These are good fall and/or driving gloves. Not super thick, but thick enough to keep cold things from hurting when picked up and to block the wind. Work so-so on touchscreens of various devices – enough to answer a call, but good luck texting, which is to be expected.
Did not work well in my experience below -15 or so – I’d opt for something more insulated if below that is your target temperature range.
These definitely keep your hands warm, I used them for cycling to work on a recent cold morning and it kept my hands very warm. They work very well with touch screen so overall very happy.
I love these gloves, they’re super comfy and extremely warm. I love the fact my phone works without me having to chew on removing my glove to make the touchscreen on my phone work. I highly recommend these gloves for anyone.
Got these gloves for some cold weather biking, and they do have the extra function of being able to use your phone. They held up great in cool weather about 1C, however they are knit and I did one ride in rain and they just absorb the water and eventually your hands start to get cold. So they’re great for dry cold weather, not so much once they get wet. However they seem to be well made, they fit a little large, but that’s fine for me as I usually wear some tight small gloves underneath while biking. Overall I’d recommend them, but keep in mind the length, fingers seem a bit long.
Unfortunately these gloves are far too big for me and I can’t use them very easily because of this so I won’t be wearing them personally but they are big enough for my hubby! They do have some great points because they are comfortable for him to wear, nice and soft and they do a great job at keeping his hands warm. My hubby has no issues with using his phone when he’s wearing them and he likes that they have the non slip palms as he says it’s very handy. We feel the value for money is pretty good and would recommend them for men but not for women.
Reasonably decent quality, lightweight gloves that are stretchy enough to fit small to good sized medium hands. My hands are on the larg…ish side (long fingers) so these are a bit snug. On more normal hands (eg my brother’s) they are not too tight but tight enough to fit well. Nice and warm but breathable. The gloves wash well without shrinking (used a cool wash). They are very fairly priced for the quality at just under 7.00.
Great for winter
Pros – warm , great material
– soft and comfortable
Con- didn’t work well with my iphone touch scree
These are large nice thick gloves. They are not waterproof and unlikely to be windproof. Surprisingly you can use a touchscreen device. They are big so for big hands. The wrist is chunkier then the rest of the glove. They do keep the hands warm.
These gloves are really soft and lightweight. I love how comfortable they are and how it has the touchscreen fingertips so you can utilize your phone while wearing them. The material is light and airy without being too hot and heavy to wear. They wash really well in the machine and it’s definitely a good purchase in my opinion. Thank you so much
Fitted on the larger side, so suit a bigger hand such as a mans, as they are also quite stretchy. The antigrip on the palms of the gloves make them ideal for holding dog leads in wet weather as they provide extra grip, however, they aren’t waterproof.
Touch screen friendly thumb and index fingers also a useful modern touch. For the price, they are good gloves for casual use.
Review for Protado Winter Gloves Men, Thickening Anti-Slip Touch Screen Gloves Thermal Liner Knit Wool Gloves with Silicone Particles Elastic Cuff for Cycling Driving Hiking Climbing Skiing
These are wool blend knit gloves that can be used with touch screens. There is a triangle grid pattern on the palms and fingers to improve grip. The touch screen sensitivity is in the fingertips. The glove has a double knit cuff which makes it warmer, especially against the wind and snow.
The gloves are “free size”. This means it is a one size fits all. However, it fits large hands. My son who is 6’1″ and is proportional to his height, found the fingers to be long. I’m 5’8″ and I could still use them for my touch screen although I found them a bit long too. For me, the most important digit is the index finger. And it was an ok fit. See photo of index finger of glove.
The width across the palm and the tightness of the cuff was good for both of us.
I recommend these gloves, for adults who wear large of extra large gloves.
These are a nice thickness of knitted glove. They also have a bit of stretch in them. They touch screen fingers work well. They’ve only be worn a few times as the weather is still mild. My son hoped they’ll continue to keep his hands warn in the winter months as well.
These gloves are pretty great fall gloves for someone who feels the cold heavily, or winter gloves for native born Canadians or those who have great circulation and don’t feel the winter cold badly. They are reasonably thick and almost identical to a similar pair I tried. I think this pair is slightly less nice (hence the removal of a star), due to their boring colour (black) and lack of an design or motifs. In other words, they’re a bit boring.
However, they do the job and not everyone wants an exciting glove, these are nice and discreet. The touchscreen works very well, however the fingers are quite long and if your fingers aren’t in the touchscreen section it can be difficult. So keep that in mind if you have shorter fingers.
These gloves feel warm. They are good quality, look well made. They have grip on the palm so not slippery like other gloves. The touch on the thumb, index and middle fingers work well on my phone and tablet so wouldn’t have to take them off when out and checking your phone. They are really large in size I’m happy to wear them even being slightly too big but I’m sure the hubby will probably wear them too.
These will be suited for large / very large hands best. I did find that my fingers didn’t reach the ends of these. So it made using my phone more difficult as there was excess glove. These are however really good quality and nice and warm. Certainly recommended if you have big hands!
These gloves are very thick, warm and cozy. They look very big when you first see them, but they are surprisingly snug (in a good way) when you put them on. The touchscreen fingertip works perfectly, which is great! It is always a pain to have to take your gloves off to use your phone. These gloves also have a great grip to help you keep ahold of whatever is in your hand.
I really like the way these gloves feel because they are not only warm, but they are very soft as well. This is a very nice pair of gloves, and will make those cold evenings out walking the dog or biking a little more bearable.
Very warm and comfortable winter gloves. Slightly big for medium /small glove size. Otherwise they are just fine. Good quality
These gloves are soooo warm and they do work with your phone. BUT they have really long fingers so I think they are more suited towards men with long fingers or bigger palms. I found I still had half an inch space to my finger tip and I have super long fingers as a woman! That being said, I will probably wash them and they may shrink a little.
Fabric is of good quality. Touch tip works well and they fit nicely past my wrist. I can’t wait to wear them while dog walking!
These are fairly comfortable gloves for the cold weather. When I mean cold weather is mostly fall and early winter. I think these gloves are mostly for activities when your body is feeling warm anyways. The material is slightly on the thinner side but they do keep your hands snug and warm. I like the long cuff as it helps the gloves snug and keep the hands warm. The touch screen edges are cool but I found them not as sensitive but they are perfect for functions such as answering a call or entering a password on the touchscreen. The gloves have nice rubbery type grips on the palms which is a bonus. Overall, these gloves are good for the price and perfect for everyday gloves.
These are nice looking, thick and warm gloves. They seem well made. They have additional knit inside. The Finger tips work fine on my smart phone. The gloves’ fit seems medium size for men, they would be loose for a woman to wear.
These gloves are very warm and the fabric is elastic so it is quite stretchy, although the overall size is a bit large. The inside of the glove is a very warm fleecy material and is very soft. The whole of the palm and fingers is covered in a non slip rubber pattern, so you can grip things and use the gloves for driving.
– Good feeling material on inside and outside
– The right thickness
– Keeps hands warm
– Full cover palm grip/anti-slip
– Thumb, index, and middle fingers work with touchscreen
– Cuff covers wrist area as well
– Only one size and it’s for larger hands
– Some of the fingers are long (especially thumb and pinky) so it’s a weird fit even for the recommended palm size
These Protado winter gloves are fairly thick, woolly on the outside with a cosy thermal fleece lining. There is an effective anti-slip triangular pattern on the palm to help with grip, so they would be good for driving, pushing a pram, cycling, holding dog leads, etc. The thumbs, forefingers, and middle fingers, have a handy touch screen area so that you can use your phone or other devices without removing the gloves. I thought they’d be too big but actually, because they’re quite thick, they fit as very well and feel very cosy.
I ordered these pair of gloves for myself, as it is the start of winter here in UK.
It is one size for both men/women. I find it warm and comfortable. It has an elastic wrist close around the skin that helps to keep wind out in winter. They are not waterproof. The gloves are woven & fully covered with triangular silicone on the palm. They are anti-slip and touch screen. It is slightly big from the fingers because of size one, but it’s better if individual sizes are available.
Overall, Good quality, warm and cosy winter gloves.
These are nicely made gloves and warm, what I like about them is that when they are on they are pliable so that you can pick things up and there is no padding to stop the feeling or cause a problem with grip.
The inside of the gloves has a repeated triangle pattern that is textures and raised, just little little bumps that add extra grip, the stitching is nicely done and they go up your wrist and hold firm, they don’t feel like they will fall off.
I think in regards to comfort they feel nice on the hand with no real feeling of the stitching, there is nothing to cause any discomfort. However they are a little tight for me at the bottom of the fingers.
I think the gloves weakness is the fact that they are one size, I found there was excess space at the end of the fingers, for someone with smaller fingers then this would cause more of an issue, I just think the fit and the comfort of that fit will rely on your hand matching what is expected in the glove and not everyone’s hands are the same so you may get a fit which is not perfect.
These do work as touchscreen gloves and work fine but again due to the fit and a fair bit of material above my fingers you end up pushing the material in a bit to get to the screen, it’s fine and not too much of an issue but worth noting.
I really like the raised bumps and the feeling of grip these give you while still being able to keep your hand warm but I think the fit may cause issues for some.
These are very comfy, soft and and warm gloves. My hands are quite tiny, so I wouldn’t mind them being a bit smaller but this is definitely not a product’s fault. Affordable price is yet another bonus. 5/5
These are really nice knitted woollen gloves. They are a reasonable thickness and have a fleecy type surface inside to keep your hands nice and warm but they are not so thick as to make you clumsy and awkward handling or picking things up.
In fact, the pattern of triangle designs of slightly raised silicone patches give you an excellent grip across the palm and the length of all 5 fingers, on both hands. The backs of the hands are just plain black. The extra thick cuffs close snugly around the wrists and keep out the cold wind.
The touchscreen pads on both thumbs, index abs middle fingers work pretty well. Not quite as responsive as bare skin but they respond to swiping readily and, with a little more pressure than your normally use, they will respond to fingertip presses, like opening apps, etc.
These are really nice, comfortable, warm gloves for autumn and winter. Being woollen, I wouldn’t expect them to be fully waterproof although I did note that one of the photos on the listing showed someone making a snowball with them. Normally, you would end up with wet gloves soaked in chilly snow-melt water. So I asked the seller about this, wondering if they’d put some sort of waterproof treatment. There were completely up front about the fact that the gloves are not waterproof and says the snowball pictures was just there too express how warm the gloves keep your hands.
So, lovely, warm, winter gloves with touchscreen capabilities and a good grip to the palms and fingers – perfect for chilly days but don’t expect them to keep out all the water on really rainy days or when handling snow and ice.
These gloves fit just right and are quite warm and comfortable. The finger tips allow you to operate your phone while wearing them which is an absolute plus in my books as I’m able to check if the bus is running late on a cold day while standing & waiting with my kids to get on the school bus, without having to take off my gloves.
I received a pair of Protado Winter Gloves (for Men & Women) for review.
This is an updated review as a few things changed since my last review.
I first reviewed this pair of gloves with the mention that I received a pair with 2 different size. After reading my review, the seller contacted me directly and offered to send me a free 2nd pair without any defect. I appreciate the initiative from the seller at fixing the problem. This showed me that the seller truly care about its customers’ satisfaction so feel free to contact them if you had a problem with your pair!
As for the review of the gloves themselves, I’ll also update my previous review as it has gotten cold enough outside (minus 0, risks of snows inbound and all) to review the glove in a more practical way than during mid-fall.
How’s the feeling/touch?
The wool and feeling inside the gloves feels super nice and confortable.
How’s the touch-screen fingertips?
The touch-screen friendly area at the tip of the fingers work relatively well for something as thick as this. It’s actually a lot better then most gloves that has only a thin layer of fabric stitched at the tip of other gloves.
How’s the insulation (resistance to cold)?
The gloves are relatively warm, but not up to a point where I would use them for something like snowboarding/skiing. It feels like some really good gloves to wear while walking outside, during Winter, in a town or city, but it’s not something I would wear extensively outside while walking, for example, on a mountain or a forest. Even though better than most other “touch-screen friendly” gloves, it retains that the gloves have weakened insulation at the fingertips, hence you will feel the tip of your finger getting cold at an environment around minus 10 Celsius or lower. (Hence why I recommend this in a town or city as you can, normally, find some establishment where you can warm up a little or even just drink a warm coffee.)
Is it safe to play in snow?
The material (wool) is knitted in a relatively breathable way, but it also makes the material susceptible to water and icy/cold surface will stick to the gloves’ surface and, in case of ice or snow, will melt and make the gloves quickly loose its insulation property. I do not recommend these gloves if you (or whoever wearer) is planning on playing in the snow. The knitted wool will most likely get undone quickly over time if you pull the gloves while it’s even just a bit stuck on a cold surface.
As the gloves are single-layered (even though it’s a thick single layer), a single tread displacement or pulling will means an hole will appear in the glove.
Is it resistant to water/humidity?
Nope. It might resist a slight exposure to rain or dense fog, but stick your hand in some water and you’ll feel the cold water quickly slipping through the wool as said wool is single layered. This also means you should not use this kind of gloves if you’re shoveling damp snow (you know, that heavy slushy pill of cold goo that turns into ice as soon after?)
Now, as a conclusion, I do recommend these glove to casual social event outside in a town or in a city. You might do some activities that doesn’t involves, normally, touching ice/snow like ice skating. (But please, don’t use your phone while ice skating, even if those gloves kinda allows you to do it.) I’ll be using mine for sure this winter!
These are some nice gloves, very comfortable and fit for me very well.
There is a bit of stretch in them, but note the size before you order, it can probably take a slightly bigger hand than mentioned but don’t go over the top.
The underside is textured for a grip feel, but not really for heavy activity, this is more for keeping your hands out the cold. Suitable for walking about during low light as the winter cold starts to set in.
As modern gloves, they also come with touch screen compatible finger tips but note its only on certain fingers/thumbs. Ring fingers and little fingers are not compatible for screen use.
Although these gloves are advertised as both men/ women gloves I would say they are definitely more like men gloves due to their big size.
I got them for myself but won’t be wearing them because they are massive on me and the fingers are huge too.
My partner will be using them as I believe they look better on men.
They are perfect for winter though because they are made from thick wool and are touch screen friendly. Apart from the fact they are massive they are a good pair of gloves.
My husband is really happy with these. He said “they’re the nicest gloves I’ve ever had”. Even asked if I can buy him another pair.
These get a 5 out of 5 from hubby
These gloves are nice and thick with a warm fleece like lining. You can use devices with them on. They are huge. Definitely men’s gloves. I have medium hands and everything about these gloves is too big for me. They fit my husband perfectly. The textured palms are good.
This is a lovely quality good pair of gloves. Nice and thick, have a area on non slip pattern on palms which would be good when you are driving. The finger tips have a special material that allows you to use your touch screen devices with your gloves on. This pair were size L so they are way too big for me but fit my husband perfectly. I would definitely get these in a medium for me. Really good price, and a must have if you like to be on your devices a lot when you are out in the cold weather.
These wool winter gloves are understated but elegant in appearance.
There is a non-slip application to the palm of the gloves, which runs up the inside of the fingers, while the back of the hand section of the glove is plain.
The non-slip material is applied in a triangle pattern and gives an appealing look to the glove.
They have a good snug fit and the inside lining is a plush material that feels warm and luxurious to the touch.
The gloves do appear to be warm and the non-slip palm grip is a useful feature to have.
And while of no importance to me the ability to manipulate the screen of a smartphone while wearing these gloves works well. And this is on both hands so it does not matter what is your dominant hand.
Reasonable value for money.
The grip pads are functional and appear to be well applied, they aren’t peeling anywhere.
For the touch screen finger tips, I was able to use my iPhone easily with these gloves on.
The material is a thick weave with a softer inner layer, this should work well for keeping the heat in comfortably.
There are no loose threads, the pair I received are very well made.
At a price of $16.99 when I wrote this, I’d say these are 5/5 and a good value, these will likely last for several years.
The fabric is a little bit thin. I do not think it is suitable for Canada’s cold winter time. Also, the size is a bit large for small hand.
The quality of the fabric of these gloves is very good, it has a very good finish, with Anti-Slip Touch Scree
