Got this for my son, he’s studying car mechanics at college, and he loves it. Had a look before I gave it to him, it’s a great little starter set and seems to be good quality too, shame he won’t use it on my car.

These tools are great to keep in the car for issues you my have or for infrequent use as I feel these will start to chip and ware out very quickly if you where to use these tools everyday.

Fits perfectly in my saddlebag I don’t even know it in there. Sturdy set should last for years. The case latches could be better but it’s not a deal breaker for the money

This was a birthday gift for my grandson as he’s doing car maintenance at college.
    He absolutely loved it.
Value for money, and nice sturdy set.
Great start out set for anyone.
Everything was checked, no missing parts.

his is about as close to perfect for a set of tools to keep in my car. as it turns out I needed it a week after getting it. I had a dead battery at work and this gave me what I needed to change out my battery in about 10 minutes.

After years DIY car repairs I’m down sizing my toolkit to live kn a canal boat. This ‘little’ toolkit provides pretty much everything I’ll need for engine servicing/repair. Whilst the contents don’t appear to be quite as sturdy as leading pro brand names, they are more than up to the job for an ‘essential repair’ person and cone in a solid case.

I bought them as I needed to do some work on my car (change spark plug and some coils). It turns out I was missing the exact plug socket for my specific spark plugs but that’s just a detail.
The ratchet set is perfect for almost everything in a car. I maybe wish the ratchet wrench was a bit longer to have more power. The box itself looks very weak too.

This comes with nearly everything you could need. I would have liked a few more spanners, and a slightly longer extension bar, but other than that? Really happy.

I bought these tools for my boyfriend & he absolutely loves them. The only thing he didn’t really like was that the ratchet feels loose. 100% recommend these as a gift or just to use for anything.

Best kit I could find in this price range. Couple of things would have made it better. Have a pair of wire cutters instead of the linesmen pliers, get rid of the chintzy test light and improve the case a bit. As the picture shows, the pliers interfere with each other and the needle nose pliers don’t have enough room to set into the case as the linesmen pliers are in the way. Also, the sockets are loose and are only held in place by a thin foam liner (also loose) when the case is closed.

Wanted a molded case of tools for the car in case we needed to work on it while out and about. This has just about everything you’d need for simple stuff. I wasn’t expecting a test light to be included, so that was a nice bonus!

Bought as a present the house does not go back exactly as it should and I am not sure why you would want 2 sets of Allan keys which don’t fit the holes they have been allocated. Other than that it’s good for home stuff..

I ordered this kit to go under the backseat in my new pickup and it was a perfect size to easily fit the area and not slide around. It has most of the tools I think I would ever need in an emergency while driving. I could see buying this for starter tool set too, but for an emergency kit, it’s perfect. The customer service was amazing. The kit came in with some cosmetic damage to the case so I emailed them to see if they could get me a new case, as the tools inside were fine. After a few back and forth contacts, they sent me a whole new set of tools.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this to keep in the boot of my car. It’s a compact toolbox with a useful range of tools, handy for simple roadside repairs, but also for other jobs when I’m away from the house, like when I pop round to my mum’s house, or when we’re away camping.
The tools are good quality, the selection is good and the price is right.
    Perfect, thanks.

I mean it’s not expensive so you get what you pay for (in terms of the quality of tools), but for any general purpose application it’ll do the job. Tools feel well built, but wouldn’t trust these in a professional environment.
(Solid metal, grips are “slightly uncomfortable” but if you want anything better you’re gonna have to pay a bit mrore)

As title says, if its your first tool box its perfect.

Review for Hi-Spec 89 Piece Home & Garage Auto Mechanics Tool Kit Set. Full Set of Complete Car, Motor Bike & Home Repair & Maintenance DIY Hand Tools for The Workshop. All in a Storage Case.

A toolset aimed at mechanics and workshops but one which can be used for other purposes. Having very few decent pliers this was a welcome relief in that it provides 3 different pliers made from nickel plated carbon steel. A comprehensive CRV socket and torque set with CRV carbon steel spanners and hex keys for good measure. The toolset comes with handy hard storage case for securely storing and carrying all the tools in. Overall good quality toolset which should satisfy all many needs of mechanics and DIY alike, reasonably priced and comes with compact hard storage case.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a lovely set of tools. Of course, I’ve been watching those programmes on the telly; the ones that show you how they built the finest cathedrals and pyramids with a couple of rusty chisels and a plumb line. This being said, although my dad, like me, wasn’t a great DIY man he used to say something that still rings in my ears to this day. “Without the proper tools, you can’t get the job done.” The trouble is for many folk, like me, we don’t really know what we need and what we are missing — so it’s then hard for us to contemplate even the simplest of jobs.
For sure: today we have so many different tools, appliances, fittings, fixtures and so on available to us that it becomes mind-boggling. I was watching on an internet video site a tutorial about screw heads and never knew there were so many available including the Canadian square-headed one.
You’ll find in one hit within this tool set, with no fewer than 89 pieces, a great many of the tools you’ll need to get ‘engineering’ jobs squared away — thus cycling, car maintenance, wall fixtures and fittings and of course plumbing. Thus, in the past couple of weeks I’ve been attaching a very scary TV bracket to the wall. I know that I am not strong enough to screw any sort of pozidriv or Philips screw home but I did know that with a coach bolt and a suitable socket and driver — as found in this well-featured kit — even I could get those bolts firmly home and secure and so it was. The tools within have a nice feel within one’s grip and feel sturdy.
Next up, I have been twizzling some radiator valves. The plumber had screwed home the TRV radiator valve but I wanted to fit a smart valve/hub. I couldn’t undo the TRV but of course within this fine set there is a nice selection of fine-nosed, standard pliers and a lovely adjustable spanner that worked beautifully. Also, when replacing some of the screw-in valves at the top of the radiator I found that I didn’t have a spanner large enough but again within this set there was a lovely socket that fitted beautifully. Having the right tools within one’s grasp and then realising how they can assist you also builds confidence and this is the most vital element upon which, I would say, all DIY jobs rest.
Not only are the tools nicely presented within a neat carry case but its also a visual thing so that you can detect the tool you need after a quick inspection. Coming back to the screw types, for instance, there is a nice rack of screw head drivers that you can select and then slot in to the handle for just about any job certainly that I could contemplate.
So, this is a perfect set to assist those like me who aren’t particularly strong and need the advantage that a well-constructed sturdy and suitable tool can provide but it also serves as a great starting position to start easy jobs at home and then of course build from there. With this as a base it is then easy to begin to add say woodworking tools like a saw and drill bits to it to expands one’s DIY repertoire.
More than this. My daughter is in the process of setting up her first home. I was surprised but delighted when she asked me if I had any unwanted tools that I could give her so she could begin to assemble her own tool kit. I only cried a little, certainly for no longer than half an hour as I handed this fine set over. Happy DIY-ing with our thanks.
Photos shows radiator valves and TRV valve not escaping this tool set’s clutches.

I have always like tinkering with cars and have collected quite a few tools during my time. Sadly, over the years some of my tools have seen better days. So when I had the chance to get this kit I jumped on it like a dog on a bone and I’m so glad I did.
It’s a brand I’m not too familiar with so I was not expecting much, but when it arrived and I checked them over I was surprised at the high quality of each tool.
The metal of each socket is solid and showed no signs of slipping off the nut/bolt
The ratchets are solid and work very well indeed, and the attachments are easy to put on and pull off.
It’s got everything I need when tucking into the engine of my daughters old car, getting the tools covered in oil and gunge which wipes off with ease. There’s nothing in an engine these tools can not be used on. And the tools are not just for engines.
And the bonus is that these tools come in a blow-moulded casing and there is a place inside for all the tool. The case made of a good strong plastic with sturdy handles and clasps
In all, if you’re unsure of the name ‘Hi-Spec’ I have to tell you that the tools in this case are certainly Hi-spec and seem to be made to last.

You may not know of the brand but these tools inside the box ar Hi-Spec

Very good quality tools, especially for the price. The case let’s it down as some tools are held in so tight you have to use one of the other tools to remove it, and some others just fall out. Perfect starter tool set though with all the bits you need. Only thing I would add would be a small hand drill and bits but you can get those cheap else where anyway.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersDecent little tool kit in a compact case.
Good for little jobs around the house but not sure about anything more heavy, the hammer is almost what I would call a tack hammer, it’s pretty small but good enough for putting up picture hooks or tapping a chair leg back in place or some such. Loads of different allen keys for those pesky times when you need one but can never find one the right size

In fact, come to think of it, it’s probably the perfect flat pack assembly kit!

Ordered on Monday had it on Friday (bearing mind I life in Ireland so have to use a 3rd party company to get it delivered down) which I think is great service.

Nice little tool set that will look after 95% of household jobs, everything feels well made too. At less than 30 including postage It really is excellent value.

I docked 1 star because they didn’t deliver directly to ROI and I had to use parcel hotel, if I still lived in the UK it would be 5 stars.
