My son, who is 7, has struggled to feel comfortable on his skates as he tends to be nervous of hurting himself, but with these on, he has had the confidence to really give skating a try.
The pads themselves are nice and squashy on the foam bits, with wide Velcro straps that mean the pads hold on well. My little boy had slightly red skin after using these for the first time, but I think that was more to do with him having done the straps up too tightly – he hasn’t had that again and is never in a rush to take the pads off. The plastic part of the pads seems nice and tough, he has had a couple of tumbles and hasn’t hurt himself.
Price-wise, these are currently on at 13.99 for the set, which I think is reasonable for such good quality, comfortable pads, and I would definitely recommend.
This is a great set of protective gear. Purchased these for my 5yo son who is now confident enough on his scooter and bike to attempt going as fast as he can. These fit well with 2 straps on each guard. The straps are full adjustable and they have elastic too so my son does not find them uncomfortable. He only wears these for about 30-45 mins at a time. The plastic guard seems tough enough to absorb the impacts you would expect little ones to potentially endure. They come in a handy little bag which is perfect for storing them away in a care without having to search for any missing pads when you need them most. Great set!
This is a set of what we used to call skateboard pads for a 3-8-year-old child.
There are 6 pieces, two each of knee and elbow protectors and two wrist (Palm) guards.
All 6 pieces have a foam and hard plastic element to make them comfortable to wear and better able to cushion a crash, all parts have an adjustable Velcro strap, so they all fit a wide range of ages.
They are perfect for reducing the risk of learning any new skill where falling down is likely.
Skateboards, skates, bicycles and scooters all can lead to a nasty fall and these could save you a whole afternoon in the local hospital or even a screaming child in pain, they look like a bargain now dont they!
Personally, I would get these and make sure they fit before I even entertained which skateboard, scooter or even bike to buy! Better safe than sorry!
Happy to help.
My kid recently started skateboarding however we immediately realised that protective gear is much needed to keep them safe. We found the Kuyou kids’ knee, elbow pads and wrist guards which is a complete set for full protection. The quality is good, and they are true to their size.
Finally, they are comfortable as my son doesn’t have any complaints and it does the job!
My 7-year-old loves to be outside on his skateboard or scooter and like most little ones he’s often falling off and grazing a knee. He had a set of protective pads like this before and they were really good, unfortunately, after a couple of years, the straps perished so this new set is the perfect replacement!
You get 2x knee pads, 2x elbow pads & 2x wrist pads and they come nicely packaged in a drawstring bag. They are only small so will be easy to store and won’t take up much room. I shall store these indoors as I think keeping our last set in the shed might be why they perished.
The padding is very good on these and the velcro sticks well. They do take a while to put them all on and it can be a bit annoying if your child is like my son and wants to do something different every five minutes so wants to take the pads on and off all the time
The straps are adjustable elastic so will fit a good age range. They are advertised as fitting ages 3-8, I’d agree with this.
Priced at just 13.99, I think this is very reasonable for this set!
The material felt a bit thin, but actually it does provide a good level of protection. My niece does not skateboard fast so her falls were not hard, but these pads did protect her knees, wrists and elbows. She also sweats a lot, and the breathable material did help her. I do not think the thickness affects the level of protection, more important is the material used.
There are other sets that are much cheaper but I don’t know how the quality varies. They look very similar.
The wrist pads have a different material for the solid part. They look more sturdy than the knee and elbow pads.
It would be good if there were pictures along with the instructions, to help when putting these on. Rather than having to go on the Internet to look.
Good quality protective kit. Bought it for my son 7 years old son who is learning cycling. As he is prone to falling so thought it will be extra protection. They are well built; definitely protects. Velcro strips works but could be stronger. You also get bag with it, which is good for storage purpose. Overall 4 stars.
brilliant fit, comfortable, and hard wearing, great for the little skater in my house,
he loves em and they match his helmet too….
great item…
Perfect set for any skateboard loving child protect all areas And provide good support they are easy to put on and take off no stress .
I got these as replacements for my 8-year-old nephew who has outgrown his old protective gear.
These came in a nice little drawstring kit bag. Inside you get 3 sets of pads for the knees, elbows, and wrists. All the pads are well constructed, they are solid yet well padded.
They fit my nephew well and he says that they are very comfortable to wear.
For 13.99 (at the time of reviewing) these are great value for money and would highly recommend them.
Good set off safety pads. Lightweight, blue breathable material. Not sure what the padding is made from. Easy to put on. The wrist cuffs have a plastic strip to give extra support. Velcro could be stronger and longer. My grandson is 6 and they only just fit but he is happy with them. Great little bag to keep them in.
My son is learning to ride a full size skateboard. This set of elbow and knee pads, along side a helmet have meant my son is a lot more confident at trying to ride is skateboard. He says they are easy to put on, sturdy and comfortable
This set is essentially what you think it would be. It does a job and is worn by my 10 year old whilst being “totally rad” on his new skateboard.
You receive some knee, wrist and elbow pads which will hopefully stop a few tears when the inevitable occurs. They don’t seem to slip easily and are adjustable using the Velcro strips.
The items appear well made, they do their job and my 10 year old wears them under baggy clothing whilst trying to (unsuccessfully) master his new “sick” skateboard.
I’m pleased with the items – if they stop him hurting himself then they are totally worth the money.
These came in a nice little drawstring kit bag (although ruined by a huge label sticking out the side – that will have to go!).
There are 3 sets of pads for the knees, elbows, and wrists and they are well constructed and solid. Got my 8 year old grandson to try and he says they were comfortable, and they fit well. He even threw himself on the ground enthusiastically (heh kids!) to give the thumbs up that the padding appeared to give him good protection and cushioned his fall.
For the price I think these are excellent value, and are worth getting if your young kids need padded gear while they are out on their scooters or skateboards. Impressed with these, they look to be a good buy.
My fault I completely misread the sizing guide so this is too small for my 11 year old so I’ve given to my 7 year old nephew and they fit okay.
All packs away I a neat little bag.
Easy to put on and will provide some protection for low impact activities.
Got my son a skateboard so needed some pads to protect him in case of any falls and these have been great. Easy to fit, stretchy and comfortable once on. The plastic on the pads isn’t super hard so it’s not the most protective, but its enough to protect against any falls and grazes. Most kits only give you knees and elbow pads, I like that you get hand protectors with this because putting your hands out is the first thing you do when falling and it can be quite painful ! Overall a very good set for the price, would recommend.
Great value safety set that is very adjustable so will fit almost all kids no problem. The construction is well made and will last many years of accidents. The inside has a nice cushioning to make wearing them as comfortable as can be.
So far tested on the bike, skateboard and scooter.
Overall a great product that can be used for many activities and potentially a life saver.
This set of pads is both soft and comfortable to wear, allowing flex in the knee, elbow and wrist joints, but at the same time providing protection. They’re well padded next to the skin; no rubbing. They’re lightweight and don’t look or feel bulky. Very competitive in price. Mist kids are happy to wear protective gear and the cost of these is much less than a trip to A and E for treatment after a fall. Great protective gear and nicely stowed in a drawscarry bag. Cant fault them.
Much more comfortable than others we have tried, the extra padding really makes these so much nicer to wear for the kids. They fit my soon to be 6yo perfectly and the velcro makes it easy to adjust for sizing.
These are super comfy knee pads with very generous padding – Ideal for pre school kids. The extra padding does make then a little less secure, but for kids of this age that is not so much of a problem. The are light and comfortable enough to be worn for a good period of time. Prefect for adventurous but slightly clumsy kids.
