This was bought to replace the lower half of a large timber 8 spoked ‘wind up’ garden parasol (not a tilting one). The whole bottom half had rotted over the years and broken off (twice) in the base.
This was the only thing I could find that offered a solution to dumping the whole thing.
Although the join junction and handle is ‘brass’ , this slots in perfectly. Husband plans to drill a hole in the brass bit so it will allow the dimple on the new part to engage and keep from spinning whilst it is wound up.
It does make the whole thing rather tall, so we may end up shortening it… but I’m still thrilled not to have to replace my favourite garden parasol.
The original on my parasol got bent on a windy day. I thought I would have to replace the whole parasol but searching through Amazon found this replacement. It was exactly like the original and is an ideal replacement.
Thank you for supplying me with a patio umbrella base. It is just the correct size and works great. I know where to come to again.

I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw this on Amazon. The bottom pole of my parasol was damaged late last summer due to a freak gust of wind whilst the canopy was up. I searched everywhere, online, garden centres etc.. without any luck. It would appear that you couldn’t just buy the base pole on its own. This has solved my problem and fits perfectly. I’m even considering buying a spare…just in case.
