Geckosportz 3xPremium Golf Gloves 1xMatch Day AAA Cabretta

 

I purchased these GeckoSports gloves with some scepticism as the golf glove market is crammed with competing products.

Upon safe arrival the first things that I noticed was the free zipped pouch containing all three gloves. That is a very thoughtful addition and it saves you the normal action of “where do I put my glove – lets scrunch it up and throw it into a pocket”. So, a very nice well-padded holder to keep your gloves flat and protected.

Now to their use on the course.

It was a chilly but dry day so I started with the premium Cabretta leather. Upon initial wear, it was very comfortable; smooth to the touch yet sturdy enough to slip over my hand without stretching. I particularly liked the perforated leather which allowed your hand to ‘breathe’ and avoiding the usual ‘sweaty palms’ of other brands.

It was worn for 6 holes before it started to shower, so I immediately removed the glove and donned their Rain-glove, before carefully returning the Cabretta glove to its pouch. There was no sign of wear on the glove, which is unusual for Cabretta Leather (my normal Callaway brand would be showing signs of scuffing at the joint of my thumb).

My first impression was that the rain-glove did not fall out of shape when wearing. Then, during actual play the ‘honeycomb’ structure of the grip area performed very well indeed and the glove did not retain any wetness, unlike other brands which then often become ‘slimy’ and impossible to use.

The rain stopped and I changed to their basic ‘Practice’ glove. Like the other 2, it really did perform extremely well. Yes, its a lower quality and completely different to the touch, but it did what it said on the box. Its useable and I would have no problem in wearing it for a complete round.

So, for each type of glove, I would award a resounding 10/10 score.
Would I make them my ‘go to’ brand? YES.

Just one point to note, and not mentioning in any negative manner.

PLEASE look at the sizing instructions. I am normally a ‘S’ (small) glove size with a dimension across and around my knuckles of 18cm. For this brand I eventually had to chose a M/L size (Medium large). There is nothing worse that buying gloves which are impossible to wear.
