use of my DS4 with paddles on PS5 Games but not providing a Dualsense back button attachment

Thankfully this works perfectly and are a much cheaper alternative to the ‘Pro’ Controllers.
YouTube instructions are also very easy to follow.

Only improvement would be to provide a better screwdriver for screwing in the chip. I didn’t have a personal screwdriver small enough so had to get creative with the tip of an adjustable wrench.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought to improve cod warfare movement. Product is good quality. Fairly difficult to fit but the explanation is pretty good and everything you need is supplied in the box including screwdriver etc. I was a bit nervous at times whether the controller would still work when I put it back together but it was fine. The finished look is great quality. Tiny bit of rattle in the paddles but otherwise feels and looks great. Definitely happy with it. One note is that your controller won’t fit the Sony dual charger stand with this fitted. I adapted mine with a saw but this was tricky and not ideal.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI just want to preface this review by saying I am a complete layman when it comes to taking things apart and putting it back together. Also, I have only did it in the last day so I will update this review a few months down the line once I get sufficient time with it. But my first impressions are: It’s absolutely awesome kit. In fact, it helped me get to the next boss in Returnal!

I wanted to do a few mods to the controller as I had seen a friend of mine has done something similar using ExtremeRate suite of controller parts. My modifications were going to be simple, with a midnight back DS5, I will add the LEDs and back paddles.

I found the install pretty straight forward, however since I was doing two mods at the same time, I had to switch between two different tutorials. I would recommend to ExtremeRate to make a tutorial covering both at the same time as I can imagine these are the most common modifications.

Just on the tutorials, they are excellent. I did have to put the music on mute but it is very detailed and slow. I would recommend getting a set of tweezers. I used metal, but ceramic would probably be better for a less chance of ruining the components. The wire strips that you pull out can be quite stiff so you’ll have to be patient and wiggle it out.

I found the install also quite forgiving as there were numerous times I thought I screwed it up but the components (wires and such) are very robust so it all seem to work fine.

As you can see (maybe, and based on the page this review is on) I got the metal variant which is new. I actually bought the plastic version a few days earlier, but hadn’t opened it. I didn’t even know the metal was coming out. I was able to return it for a very quick refund via gift card and purchase the metal.

Obviously I have had no experience with the plastic paddles, but I heard they broke quite a bit. I do not suspect I will have this problem with the metal as it is metal, it will likely bend first, but there no way you are applying that much pressure.

I love the “clickines” of the paddles, and changing the buttons they are assigned is super easy. Due to the fact that they are metal, they are a little weighty, but it makes the controller feel better. I like the weight to the controller. On my controller I have the PlayVital silicone sleeve which also adds a bit of weight. If you intend to get that too, you will have to cut out some of the back to accommodate the paddles. Please do a better job than I did.

Sorry for the waffling, I am writing as I think about it, here is a semi brief summary:

    The Good:
    – Easy-ish install: Great very good tutorials from ExtremeRate and documentation within the pack.

    – Robust components: the metal paddles, metal enclosure, plastic shell, wires, all of it is top quality.

    – Nicely packaged component: Nothing in the box got damaged as it was tightly packaged in foam or in anti-static sleeves.

    – Tools: It comes with a mini screwdriver and blue plastic thing to help pull apart the controller. Which is all I need I lie. I needed a soldering iron. I forgot to mention that I wanted the option to Map the L3R3 buttons, so you need to do a tiny bit of soldering. But it really is a tiny bit. It was pretty easy. I didn’t bother with the touch pad.

    – Use in game: I heard that the plastic version was overly sensitive. They have obviously revised it in this version because they had the perfect sensitivity for time I have used it. I never got any accidental clicks and when I needed to press it, the command came out reliably.

    – Changing the button for the paddle: As I said before, this is very easy. I know there is face button command you can do but I have opted to use the button on the back. They say press it for 3 seconds, but it more like 5 seconds. Not a biggie though.

    – The badass look to them: I know this isn’t a massive thing, or maybe it is (IDK). But it actually looks awesome. The ExtremeRate suit really works well together if you have the vision of a good looking controller.

The Bad (Okay, I am scraping the barrel here but there are two things that I might have an issue with.

    – There should be a tutorial for installing both LEDs and back paddles. I reckon I would have finished the install a lot sooner had I not have to jump back and forth between two tutorials.

    – The back metal lid for paddle doesn’t have the click it should do when you put it on. I was putting more force into closing it than I should have since I didn’t know it was actually locked in place. I might have broken it if I hadn’t kept checking it was closed.

All in all, I would highly recommend this. 5 stars!!

    More Control!

Been using this for about a month plus now mainly for COD. Currently no SCUF Controller for the PS5 and the one I saw was like 250+.
For almost a 1/10th of the price, it does the same thing and no issues this far.. Been slide cancelling like JoeWo 🙂

Best paddles you can install easily for the PS5 controlle

First off this is a cheaper alternative to an expensive pro controller like a scuff which I think are way overpriced and not really on the market yet, it may be tricky for some people to install because you do have to take apart your dualsense and attach new ribbons to the circuit board, but as long as you watch the installation video which you can find on youtube and take your time you should be fine, it took me about 45 minutes to an hour, the paddles are very responsive and everything works how it should, my only gripe is the positioning of the paddles because it’s easy to accidentally click them but just takes a little getting used to.

For the price you can’t complain, knowing that extreme rare are dropping metal paddles soon I’m going to buy another at least. I’ve had 3 scuf pads for ps4 and all are broken with 1 lasting 7 week so I will never buy another from them not to mention the customer service and disgusting 90 day warranty! These are great, nice responsive paddles. I was a bit worried about fitting this but there’s a couple of videos on YouTube that made it quite simple barring my sausage fingers! All in all for under 40 I’d say this is a bargain, takes a bit of getting used to but stick at it. 5 stars

I was thinking about buying an Aim controller for the PS5 while constantly looking for a Scuf and then I came across this beauty.

Very easy to install and comes with a great installation video. I did snap my microphone flex cable (paid 5 for a new one but I don’t use the pad mic anyway so not even installed it yet so don’t worry if you do the same as the pad will still work fine) but that was my fault I was being heavy handed so just be delicate around the flex cables as they are so easy to snap on any device really.

Honestly, do yourself and your wallet a favour and invest in one of these if you want a controller with back buttons.

Had mine for a good couple of months now and had some 8 hour plus sessions on Warzone. Spent a fair amount of time getting crazy on Shipment and Nuketown too and had no issues whatsoever with some eXtreme (get it) use.

Great product for little money in comparison to branded controllers.

Excellent product, so good infact I bought a second one for my other controller after a few week. I’ve had it a while now and even though the triggers are sensitive I found with a little practice there great! I really only use the right paddle so I just removed the left one and play with just the right now I personally feel its much more comfortable and still does the job I need it to do. This is a great bit of kit easy to install and adapt to your needs

I had used the one of extremerate PS4 remap kits and had found it quite difficult to install (went with soldering as well which it turns out is not one of my gifts!!) so I was a little nervous about fitting this. Turned out I didn’t need to as it was very straight forward (followed YouTube videos). I made a mistake on my first attempt and trapped a cable but that was easily rectified and I was up and running.

In summary great bit of kit and easy to install – just take your time and you should be ok

These paddles are great and very responsive I’d say they’re a must have and don’t know Sony didn’t include paddles on the back out of the box!

Just be careful and take your time when installing and it will be fine.. I did both my controllers and it was easy if your that way inclined. My brother however didn’t install the main ribbon cable properly and had issues with one or more buttons on his controller. Upon inspection it turned out the ribbon cable had creased and the holes had ripped so he needed a new one. He fit it perfectly the second time and all was good

Not to bad to fit, a little soldering to do but nothing too complicated. The only issue I had was the reassemble, don’t know if the set button was in the box or I’ve dropped it somewhere before I assembled it but it was missing and the ribbon cables took a little fettling to get the controller to work but once fitted it works well. The paddle buttons I agree with everyone there a tad bit sensitive but nothing you won’t get used to. As for the ease of use, could have done with instructions for how to set the paddles it took me at least a good half hour to figure it out as I’ve never had to set them before and the box does not come with setting instructions and without the plastic button to press was a little difficult pushing the set switch. Overall I enjoyed the challenge of fitting it myself and was a lot cheaper than buying a fitted controller, although 35.99 is still a little steep for the bits you get if they could have done it for at least 10 less it would be a lot better. As for longevity, time will tell. The quality looks good and feels like it’s good didn’t realise the white controller isn’t really white it’s more of a light grey so there is a slight mismatch of colour but that’s not going to affect functionality all’s good. If it breaks within 6months will let you know.

Easy follow instructions on YouTube was a bit fiddly to fit due to me having large fingers nothing to do with product. Works great on fps games only time will tell on durability but have no reason to think it will break as feels sturdy and responsive would recommend if you are looking at a mod like this for your ps5 controller.

Great job for little money, the replacement backs to the controller is easy marked however but if you don’t mind a little mark here and there it’s good.

Completely happy with this product. Pretty easy to install. Follow the video and you should be good even with little knowledge of tinkering with something like this. I have experienced other companies that make remapping kits for controllers and all of them give sub-par materials to work with. The complete opposite is the case with this product. Have recommended it to friends that have purchased it and I will buy again for my other controllers.

I’m completely useless at installing these type of things. However I followed a video on YouTube and made my way through it in about 30-45 minutes. Its not that hard just have to be gentle and take your time. The paddles are great, they feel comfortable in hand and our very responsive. Considering you’ll be paying the best part of 150-200 for a pre made controller. This is a bargain. I’m going to get another one next month for my other controller. Give it a go it’s well worth it.

I'm completely hopeless but there still grea

I did have a few hiccups with installation, but I’d be willing to bet that it was my fault and other people had an easier time. One of the ribbon cables provided was slightly bent, meaning it would come out of place when trying to reassemble the controller. Tip to anyone disassembling their controller: a pair of thin latex gloves make the ribbon cables easier to grip onto if they’re being stubborn.

Once installed the quality of the paddles themselves is very good. There is a decent bit of give in the paddles which can create some noise when moving the controller, but that is a better alternative to them being too sensitive. A press of the paddles provides a satisfying and tactile click. The back attachment is relatively unobtrusive and doesn’t alter the profile of the controller, however people with bigger hands may need to slightly adjust the position of their hands, bringing your middle fingers further in from the middle.

Setting up the controls of the “K” buttons, as they’re referred to, is a breeze and can be reprogrammed very easily with the LED indicator being nice and bright.

My biggest gripe with the product is due to the white being a completely different colour to the standard DualSense PS5 controller. Whilst it’s not a deal breaker it is pretty irritating and something I wish I knew beforehand so I would’ve purchased a different colour. I do prefer the texture of the original backplate (with the tiny PlayStation shapes) but the completely smooth texture of the new backplate is fine.

I’ve been meaning to get back button for a while for my ps5 controller and I was look at 3rd party custom controller but just couldn’t justify the price but after getting these, I was in love.
The back button feels prefect in my hands, the clicking is a little sensitive but I’ve gotten used to them and I think there great.
I’m quite hands on so I like taking apart controllers and fixing them so they where easy to install and set up.
They work perfectly and I’ve been using it for almost a month now so it’s been great so far and I’d recommend buying these if your looking for a fix-it-yourself, cheap product, COD players then this is for you.

Does what it claims, paddles function well, however they are sensitive and easy to accidentally click, but if you’re used to paddles with care this shouldnt be a massive problem.

The replacement back shell is a perfect fit, however the grip is cheap, you can tell, this isn’t a premium product grip wise.

The installation is relatively simple (I did not solder the extra wire) took me roughly 30-45 minutes, as long as you follow the well put together YouTube video you should be good, in short you a few ribbon cables and replace them with the ones in this pack which then connect to the new boards one sits internally and the other in the box on the back of the controller. You will run into issues if you misconnect the cables so follow the video carefully, and remember to plug everything back in.

Overall pleased with the item however I think it’s a little over priced for the quality. My only concern is the fact that the paddles are made out of plastic which could break with heavy use or force, however this hasn’t happened to me… Yet.

Like I said this is the only reasonably priced paddle attachment available at the moment for the ps5 controller that I have found, and with a decent delivery timeframe, I like the fact that it is also removable should you need to get another controller, providing you didn’t solder it in.

    6.5/10 for me.

This is a great quality product. I’ve use this sort of back replacement twice now and both times theve worked realy well.

ADVISORY: if you do buy this, I would recommend you use some tiny squares of double sided tape in the corners when lining up the circuits as the first time it must have jiggled loose as some buttons didn’t work but once i secured it, it was perfect.

Also in the pictures I’ve also got the front shell, faceplate and buttons from the same company. Fits grea

Good Quality feel but fiddly to fi

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersIf you use your ring fingers to press the back paddles like I did with the strikepack then having them hovering over this device it’s just too sensitive the slightest touch and the buttons press. You’re constantly on edge with the position of your hands cos you don’t want to press the buttons by accident. It feels like they’re designed to be used with the middle fingers. I’ll keep using it and hopefully get used to it. I’ve not been using it long, if I do get used to it quick i’ll edit my review. I feel like I can’t focus on my game though because i’m constantly worrying about where my fingers are.

Edit: Had it a while now, definitely more used to it but still think the buttons could be less sensitive. If they covered less surface area as well you’d be less prone to pressing them by accident. Also the white one looks nice, but as someone who likes to keep my things looking as fresh as the day I bought them, it’s not possible with this colour. Whatever material it’s painted in has a satin feel to it and even with clean hands it get’s dirt on it. Unfortunately you can’t wipe it off. It’s not like regular sony controller material where you can just wipe it off. It sets into the colour so antiseptic wipes or even alcohol won’t clean it. I’d go for a darker one or a shinier finish if I was to order again. The white doesn’t match the existing dualsense colour either.

Edit 2: So after speaking to Extremerate on Facebook they have sent me out some replacement screws (as one was missing to fit the unit to the controller), and they’ve also sent me a new rear shell because of the early staining on my current one. My only gripe now is the oversensitivity. I have become more accustomed to the buttons but would have liked it better if they were slightly less sensitive. Aside form that their customer service is spot on. Friendly and they get issues resolved quickly. I have changed my rating to a 4 star from a 3. At the end of the day they have provided a product a lot of us can’t do with out since becoming reliant on back buttons from our Ps4 consoles. It’s still a new product so I assume through the next few years we’ll see many companies and variations of attachments coming out on the market. If I had to buy this product again I would, while availability of this type of hardware seems pretty scarce at the moment this is in a good price range simply for cutting out the labour costs and following a simple tutorial on YT. If something less sensitive comes out in the future i’ll probably change. Anyone used to using their middle fingers for back buttons should probably just disregard my review as it doesn’t seem an issue for people that do. Just give it a week or so before making your mind up as it does take a little getting used to, even if you’ve used back paddles before. Some of the issue appears to be related to how slim the Dualsense is at the bottom of the handles as well compared to the Dualshock 4.

Takes a while to get used to but persistence pays off. White prone to permanent staining

DIY remap kit to provide back buttons for the PS5 Dual sense controller- if you used a DualShock 4 back button unit, or a Scuf controller with the PS4, this is the cheapest way of upgrading your DualSense I have found. Takes a little work, but works just fine. I fitted mine in about an hour and it worked first time. Not for everyone, but if you have a little skill and confidence with a screwdriver, it is doable.

The installation of this product is fairly easy, following the official video guide. I didn’t do any soldering so was just a case of replacing ribbon cables in the controller. I also installed extremerate faceplate, buttons and touchpad at the same time and had no issues putting it all back together. Controller works perfectly and the back buttons are easily accessible and in my opinion better than my previously owned scuf controllers rear pads. Definitely recommend.

Super simple installation. (if you don’t need the L3 R3 and touch pad)
    Very informative video on YouTube.
Evrything included in one package which is great also added a few extra screws and pins which is a bonus if you lose them… It’s a pain to find.
However only issue I’m experiencing is the back buttons are very sensitive and I keep pressing them accidentally. Maybe if it was a bit more firmer it would be perfect.

    Edit 1:

I am fully use to the buttons now and can tell you they are perfect and not sensitive.
I am now the meta MLG jumping, sliding, shooting, ProPro.

    Edit 2:
Originally ordered on 9/06/21 now its 2/12/21
One of the back buttons broke. The one i use for jumping.
It has a hairline fracture on it from constant use. Which was inevitable due to it being plastic.
From Roughly 200hours cod game play.

    Still a 5 product.
It would of been brilliant if they gave spares. Or even make metal versions.
