Bought these trainers in black, they look fantastic and are very comfortable to wear with great arch support inside
Amazing pair of trainers so comfortable and easy to walk in. Going to buy another pair!!
I would highly recommend.
Pros: This is a good looking pair of trainers. It is excellent quality for the price and it looks so – and feels – so strong too.
Cons: The only think I didn’t like about it when I tried it on – found it too tough. And the knuckle of toes kept chaffing against the inside of the trainers. I knew straightaway it wasn’t a serious problem and would need just a (painful) week or two ‘wearing in’. And that was exactly what I did. Now its perfectly comfortable.
But I have a big unknown. I do lot of walking and my old ‘model’ very expensive Reebok lasted me nearly 12-YEARS! So I feel I’m writing this review too early. And while I do not expect it last 12-years before I bought it I did note another reviewer was not very happy with it after about 7 months.
Recommendation to manufacturer: make the inside more comfortable (perhaps more padding) and/or perhaps introduce ‘wide’ and ‘narrow’ fittings so that people with wider feet near the toes can have a more comfortable fit.
Verdict: At this stage I can see no reason why you would not be happy with purchase – after a week or two of wearing it in.
The quality of the shoes is very good, light and comfortable, and the most important thing is that they are non-slip.
I was given the chance to use and review these shoes. I have had a set of boots from the same brand and very much like them.
I had know from previously that the boots do come up small so being a uk 10 I ordered a uk 11 thinking I should be fine.
I received the shoes the same day I was going fishing at the beach. I thought it would be great to try them on this occasion as it’s a good 20-30 minute walk from the car across the beach to my spot. I got some good fish that night too !
After walking driving 45 minutes and walking 20-30 ish minutes I have to say my feet felt very cramped the shoes just seem too narrow even at the next size up.
They are so padded and have the potential to be very comfortable. They look and feel well made and even they hold very well against the water as a few times the seawater came in a little too far and went over my shoes but my toes stayed very dry.
The size 11 in the boot did fit well the size 11 in the shoe seems to be tighter.
Maybe with more use they will stretch but I’m not sure how much walking I could do in them before getting too sore.
I hope this review helps you with your purchase
Hybrid between trainers and walking boots these are actually super comfy from the get go and do provides me with superb grip and a fair amount of cushioning on rough terrains. I started using these for day to day use and even if honestly I am not 100% sold on the design, the comfort, protection and overall reasonable lightness have quickly won me over!
I never had this type of shoes before but surprising, they are quite comfortable to wear and not much difference in terms of comfort to my standard trainers that I usually wear for my long walks. But I like the fact that these are waterproof, so no more soggy socks when I am out for my walks in the rain.
The design is simple and the contrasting colours of black and orange are quite nice and go together really well.
I am usually a size 9 but ordered a size 9.5 instead which is perfect for me as there is a little room to wear thicker socks during Winter months.
Overall, I am very happy with these shoes which I will be using very often. Highly recommended!
my son has been wearing these for about a week now for college. he has about a 1.5 mile walk in both directions.
he has no issues in saying that these are comfortable and good to wear. in fact, they now take preference over his much more expensive foot coverings.
got a big thumbs up from him regarding them.
I can’t knock the quality of these, they’re well manufactured and made from good quality materials. But for me I found them uncomfortable. I’m a size nine normally and have had trainers from Jack Walker before so knew to size up. I got size 10 but still found them quite tight and narrow. I don’t have particularly wide feet either. I did not like how high up the shoes were, they have over an inch of sole it seems and I felt I was to high up with them on.
Nice comfy trainers that support foot well. Feel well made. Not a bad weight but not the lightest.
Nicely presented in printed box with tissue paper wrapping the shoes inside.
Pleased with these.
Really nicely made, I chose these as during the autumn and winter I am out in all weathers in muddy conditions.
I sized up slightly because I have wide feet, these are very padded so am glad I did. No toe squishing and your foot feels very secure.
These Jack Walker walking shoes are on closer inspection well made.
I ordered my normal size and after adjusting the laces found a comfortable
setting They open far enough to let a size 11 in comfortably.
Good protection at the toes and good support at the heel.
We are informed that they are waterproof and with only a small trial
That seems correct. I have the white version. The inside foot bed gives
good support and is very comfortable. The contact with the ground
has a good tred which will be happy to walk over rough ground.
All in all they are well made…..
I bought these shoes for my husband who always looking for perfect fit and these shoes are just accurate as he wanted. Secondly he found these shoes so comfortable, only one concern is these are not too light weight what we were expecting but Not too heavy to make them uncomfortable. So till now my husband is happy with these shoes.
I ordered these trainers for my husband.
He used it for his gym activity and long walk. He found it comfortable, light weight and fit as expected. I will update for its lagevity. Fair pricing.
Moreover, they are stylish, well made. It has a hard rubber sole that give bounce while walking. “No slip or trip” with a strong grip.
Overall, Strong and durable outdoor trainers.
The first thing that hit me when I opened the box was an overpoweringly strong chemical smell, two days later it is still strong. I am assuming that the smell is from the waterproofing but I cannot be sure, and it will no doubt dissipate over time.
The trainers themselves are stylish enough, but they are a peculiar fit. I ordered a size 8, and I think that they seem a little tight; the length seems OK, but the insole is quite thick, which is raising my foot. I expect over time these will wear in, like most other shoes, and then they will become a better fit. That being said, they are pretty comfortable and they are also pretty light.
The trainers themselves were fairly high, which given that I am not that tall, isn’t a bad thing. The construction seems good, and they seem to be nicely made out of good materials.
I haven’t been able to test their waterproof capability yet as I don’t want to get wet in them deliberately, but they seem like they should fair well, and the height of the trainer’s soles should definitely help with keeping them out of some of the water.
The uppers feel good and seem to be breathable, so hopefully these will perform well once I give them a bit of a hammering as I do like hiking.
All in all though, apart from the design quirks and the bad smell, these aren’t a bad pair of trainers for hiking in or for general use.
Really comfortable waterproof stylish trainers.they are amazing and feel so supportive when walking with a non slip inner sole .
Great heavy trainer which is hard wearing and high quality. Great pair of shoes and clearly built to last. These aren’t running shoes but will be great for winter casual wear. Highly recommended
Never heard of Jack Walker before (apart from my dad’s mate!), but these are really nice shoes. They come in a branded cardboard shoe box which is a good start rather than some generic wrapping. From taking them out they felt really well made. I’ve worn them for the last 2 days – dog walking and even on a pub crawl and they are so comfortable. The insole is really well cushioned and the fit is perfect, I’m size 9 and size 9 fits – I didn’t need a larger half size.
They have some great grips on the soles although it is a different sole design than pictured here – really chunky, would imagine it would be good in all sorts of terrain and weathers. The rest of the shoe is a combination of suede a waterproof material – it could be leather across the toe though but may well be an imitation leather – either way it feels strong. The whole shoe looks great and feels great. For the price I think they are bang on – very impressed.
I am very pleased with these. It’s good to have a sturdy walking trainer that does not have the high sides making them too boot-like, so although they are beefed up they still look like trainers. I got a size 8 and they fit exactly as expected. They are fitted with quite thick springy insoles which are removeable which is essential for me since I need orthotic arch support insoles for over-pronation. With the supplied insoles I feel my foot is not far down enough inside the shoe for them to feel like I’m in them properly, swapped for my thinner but shaped orthotic ones I feel much better. I would say they are medium weight, they have a lot of tread on them but they are quite stiff at first use so will need a bit of wear to get them to fit completely comfortably. The black white contrast is a good mix and I like that the design is fairly subdued without being too busy. I can find no faults in the manufacture so now it is just a case of seeing how long they last with a bit of wear and tear.
