This seemed a bit hard at first as i used it to line hanging baskets. However softened and could be pulled into shape. Spring flowers and bulbs thrived though very cold winter, so obviously some thermal quality. Best and unexpected bonus is that birds seem to think it ideal for their nesting materials. From tits ,goldfinches to jackdaws. Fascinating to watch their industry.
This pack of wool liners arrived in a paper bag which looks environmental friendly. The pads are very lightweight but thick and dense. They can protect seeds well by looks of it. The winter is coming and the plants in my garden really need them. The price is a bit high though.
It’s a really nice natural product that does not affect the environment negatively at all which is so much preferable to using nylon fleece. It does hold the moisture a bit more , but if you use it in the right places it is very efficient. Great for adding extra insulation to plants overwintering in the greenhouse.

Absolutely great, packaged in a brown paper bag and just what we have been looking for
We had received something similar to this in a chilled food delivery as insulation
Delighted as it will be marvellous insulation for our garden tubs in the poly tunnel over winter
A pack of 5 pads – 66 cm x 27 cm for approx 13
Should last us quite awhile
Highly recommend, 100% British and no smell or chemicals
(Hope you found my review helpful)
This is a pack of 5 pads – 66 cm x 27 cm, made from 100% pure British wool. Great for mulching around newly planted plants – we have them around our hostas. Birds and wildlife use the fibres for nesting so hopefully the sparrows won’t take all of it! Protection against slugs (hopefully!) A good use for a product that sadly doesn’t seem to have much value these days.
These woollen mats are great as a garden mulch to keep moisture in, and also as a frost protector. They would work out quite expensive for whole beds, but for my pots they are ideal. Don’t completely keep slugs at bay but they do provide some protection from them. Excellent natural idea.
This wool pad for garden was something that I have never used this before and have no idea how it is going to play out but I am going to try and protect my young fig tree this winter with it. I am hoping that it works and is weatherproof. Hopefully I will still have a fig tree in the Summer for me to have some lovely edible figs from. It looks sturdy enough lets hope it works.
Excellent! Decently sized lengths of pure wool (smells gorgeous!) and at a good price. In fact, I don’t believe there is anything else like it on the market at the moment. I have been searching for similar pads for a while, having received some in the form of insulation for foods in the post and discovered how good they are.
They are great for keeping weeds down, for insulation and water retention. The birds love it for their nesting material in the spring, so I plan on leaving a little available for them.
They are NOT good at keeping slugs away. It seems nothing is, unless I just happen to have super slugs.
I love these so much I am actually reluctant to use them all until I get more.
This is much better quality than the anti-weed matting you buy in garden stores – but also much more expensive. At the current price (9.99) it works out at 11.21 per square metre, so you won’t be mulching large beds with it. But it is thick, and natural, and when it mulches down it will add some goodness to the soil. A good product, in my view, insofar as it is affordable.
Theses are perfect for protection agents frost, then in the spring and summer assist with water retention, I will try one next year in a basket as well, really innovative product and British as well. Brillia
This is a neat update on my 90 year old uncles old jumpers which he used to lay on the soil around his veg plants.
It not only stops the slugs and snails venturing over to chomp down on my plants but it also keeps moisture in the soil, stops weeds emerging and keeps in some heat.
It is easy to use, allows rain and the hose pipes water through ( slowly and some is absorbed but it does get through).
It’s a really old idea updated and done well.
