This is portable, which is nice. It has both a stand and a magnet, which means I can (and do) transport it from table to fridge to door to outside whenever I need to.
I haven’t tried the included magnetic backing that you can put anywhere you need to. I’m lucky to have metal doors and numerous other places I can stick it without mounting it.
It’s been months. I haven’t had any hint of needing new batteries, yet, and I don’t anticipate it for a while.
There is an option to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, and you can accidentally switch it, so pay attention to that. It happened more often than I’d like to admit.
It’s been very useful around our plants and power stations.
Bottom line: Would I order again? Yes. Would I gift? Yes. This makes a nice household gift.
This is super easy to use. All I had to do was pull it out of the box, pull out the tab, and it was working. It seems to be accurate, too, as far as I can tell. The back is supposed to be magnetic, and I can tell it is, but it’s not very strong. If I put it on my refrigerator or freezer, it just slides down. There’s a metal sticky pad that can make it stick to things, but I didn’t use that part. Since it wouldn’t stay on my refrigerator, I just use the fold out arm to make it stand. I do like it, though I wish the magnet was stronger.
We’re all trying to keep the heating set a little lower this year, and along with less heating comes the worry of humidity or even damp. So this is a brilliant little sensor. The readout is extremely clear and straightforward, and its very light and portable. There is a little stand built in to the back, or a magnet mount if you’d rather have it on the wall. Being able to move it around the room or into different parts of the house is really useful. Being able to keep an eye on the humidity level is really re-assuring. This way we can have the heating on low and not worry. Sometimes it feels like the air might be damp but really its just cold, this sensor gives you all the facts.
Good little thermometer and hygrometer that seems accurate. Four stars.
It didn’t immediately turn on when I pulled the battery tab, requiring me to re-seat that honking CR2450 battery. I’ve never seen a chonky CR battery like this one, and wonder why they didn’t just run on 2 AAA batteries instead. I wonder how long it will last.
The magnet-mounting in the back is the coolest way to place this anywhere there is already metal. Unlike others, it has adjustments if you find the temps off (which they weren’t for me) which allow you to adjust the temp up or down on its reading.
I honestly can’t tell how accurate this is. I have ThermoPro TP50 and Ecobee device. They all shows differently. I’ve calibrate Searon manually twice and still off from each other.
PRO : Magnetic back, Compact size, Large font- easy to read, easy to operate, Good manual.
CON: no back light – can’t see at night without a light, watch type of battery (CR2450)
Out of the box the calibration was about 0.5C low, which I think is pretty good. I can’t accurately measure humidity, but it gave similar readings to another device.
I was surprised – and pleased – that one can calibrate both the thermometer and humidity to make it even more accurate.
Build is good; I think it looks nice (exactly as imaged) and has a choice of either mounting on a flat surface using the fold out stand at the back, or using the stick-on magnet to mount on a vertical surface.
The 24h max/min record is useful – it’s interesting to see how cold my room gets overnight!
I am not sure what you can say about a thermometer and humidity reader, apart from it appears to be doing exactly what it’s supposed to!
The plastic unit came in a small box with a protector over the screen. Once the battery tab was pulled out it sprung into life and proceeded to do its job. I have this situated in my conservatory on a table so I am using the stand. A sticky pad is also provided within the box so you can mount the unit on a wall etc. The black letters are easy to read and there are three humidity levels for each type (dry, comfort, and wet).
You can switch it from Celsius to Fahrenheit dependant on your preference ….
I have deducted a star for value for money as at 12.99 I feel it’s a little pricey for what you actually get, under a tenner would have been better.
Hope this helps
A good battery powered thermometer / hygrometer, with high and low readings. When compared to a handful of other models I consider to be accurate, this one is off by 2 degrees lower both in temp and humidity. In my experience, this is to be expected, it’s hard to find a truly accurate digital thermometer.
I ordered this to use in room with reptile tanks but the thermometer in Royal pythons tank seemed to be play up so I’ve placed this in tank and seems to be accurate as corresponding with thermostat and digital thermometer.Reads temperature and humidity and has clear easy read display. You can use with little stand as I have of has a sticky magnet you place on wall and can hang that way,I will place this in room
when get another probe thermometer but for now working well in tank
This is a nice size to see from a distance. Some are so tiny you have to walk right up to them to read them. It has a hygrometer reading telling you the high and low ranges over previous periods. This is useful if you are concerned about room comfort in hot weather. I’m not consulting it so much in the cold weather, it’s good quality and useful to give a room temperature reading.
This has its own little kickstand or you can attach it to the fridge.
Hi, I got this as needed a bigger display to show temperature and humidity in my basement, I have small versions but saw this and it’s a lot better, it’s as acucurate as the others, but it’s got more information so no complaints a great device
This is a great little thermostat. It measures around 10 x 5 cm so it’s quite small so will take little space but it’s very handy and seems to be accurate. It has a cool feature of recording and displaying the temperature and the humidity for the last 24 hours as a reference.
It comes with a (replaceable) battery so it is ready to use, the kickstand is perfect for having it nicely sit on the table.
I like that the numbers on the display are quite large so they are easy to read from a distance. The temperature can be displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit degrees according to everyone’s preference.
Easy to move around the house due to its small size and the temperature updates within seconds.
Cheap and it does a great job, exactly what I needed.
This compact SR-HT100 model thermometer hygrometer by Searon is easy to read and seems accurate enough — but it can be easily recalibrated if your readings are not correct. This monitor is powered by a single CR2450 round lithium battery that is supplied and fitted but needs activating before use. This monitor is for indoor use only and offers a clear display with temperature (in C or F) and % relative humidity at the top, with high and low readings at the bottom, and a coloured comfort level indicator across the middle. This display can be magnetically mounted, stuck to a non-metallic surface or used free-standing to suit it’s location. Currently around thirteen pounds from Amazon this is a handy little temperature & humidity monitor that offers decent value-for-money at the price, it is supplied with a clear instruction sheet and deserves five stars for features.
This Searon indoor thermometer and hydrometer is supplied in a plastic tray inside a cardboard box. It comes with instructions and a pre-fitted CR2450 button battery. Replacements for the latter are readily available and cheap to buy. The unit is larger than the other type of thermometer that I use and that makes it easier to see and read from a distance. The readout shows both current temperature and humidity and the highs and lows for the last 24 hours. There is also a humidity ‘comfort’ bar that indicates three zones of dry (0-30%), comfort (30-70%) and wet (70-100%). The unit has its own ‘kick’ stand that may be extended from the back of the case. It is stable enough but could be better and sets the unit at an angle, leaning backwards. Alternatively, the rear casing is magnetic and it will hold the unit well on, for example, the side of my microwave or fridge. In addition, a self-adhesive magnetic pad is supplied with the unit that may be used to create a locus for it in a place where there is no ferrous metal. For example, I am going to attach mine above our heating thermostat in the hall of our house. In case this is not clear, I will stick the pad to the wall and then the unit will magnetically stick to it.
I have compared this thermometer with a traditional max/min thermometer we keep in the utility room and to other similar electronic units I have. I wasn’t expecting this unit to be 100% accurate but I have had what I would call mixed results. It under reads compared to the traditional thermometer but is reading higher than the other electronic units. I am therefore not sure how accurate it is. I do not own an accurate thermometer and mostly rely on the fact that these units will show temperature variations rather than an accurate absolute reading. They are after all, just a guide. My main reasons for having them is to check it is not too cold or too wet because both of those states can cause issues like condensation and mould. This unit allows for both the temperature and humidity to be calibrated but it is only worth doing that if one is starting with a reasonably accurate reading to calibrate it to. I have dropped a star because I feel it should be calibrated in the factory. The adjustment is a nice to have but only if one has the means to calibrate it accurately.
That said, this is still a good unit and is probably no more or less accurate than other similar units on the market. As I said, it is probably the variations that most would be interested in. It is well made and everything you need is in the box. The battery should last a fair while and it easy to replace when necessary. Personally, I prefer the type of unit that give a highest ever and lowest ever maximum and minimum over all the time the unit has been powered up. The 24hr max/min given here has its uses as well and so it is just a matter of deciding which you need/prefer before you buy this unit. It is well priced and represents good value. The calibration is a useful extra feature and over all, if it suits your needs, I would still recommend it.
Perfect indoor thermometer and hygrometer.
I have found this to be very accurate.
It comes with a blue magnetic strip if you want to attach this to a wall via magnet.
However I have put this on my fridge as both are magnetised and it works perfectly.
It’s nice and compact, great for keeping an eye on temperature as we go into winter and the rising heating bills!
12.99 at time of review, bargain.
what do I like about this product?
well built from a good quality plastic
large display – easy to take the readings
simple data presentation on display
24 hr historic overview of the temperature and humidity levels
ability to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit readings
can work as a stand on a flat surface or attached to the metallic surface with adhesive at the back of the thermometer
very precise
weather comfort indicator: is it dry now? is it comfortable? is too wet?
very competitive price
ability to calibrate readings manually
versatile application, from private to business: wine cellar, nursery, basement, greenhouse, etc
What I did not like about this thermometer?
nothing negative was detected
Firstly please do be aware of its size, it is 8.78cm x 6.56cm x 1.3cm (3.42″ x 2.58″ x 0.53″) and it weighs 100g.
It isn’t big and it isn’t small, ideal I reckon personally but you could be forgiven to think it is a lot bigger.
It runs on a CR2450 battery (included) which is located under a cover on the back, and also on the back there is a C/F button to select the temperature units (I prefer F for weather and room temperatures), and there are also ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ arrow buttons for use if/when you want to calibrate it.
At this point I should mention it is really advisable to read the instruction manual for full details.
You can either mount the meter on a ’round headed screw’ as there is a keyhole slot on the back, or use the metal sticky mounting pad and attach it magnetically, or (my favourite !) use the pull-out kickstand.
On the front display there is firstly the temperature with one decimal place and the to the right the humidity, displayed aa a percentage.
Below that you get a “Dry-Comfort-Wet” ribbon indicator (9 levels, 3 in each segment) and below that are the “High/Low” values for the last 24 hours for both temperature and humidity, but please note the temperature is displayed only as whole number, the decimal place is missing, but I don’t see that as a problem at all really.
Conclusion :
A great little meter, and you can calibrate it accurately if you so wish (see the manual for the exact procedure) although I found it accurate enough straight out of the box for me, and I did compare it with other meters of this type that I have, that I know to be accurate.
It is very reasonably priced too, and if you need this type of meter, I can thoroughly recommend it … 5 stars from me, great piece of kit !
At the time of writing this review, the price for this wireless thermometer is 12.99.
In the box, you will get the thermometer with battery pre-installed. To start using the thermometer, you will simply need to plug the battery tag and it is ready to go. The thermometer can display temperature and humidity, you can also set it to measure and display the minimum, maximum or the average values. The colour screen and indicators bar makes it easy to determine if it is too hold or too cold, too dry or too humid.
Compact and accurate little indoor temp and humidity.
Has a kick out stand and rear is magnetic. It also comes with battery and spare!
Inc is some sticky foam pads to mount more permanently to a non magnetic surface.

This is very nice looking Thermometer and I liked it. The digits are easily visible and very stylish. When you look at the screen, you can see in the first line Temperature and Humidity Meter. In the second line there are three comfort level meter, Dry, Comfort, Wet, respectively. In the third line, the highest and the lowest temperature and humidity rate are shown. You can use it at desktop or stick it to wall (there is 3M sticker back side of the thermometer)
When you look at the back of the thermometer,
There are 3 buttons that allow you to calibrate the values of the temperature and humidity (up and down buttons). If you are familiar with Fahrenheit or Celsius, you can switch between them (Switching button)
Testing Result:
I compared this thermometer with Xiaomi and Amazon Echo Plus. When I checked my room temperature around 1:42 am.
This Thermometer:
Temperature: 21.2 Celsius Degree
Humidity: 57%
Xiaomi:
Temperature: 22.1 Celsius Degree
Humidity: 59%
Amazon Echo Plus:
Temperature: 20.5
As you can see that the values of this thermometer are placed between Xiaomi and Amazon Echo Plus in terms of the temperature and humidity value. The humidity of my room are pretty identical on Xiaomi and this product (59%, 57%). That’s cool
If it had a watch feature, it would be gorgeous thermometer with watch.
I’m very satisfied with the product.
Overall,
This is a nice thermometer with kickstand and I can recommend it.
I like this little device.
It has bold numbers for Temp and humidity, with smaller display for the highest and lowest of both.
There is also a coloured bar that shows the comfort level for the humidity, a nice extra that I did not think about, but now I know I will check it each time.
On the back is a button to set to C of F and an up and down to micro set the settings if they are off from what they should be.
Once little nice thing is not only does it have a stand, but it also has a magnet, so no mine lives on my fridge and I have no worry of it falling off.
It also comes with a metal sticky pad so you can attach it to any surface ( like a wall ).
This does take 2 AAA batteries of which 2 are in the pack
It would be nice to have the option to reset the High and Low settings , but I guess the thing about this is its simplicity.
Lovely crystal clear screen on this temperature and humidity monitor from Searon brand. It comes with a button battery, just pull out the plastic arrow to start it. It was set up in Celsius so was ready to use straight from the box. It’s an excellent replacement for my last temperature monitor that stopped working as this one has a much clearer screen that’s easy to read and is accurate, it also has a stand on the back plus a magnet if putting on a kitchen appliance. I’m very pleased with it and am therefore happy to recommend it to you too.
I love checking the differences in temperature in different rooms. With the incoming winter and surreal electricity prices, I can’t wait to see how cold and humid the interior of my house can get.
The tool is really great though. Nothing to complain. 100% recommend.
There’s nothing not to love in it.
Simple to use, don’t really need instructions.
Comes with it’s battery that you need to adjust well and close the lid.
Big numbers you can see from the other side of room.
Exactly what I wanted!
Comes with a battery, metal sticky pad and instructions.
First off, this is much smaller than the mocked up pictures they show you suggest. It is the size claimed by the measurements but not the size it is in the photos, this isn’t a bad thing but just make sure it’s the size you want.
The display is clear and when compared to other devices I have it is accurate. It can be manually calibrated but I didn’t need to do this.
The back is magnetic so you can stick it straight to the fridge etc or you can use the little stand. It also has a sticky backed metal plate so you can stick it only most surfaces.
A nice small monitor.
I have a number of small digital thermometers which I use to monitor the temperature and some other related factors. The advantage of this particular unit is that it displays a high and low over the previous 24-hour period for both temperature and humidity. That is shown simply as whole values so isn’t as accurate as the main readings, but I do find it useful anyway.
The display is clear to read, and the unit is accurate to within 1c for temperature, and 5% for humidity which is fairly standard for a device like this. It’s worth noting that if you wish to use it with other devices then it’s fairly easy to ‘calibrate’ using the instructions, and this device can be set to replicate the display of another.
There is a small fold-out stand at the back of the device but I find that it stands quite happily without using that, and a small magnetic/adhesive pad is supplied too for mounting on a fixed surface. The only issue I have had is that it did not work at all when I received it, and after checking I found that the supplied battery had failed completely. It is an unusual type (CR2450) but luckily I was able to borrow one from another device in order to test it.
Searon indoor thermometer hydrometer humidity meter, room temperature humidity meter, with high low temperature humidity display, F/C switch comfort scale . 8.75 6.56 1.3 cm , that’s the blurb as on Amazon. What I thought was it arrived quickly the next day. Very well packed on opening you find a nice neat quality made product comprising one indoor thermometer one ccr2450 battery one metal adhesive pad plus a user manual. Easy to set up a nice clear screen with the temperature and wetness on the top , dry and comfort or wet in the middle and the high and low reading’s for the last 24 hours at the bottom great for the house or greenhouse ect could help prevent mold and such if you take action when wet is displayed, an excellent purchase well worth the small cos
Using this in my garage and it seems accurate enough. The display is bold and easy by to read. Can’t complain.
Temp and Humidity display. Good size display, with clear information. Easy guide for humidity. Nice min max feature of you are worried temp has dropped or too high while your away.
Can switch to readings easily.
Small stand on the back and magnet built in. With small stick on metal for maximum range of fitting choices.
Over all, does the job as advertised. Would recommend.
This summer, we realized that something seemed to be off with the temperature readings of one of our Ecobee thermostats and went in search of a thermometer that would also provide humidity data. This established that one of our two Ecobees was reporting incorrect temperature and humidity data.
This thermometer is much smaller than it looks – my fault for not paying attention to the provided measurements – but if you are looking for something large, this is not it.
The thermometer is VERY easy to read and really looks nice; it is well made and functions intuitively to set Fahrenheit/Celsius and to review the voluminous data that it collects. The data includes temperature, humidity, a colored comfort bar (orange is dry, green is comfortable and blue is humid), and records for temperature (left side) and humidity (right side) highs and lows.
The back of the unit has a magnetic surface and it sticks easily to metal, such as a refrigerator. There is a 3M sticker magnet included in the event that you want to mount the thermometer to something that is not metal, such as a wall.
The only issue that I have here is that this uses the rather odd watch button-type battery in the uncommon CR2450 size. The device is smaller than it would have to be to accommodate a AAA or AA battery, but I’d gladly have a larger device and a less expensive battery replacement.
Overall, this functions well, is easy to set and read, and I’m happy to recommend it with the caveats that (i) it is smaller than it appears and (ii) the battery is a non-standard size.
Five Stars.
Nice compact size.
Accuracy is very good.
Easy to read with large digits.
Magnetic back.
Great quality.
The Searon provides the following climate information where the device is located (inside only).
a) Temperature in either C or F (your choice)
b) Humidity percentage
c) Comfort bar divided into 3 sections: Dry (orange), Comfort (green), Wet (blue)
d) High/Low temperature record
e) High/Low humidity record
The digital information on this device uses a Liquid Crystal Display. Because there is no internal lighting, the numbers cannot be seen in darkened lighting conditions.
The screen measures 2″ x 3″. While this is rather small, the digits showing the temperature and humidity are 3/4″ high. They can easily be read from across most any average room. Curiously, the temperature is displayed in degrees and tenths of a degree such as 79.2. I said “curiously” because when the temperature is falling, for example, you would expect the tenths to decrease one digit at a time to give a sense how fast the temperature is changing and in what direction. They do not. As the temperature decrease, the tenths skip numbers or even bounce back and forth between numbers.
What about accuracy? On the back of the device are two control buttons that allow calibration to be performed. However, you need to know what the correct temperature is in order to perform a calibration. One way to do this is to place the device near a room thermostat that controls the temperature in your residence. Thermostats mounted on the wall of a room normally show the ambient temperature and are reasonably accurate. Leave the Searon near the thermostat for about half an hour and compare the two reading. Raise or lower the temperature showing on the Searon to match the thermostat as needed.
The 3 section comfort bar is not as useful as it could be. This is because the colors used in the green and blue sections are dark tones, but the position indicator is black. On my device, the indicator cannot be seen in those two sections from a distance farther than a few feet. Having all colors in lighter pastels would overcome this.
Both the High/Low temperature and humidity records located at the bottom of this device give no indication of what time span they are covering. Apparently, they begin recording these values from the moment the device is first activated. What if I want to know the highs and lows for the month, the week, or just today? There should be a way to clear this memory in order to start a new timeline without having to open the device and disconnect the battery.
The Searon is powered by a 3 volt CR2450 button battery. How long it provides enough voltage to operate this device has yet to be determined.
Everyone, at some time or another, has walked into a room wondering; “What was the temperature or humidity in here like, while I was gone?” Sometimes the reason for doing so is just curiosity; other times it’s because we left a person, animal, or “something else” alone for awhile; and want to ensure the room conditions were not too extreme. Engineers and lab technicians used to use wind-up data recorders, that would use pens to record the temperature & humidity. Searon helps you satisfy your curiosity, with an electronic temperature & humidity monitor; that records the highest & lowest, temperature & humidity readings, over the last 24 hours.
I like that it comes with a magnetic mounting capability. You can either use the included adhesive mounting plate, or simply place it against any magnet-friendly surface. A kickstand is also built into the monitor.
Once you pull out the battery tab and set the measurement units to either Celsius or Fahrenheit; the monitor will start “doing its thing.” You may be alarmed at the initial readings, and start reading the calibration instructions. DO NOT DO IT — Set the unit aside for about 2 hours, and the readings will normalize to the expected values; within the accuracy tolerances, stated in the instructions.
The monitor samples the temperature & humidity once every 20 seconds; and as required, updates the high & low readings at the bottom of the display.
I’m giving this review less than 5 stars, for the following reason(s):
1. The 2 groups of high/low readings at the bottom of the display are NOT labeled, as to which is the temperature and which is the humidity. You are forced to “stare” at the numbers for a few seconds, before figuring out the LEFT group of numbers is for temperature, and the RIGHT group is for humidity.
2. It uses a CR2450 button battery, forcing you to buy yet another kind of exotic battery in onesies & twosies.
