Mit diesem Growing System kann man seine Anzug im Frhjahr erheblich verkrzen, sodass mich der beleuchtete Topf im Ergebnis berzeugen konnte.
Die Qualitt ist einfach gehalten, der Kunststoff nicht so stabil, wie ich es bei dem Preis erwartet hatte, dafr ist die Funktionalitt aber voll gegeben, sodass ich insgesamt solide 4 Sterne vergebe.
Das KioGro Hydroponics Growing System, macht sehr viel Spa.
Wer wie wir, auch im Winter nicht auf frische Tomaten, Kruter und Salat aus der eigenen Ernte verzichten will, ist mit dem Hydroponics System sehr gut beraten. Besonders Kruter, wie Basilikum, Schnittlauch, Petersilie und sogar Minze wachsen sehr gut in einem Hydroponics System.
Bei Tomaten und Salat (auch Chilis), wird es schon etwas schwieriger, hier ist ein bisschen Handarbeit angesagt, Tomatenpflanzen sollten fr einen besseren Ertrag von Hand bestubt werden, Salat muss immer wieder ein bisschen zurechtgestutzt werden, damit er gut gedeiht, aber mglich ist alles.
Der Preis von aktuell rund 75 Euro geht auf jeden Fall in Ordnung, das Set ist ein toller Einstieg in die Hydroponics Welt.
Wir sind sehr zufrieden und wrden es jederzeit wieder kaufen.

This is a simplistic set up compared to more expensive types. The unit offers a light timer, but it’s limited in its functionality. You can set it for 12, 14, or 16 hours and it will turn on and off the same time every day, depending on when you set it. That is good since it creates a faux sun rising and setting effect to provide adequate light for plant growth. The longer lighting timeframe always works best for my indoor plants, so the lack of light duration so far hasn’t been an issue of concern. The pump is quieter than some of my other units, so that is a plus. I’m growing spoon and cherry tomatoes and so far, this unit is doing a great job.
This KioGro hydroponics grow system is a nice introduction to indoor hydroponic growing. It’s a bit light on frills and added features but it has everything you need to get started growing your own herbs and other plants at home easily. I do wish the instructions were more detailed for newcomers. The light is height adjustable and you can control the brightness. The system has a timer you can set to run for 12-16 hours a day. Unfortunately you can’t control the pump and the light separately, though.
The growing supplies appear to be the standard issue ones you can find easily online though the plastic cones may be a little shorter. The grow sponges kind of stick out of the top of them more than other models I’ve looked at. Neither one of those things affects functionality, though. Setup was pretty easy and I’ve got some baby herbs growing so I’m pleased with it overall.

Qualitt und Verarbeitung:
Der Aufbau des KorGrop Hydro Indoor Gartens ist simpel und kinderleicht und dank der bebilderten Anleitung in wenigen Minuten erledigt. Das KioGrop Hydro System ist gut bis sehr gut verarbeitet und macht einen soliden Eindruck. Der 4 Liter Tank ist ausreichend dimensioniert um 12 Pflanzen dauerhaft mit Nhrlsung zu versorgen. Der Tank verfgt ber eine transparente und gut ablesbare Wasserstandanzeige. Die integrierte Pumpe arbeitet leise aber doch hrbar und je nach Wasserstand kann sich ein leises Pltschern bemerkbar machen. Dies ist keinesfalls strend und geht in den Alltagsgeruschen sowieso unter.
Die Beleuchtung besteht aus 139 Grow LEDs mit 20 Watt Leistung und verfgt ber ein volles Lichtspektrum das sowohl fr Wuchs als auch Blte der Pflanzen geeignet ist. Die LED’s bestehen aus 64 weien, 55 gelben, 15 roten und 5 blauen LED’s.
ber die integrierte Zeitschaltuhr (Timerfunktion) kann man zwischen 3 verschiedenen Grow-Modis switchen. Es stehen 16/8 — 14/10 und 12/12 Stundenintervalle zu Verfgung. Der erste Wert bezieht sich immer auf die Lichtstunden und der zweite auf die Dunkelphasen. Konkret bei 16/8 Stunden luft die Beleuchtung 16 Stunden und schaltet sich danach fr 8 Stunden aus. Danach beginnt der Prozesse von vorne. Die Einstellung erfolgt kinderleicht ber einen Multifunktionsknopf und zeigt per LED Anzeige den gerade ausgewhlten Modus dauerhaft an. Der Multifunktionsknopf verfgt zudem ber eine Memoryfunktion und speichert bei 5 sekundigen Drcken den akutellen Zeitpunkt als Startzeit fr den Timer. Das Gerteschaltet sich dann immer zur gleichen Uhrzeit selbststndig ein.
Praxistest:
Nachdem man den Tank mit normalem Leitungswasser befllt hat, gibt man die entsprechende Menge an Nhrstofflsung A und B dazu. Im Anschluss knnen dann die Pflanzen oder Samen in einem der 12 Pltze eingepflanzt werden. Fr meinen Praxistest habe ich mich fr Jungpflanzen von Basilikum, Schnittlauch und Petersilie entschieden. Diese kann man von verschiedenen Herstellern in diversen Bau- oder Supermrkten fix und fertig kaufen. Der Vorteil gegenber Samen ist, dass man eine erhebliche Zeitersparnis hat. Alternativ kann man natrlich auch mit Samen arbeiten. Hier empfiehlt es sich Samen fr Balkongemse/-kruter zu verwenden da diese Pflanzen nicht so gro werden wie regulres Saatgut. Vorteil bei Samen, es gibt deutlich mehr Auswahl an verschiedenem Gemse und Krutern als bei Jungpflanzen.
Insgesamt ist das KioGro Hydorponic Indoor Garten System besonders anfngerfreundliches selbstlaufendes System, das nur wenig Pflege und Aufmerksamkeit bentigt. Wasserstand checken und ggf. Wasser und Dnger nachgieen, der Rest luft von alleine. Die Wuchszeit der Pflanzen ist bei Hydrosystemen deutlich schneller als auf Erde und auch die Ernte fllt deutlich ppiger aus. Ein weiterer besonders groer Vorteil ist, das sich aufgrund der fehlenden Erde und Hydroanbauweise kein Ungeziefer wie Trauermcken etc.. bilden knnen.
Fazit:
Als Indoor Kruter und Gemsegarten kann ich das einsteigerfreundliche Komplettset KioGro Hydorponic Indoor Garten System absolut weiterempfehlen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhltnis ist sehr gut und die Verarbeitung einwandfrei. Wer gerne einfach und schnell Kruter und Gemse in der eigenen Kche anbauen mchte, kann bei dem KioGro System bedenkenlos zuschlagen. Bis auf Pflanzen und Samen ist alles dabei um sofort loszulegen, prima! Von mir erhlt das Set 4 von 5 Sternen und einen Preis-Leistungs-Tipp!

This thing is great it came with everything you need start minus the seeds. I use a different nutrient than what came in the box. It’s super quiet and has a few different light modes. The only thing I don’t like are the grow sponges that came with it. When they get wet they get too tall and stick out of the pods. Unlike the aerogarden and another off brand hydroponic system I have the sponges sit completely inside the plastic pod. I would definitely buy this one again.

Absolut Licht- und grtenteils Umgebungsunabhngig sich etwas Anzchten zu knnen ist klasse!
Das System von KioGro tut dabei voll seinen Dienst und liefert alles mit was man braucht, ber das Basisgert (welches fr die Standardkche sicherlich zu gro ist!), bis hin zur Nhrstoffen, Pflanzen-LEDs und der “Erde”.
Die Ergebnisse bentigen ein paar Wochen, knnen sich aber sehen lassen.
Im Endeffekt ist das ganze ein Selbstlufer, insofern man den Wasserstand und die Nhrstoffe etwas im Blick behlt – der Rest luft automatisch. Damit auch eher was fr “faule” Grtner 🙂

Das “KioGro Hydroponics Growing System” kommt in einem groen Karton, wo neben der Pumpe auch Steck- sowie Aufstze, Nhrstoffflssigkeit sowie schwammartiges Material enthalten sind. Kenne die ganzen Wrter nicht so genau, da es auf Englisch ist. Fakt ist, das Teil ist erstmal riesig und bietet Platz fr 12 Anbauflchen. Da ist es egal, ob man Kruter oder lieber einen kleinen Salat aufziehen will, welchen man entweder drin lsst oder spter in die Erde bringt. Man befllt erstmal den Behlter mit Wasser, das Gert lsst sich nebenbei oben herausfahren, womit man die Hhe der Beleuchtung bestimmen kann. Hier empfehle ich die 4 Liter voll zu machen. Auch die Wasserpumpe lsst sich einstellen oder gar ganz auen vorlassen. Ansonsten liegt alles dabei, was man so braucht, Schwmme, Steckflchen, damit man sehen kann, was man da angepflanzt hat. Im Prinzip hat man fast alles da, was man braucht, um seine Pflanzen voranzubringen. Lediglich die Samen muss man sich vorher selber kaufen. Die Dngerflaschen halten auch eine Weile und ich finde es interessant, dass diese “Pflanzkegel” aus Kokosfasern bestehen. Lsst sich super darin Pflanzen anbauen. Vor allem, dass man dann die ganze Zeit Zugriff auf die Wasserquelle hat, gefllt mir sehr. Die Wasserpumpe macht dann den Rest. Einzig und allein beides zusammen mit der Lampe wird den Stromzhler in die Hhe treiben, daher empfehle ich nur mit Bedacht das Gert zu benutzen oder als Vorreiter fr den Frhling. Aber ein Gert fr das ganze Jahr wrde ich es nicht nutzen wollen, da hrt der Spa auf. Obwohl man ja seine Pflanzen gerne selber zieht, da es im Laden “gnstiger” und mit weniger Aufwand verbunden wre.
Das Gert
Viel Plastik, viel Platz, aber wenig Ertrag. Das Gert ist natrlich nicht dafr da, dass man damit unendlich viele, lukrative Pflanzen zchten kann, sondern es ist etwas, womit man seine Liebe zum Garten befriedigen kann, sodass man eben auch im Winter Pflanzen anbauen kann. Auch wenn man hier beschrnkt auf Salate und Kruter ist. Dafr sprechen der Umfang und die Qualitt des Gerts, welche wirklich in Ordnung sind. Lediglich der Stromverbrauch ist nicht ohne, da man Pumpe und Beleuchtung benutzt. Aber zum Glck nicht dauerhaft. Auerdem sollte man wissen, dass man sich die Samen selber besorgen muss und auch viel Platz in der Wohnung bereitstellen muss, denn der Schein trgt.
Fazit
“KioGro” macht einen soliden Job, das Gert funktioniert einwandfrei und auch die Pflanzen lassen sich darin gut zchten. Man muss sich auf jeden Fall damit beschftigen, alles richtig durchlesen und dann luft es auch. Eine coole Sache, wenn man auch innerhalb der vier Wnde was anbauen will oder fr den Frhjahr vorsorgen mchte. Die 12 Pltze haben auch geradeso gengend Platz, um sich auszubreiten. Wenn man den Stromverbrauch beiseitelegt, fhlt sich das schon befriedigend an. Wer gerne im Garten ist und auch im Winter davon nicht genug bekommen kann, der kann so ein kleinen “Gewchshaus” fr daheim sich zulegen. Macht auf jeden Fall Laune, obwohl es erstmal viel Platz auch wegnimmt. Kann ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen, wenn man eine gute Ergnzung zum Garten sucht, damit man auch im Winter den Spa an der Natur nicht verliert.

The whole system is compact and it can fit anywhere in your house. It is slick and modern and looks really good. Once your plants start to grow this can be a very helpful accessory to your plants but at the same time, your house will be more beautiful as this can be a nice decoration in the corner of your room.
The whole set includes everything you need to start growing. You will receive one grow system, 12 grow baskets, 12 grow domes, 24 grow sponges, 12 tags, 12 stickers 2 plant food power adapters and a user manual. As you can see there is plenty of stuff that you can use with first growth.
The grow system features the useful light timer, and different modes (depending on what light your plants need the most) 4l water tank does not forget that this is a self-watering growing system. All you will have to do is just maintain the water level, raise the light as your plants are growing and keep an eye on them if everything is fine.
I’ve already grown my first set of plants and I can say I am in love with this growing station. It nearly does everything for you and plants seem a lot healthier than with my old method where I just planted them in some soil and hoped for the best.
Einen grnen Daumen habe Ich eigentlich nicht wirklich, und gerade jetzt im Winter wrde eine Aufzucht von Krutern oder Salaten bei mir wohl nicht klappen.
Das Hydroponics “Growing System”, also eine Art Aufzuchtstation fr Setzlinge, macht einen “plastiken” ersten Eindruck. Auch das ausziehbare Licht fhlt sich eher wackelig an. Da man die Aufzuchtstation jedoch im Normalfall in Ruhe stehen lsst, tut das keinem weh, denn sobald es einmal ausgezogen ist, bleiben die LEDs stabil auf der Position stehen,
Die Anleitung ergibt in meinen Augen gar keinen Sinn und kann eigentlich direkt in den Mll wandern, da die Funktion des Gerts jedoch eigentlich selbsterklrend ist, bentigt man zum Glck keine Anleitung.
Einmal eingestellt leuchten die LEDs immer zum eingestellten Zeitpunkt fr die eingestellte Dauer, je nachdem wie lange es beleuchtet wird, hat man natrlich auch z.B. einen hheren Stromverbrauch.
Die Pumpe hingegen luft alle 30 Minuten fr 5 Minuten, das sorgt fr gengend O2-Zufuhr und eine einigermaen gesunde Wasserumgebung.
Der beigelieferte Dnger soll gem Hersteller definitiv hinzugegeben werden, und auch im Laufe der Wachstumsphase der Pflanzen immer wieder erneuert werden.
Ein Manko gibt es dennoch, die Beschriftungspfeile sind absoluter Mll, da viel zu gro und dementsprechend unpassend.
Im Groen und Ganzen gefllt mir das Growing System sehr gut, einige Setzlinge habe Ich mittlerweile gro genug fr den eigenen Topf bekommen, und grad im Winter eine gute Sache, wenn man Spa daran hat, sich seinen eigenen Salat o.. grozuziehen.
Das hydroponische Anzuchtsystem von KioGro kommt komplett mit Allem, was man zum Starten bentigt, auer dem Wichtigsten, Samen. Strt mich nicht, weil man so selbst entscheiden kann, was man anziehen will und nicht irgendwelche Samen rumliegen hat, die man nicht will.
Die Nutzung ist denkbar einfach, man steckt ein kleines Krbchen mit einem Pflanzkegel und Saatgut in eines der 12 Lcher, fllt Wasser und ein bisschen vom beiliegenden Dnger in den Behlter und schaltet das Licht an.
Man kann whlen, ob die Beleuchtung 12, 14 oder 16 Stunden am Tag eingeschaltet werden soll, das geschieht dann tglich automatisch. Zwischendurch schaltet sich auch mal kurz eine Pumpe ein und wlzt das Wasser um.
Damit die Samen anfangs nicht austrocknen liegen kleine durchsichtige Minikuppeln bei, die man auf die Pflanzkegel auflegen kann.
Ich habe Salatsamen und Kruter ausprobiert und war berrascht, wie schnell diese gekeimt haben, nach 4 Tagen waren die ersten kleinen Triebe zu sehen. Ich habe das Gleiche vorher schon auf der Kchenfensterbank ausgest, aber da hat es wesentlich lnger gedauert oder hat gar nicht erst funktioniert.
Die Beleuchtung hat eine Leistung von 20 Watt. Klingt erstmal wenig, lppert sich aber bei mindestens 12 Stunden tglich auch zusammen, macht im Monat zwischen 7,2 und 9,6 kWh. Das sollte man wissen.
Dafr bekommt man aber auch ein gutes System um Pflanzen selbst zu ziehen, auch fr Kinder ist es bestimmt interessant den tglichen Fortschritt zu beobachten.
Ich finde das System nicht schlecht und kann es empfehlen.

It doesn’t have any heating so you need to put it somewhere that isn’t too cold.
Although I haven’t yet planted any herbs, this growing kit looks great. It’s well made, feels solid and contains everything you need.
I like the fact that the light can move up and down to accommodate the height of the growing plants and you can keep it low for best effect. I feel the pot compartments are a little close together so feel it could get quite crowded in there. However I’ve never successfully grown my own herbs so anything will be good.
I’m quite confident that this kit will yield good results and having read the instructions through I’m pretty confident.
This came together easily, though the instructions are a bit sparse (the online listing does a better job of explaining how to set up the grow cones). I like how lighting program can be changed to better fit the needs of your plants, and the vertical height of the lights can be adjusted to raise the lights as the plants grow. After about ten days I had one sprout, though my seeds were at least a year old. I take this as a win, as it proves that the unit works, even if everything doesn’t grow at a uniform rate. It’s quiet, it makes my green thumb marginally better, and it’s fun to hope that I can actually harvest some food inside.
Auer der Station mit Licht und Pumpe wird folgendes Zubehr mitgeliefert:

Die Inbetriebnahme ist recht einfach, Krbe einsetzen, Wasser fllen, mit Samen gefllte Pflanzschwmme einsetzen, Deckel drauf. Anschlieend wird die Station eingesteckt und die gewnschte Laufzeit eingestellt.
Der mitgelieferte Dnger ist in fester Form in den Flaschen, diese mssen noch mit Wasser gefllt und der Dnger aufgelst werden. Dieser wird dann nach Wasser- und Pflanzenmenge zugegeben.
Was natrlich heutzutage noch wichtig ist, der Stromverbrauch. Hierzu folgende Rechnung:
Die Station muss mindesten 12 Stunden am Tag in Betrieb sein, geringere Zeiten sieht der Timer nicht vor.
Die Leistungsaufnahmen sind mit Pumpe ca.18,3W, nur Lampe ca. 16W. Die Pumpe ist je Stunde 5 Minuten in Betrieb, die restlichen 55 Minuten ist diese aus.
Zustzlich bentigt das Netzteil auch whrend der Ruhephase ein wenig Strom. Grob berschlagen rechne ich fr die 12 Stunden Betriebszeit mit durchgehend 17W.
Somit bentigt die Station bei Einstellung auf 12 Stunden ca. alle 5 Tage 1kWh Strom. Das bedeutet wiederum runde 73kWh im Jahr, allerdings nur wenn die Station das ganze Jahr im Betrieb ist, was kaum der Fall sein wird. Realistisch gesehen wird diese Station kaum mehr wie 30 Tage im Jahr laufen (Pflanzzeit, vorher Setzlinge ziehen usw.). Bei 30 Betriebstagen wre die Station dann noch bei rund 6kWh im Jahr was durchaus verkraftbar ist.
In meinen Augen nettes “Zuchthaus” was seinen Zweck erfllt. Der aufgerufene Preis von 59,99.- ist in meinen Augen in Ordnung.
Ich gebe daher gerne verdiente und gute 4 Sterne und halte die Station fr Selbstanpflanzer fr durchaus sinnvoll.

Die Aufzuchtstation kam gut verpackt und ohne jegliche Mngel bei mir an. Ich muss sagen, dass ich mich erst in der Anfangsphase des Selbst anpflanzen bin und somit auch nicht viel Vorerfahrungen in diesem Bereich habe, aber mich riesig drauf freue weiter experimentieren und lernen zu knnen. Dieses Gert ist dafr gut geeignet, da ich ganz jhrlich anpflanzen kann.
Als Erstes ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Gert ganz schn gro ist. Zum Glck habe ich eine berbreite Fensterbank, die gleichzeitig auch noch eine Steckdose hat, was dies zu einem idealen Platz fr das Gert macht. Man sollte sich jedoch bewusst sein, dass diese Station schon viel Platz wegnimmt.
Als ich dann alles ausprobieren wollte, hat mich dieses Set ein bisschen berfordert. Dies ist wahrscheinlich, da ich noch nicht viel Erfahrung in dem Bereich des Pflanzens habe. Nach und nach habe ich jedoch das Prinzip verstanden. Die Anleitung hat mir dabei sehr geholfen, da sie alles gut erklrt.
Ein wichtiger Punkt ist, dass man das Gert nicht in der Nhe eines Fernsehers oder sonstiges stellen soll. Es ist zwar nicht zu laut, jedoch sind sie zusammen mit den Lichtern doch schon ein wenig nervig. Der Platz sollte also weise gewhlt werden.
Insgesamt finde ich das Set fr mich gut geeignet, jedoch kann ich auch sehen, dass es fr einige zu viel ist. Ich bin zufrieden und alles funktioniert einwandfrei, also vergebe ich 5 Sterne.
I have around a dozen of these mini indoor hydroponic gardens and this one is the barebones model. It has a single button on the top and the button cycles through 3 settings. The settings only toggle the amount of time the light stays on each day. Once you choose the setting it will come at that same time everyday moving forward. It has options for 12, 14 or 16 hours on. However there is no separate setting for the air pump or the brightness of the light or a setting for seedlings versus veggies versus flowers. So while I do think the set is very complete and you will have everything you need it isn’t a high end set. The set is only 69 dollars so that is pretty fair for the lack of features and I think you will be pleased if you are looking for a really basic set up.
I’m really impressed with the hydroponic system and after a good read of the instructions, which were relatively straightforward and easy to understand I started. Everything is included apart from your choice of seeds; I’m planning on tomatoes and chillies.
Although, it is worth noting that there is no heating, so don’t pop it on a cold window ledge.
This seems to be a well-made, good-quality system with three different timer modes, lights that can be adjusted for when your plants start to grow and an easy-to-use reservoir for water and plant feed.
Sadly, the obvious negative right now is that it will use electricity for a lot of the day. Admittedly not tons but still worth considering. So perhaps not a great present for someone not turning on the heating right now.
To finalise, a fun compact way of growing inside in the winter and would make a good present for any budding gardener at a reasonable Prime price of 59.99.
This is such a fun way of being able to grow your own produce inside. It’s also a great way for my son to learn and watch the plants grow as well.
The kit all looks fairly simple to put together. The kit comes with everything you need except the seeds so I need to go out and get some. I’m thinking of trying some lettuce first and then maybe baby tomatoes. The fab thing is you don’t have to wait for something to be in season to grow it, you can grow what you want at any time of the year.
The only downside is that it is rather big and will be up on the side in the kitchen for a long time. Fine if you have a bigger house with lots of space.
I’ve done some maths on this as no point trying to be sufficient when the supermarket is cheaper so here it is.
I’ve worked out the led and pump to cost 9p per day on a 14 hour on 10 hour off cycle at current 2022 prices for electricity. Water can’t be quantified it’s too little but 1 litre over a 27 day cycle let’s say another 5p at the most. 2.48 for 12 lettuce works out at 21p per lettuce over the 3 weeks to edible. Now that is not bad. I was lucky I already had seeds so the only other outlay was this item. Based on savings in theory, it should make back its cost in year 1. The trick is here is that it should last a year or two so long as I clean and maintain. The pump is whisper quiet and is in fact in my bedroom. I sleep soundly when it makes a light hum every 25 mins for 5 mins.
I’m also forgetting the joy which to me, is priceless. I’ve wanted to grow my own for a while now and unsuccessfully grew outside in summer. This is so low maintenance I can go away for days and it’s all taken care of with it’s built in system.
Overall guys it’s what you make it. I’m really pleased that not only that it works but I get to make myself a little more self sustaining and eating naturally all year round for little cost. Ok so it won’t feed me entirely, but lunch isn’t bad and the possibilities are endless.

We’ve been fascinated by hydroponics for a number of years and have wanted one of these kits, so were eager to test it out.
First impressions were favourable. Apart from seeds, this kit has everything you need to get growing. The base unit does feel quite flimsy and made from thin, brittle plastic, but as it will be indoors and won’t get disturbed too much, this didn’t seem much of an issue.
The instructions started well – written in good English and attractively presented. However, we soon found them to be a bit like flat-pack furniture directions. They assumed a lot of prior knowledge, so if you literally followed them to the word, we’d probably not have actually planted anything yet. To a seasoned grower the instructions will probably be fine, but for us, it took us an embarrassing full hour to get things finally set up. And even then, we relied on some guess work. We can see now that they are probably ok, but with zero knowledge ourselves, and an enthusiastic desire to succeed with our growing, we wanted to get things right.
We were a bit surprised and disappointed to discover how basic the timing for the light going on and off is. You have very little control because basically, the time you initially set it up, determines the time the lights then come on and go off each day. In other words, there are no timer settings for start and stop time.
We were also surprised to find no ‘quick guide’ or any tips that might lead to growing success. For example, although there are three settings (12 hours lights on, 12 hours off; 14 hours on, 10 off etc) there is no information about why one is better than the other or what plants or conditions might benefit from which. Neither are you told how close or far away to elevate the lights. All basic stuff the beginner needs to know.
On the first night we’d set this up, we had a power cut. We soon learned that this kit doesn’t keep any settings, so it reverted back to the default, and we had to re-establish the times the following day.
The listing suggests the water pump is silent. It has about the same noise level as a fish tank pump. The company that creates such a Silent thing will be rich and famous. Alas this is not ‘silent’ but it is pretty quiet, we were impressed. It is also straightforward to fill the water tank, which has a clear indicator on the side so you can keep levels topped up.
Manufacturer photos indicate you can grow different plants together, so we tried two each of the following:
basil
parsley
lemon balm
thyme
and four for cos lettuce.
A few days after sowing seeds, we started to see signs of life. It’s at this point you’re instructed to add the plant food. Diluting the feed is explained clearly on the bottles and simple to do. For us, one of the bottles took a solid five minutes of shaking to fully dilute the crystals. No biggie, but worth noting if you’re setting this up with a young child or someone who has hand / wrist issues.
A couple of weeks later, everything but the Lemon balm was growing well. (We’ve since concluded the lemon balm were duff seeds, so this is nothing to do with the hydroponics kit).
The feed is meant to be added every two weeks, and there is enough supplied with the kit for about 12 weeks growth. We’re hoping to be harvesting our crop long before then. After that, there will be an ongoing cost.
We put an electricity monitor on the kit and found that at the current price of 34p per kWh, the unit consumed 50p electricity per week. So, it’s very economical, but you’ll want to take this into account. Depending on what you grow, will determine whether the cost of this, plus the plant food is sustainable for you. If you think a lettuce costs between 50p-90p to buy, but say a herb plant costs 1.50, but should keep going in the hydroponics kit, – whereas if you buy a ‘growing herb’ from a supermarket, they can be a bit of a struggle to keep alive.
Overall, it depends on what you want this kit for. If it’s for the fun of growing your own food, then it’s a great idea. If you want to have a fresh supply of herbs throughout the winter, then we think this will work well. Apart from thyme, sage and rosemary, most herbs die off through the colder months, so this will supply fresh garnishes for your meals. If you’re looking to save money by growing your own food, then you’ll want to plan what you grow in order to actually save anything — choose things you know you’ll eat and are perhaps a bit pricier to buy. The pictures sent with this kit obviously show lush, rich, packed growth, but we doubt that is the reality (we’ll update this review with photos in a few weeks’ time).
Overall the kit has good and bad points:
GOOD
It’s fun to use and watch things grow
It’s relatively quiet operation
Power consumption is minimal (although needs to be considered during the energy crisis)
The water does not evaporate quickly, so it’s minimal fuss once you’ve set it all up
NOT SO GOOD
The control you have over lighting is minimal — it turns itself off and on depending on which time you originally set it up
Instructions are too sparse
No grow tips — when you set this up, you’re aiming for success, so it would be good if the manufacturer helped you
No reminder to add the food — you’ll need to put a note in your diary or send yourself a reminder
Could do with a pair of tweezers to get the seeds into the tiny growing holes.
Couple of silly, superfluous things in the kit such as massive plant labels which are far too big compared to the kit and stickers (we still don’t know what these are for). We’d prefer more food and a tiny set of tweezers

Growing plants hydroponically is a very efficient way to produce them. This kit includes everything you need to get started with this type of ‘gardening’ There is a reservoir which holds 3l of water, and nutrients, a set of pots and some growing medium. There is also a set of grow lights above which provide the necessary illumination to achieve plants growth, the height of the lights above the plants can be adjusted to keep it at the optimum distance. The only thing it doesn’t have is any form of heating, so it does need to be located somewhere where the ambient temperature is sufficient to promote seed germination.
I like that there are preset programs for the lights which can be set to come on for 10, 12 or 14 hours each day, to simulate different day lengths.
The pump is pretty quiet and seems to circulate the water efficiently. It would have been nice if there had been a few more growing medium blocks provided, there are only enough for two plantings, it would also be nice if the company sold the extra blocks and bottles of nutrient solution, as it is I have to guess which would be best from the wide choice available on Amazon.
The only other comment I would make is that it does seem a bit expensive, the cost at the time of writing is 75.99, which seems like quite a lot of money. It is only justifiable as a hobby purchase as there is no way it would pay for itself in improved crops etc. It is far too small to justify itself that way. Of course the other issue at the moment with the energy cost and cost of living issues is that it does use electricity to run, are the benefits it gives enough to offset the extra energy costs? That is a question that each persona/household must decide. For me the answer is that I can’t justify the cost for growing herbs during the winter, but it will definitely be used to get tomato plants going next spring, and probably some plants for our hanging baskets and planters.
I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile now, and I was so excited to get it. The reason for four stars instead of five is because the instructions are not very well written. It is easy enough to figure out on your own, but I wanted to make sure to do it correctly and the instructions don’t really give that clarification.
Anyway, I definitely recommend especially for those who can’t grow outside in the winter. I can’t wait to see my crops grow inside!
This is a hydroponic system. It was very easy to set up. Fill up the feed bottles with water fill up the tank via the filling space and add the correct amount of food A and food B. Put the holders and seed pods into the holes and add a seed to each pod. Put the domes over the top lower the lid, plug it in and press the button and then wait. Add feed every 2 weeks and water as required. The first growth was visible after 6 days and more seem to be appearing daily. The lid can be raised as the plant grow. Very easy to set up and it works as expected. My first attempt at hydroponics and I was surprised at how easy and efffective it is with this system. Highly recommended.
A water bath with pump, nutrients, twelve individual propagators in a holder and a timer function offering three 24 hour cycles to create false days. Everything looks well made and I shall be using this for early propagation of next year’s tomatoes, but you don’t actually get much for your money. It feels about 40-50% overpriced and in any terms it would be a very expensive way to propagate lettuce or herbs but for early high value crops it looks ideal.
Not being the most green fingered person in the Family I thought I would give this a go.
I love using Herbs in cooking so have bought a few packets of seeds to try in this along with some cherry tomatoes as they will be the perfect size for this unit.
I Was surprised at how light the unit was …. But once filled with water this gets heavier so best placed where it will stay before filling . Mine is sat on a table in the corner of the Kitchen ….. & I Look in awe at the little shoots starting to grow … It reminds me of growing Mustard & Cress on Kitchen towel at school in the early 1970’s
It was easy to set up even for me so give it a try & enjoy the “Fruits” of your Labour

I’m terrible at trying to grow herbs. They never last. Always wanted some form of hydroponics to assist me in this.
* The kit comes with everything you need for a starter set and is perfect for anyone who wants something that does everything well enough.
* It’s compact enough to not take up too much room and has enough space within, to host several small plants / germinate several to get going.
* The user manual explains in detail how to best use and care for the device, along with what you’re attempting to grow.
The only downfall with any hydroponics system like this, is that it requires electricity to do what it does best. No way around it.
As this uses LED’s instead of traditional bulbs, it’s a lot more energy efficient. But, in today’s energy crisis, everything that consumes even the smallest amount of energy adds to the ever-increasing bills.
So if you really want to grow during these winter months and can afford to add another energy-consuming device to your bills, then this will do perfectly.
I an definitely no gardener but have found this home growing system to be a wonderful system that is exciting to use for all. Arrived well packed with good easy to understand instructions. Set up so easy to as the system really arrives already assembled.
Once set up it did not take up as much space as I had expected good that..
This hydroponic growing system includes baskets, pods, lids, the plant food,power cord and bowl. To complete the set up I added the pods to baskets and then put these into the holes in the lid. Next steps are to pour in water, food, seeds. Switch on timer for recommend time and then switch on.
So easy…all the family can use.

This at home hydroponics growing set is fantastic and I’m so impressed with how easy it is to set up. It took only a few minutes and I can’t wait to start growing my veg in it. I’m impressed with the huge capacity of the water tank being 4L and it’s a fantastic size. The visual window is handy and helpful and I like that its easy for me to use. I think the lights work wonderfully and I’m pleased that the rod for it is extendable so I can adjust it as the plants grow. The different light settings are very cool and the growing modes are fab too. I think it’s a very well made bit of kit because it’s very strong, sturdy and durable and will withstand a lot of use and will last me a long time. I think the value for money is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending it! It gets a huge green thumbs up from me!

Qualitt:
Wer Pflanzen unabhngig vom Wetter aufziehen mchte, bentigt so ein Aufzuchtkasten. Hier lassen sich bis zu 12 verschiedene Pflanzen mit Hilfe vom richtigen Licht , Wasser und der richtigen Temperatur anziehen. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Art selbsbewssernden Blumentopf der mit Hilfe einer Pumpe das Wasser zustzlich noch in gewissen abstnden mit Sauerstoff anreichert. Das hhenverstellbarem Lichtdach sorgt gleichzeitig fr das richtige Licht in aussreichender Dauer, das die Pflanzen zum wachsen bentigen. Der Aufstellungsort ist deshalb frei whlbar. Lediglich eine Steckdose muss in der nhe sein, da die LEDs und die Pumpe Strom bentigen.
Wie das Anzchten von Pflanzen genau funktioniert ist in der beiliegenden Anleitung ausfhrlich erklrt. Ich kann hier vorwegnehmen, das es kinderleicht ist und man mit diesem Set quasi dabei zusehen kann, wie die pflanzen wachsen. Es funktioniert einwandfrei.
Zum Schluss sein noch gesagt, das der Stromverbrauch nicht unerheblich ist, da die Lampe gern 12-16 Stunden am Tag leuchten muss. Dafr kann man aber bis zu 12 Pflanzen gleichzeitig anzchten. Wer jedoch nur Salat anzchten mchte, wird mit dem kauf im Supermarkt wahrscheinlich gnstiger dran, da ja auch dieses Set nicht wirklich gnstig ist.
Positiv:
-Sehr gutes und durchdachtes Set.
-2 Dnger inklusive.
-Sehr gute Qualitt.

Wer solch ein Set unbedingt braucht, der kann hier definitiv zuschlagen. Hier erhlt man sehr gute Qualitt in einem gut durchdachten Set. Lediglich die Samen muss man hier selbst bereit haben. Von mir gibt es hier volle 5 Sterne und eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

I love this. It arrived well packed and is perfect for growing herbs. It has A 4 litre water tank and I can grow 12 plant at a time which is fantastic. It also has a light and timer. Recommended
In recent years especially during the pandemic and lockdown I started to take some interest in growing a few herbs/vegetables in the garden such as potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, spinach, garlic and coriander and enjoyed the process so carried on doing that in the last two summers.
I didn’t really think about growing anything during the winter months as that wasn’t an option until I came across this Hydroponics Growing System which I was so excited to start using.
Included in the box are: 1pc Hydroponics Growing System, 12pcs Grow Baskets, 12pcs Grow Domes, 24pcs Grow Sponges, 12pcs Tag, 12pcs Stickers, 2pcs Plant Food, Power Adapter and User Manual.
Straight out of the box you can see and feel that it good quality and durable so if looked after properly it should last for many years.
Getting it set up and started was pretty straightforward as there are clear steps to follow. You just have to put the sponge baskets in together with your seeds (I’m doing plum tomatoes, coriander and lettuce) into the little holes and then cover them with the domes and add water to the tank and switch it on and you’re good to go.
There are 3 grow timer modes 12, 14 and 16 hours so you can set the timer on your preferred setting, it has a memory function too which saves you having to reset it every day plus you van adjust the height to as your plant grows.
It’s not overly big and doesn’t take up too much room. We have it sitting on our kitchen counter and the kids love looking at the progress every day.
At the current price of 79.99 I feel you are paying for the quality of this gadget and it’s reasonably priced.
I also think this would be a great gift idea for a loved one who loves to grow their own produce and with Christmas just around the corner its the perfect time.
I am no gardener but even I have had a good time with this. The setup was pretty easy because the complicated bit had already been done so the electrics were already in place including the pump and the lighting system. The sponge basket and sponges had to be unpacked and put into the deck. The Grow domes were unpacked and ready to be put over the sponged once planting had been done. Four litres of water needed to be added to the tank. The two nutrient bottles had to be mixed up and then the exact measure was added to the water. Then I got a bit stuck because the instructions did not tell you what precisely to do with the seeds. A bit of research indicates that small seeds are put down the hole and they stick to the sides in the middle of the sponge and larger ones on the surface. You would not want them to go directly into the water of course. Whether this is correct remains to be seen. I have planted chilies, herbs, and cherry tomatoes so I am now waiting to see what comes up. I have to say as a nongardener I am absolutely hooked on this so far and looking forward to harvesting some produce to add to my cooking.

Will man nicht nur im Sommer wenn die Sonne drauen scheint und fr Wrme und Energie sorgt seine Vitamin- und Geschmackslieferanten aufziehen, sondern auch zur Winterzeit im Hause seine Plantage betreiben, braucht es Nhrstoffe und optimale Bedingungen.
Diese Wasserschale mit fest montiertem aber hhenverstellbarem Lichtdach ist etwas ber 38cm breit und 18cm tief, so dass sie bei uns problemlos auch auf die Kchenfensterbank passt. Aber dank der integrierten, wirklich hellen Beleuchtung kann man das Teil auch irgendwo sonst im Haus platzieren, wo man eine Steckdose in der Nhe hat.
Die Wanne wird mit ca. vier Liter klarem Leitungswasser gefllt (kein Brunnenwasser, damit die integrierte Pumpe nicht verdreckt); eine Wassersstandsanzeige auen hilft einem dabei, auch falls nach Verdunstung nachgefllt werden muss, dafr gibt es eine kleine ffnung im Deckel.
Das Wasser muss mit einer Nhrlsung in bestimmten Rhythmen angereichert werden. Dazu sind zwei verschiedene Dnger in fester Form beigefgt: Die Flaschen mssen vor dem Gebrauch mit Wasser aufgefllt und der Dnger aufgelst werden. Das dem Wasser zuzufhrende Mischungsverhltnis ergibt sich aus der Wassermenge und Anzahl aufzuziehender Pflanzen.
Die Pflanzkegel sind aus gepressten Kokosfasern, die mit Samen bestckt werden mssen. Sie werden in die kegelfrmigen Plastik-Gitter eingesetzt und diese dann in die ffnungen des weien Deckels eingehngt.
Nach der Gefllung mit Wasser quellen die Kokoskegel auf und befeuchten die Samen, die man sich selber organisieren muss (wir hatten auch schon mal ein Set, bei dem die Samen mitgekommen waren). Wir empfehlen kleinere Salate (Pflck- oder Eichblattsalat, Phia o.. )und Kruter (Basilikum u.a.).
Damit der frisch eingesetzte Samen gerade zu Beginn feucht bleibt, sind durchsichtige Abdeckhauben dabei, die man ber die Kegel stlpt und die das Verdunsten reduzieren.
Zum Erhalt der Wasserqualitt reichert ein integrierter Versprudler das Wasser mit Sauerstoff an und sorgt so fr ein gutes Wasserklima. Die Pumpe luft ohnehin nur fnf Minuten pro halbe Stunde und ist dann auch sehr leise; unser Khlschrank ist lauter.
Oben auf dem Deckel ist der Schalter fr die Programmwahl: Das Licht (und damit die Pumpe) kann auf 12, 14 oder 16 Stunden pro Tag eingestellt werden, beginnend mit dem Zeitpunkt der Programmierung. Unter dem Deckel befinden sich die zahlreichen LEDs als Pflanzenlicht; dieser Deckel ist an einer stabilen Teleskopsule befestigt, so dass es von wenigen Zentimetern bis zu 30 cm Pflanzenhhe optimal eingestellt werden kann.
Das Licht ist berwiegend strahlend helles und kaltes Wei und strt in unserer Kche mehr als die Gerusche der Pumpe.
Ebenfalls im Set ist eine Anzahl von Pflanzenschildern, die aber aufgrund ihrer Gre vllig ungeeignet fr die kleinen Tpfchen sind, vor allem in der Anzuchtphase mit den transparenten Deckeln. Wir haben stattdessen klassisches Tesafilm zur Beschriftung benutzt.
Auf den ersten Blick wirkt das nach viel Plastik und Technik. Auerdem ist der Stromverbrauch nicht unerheblich. Viel Aufwand fr ein bisschen selbstgezogenen Eichblattsalat und Basilikum; aus wirtschaftlichen Grnden msste man ihn sich eher im Supermarkt kaufen — aber das macht nicht soviel Spa! Und was tut man nicht alles, um ganzjhrig seinen sprichwrtlichen Grnen Daumen zu befriedigen!

I’ve just started delving into growing my own vegetables so when I saw this I couldn’t turn it down! Such a great little gadget and it doesn’t take up too much room, sits beautifully and looks great in my kitchen without looking like an eye sore! Great overall quality of the product and it seems pretty durable thus far!
This was so easy to set up you literally take this hydroponic growing system out of the box remove the baskets, pods, lids, the plant food and the power cord from the bowl and then follow the 4 easy steps. Which is basically is add the pods to baskets put these into the holes in the lid then add water and plant food and then switch on. Now the fun begins I just add the seeds into the pods which for me is tomato seed and it’s the small tomato variety and also the lettuce variety and it’s the one you pick and then they grow again and after I have added the seed to the pods you just put the lids on and then set the timer for the lights to come on and turn off. So as you can see it’s ridiculously so easy and I shall now just wait in anticipation for my indoor all year round salad supply to start to grow
This hydroponic system is well made with three different timer modes on the top of the light which are easy to see. The height of the light can be adjusted as the plants grow. There is a water gauge on the front of the reservoir and it is easy to add the water/plant food through a large water inlet that has a cover. There are little plastic cone shaped holders for the growing medium to fit into and some labels for your different seeds
The reservoir has a smooth finish and it comes with a very clear instruction leaflet for getting started.
Last spring my seeding took a long time to germinate so I am looking forward to starting my tomatoes, peppers and hanging basket plants in this system. It will also give me the ability to have an indoor garden through the winter.

I recently reviewed another system with 6 pods and the only reason I gave this 4 over the 3 stars is the waterline and accessories in this one. This model give you plant food and a lot more accessories that you probably need but they are good for propagation with a couple of downsides. #1 downside is the timer. Read below about what is needed to run these types of units at times you want and pray the power does not go off. Messing with light cycles with some plants can cause negative outcomes. For 30-40 dollars more you could get a low end Aerogarden with more functionality.
I am a DIY for cheap kind of buyer but wanted a nice looking system for in my living area. I have built many of these types of units and all I can say it has going for it is it looks good and has some extras you may like. It functions OK but nothing to be crazy about. Timer is not adjustable so you will have to be in the room the exact minute you want to have the light cycle to come on. So if you want the 18 hour light cycle to start at 5am then get up at 5am. This thing is bright so I want to have it come on at 6am and run all day for 18 hours. Even if you use a smart timer outlet you will have to manually turn it on every day. If the power goes out you will have to reset it at your start time every time.
I am not sure why these companies cant put a clock timer on these things for little or no money. It would be a big win for someone to do it though
