This is the second torch from this brand , the first I bought about 10 months ago and has proved to be very good so bought a diferent model this time as I needed a second torch.
Very bright and excellent for lighting up areas when out walking in the Winter months. Put it to use almost straight away when i needed to get behind the washing machine, this torch made it like daylight. Not had it too long and observations would be that it does appear to be quite well made. I did notice however that when i charged it the charge indicator lights never got past 3/4 full. This may change with use i guess but seemed to be that it either could not charge past the 3/4 mark or the battery charging indicator was faulty. Not bothered about an indicator anyway. All round a good torch for the money.
Very bright light and long distance beam. Feels very solid and well made, really pleased with the product. I noticed that a keyring torch was supposed to be included but missing from case. I honestly recommend this 100% for the price.
The light emitted is really excellent for this size of torch, but the battery life of this torch (after a few months since purchase) is limited to 3 to 4 hours of use. This means that for a search and rescue mission one evening, this product is not sufficient.
Edit
Managed to contact seller, they are sending replacement, all sorted
Great light with a powerful bright light. Compact and seems well made. The issue is that you have to press the light 3times through the flashing light and sos to switch it off. I’m sure this could be changed. The it would be 5 stars.
Stand it upright, pointing at the ceiling, and it will illuminate any room as good as a ceiling light. Battery life seems fine, although I’ve not exhausted it yet so cannot say how long it will last. But I’ve used it to work in a room without power for a couple of hours without going below 50% charge. So I suspect it will last a long time.
This torch claims 15,000 lumens, and I can say it is at least that. I’ve just bought another different make claiming to have 100,000 lumens but it is not as bright as this LumiTact.
In conclusion, I can definitely recommend.
I have no vested interests with this product or the company and do not benefit from any sales. I give this review because its a product worthy of such praise.
This torch is awesome. Very bright with a spotlight and floodlight mode. You have to pull the neck of the torch out to go into spotlight mode which might be difficult for some as it’s quite stiff. I went on my local beach at night with the torch and lit up everyone on the beach, and they thought I was the cops lol.
I guess if you are going to have this torch on full brightness for 30 odd mins etc, then the battery will start to drain quickly.
You can dim the brightness of course so the battery will last longer (I’ve been using the re-chargeable one). The blue LED lights are helpful for seeing the battery strength.
I recommend this torch.
The torch appears and feels to be well made, with positive feel button/switch, lens slider, machined body and end cap.
At wide beam light coverage is good (with a fully charged battery). However on narrow beam the light becomes a square beam which wasn’t really expected. Also at narrow beam the light doesn’t illuminate objects more than 300m away very well. Also I noticed the parts around the led seem to get quite hot fairly quickly.
It’s not a bad torch and excellent value for the money but not as powerful as I was expecting given the high lumens quoted in the product listing.
It’s very powerful for the money and I love the way the LEDs show when the battery is running out.
Because it’s such a large battery, the flashlight is pretty weighty and it takes a while to charge – expect it to be charging for most of the day when the battery finally dies.
That’s another positive, you can charge directly from the unit itself, so no need for an external charger. If you have one great, maybe it’ll speed up the charging time, but I’ve not used one myself to confirm that.
One other really important thing, the support these guys give is amazing. 10 months into owning it, the battery metre was showing full even as the battery was running out. I got onto the support team and they very quickly shipped me a replacement. Can’t fault that sort of commitment. Thanks guys.
So, all-in-all, I can definitely recommend the flashlight for anyone wanting a bright torch with and amazing customer care service.
So far so good. I have using this torch on my patrol duty for a while now and happy with my purchase.
Good and sturdy torch, charge lasts forever so no need to be constantly charging it.
Arrived on time, does what says on the tin, good quality torch.
This item was stunning with it’s light but with the other features well worth the money.
Husband loves it, very bright!
Excellent torch, definitely buy it.
This is an extremely bright torch with a number of different modes , the width of light is really good , would highly recommend
This is very important!, please take notice of the message from the seller and the instructions before using.
This torch is extremely bright and will damage if shinned in other people’s eyes, The cob light square also gets very warm when being used.
It’s probably the best torch I’ve ever brought! Definitely worth the money. I am going to buy another to put away for the future.
It comes with a holder, case and strap and can be rechargeable or runs of triple aaa’s too.
I charged it up and left it to drain and it ran for about two hours. It maintained its brightness pretty much until it went flat. With the regular battery back up option in the form of a simple double AA cylinder, you’re good to go if the rechargeable unit goes flat.
Also comes in a very secure case.
This would suit all users, hunters foxing, house owners covering emergencies, sailors spotting buoys, campers and caravanners doing the late night dog walk, and preppers alike. It’s going in the tool box. Can’t fault it. Hope that helps.
Looks like a quality item, super bright and good option of rechargeable battery or regular batteries
Love camping and hiking found this for 30 took a chance was not disappointed brightness on flashlight is amazing with variable zoom.
Battery life seems Good enough as I have not Ran out of battery life but also includes spare battery supply incase of EMERGENCYS which is amazing Alternative modes also work Great and durability is Top of the line Would Recommend 100% if your like me and love Camping/hiking
It’s not cheap. But I’m fed up with torches half this price failing in a short time. We live in the middle of nowhere with no light other than the moon. So torches are important to us – for security as much as walking the dogs in the forest.
This is the brightest torch I’ve had (and we’ve had more than a few!). What’s more, it feels as sturdy as Tank. It’s reassuringly heavy and feels like it’s going to outlive me.
We’ve only had it for 4 weeks but it’s the one we search for when stepping outside the front door.
What would make it even better is if we could remember to return it to its place by the front door! It’s funny how we use lesser torches to help us find where we put this one.
Unbelievable brightness, very good torch and real value for money…
great tool for working on the railway, also you can charge your phone with it while on track.
You want be disappointed, just make sure you remover the plastic film from around the battery
Battery life very good bonus you can use it to charge over things
It is early days yet to really evaluate this. It is quite heavy and has a bright light on full. TOOK ABOUT 2 DAYS TO CHARGE. The rubber cover off the charger port comes off and can not be replaced.
But as other torches go I am happy at present with torch. It is good it can be charged with a C type lead without having to remove battery. Price is a little expensive but as I said so far so good.
Great torch with bright light. Power button could be situated in a better place to stop it being turned on in your pocke
Very powerful beam and long lasting battery. Really liked the battery being rechargeable. My only minor gripe is the fact that you have to go through 5 settings to go from full beam to off.
Very bright, with multi function light. Bonus is that it’s usb rechargeable. All in a very secure case to keep it protected when not in use.
It was a present but my husband seems very happy with i
Amazing. Super bright, easy to charge, a little heavy but that’s what I want. Came in a protective case with all the accessories. Perfec
Purchased for my father for Christmas.
He absolutely loves this torch, and is very pleased with the brightness and other light options.
Strongly recommend for a bright but budget friendly torch.
Fantastic torch which you can either recharge or use batteries. Very bright light and has different modes too. Well worth the money.
Sooooo bright and excellent value. Free little key chain light is attached now to the dogs lead, awesome 🙂
Very bright torch with several different light modes
Used in the rain and still going sting
Bought two of these for gifts. Comes in a very handy carry case and we were very impressed with the quality of the product. It’s lightweight and compact with a good range of light. Would buy again and do recommend.
Really is a super bright torch, reached down the back garden no problem, came already charged, bought for xmas present so dont know how long battery charge lasts
Very good torch for late night deliveries when u can’t make out the address in the dark it magnifies the light to the specific poi
brightest compact torch around, absolute essential companion for night walking
Great torch however after a few months I can no longer charge via the torch c connection. Faulty charge point. I have to remove battery to charge
This torch is fantastic value and well worth the money. I made the mistake of thinking that the battery was faulty but there is a thin film of plastic that needs to be removed before use.
Super bright, love it.
Can also charge my phone from it.
For the dark nights this was worth it i got alot people asking where i got it as they said so bright. Long lasting battery life
You will not be disappointed at this price 1st Class Product Liked it so much , bought 2 🙂
Confused initially as the instructions are minimal, but once put together, great torch.
Haven’t used it much yet so can’t be any more elaborate than this. Nicely packed though
I’m impressed with the power of this torch. Easy to use and good battery level indicator. It also came with a holder so you can install normal batteries if required. So far, the original battery is holding charge well. Very impressed with this torch.
Just a quick review to say I am pretty happy with the Torch. It’s small and throws out a lot of light and with all the little extras that come with it including the case, batteries, and personal keyring light. I am very happy to give this rating of 5 stars.
Just as advertised, it’s a great product. Would defo recommend and buy again if needed.
My only issue is that the button is a little temperamental.
Better than expected. Extremely bright and a good range too. Feels like daytime when I turn it on. Hard to believe so much brightness coming out of such a small torch.
Excellent torch for my husband walking the dogs. Unfortunately the rechargeable battery only lasted 10 months before we had to buy a new one.
Battery life is very good and fairly lightweight very pleased with i
I liked this torch from the minute I opened the box. After giving it a quick try with the large battery that came with it, I realised this was a quality item. The light was very bright and too bright to look at. The casing was thick and weighty, and all the functions worked as they should. So, I turned it off and charged the battery fully. My daughter was so impressed with it I had to send for one for her. Overall, I am very pleased with this torch and recommend it. It comes with a good plastic case and all the accessories you need.
This is very bright. Very sceptical about these things and their claim. But this thing really annoys the drivers blasting down our lane at 100mph while I walk with this to my front door. They actually see you and slow down. It has saved me from being a hood ornament on more than one occasion. The beam is like a stage spot light so if you and a friend want to pretend you’re on stage this is a rather fun torch to do that with. I’m not judging you but you could use it for that if you so desire.
This torch is excellent, it is so bright with a lovely white light
The battery life shouldn’t be a problem using the rechargeable battery provided.
Well made, well packaged and very bright torch.
Delivered in a nice plastic case and has a holster made of thick black canvas type material to carry it. Just got it today so cannot comment about battery life.
Battery was sealed in a plastic film, which had to be removed before inserting battery in the torch. The rectangular rubber lid that covers the two recessed USB ports fell out when trying to charge the battery, but I was able to fix it back in place. Don’t know how long it will last though, and if it falls off while being used outdoors, the torch will no longer remain waterproof.
As highlighted, the torch is very bright and has a clean even spread of the beam. The Zoom function works well and unlike cheaper torches, at maximum zoom the beam does not display the outline of the LED chip with dark lines throughout where the electrical connections run through the chip.
The CREE XHP 70.2 LED chip does have a light output of around 9,000 lumens under lab test conditions, but this requires a current of 21 to 24 amps and at this light output the chip is running at a power of over 140 Watts, which generates a lot of heat and needs a big heat-sink.
Getting these operating conditions in a hand-held torch with a Li-ion battery is nearly impossible, therefore while extremely bright, this torch does not appear to be anywhere close to the claimed 10,000 lumens. And as in all CREE LED torches, the light output falls sharply a few minutes after starting, as the temperatures rises and the battery loses power.
The actual output at peak brightness of this torch after a few minutes of operation is probably closer to 2,000 lumens, but this is just a guess, based on a comparison with other torches of this rating.
That is still a very bright beam, so no regrets about the purchase especially as the price was a few pounds cheaper during the recent Black Friday sale. I had anyway not taken the 10,000 lumens claim too seriously when placing my order, so was not disappointed with the actual performance.
I am was dubious about how bright a smallish torch could be , it’s very very bright and lights up a huge area and can be more focused, very impressive piece of ki
I walk in the early hours of the morning and this flashlight is amazing. Brightest I have ever used and great distance in the beam
Wow what can i say great product ideal for our cold nights walking the dog over field and tuff product lets hope it sticks up to reviews .
The fact the battery is rechargable without removing it from the torch is very convenient and negates the need to buy a charger. It comes supplied in a good box which includes a charging lead and a set of AAA batteries and slieve so you have back up if the battery runs flat. I like the fact it displays the battery status so you know how much battery is left. I had a slight problem with my torch on delivery so I don’t cted the seller. They replied immediately and sorted it out to my satisfaction. 5 Stars for the torch and 5 Stars for outstanding customer service. Thank you. Brenda
A great torch but the rechargeable battery didn’t work as supplied. I was about to give it one star when the seller contacted me telling me to remove the plastic wrapper from the battery otherwise it wouldn’t work. Bingo!! This is probably the reason for so many bad reviews!!
Great torch with powerful beam. Comes in a smart black box with hanger with a case to carry the torch in on your belt. Charges quickly but back up batteries supplied. Lights up the whole garden which is great when taking the dogs out. SOS feature in case of accidents and all at a great price.
** Edited to say I added to this review as my fat fingers posted too soon**
It is bright even when zoomed in or not zoomed in.
Charging can be powerbank but recommend from socke
A quick tip, if you hold the power switch for three seconds it will switch off from any mode.
Product is solid built, nice storage box and accessories however brightness could be better and price bit cheape
Excellent for dog walks this time of year when you misjudge how quickly it gets dark now. It’s a solid metal unit so if you don’t blind those muggers you’ve got a decent weapon to defend yourself!!
The case is pretty tough and alright, but a tight fit for the torch, string and carrier to all fit it in. A bit like when you buy something and need to take it back but can’t fit it back in the box like they did in the factory.
You can also pretend you’ve got your own WWII search light waving it in the sky at night on narrow beam – this baby is bright.
It’s so powerful that It almost set fire to itself.
How I ask you say? Well this torch is clearly the most powerful torch I’ve ever owned and I’m hugely impressed by it’s performance, however be warned this thing has a potentially dangerous issue if not handled carefully.
The head of the torch has a clear warning advising that it gets hot. Which is a nice touch but the real area of concern is the switch that operates the torch and it’s multiple useful modes.
The switch is way to easy to accidentally turn on!!!
It’s mounted on the side of the main body rather than on the base which i found out the hard way isn’t great if you wear your torch on a belt.
I sat in my car with my torch on my belt towards one side and went about my business until I noticed a smell of burning coming from somewhere. Thinking it was from outside the car somewhere I wasn’t unduly concerned until the smell turned into smoke inside my car. I pulled over and almost immediately realised it was coming from me, specifically my new torch and could see it had turned itself on without me realising, in doing so it literally burnt a hole in the the flap on the top of the torch pouch. It was literally smoking with the intensity of the light being emitted.
I normally store my belt and all its attachments in a drawer at work at the end of my shift and this got me really worried incase it got knocked whilst in the drawer and turned itself on again, so much so I’ve decided to remove the battery at the end of very shift before storing my belt away to reduce the risk of further inadvertent activation.
This torch is still superb though, all of needs is a slight design change with the switch to avoid any unwanted activations.
First picture is without torch on, the light is from the phone taking the picture. Second picture is with torch on brightest setting, then second setting.
Bought for evening dog walks, this is a great torch. My night vision isn’t great and I was fed up with limited vision and torches that weren’t bright enough.
At 5pm in the winter in can be very dark, yet this torch can easily light up a field, even on its lower settings, and it’s definitely one of the brightest torches amongst our group of dog walkers.
Similarly it lights up our whole garden which is great for keeping an eye on our black dog at night.
The battery life is good and there are four blue lights which indicate how much battery is left. You rarely need to use the torch on its full setting and this helps with battery life.
The torch has a bit of weight, this isn’t a negative, it just feels like a robustly made torch.
The mini keyring that comes with it also great, really simple to use and again produces a massive amount of light.
Would definitely recommend
1 – The button is on the side and if you wear the torch in a holster on a belt it will easily and consistently turn itself on which is annoying and will drain the battery. This means I tend to leave it in my kitbag in the car which completely defeats the purpose of why I bought this torch in the first place.
2 – I may be wrong but I believe the torch has maybe 4 or 5 different settings and to switch the torch off you have to click through each of these settings which just feels ridiculous if you want to get anything done quickly and people will comment on the strobe effects when you are trying to do a job….
So therefore Id say this is a great torch for walking the dog or in case of a car breakdown but if you need it for more “tactical” applications I would NOT recommend.
I charged the battery in the torch and then gave it a full discharge until the torch switched off and then charged it up again while monitoring the charge current. 22.1WH of energy was put in so assuming a typical charging circuit efficiency of 90% the battery capacity was 22.1*0.9/4.2 = 4735AH. You do need to give a new battery a few charge and discharge cycles to get the full capacity so the advertised capacity of the battery is genuine.
A couple of notes though.
1) The charging port on mine was USB-C and not micro usb. That’s a bonus as far as I am concerned. The USB-C port can only be used for charging as it cannot supply power.
2) The torch indicates the battery is fully charged a little bit early so if you need the battery at absolute full capacity leave it on charge for another 30 minute or so.
LIGHT OUTPUT
I compared the torch to a 1000 lumen Nightcore torch. This torch is significantly brighter so I don’t doubt its 6000 lumen claim. The Nightcore torch had a hot spot in the centre of its beam which is ideal for a torch which can’t be zoomed in. This torch on the other hand has a very even daylight white spread when on wide angle. When fully zoomed in you can see the four led’s projected so it is not perfect but it can’t be helped.
USB OUTPUT
I tested the USB output and it seems capable of supplying 1.2A before the voltage starts to drop. That’s about half of what a power bank would generally be capable of delivering but overall still sufficient for emergency use.
Overall I am very impressed with the torch. The only downside is the power button which other reviewers have mentioned. It protrudes quite a bit meaning it is very easy to press so you need to be careful when storing it so that the button can’t be pressed.
I’ve had a torch with a Cree LED for 3 years now and I’ve been very impressed with it. This is a big improvement. My old one is 1200 lumens, this is much brighter, with a wide and even light spread without zooming it in. The rechargeable battery lasts much longer, I’ve used it for 45 minutes the first morning on maximum brightness, walking through pitch black woods with my dog. The battery can be charged without removing it, unlike my older one. It also has a USB out port beside the charging port for using the (5000 mAh) battery as a power bank. It works, I’ve tried it, but if you’re the sort of person who needs to recharge a phone on a remote hillside, then you probably weren’t looking for one of these anyway. The 5 mode press button switch is fairly standard, and has a positive feel. It’s a bit bigger than my older one, but still fits in a jacket pocket OK, if a bit bulky for my trouser pocket. I’ve also tested the drop resistance, although I hadn’t intended to! It was still shining brightly so I could find it when I found somewhere it was possible to scramble down the bank and walk back along the river bank to find it. Water resistance is good enough to run it under the tap when I got home and rinsed the mud off.
Overall, an excellent bit of kit, well made, robust and thoroughly recommended.
WHAT A TORCH !!!
This is a fantastic 5000mAh battery powered LED torch. It’s designed really well and has an outstanding light output.
The torch itself is solid and sturdy to hold. What I particularly like is the well placed on/off/mode button. Rather than being on the end like others, this is just where you need it. It also has the 4 LED battery level indicators around it.
The torch can extend to a good length, allowing it to produce a square centre focus beam. The square shape is as a result of the LED chip and is like this on all similar torches. The focus beam does seem a lot clearer than others though.
The torch beam strength is so bright compared with my other torches. It lights up such a big area and is a nice clean light.
The kit all comes in a plastic storage case. I side, there are other battery options, including 3 X AAA batteries and an adapter for them.
This charges via micro USB. It’s a shame it’s not USB-C, but it doesn’t affect its operation and is still a widely used charger. It can charge from Any usb source.
There’s even a handy belt case to pop it in when travelling.
I love this torch and can give it a big thumbs up, 5 star recommendation.
