This is an absolute winner for me, I’ll explain.
For context, I have a permanent spine injury, so despite me loving gardening, I often find it too hard to do, but!, with this, great.
So there’s 2 main reasons I think this is such a great tool.
    1) The reach of this is great, I’m 6.1″(185cm), so with my spine the way it is, in order for me to reach down to the floor, I need something that is long enough for me to reach the floor, but still have a decent amount of handle to use, so I can control the tool comfortably, and this has that, and it doesn’t just have it, it has it really well, because I can work a decent way ahead of me, due to this having such a decent length and reach.
    2) This is surprisingly lightweight. Once I screw the pieces together, I have a long enough tool to reach a decent way, and the fact that this is so lightweight, means I can not just use this, but I can use this for a decent amount of time.
I think it’s great that this also comes with a sharpening stone, because it means I can always keep this sharp enough to do the job, especially because I can unscrew the “Head part”, and just move that about to sharpen the blade, which makes this so much more of a usable tool for me, which I love because without tools like this one, I can’t garden anymore, due to my spine, so this tool is something that is making a great deal of difference for me, and because of that, I couldn’t give this anything less than 5 stars.
Greta tool, so happy personally to have it.

    Exactly what I needed

I have struggled getting my garden under control with weeds growing through the stones etc, tried lots of things, but this just cuts through no problem

If you’re looking for a loyal hoe, this one will stay by your side until it breaks. It’s got a lovely body that extends to match your size. It can be pushed and pulled, and won’t ever try to resist you. It does a great job of going deep and you’ll really feel the difference!

This has now replaced my other hoe to become my main hoe, the other is now just a side hoe. It’s very well made, easy to hold in your hands, and overall does a great job! Would recommend.

This is a pretty good garden hoe. It’s lightweight but sturdy, not sure how they do that but they have.

You’re able adjust the length depending on your height which is another plus and it does the job.

This garden hoe was easy to put together, feels sturdy and of good quality. It’s comfortable to use as well, quite lightweight and easy to move around.

Useful to have the sharpening stone in the box as well. I did think that the price, currently 39.99 at the time of writing, is a little more than I’d have normally spent on something like this, but it does feel like it’s made to last.

This hoe features a double edged blade in a protective u-frame, so you can hoe in a back and forth motion whilst not endangring nearby plants: The the three part handle means you can adjust it to different lengths, and it comes with a whetstone to keep the blades sharp. The whole is very lightweight and well balanced. Overall a very well designed and well executed garden tool. Recommended.

This is a useful tool where weeds have got in amongst plants I want to keep. Unlike a standard flat-bladed hoe it will cut right up to the stems without hurting them, due to the side bars. A back and forth action can be used as the blade is sharp on both front and back edges. I find this makes it quicker to get a job done.
The quality is good and the pole length is easily adjustable to suit different heights.
The blades weren’t particularly sharp when I received it but a whetstone block is included in the pack for sharpening. The blade assembly is removeable for this, making it easy to use the block on both sides and edges.
I’m happy with the tool. It’s been tried in an area where wild bird seed had been spilled and pots of grasses had spring up between the shrubs. The hoe allowed me to deal with a square metre or so of weeds without damaging any stems. The value for money is above average and I can recommend it for a keen gardener.

This isn’t really the best time of year for me to try out a hoe as most of my beds at the allotment are covered with weed-proof fabric or mulch for winter. However it has made a good job in the small patch of soil I had uncovered where I still had to clear my beans. I also tried it on an area where we have a mulch of unrotted horse manure/wood shavings and it was absolutely great at working weeds out of the loose surface.
I think this will be great over next summer between rows of potatoes and garlic etc.
we got the longer version as my partner is taller than me plus we wanted to easily reach over the back of our beds. Even at 5’4 I find the length easy to use and control at it is lightweight plus if you wanted to make it shorter you could leave one of the sections of tubing out as they just easily screw into each other. I was pleased with the quality of this and it looks like it will stand up well to use.

    Good quality and effective

hreaded sections very easy to assemble, and strong once built. very sharp and keeps its edge a long time, and is easy to resharpen. pole is ideal for me, but by removing sections could be made to suit shorter people. very pleased with this.

This hula rake come hoe is pretty good. I will no longer have to remove weeds from my flower bed at the front of my house bent over or on my knees!

It’s actually much better for me with my chronic back pain as bending over can be quite problematic for me

It came in pieces for ease of delivery I’m assuming. But it was pretty easy enough to put together. Just screw the sections together then voila your good to go!

You also get a sharpening tool which I am assuming is to keep the 2 edges nice and sharp in order that you can hoe easily and effectively

The hoe can extend up to 75″ and it’s not so heavy that I found it uncomfortable to use

Pretty effective and I’d recommend if you have lots of weeds growing in your beds etc

I hope you found this review helpful

The hoe comes in small box as it is sectional, you can change the length by adding or removing centre tube sections. The sections simply screw together with the first section being the hoe head and the last the handle end. The blade can be used on pull and push strokes, I found that it was easier to penetrate harder soil pulling it towards you, it easily decapitates pesky weeds and is easily manoeuvrable around plants and obstacles. The tubes feel a bit flimsy but seem to be strong enough to do the job, I guess the thicker gauge metal they are the heavier it would be, it is light to hold. There is a sharpening stone provided to keep the blade sharp or re sharpen it if it gets a bit dull.

Lightweight, length adjustable and easy to use.

This garden hoe is of a modern, lightweight design that comes in sections in a box but is incredibly easy to put together; it comes with instructions, but you don’t really need them as you simply screw the parts together.

The hoe end is a ‘stirrup’ type which I find brilliant as all you need to do is push and pull it through the upper surface of the soil. It is sharp and cuts through weed roots very easily and efficiency. Apart from having a deep mulch layer on the ground, regular hoeing is the best way to keep beds weed-free as it disrupts seedlings before they can establish and this is the best hoe I’ve ever used for this purpose.

It comes with a whetstone of sharper so that you can keep it super keen for each use. We are reviewing the shorter, 60″ version which is plenty long enough for my husband who is 5’10” and me at 5’2″ — I find excessively long garden tools a bit cumbersome to use; this one is just right. The handle has a hanging hole on the end for storage.

The current selling price is 28.79 (down from 35.99) which is good value as I imagine this will last a long time. I love it and thoroughly recommend it!

I received this garden Hula Hoe through the Amazon vine program
This is something different for weeding your garden not like the traditional type of hoe as it looks like this actually gets down to the roots and cuts them out,
What you get in the box is, the hoe stirrup head which has 2cutting edges for pushing it forward and backwards plus 3 pieces of tub that actually screw together to make the handle, also in the box is a sharpening stone so you ca keep the hoes stirrup cutting edges reasonably sharp for any stubborn weeds
The product itself looks to be well made, durable and the price is on par with most gardening equipment
I’m sure this will work ok, but won’t be using it at the moment as everything is dormant in the garden at the moment but will definitely edit my review in the spring when we all get back gardening

I hope you found this review helpful

I was pleased to try this ‘Plutohiker Garden Hula Hoes for Weeding Gardening, 60-Inch-Long Handle Heavy Duty Stirrup Hoe Tools, with Adjustable Scuffle Loop and Whetstone, Sharp Durable Metal Handle Weeding Rake’. I have had a similar hoe to this in the past and I know how effective it is – you can get a back-and-forth motion going. This tills the soil at the surface catching the annual weeds with each motion.

You get four pieces that are easy to assemble – hoe, handle and two middle sections. They just twist into each other. The tube parts feel lightweight but very strong. It doesn’t say what metal they are made from; however, I wonder if it is black coated aluminium as it is lightweight. Each tube has been extruded without a seam, which adds to the strength. The working end of the tool is weightier with the yellow coated side parts being very well attached and strong. The 60cm length is a perfect size for me at 5tt 5inches.

The hoe also comes with a whetstone, which I don’t think is actually to use on this tool because although the two working edges are honed, they are not actually sharp. It will be very handy to sharpen other bladed tools though.

All in all, I really like this tool – it is effective and definitely fit for purpose. The whetstone is a bonus. The current price of 35.99 seems a little expensive, in my opinion, although it is a very well-made sturdy tool and I suppose you get what you pay for.

It is effective and definitely fit for purpose.
