These do indeed appear to be very high quality, durable carbide cutting heads. They work very well, and are a bargain for the price. Nicely packaged too.
This did the job I needed it to do..excellent..
Found hard at first ,but did practice then got it right and works well if you take your time!
This is a well balanced cutter with a number of additional features. It sits nicely in the hand and allows just the right amount of cutting angle on the carbide cutting wheel. The ball-peen hammer attachment on the end of the handle is ideal for tapping off pre-scored sections of glass, although for heavier tiles you would be best to use tile pliers. The handle is hollow to allow some light oil to be stored which will drip feed the carbide cutting head. All the pieces, including two additional cutting wheels, can fit comfortably into the supplied clear-plastic holder.
Thoroughly recommended for traditional tile and glass cutting within the specified range of 2-22mm
There are cheaper ones out there but not as good. I know because I had to buy twice. Buy once this is your product. Don’t buy the cheaper ones
REALLY PLEASED WITH THIS ITEM VALUE FOR MONEY ALSO. RECCOMMEND THIS ITEM TO PURCHASE MRS L. WILLIAMS xx
Does not cut thick glass but does regular bottle thickness
Instructions on how to use this item would have been useful.
These glass cutter tools are good. It is easy to use and works well. The quality and sturdiness are good.
Far too much movement in the tool , hard to grip
Good value and easy to use I cut a mirror glass down very easy to cut nice clean cut too
Really easy to use. We used it to cut glass for our greenhouse
I had a practice first on several off cuts of glass. The first few Attempts I could not do it. And was giving up.
I think I was more scared of the glass breaking but with a good tap on the back of glass it broke clean where I had scored. Use gloves and glasses because tiny splinters of glass come off. So I’m pleased, lets see how cutting bigger pieces of glass is at the weekend.
I needed to cut a glass shelf and bought this based on reviews. It didn’t work, was messy, and the first cutter head kept moving no matter how much I tightened it with screw driver so I tried another one of the three cutter heads provided and still couldn’t cut the glass which was just under 2mm thick. It only succeeded in leaving score marks on the glass so I posted a one star review then got a message from Banatos offering me another cutter, or a full refund. I opted for refund and received it within two days. Not sure if maybe I just got a bad cutter as there are really good reviews on here for it, but quick full refund made me change my review as excellent customer service provider.
Used this to make very light work of cutting 2 built in wardrobe mirrors. Will be using it when I tile the bathroom.
If your looking for a decent glass cutter. This is the one. I used a couple of drops of baby oil to lubricate it.
I’m a complete novice but decided that I could tile the area behind the bath. I watched YouTube videos and asked for advice from those that have done it and went ahead.
Of course, there was bound to be a point where I needed to trim a tile or two so when I saw this for review, I went for it.
It was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be and now that I have finished it looks rather good.
Brilliant cutters, used for scoring 6mm pieces of glass. When used with heavy duty glass cutters makes easy work of the thicker pieces
Glass panes may only be disposed of in household waste. However, these usually don’t fit in the bin. That’s why it is necessary to crush it, so use glass cutters and break it. This works very well with this glass cutter.
It works well.
My mother does Tiffany glass and uses the cutter all day long. She always put oil in the back of the cutter. She loved the fact that this cutter had 3 replaceable blades. She finds it comfortable in her hand.
9.95 price seems fair for this tool.
I had never cut glass before. used this to cut thick mirror glass and it was brilliant, and so easy to use. Amazed with how well it went!
This diamond glass and tiles cutter tool arrived nicely boxed with three replaceable carbide cutting heads and user guide.
The tool looks and feels well made, sturdy and durable.
I have some glass cutters but this one is the first one with the self oiling system.
Oil is applied when the tool is pressed against the surface.
The tool is suitable even for thick glass, tiles, mirror from 2 to 22mm.
It is comfortable to grip and easy to use with just little effort.
I tried it on not very thick glass and it works well, the cut was straight and clear.
Good tool, excellent for my DIY projects.
Bought this to cut through toughened mirror glass on leg of a glass/mirror dressing table that got cracked at the bottom. Used baby oil to lubricate the blade. Works well. It is better than the cheaper version from B&Q. For the few pounds extra it is a good buy but, as I haven’t finished the job yet I will have to add to this review later. Perhaps with a picture. It has opened my mind to other jobs I could do with this product.
Glass Cutters Tool & Tile Cutter for Thick Glass Tiles Mirror Mosaic Cutting in The Range 2-22cm- Diamond Glass Cutter with Ergonomic Handle and Replaceable 3 Carbide Cutting Heads. My husband was impressed with these. Excellent quality and value for money. 5*.
9.95 at time of review.
This arrives in a small cardboard box measuring approx 18cm x 2.5cm x 2.5cm.
Inside you get a surprisingly decent translucent storage case which contains the tip holder, 3 tips, a small screwdriver for changing the tips & a small dropper for oil. (no oil included).
The case is pretty robust & would happy bounce around inside a tool kit keeping the contents clean & together until you need them.
The cutters are pretty much the same ones you find everywhere, they are nothing special but also nothing bad & you’d have no issues replacing them.
The tip holder seems madly overbuilt & I personally wouldn’t load the barrel up with oil myself but it’s a nice thought.
Might use it to hold an emergency fiver though.
The exterior of the barrel has a black textured finish which aids in keeping a firm grip when in use as it’s pretty non slip.
It feels really decent quality which I shouldn’t really be complaining about but I was just surprised.
I build a lot in miniature & the top/lid of the tip holder is a really nice screw on metal finial which I’m sorely tempted to steal to use in a project I’m working on.
The screwdriver & dropper are nothing special.
I used this to cut some 2mm & 6mm glass which was all I had to hand just now.
It did the job as well as any of these sorts of cutters do & feels nice in the hand.
GLASS CUTTING TOOL THAT CAN BETWEEN 2-22CM THICKNESS, IDEAL FOR MIRRORS, TILES, SHELVES ETC. ERGONOMIC HANDLE GIVES IT A NICE FEEL WHEN HOLDING. COMPLETE WITH 3 REPLACEABLE CUTTING HEADS. AUTOMATIC OILING SYSTEM BUILT IN.
There isn’t much to say about a glass cutter. Either it cuts or it doesn’t. This one does. And it comes with loads of additional tips
I am a hobby glass person. I normally use the glass cutting tools supplied by college leisure course. This is one works similar to the one I used before but more sturdy and solid, the scoring on glass is very good and the ball at 5e trend do the tipping well. So far the cutting I did with it is good. The set include two spare blade which is useful and the price under 0 is a good bargain.
This Glass and Tile cutting tool is was a review sample provided by Amazon vine.
I’ll start by saying that the quality of construction is really good, the textured grip feels nice I don’t expect it to slip out of my hand haha.
Before the use of this product please make sure you’re wearing goggles and gloves as it’s important to think safety first!!!
Scoring glass and tile is fairly easy just make sure the ball on the handle is opened and the handle is filled with fluid. When using the cutter I made sure to use a straight edge (metal ruler, square etc) so I made fewer mistakes, once I scored the desired length I placed the tile under my knee and pressed with the palm of my hands on the scrap side and the tile easy broke away.
As for durability, it is hard to say without using it for months or years but for a DIYer, this should last a lifetime especially as the product comes with 3 cutting heads in total.
Overall I’m happy with the cutting tool if you’re a tradesman or just want to do more decorating this is a worthy tool for you.
Small and light glass cutter, equipped with two spare alloy cutter heads, anti-skid pattern on the handle, screwdriver for disassembly and assembly of the cutter head, plastic storage box to protect the cutter head, the cutter is sharp and easy to cut thin glass, but it lacks broken pieces Tooth slots for glass.
Great glass cutter, very easy to use with a good holding stem . Good clean cut each time . Would highly recommend.
My wife is a dedicated crafter, and alongside acrylic painting and card making she’s just started to get into doing mosaics over the last few months. She had recently acquired a glass cutting tool but was happy to receive this Banatos tool to test alongside it.
For the last four weeks she’s been using the Banatos glass cutter quite extensively and she’s been generally very positive about it. I’ve even had a go myself, and remember why I’m not the crafter in this marriage.
The tool comes in a rectangular plastic case which closes securely, and contains the cutter and a couple of extra heads for it, plus a screwdriver for changing the cutters and an oil dropper. The tool should be used with the oil, and the instruction (very small print) also recommends glass-cutting pliers as well.
The cutter is solid and works well after a few trial goes, although we both commented that the grip on the shaft of the cutter isn’t entirely the most comfortable, but it’s passable. That said, it does feel sturdy and built to last.
This glass and tile cutter comes in a nicely presented package and once inside the outer box, you will find the glass cutter and accessories in a protective plastic box. This simply slides apart to reveal the tools inside.
The cutter itself has some weight to it and feels like a quality product. It comes with 2x spare replacement heads which are easily changed with a simple screw, which you can use the included screwdriver to do. When installing a cutting head, tighten the screw just enough to allow the cutting head to move up and down on the spring.
The cutter also features an automatic lubricating system which keeps the cutting wheel lubricated while it’s cutting. You unscrew the ball at the top of the cutter and put some oil in and reseal the ball top. The instructions didn’t state what type of oil to use so I used clean car engine oil. As you apply pressure to start the cut, the cutting head moves towards the cutter, and this enables the oil to run down to the cutting disc and keeps it lubricated.
I used this on some single glazing glass panels, and it worked well the first time. It’s old glass, so just used it for a test, so I marked a line and place a spirit level alongside the line which would give the cutter something to run against to give a straight cut. The cutting disc scored a line along the glass and simply bending both sides downwards, like breaking a chocolate bar, snapped the glass along the line revealing a nice, clean cut.
In conclusion, this is a great cutting tool for glass. I’ve never used one before, but a quick read of the included instructions was enough to get a successful cut on my first try. A great kit for your glass cutting needs
The smooth action means that you don’t have to apply as much pressure therefore less likely to break the glass
I’ve never used anything like this before but we had a section of floor tile which needed to be replaced – odd shape, so it would have cost us a fair bit to have it done professionally. So I thought we could try ourselves – and this is the exact tool. We practiced on an old tile, and yes I can confirm it does take some skill! This basically creates a deep score line, so you can then snap off the relevant section. We broke a few bits and it does create sharp edges so keep some sandpaper ready and wear thick protective gloves. We used some of my sewing machine oil in the little well inside, as none is provided and once that’s added, it does make the blade run more smoothly. My husband used pliers to hold the edge we wanted broken off too. So all this sounds complex but it does work and it proves it just needs a fair bit of practice, time and patience to achieve the right results. But for the value, it’s great, and will last years for us. Next project is a glass shelf, which I hope will be easier than the tile!
At under 9 this appears to be a very well made glass cutter, moreover coming with 2 replacement heads. It’s oil filled, improving cutting wheel duration and is essentially a copy of the fine German manufactured Silberschnitt device.
For anyone beginning stained glass making this is a bargain choice , though I note amazon has other apparently identical cutters under different (equally obscure) brand names for half this price. (though without extra heads).
A suggestion to the company is that if they do want to provide extra heads, a narrow one would complement the broad ones provided.
I received this glass cutter through the Amazon vine program
This looks to be a well made product, it arrived in a nice presentation box and was neatly packed inside.
The cutter it’s self is of a good quality material with durable carbide heads, and feels good when using it
It states to be automatic oil feed too the cutter head ! Firstly you have to unscrew the ball on the cutter and put some oil down the handle to obtain this function,
This cutter with its three cutting heads should last you a life time if you are just a DIY
I have just tried this cutter out and found it dose what it’s supposed to do cut glass and tiles with little effort so I can highly recommend this product for its quality, price and how it handles
I hope you found this review helpful
This is a tool that scores glass or tiles and then allows you to snap it. This gives a nice almost clean cut, although I did need to use some sanding blocks to get rid of a few little nicks.
The tool comes with three heads so it will last quite a while. The heads are pre-oiled rather than having a separate bottle of oil, but I do have some fine grade oil if needed.
Once the tile or glass has been scored I place a wooden dowel rod underneath and gently apply pressure with the flat of my hands, this then breaks the glass, tile along the scoreline. It is a basic but quite effective process and I do suggest you wear proper gloves while doing this.
Overall a nice tool and a handy one to have for crafting or general home use. I would happily recommend it.
This was a life save when re tiling the bathroom. The cutter is great, precise, sharp and easy to use. Once you’ve got used to it you can achieve some great results.
Only used it once so far and does the job very well. There is no indication what grade oil to use so assume 3 in 1 brand is OK.
Nice little glass cutter. Cuts glass and ceramic tiles. Great little tool, very pleased.
A must for glass cutting and it comes with 3 heads!
