Edge2 has a 7-pin pogo pad connector for USB extension, UART debugging and 5V power input for developers.

Edge2 is slimmer than other RK3588S Arm PCs whilst still maintaining a credit-card sized form factor which is convenient for OEM customers. Edge2 has two 30-pin 0.5mm FPC headers for connecting to the ‘Edge2 I/O Expansion Board’.

The RK3588S SoC has three MIPI-CSI camera interfaces, which means you can connect up to three cameras to Edge2 Simultaneously. The inbuilt ISP (image signal processor) supports up to 48MP per interface. These features make Edge2 the perfect solution for developers.

*MIPI-CSI interfaces are only accessible in the Edge2 Maker Kit.

The onboard RTC (real time clock) battery and STM32 micro-controller enables timed system standby or power-on.

Multi OS Support

Edge2 supports a wide range of popular open source operating systems; most notably Ubuntu and Android. It provides a reliable and stable software environment for product development and production. Software developers in partnership with Khadas, will release more customised operating systems for the Edge2 in the coming months. eg: LibreELEC / CoreELEC / Armbian

• Q: What’s the difference between Edge2 ARM PC and the Maker Kit?
• A: Edge2 ARM PC = Edge2 Maker Kit + Edge2 Active Cooling Kit + Edge2 DIY Case
• Q:Does Edge2 support NVMe SSDs?
• A:No, the NVMe I/O is already used for WiFi 6. It can’t be used for PCIe extension.
• Q:Does Khadas Edge2 have any storage expansion options?
• A:You can use a USB drive to expand the storage, or our upcoming extension board for Edge2 which will support SD cards. PCIe SSDs are not supported, as the I/O is already occupied by the WiFi 6 module.
• Q:What kind of cameras are compatible with Edge2 for video conferencing?
• A:Currently Edge2 only supports USB cameras. We are presently working on a MIPI camera for Edge2.
