Hopefully I’ll only ever have to fit one Ethernet plug on a cat 5 cable. It took about an hour of my life, but that’s down to the plug design, not this product, which worked very well.

It’s not a professional model. Those have stronger, mechanisms, but this was up to the job and the plug hasn’t fallen off since. So, if you’re a casual crumpet, this should serve you well.

Good quality and works as expected. The testing addition in the handles is super convenient. One small improvement would be to add indicator lights on both ends of the testers, instead of just one.

    Good quality

A very useful product for those of us that know how to use them! Product is fairly tight when new and has taken a little while to bed it in. Great at crimping new ends, wire stripper is extremely good and consistent too. Will do most connector variants.

Uvital Cable Crimper/Wire Stripper/Wire Cutter, for CAT3/CAT5/CAT6/RJ45/RJ11/RJ12/DEC/RJ22 Standard and RJ45 Connectors

I’ve been crimping my own cables ever since high school when I took a basic networking class. Frankly, it would be perfectly possible to get by without doing this, but I find the process satisfying. I actually already owned a crimp tool before getting this one, which continues to work absolutely admirably. This one is almost identical to that one, but with the irresistible added extra of a built-in cable tester to let me know whether I’ve beggared up the cable or not.

This cable crimp tool works exactly as I would expect it to. It is an absolute doddle to cut, strip, and crimp a new cable, and the tester sits neatly in the handles without getting in the way of the crimping process.

    I’m very happy with it!

I’ve had cat 5 crimp tools before but this one is actually way better, it does ALL the work for you. It crimps everything all at once. And it also has a cutter and stripped function too for normal sized wire.
I used it for making a few cables and it was night and day easier than the last time I tried to make cables, and all the cables came out working first time. So yeah fully recommend.

Played around on scrap piece for 20 minutes then completed plug wiring worth ease. Good tool. You need to photocopy X 200% the instructions to be able to read them.

I got this as was extending the wired in home network to support areas where even Mesh WiFi wasn’t going to quite cut it.

This tool is great, for a start its sturdy and well made, feels nice in the hand and is comfortable.

It has all the aspects you need to allow you to strip cut and crimp new RJ45 etc connectors onto wire. It handles the job with ease and really works as you would expect.

    Great tool – thanks.

It’s great and easy to use for cutting, stripping and crimping. It is well designed and manageable with one hand. Cuts really well and perfect for stripping wire. It feels comfortable to hold and is good quality product and great value for money.

For the DIY person making up Cat5 or 6 cables this set of crimps makes a great value for money option.

Not only do you get the crimps themselves which, I may add work very well, you also get the means to test the cable you’ve probably cross wired…

Fitted into the handle is a continuity tester that can be left in place if you are making patch leads and have both ends of the cable at hand or if you have run a cable remotely, you can detach them and test in situ.

The quality is decent for what they are and for a value for money option pretty good.

The crimper works great. They work as intended, nice smooth crimp every time. I’ve done probably well over 300 terminations already, the blades to strip the cable are a little TOO good so be careful when stripping but overall not bad!

If you only do occasional crimping and you’re here looking for a budget set of RJ45 crimpers that don’t suck (they do support other plug types but this is exclusively what I use them for personally) – then these fit the bill. They’re better suited to Cat5e and Cat6 than Cat6(A) because the stripping and prepping isn’t really geared for the slightly thicker windings from the extra shielding and what-nots in the proper Cat6A cables. They work fine for setting the plugs, they have a nice smooth mechanical action, they feel weighty and securely assembled. The only nitpick I have is that I simply cannot get the thumb-screw ratchet type mechanism to operate reliable, or at all, most of the time and trying to get it to function causes frustration because it’s erratic and unreliable – it would be super nice if the ratchet doubled as a locking function to keep the handles closed when not in use, but it’s prone to pinging out wildly. This element is not at all critical to the function and for a sub 10 crimping tool it’s a feature I’m willing to forgive at the cost of 1 review star.

I needed to build a wired network at home which meant taking cables through walls and then creating new ends to connect to the routers and wireless access points. I am definitely not a professional but this is a great tool for producing professional results even in the hands of an amateur. It is easy to use and I thought that the price was reasonable (it is not something you need to buy two of). It can do everything that I needed and more.

Great value for money and did the job well. I bought a pair of these (different make and style) for about the same price at Toolstation and they broke after one use so this one is definitely worth it for the price and the fact it doesn’t break after one use.

This is a functional wire stripper and crimper. I successfully used it to repair a network cable that had a broken clip.

The tool is sturdier and of a better quality than the tool I already had. I found the wire cutter easy to use. I used the 6mm cable cutter part to cut the broken end off then I successfully stripped back the insulation off a Cat 5 network cable very easily – just a question of placing the cable in the wire cutter slot and twisting the cable and the tool. It was very easy – easier than using side-cutters. Furthermore, the cable was then the correct length to place inside a RJ45 terminal.

I then used the crimping part of the device to fit a new terminal to the cable. I placed the cable into the terminal, checking the wires were arranged correctly and then crimped the cable to the network connection. It was simply a question of placing the RJ45 cable into the middle holder, inserting the wires and pressing the handle. The cable was then successfully reconstructed.

I only used the RJ45 part of the tool, but have no doubt that this will also work for RJ11 type connections too. In summary, this wire stripper/crimper worked well and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

This is a sturdy made LAN cable crimper.
It is pretty easy to use the crimper and does the job well.
You can crimp the most used RJ-45 LAN cables and the RJ-11 telephone/modem cables with it.
There are other connectors that can be crimped with this tool, but these 2 are the main 2 that are used.
You can cut wire and strip wire as well with this tool.
The handles are comfortable to hold and also there is an integrated detachable wire tester in the handles.
To use the tester you will need 3 LR44 batteries, which are not included.

Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.

This is basically an all-in-one cable/wiring tool if you need to work on CAT3/CAT5/CAT6/RJ45/RJ11/RJ12/DEC/RJ22 Standard and RJ45 Connectors. This is 22.99 at the time of review. It comes with instructions on how to use this tool. The instruction is pretty straightforward.

The tool’s build quality is very good, the handgrip and crimp are very comfortable and easy to control when performing the task. To use the build-in tester, you will need to purchase 3 x LR44 batteries in order to do so. This tool contains so many functions all in one, a really good solution to replace your old tools with this compact one. Base on it’s build, i believe it is a durable one. I will definitely give a tick to this product.

I’ve used posher ones than this, which to be honest were a bit nicer but probably cost for more too (they weren’t mine so I don’t know). However I needed one to terminate a couple of long cable runs at home, and this has proved more than adequate for the job. It’s easy enough to use and quite comfortable. It’s solidly built and seems good quality overall.

Maybe if you’re a professional installer that uses it all day long you might consider spending more but for a few DIY cabling jobs or occasional use I think this is perfectly OK, and great for the price.

This is very multifunctional tool for network cable. This tool is very solid and feels good in hand. It provides stripping cables, cutting them and of course main event, crimping cables. Besides being able to crimp standard RJ45 it have 2 different cavities for 6 pin RJ11-12 and 4 pin RJ22 and this everything in 1 tool. Using it is no different from any other crimping tool. Still doing great job and it is must have if you planning any work on you network in home or if you professional engineer.

I’ve replaced my previous crimping tool in my networking tools pouch because this thing is able to replace two devices: the line checker and the old crimper, all in less space. You will need three button cells (I think L44?) to run the tester, and it doesn’t come with them. But it’s a really solid and smooth crimper that does a nice job and does so in less space.

A tool that has various crimps and cutting/stripping blades? At 13.99 at the time of this review? What’s not to like?

Not a bad tool overall. As the description says, it is capable of all that so I’m not going to rattle on about it all.

General quality then; It does ok. Stripping and cutting blades work, though in true tradition with an inexpensive non-professional tool they can be hit and miss regarding the consistency and and quality. Not overly bad, but most of the time I prefer to use my trusty old cyclops for stripping ethernet! Gives me a more tangible and controllable method in my experience.
Crimps are ok too, if again a bit hit and miss. Like so many cheap RJ45 crimp tools I’ve used I find one of my handy hints is to give the handles a bit of a bouncy-squeeze once closed to ensure it beds the pins into the wires firmly and straight, and securely and evenly locates the cable clip/clamp into place.

If you’ve ever done any crimping of this kind I’m sure you’d appreciate the idea that at this price it’s a welcome addition to my personal tool kit, but I think if you’re a professional fitter then something more “professional” is the way to provide consistency without the element of hit-and-miss causing you to swear a little more often than one would like when you know you have another hundred million RJ’s to fit this week!

I did also notice the product information having a slight error in it; I say slight error with tongue in cheek, have a look at the snip screenshot I made and see if you can spot the glaring obvious error with the Type A and B… Yep, they’re the same picture, Type A! I hope nobody out there has followed this in trying to make themselves a crossover cable!

Overall a good crimp tool as it has a bunch of features that make it a really handy addition to my toolkit, and excellent value at that price, but if you’re a professional fitter it might annoy you one or twice too often and you’ll revert to cyclops and professional crimp tool.

I’ll give it a thumbs up! I hope this has been of help.

Kind of does what it says, it is a bit cheap and cheerful though but does work

The cable cutter is usable of course does certain things I’d like to mention now one being the fact that the actual grip which is the handle part which is in red is not that firm is not that comfortable to hold either and of course you need a lot of force in order to crimp wires and talls and to even break the wires wherever it may be it does take a lot of effort and there’s no comfort in holding the handles they are very thin plastic and it has been moulded on so that’s maybe why I believe that it could be better in that sense they could be more comfortable but it’s very easy to move and take places that you wish to take it and that’s very convenient and it’s very helpful so I could give it a yes for that but in general I think it’s a very strong visible equipment to have Anne is very useful of course the metal has been used to actually mould this into the positions is perfect the variations of different types of sizes and ways you can actually crimp the wires is brilliant and overall I think is a brilliant product and I definitely recommend it.

I installed my own CCTV system however I needed to run the plug through a small hole which meant I have to cut the cable and crimp on the other side. If you have crimper before it can take a few attempts to get it right, however on this occasion I found it worked perfectly and the built in tester is fantastic to know it’s perfect

It’s expensive yes but well worth it and I will be using this over and over again over the years I am sure

A pretty good and cheap crimping tool. Quality is good but not fantastic, has a bit of flex when cutting thick wires or crimping cat6 heads.

Overall though for the price it’s not bad. I would suggest something better if you’re using it every day, but for the odd job it’s good enough!

This is a decent quality basic tool. In my view it represents good value for money, for the occasional / home user.
So far, I’ve only used it to create a few RJ45 cables with Cat 6 cable, and it works pretty well.
It has integrated crimpers for RJ45 and RJ22 connectors, and a couple of sizes of cable cutter (6mm and 12mm). So it is, in a sense, an “all in one” tool.

What this lacks, compared with the more expensive ‘professional’ tools is the integrated crimp & cut function. So this will crimp your network cable, but you’ll have to either have the right length of cable in the plug, or cut off excess afterwards.

My personal experience previously has only been using the integrated crimp & cut type tools, which you just feed the cable through the plug, crimp & it cuts off the excess cable at the same time. This is much easier if you’re making lots of connections (like the last time I upgraded my rack system).

But if you just need a tool to crimp the occasional network cable, this is a much cheaper and very effective option.

My partner and I are renovating and fitting the whole property from top to bottom with hard wire connections for networking and cctv. We were using one crimping tool between us then we got the chance to try this one. What a versatile crimping tool, functionality is superb. Stripping is clean and precise, and crimping is tight but doesn’t break ends. The test functions are so handy, really takes trial and error away from a job, saves time and helps so much with fault finding. The tool my partner is using if he’s at the other end of the house doesn’t have a test function, so he prefers this one too.

I am currently renovating a flat that I will be moving into later in the year. My partner and I are doing the wiring for network and security in the place, laying and burying cables etc and putting plug in ports in every room in a couple of locations. We will then need to configure cables for connection to the cameras etc to lengths that fit exactly, (I call it perfection, my partner calls it fussy) We got a crimping tool kit with a load of connectors a couple of weeks ago but the tool was hit and miss, this one is spot on, decent positive feedback when crimping, you can feel when it’s done properly. Both my partner and I found this tool easier to use than the thin one we had previously. The build quality is amazing, I was not expecting it to be so good. All though we have only been using for RJ45 connectors so far, it also does RJ11/RJ12 and also RJ22. Brilliant tool, brilliant price.

This pair of cable crimpers is great value, and should be all you need to terminate network cables.

There’s a write cutter blade and provision for a wire stripper, as well as the usual crimps for 4/6/8 pin connectors.

In the handles are two removable test units. The master has batteries supplied and a test button. This sends power to the remote which will then illuminate LED’s to show which strands are working. These are great as you can take them out and use one remotely to the other to test existing cables in situ.

It’s all very well made, quite solid with good smooth operation. A quality bit of kit that should last ages.

Good for all ethernet cable installations.

This review is for the Network Cable Cutting Stripping Crimper for CAT3/CAT5/CAT6, RJ45/RJ11/RJ12/DEC, RJ22 Standard, Cuts, Strips and Crimps All Kinds of Modular Plug without Change Modular Die Set

13.99 at the time of review.

I managed to get it to trim the outer sheath of a 12mm cable, but I couldn’t see how you could cut the exposed wires to length as suggested. I splayed the wires into the correct order, then used a wire cutter to level the ends to the same length then carefully fed them into an RJ45 plug. The one I use was a closed end plug — it would have been easier with a pass-through plug, but then that is a review for another time.

That done, I inserted the RJ45 plug into the crimper and squeezed the handle together. Job done and a good connection on pulling the cable to check. My only criticisms are that I can’t fathom out how to use the trimmer to trim narrower cables to length and the handles won’t stayed closed as they should which means that it takes up more room in a toolbag/toolbox.

All in all though, this is a quality item and a good price for a tool that you can’t do without if you need one. It is strong and seems to be well made, and although the price has gone up again, I’ll still give this crimping tool 4 stars, knocking one off since it won’t stayed closed.

I’ve used a bunch of cable crimpers in my time and this is right up there.

Feels solid and the longer handles make it very easy to get a firm connection. (Doesn’t make it any easier to align the wires obviously – wish there was something that would do that!)

You can get sets with crimpers and connectors for not much more, but this is probably good enough to warrant getting on its own and then pick up the sleeves and ends separately – they’re not that dear.

Obviously, and you’ll know how obviously if you’ve done it, this won’t work with the Cat 7, flat cables, which require a whole different set-up, which probably isn’t worth it. I quite like the flat cables but only buy them pre-made. Making bespoke flat cables is a pain in the behind and pretty much unnecessary for 99.9% of jobs.

    Good crimper!

The crimping tool arrived safely, and it comes in well-illustrated retail packaging. The included network tester requires 3x LR44 batteries, which sadly are not included in the kit.

Although this is quite an expensive crimper its far superior in every way compared with my cheaper one that I’ve had for a few years now. Everything is well put together using good quality parts, it’s got a nice weight to it, and the rachet mechanism operates nice and smoothly. I would have liked softer handles to aid grip and comfort, but the plastic grips work simply fine. I am pleased with the overall quality of this crimper.

The tool came at the perfect timing as I’m currently installing ethernet in my garden office and I wanted to keep the drill holes as small as possible, so I needed to create my own network cables and add the connectors after I had fed the cables through the wall. I bought some Cat 6 cable and matching RJ45 connecters and found this tool very easy to use. The 8 small teeth on the crimper are cut precisely and slot into the connectors perfectly which my old tool didn’t always do. The built-in cutting blades are very sharp, and it was easy to remove the cable sheath using them.

The cable tester also works great, you can either run a single test or a multiple one and the display is easy to read and understand. Thankfully, the user guide is written well enough and does a good job of explaining how to use both the crimper and network tester.

Overall, I think this is an excellent cable crimper that’s good quality, works nicely and it seems durable enough to last for a decent amount of time and get a lot of use from it. For these reasons I feel it does represent good value for money although including the batteries for the network tester would have been nice. It’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel its worth the full five stars, buy with confidence!u

This is a conventional ratchet crimper that feels robust. Unlike the HS-N568CR from the same manufacturer, a user manual is not included, nor does it have an integral cable tester. RJ45 plugs fit snugly – I’m not using pass-through – and, sheath and cores are trimmed cleanly .

These are a decent quality set of crimpers overall and do the job well for it’s price. The ratchets feel solid and well lubricated. The handles are comfortable and the tool has a good weight to it.

I like that the testers in the handle unclip and can be taken out, it’s a nice added bonus but i’m not sure how often I’d use this. The testers require batteries and do feel quite poor quality if I’m honest. They’re cheaply made and i already have a more expensive tester that i use myself.
They’ll be handy in an emergency though so definitely worth keeping around.

This tool is brilliant if you are putting together network cables. It’s such a fiddly job as the wires are so small and getting them into the little socket is a nightmare especially when your eyesight is not as good as it was. So how does it work. I’ve tried to show the steps in my photos and I’m writing this as a person with no past experience of using this type of tool. Firstly you take your cable and insert in the hole next to where it says strip length ( 6 and 12 mm cable). Close the handles and it cuts the cable to length leaving the wires inside ready for fit into the socket. Without opening the handles you pull the cable and it leaves behind the bit you’ve cut off. Then you get your little socket and pop it into the hole that’s the correct size at the top of the tool. There are three holes that take 8 different sizes of modular plugs and my hubby says it fits all the sockets that we currently have so pretty standard. Then you feed in the little wires at the end of your cable, squeeze the handles and it crimps them into position. Job done! You now have a complete network cable. It’s a well made kit, feels robust and comfortable in the hand. Personally I found it easier to use with two hands as it’s quite heavy. Think that’s just the size of my hands as my hubby can easily use it one handed. It does mean I can now construct my own network cables easily and cheaply and put new sockets on any that get damaged. We use network cables so often nowadays it’s a useful addition to any tool box and I’d happily recommend this.

Makes a fiddly job so easy.

My old crimpers that I used for the standard RJ45 plugs had become unusable due to wear so I ordered these as a replacement.
These are a well made, solid and easy to use crimper, the blades are sharp and the crimping pins are precise. When holding these ready for use I found that the handles were comfortable and didn’t press into my hands at all. You can also use these for telephone lines but that’s not something that I do so for me these are just for RJ45 cables.
These will cut the cable to length and strip the insulation then finally crimp the plug to the cable. You can’t use these for the passthrough type connectors, only the standard ones but since I have a good set already for the passthrough type this wasn’t a problem for me.
Closing the device after use is always a bit hit and miss for me with this type of unit as you need to just squeeze the handles enough too close but just a little to far will open them up again however most crimpers seem to be the same and I usually end up just leaving them open, lol.
These are very good quality at this price point and should last a nice long time.
    Great value crimpers,

This is a good quality wire stripper/crimper. It is very sturdy and sits comfortably in either left or right hand. It has a built in connection tester which requires LR44 batteries (not included). Stripping wire is a breeze. Simply insert the wire and close the handle to the required depth (it will be held at that depth via a ratchet mechanism). A big plus for me as I am forever cutting right through cables when I only want to strip the flex.

While this is marketed as a network cable cutter/stripper, you can use this for anything to be honest! It has a fantastic step mechanism with the handle, whereby when you press it gets stuck at a level, you then need to press harder to go to the next level etc. This means that you have great control over how small the hole for cutting or stripping is – you can put it in basically any wire and it will work!

This has some serious weight to it – much more than I was expecting! This is a good thing as you know it’s made from quality materials and is a quality product.

It feels like you should be able to lock the handles together somehow, but there doesn’t seem to be any way of doing this. Looking through the product description, this doesn’t actually appear to be a feature so maybe mine isn’t broken and there actually isn’t a way of doing this!

    Overall, brilliant and would recommend!

    Brilliant, very versatile!

    arrived in good time.
however the packaging wasn’t in one piece, and nothing holding the tool to the card.
it seems well made, however it is very heavy and bulky.
getting the handles to stay together (for storage) is a bit finicky.
if you are likely to use this alot, then go for it, but if you are just after something to do one or two cables, i would recommend something much more light weight.

This is a well made crimper. Arrived well packed with good instructions. There are no batteries supplied so they need to be obtained. This crimper seems to be well made, and has been made for both left and right handed up. Nice touch that.
Can crimp telephone and ethernet cables. The cutting blades are replaceable.
As said needed to add 3x LR44 batteries to use the built in tester but once did thus is a good addition.
A good if a little expensive addition to toolbox.

Good crimpers all round, I’ve crimped a lot of RJ45 ends in my life and used many crimpers and these are comparable to any I’ve used that are above the 12/15 mark, they all do the job. Looking at these, the grips are good and feel solid in the hand and the ratchet does it’s job well. They seem well made and lubricated so there is no stiffness.
The built in handle grip testers are a novelty that I’ve not seen before which I didn’t think I’d use as I have many sets of more expensive testers but I put some batteries in anyway and found that although the testers are really basic they unclip easily so you can use them separately to test the pins across wiring ends as well or patch panel joins.
Now I wouldn’t use them for testing a cable installation or anything but not having to go to the van for a quick test with these in the tool carry pouch is a massive bonus. The testers do feel flimsy though so don’t know how long they will last.
The price puts me off as you could get some cheap testers and crimpers for a similar price but having that emergency built in pair has swayed me to use these.
    I can recommend these.

Great value for money. It’s not something that is used a lot so I can see this lasting many decades. Built well with good weight to it. Ideal for all tool kits

Suitable for for CAT3/CAT5/CAT6/RJ45/RJ11/RJ12/DEC/RJ22 Standard and RJ45 Pass-Thru Connectors.

Good crimper but my husband does have other cheaper crimpers that do the job just as well.

Network Cable Cutting Stripping Crimper for CAT3/CAT5/CAT6, RJ45/RJ11/RJ12/DEC, RJ22 Standard

The Price was 12.99 at the time of the review.
It seems to well manufactured and labelled as Professional and reassuringly heavy.
If you have ever repaired an internet cable you will know how difficult it is to do this with the 8 wires needing to be fed into the fitting which is extremely difficult with the normal connectors.
I have a 30 metre long Cat 5e cable with a damaged fitting.
If it was just a short cable it is hardly worth repairing them but this would involve lifting carpets so I am going to use this tool to change it.
I have been practicing on some old cable and out of 3 only 1 has been succesful due to the connector design.
It is easier to buy pass through connectors where you feed all 8 wires through , crimp and then cut off the excess.
This tool works perfectly doing the job it was designed for
As sometime happens during crimping a RJ45 connector will jam and there is a small circular release mechanism which is in my opinion a bit too small difficult to turn to release the ratchet.
This same thing is supposed to lock the tool closed but only works very intermittently so most of the time the tool is sprung open.
Other reviewers have mentioned the same problem so it is not because mine is faulty.
It is annoying so reduced to 4 stars.

Ethernet cables uses a RJ45 connector that has 8 pins. Pin 1 is on the left hand side while holding the connector with the tab facing away from you.

Well manufactured , does the job perfectly but can't always close the handles after use.

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. This crimper seems to be well made, and has a particularly good fit and finish, with no burred edges from the meal stamping process.
It has replaceable blades for the stripping portion, and can crimp both telephone and ethernet cables.
The built in tester is handy, but not as useful as a separate unit. It takes 3x LR44 batteries, which are not included (at least not in the sample I got..). The handle is moulded for both left and right handed operation – a nice consideration, although they are just a smooth plastic, which could be slippery in certain situations.
Retailing at 22.99 it is more expensive than similar crimpers on the market, but this one has the built in tester, which cheaper options don’t: it depends whether this facility is useful to you or if you have your own stand-alone tester. Nevertheless, a well manufactured and well thought-out tool.

This is a good, strong, durable, heavy-duty connector. The ratchet and release work well, It’s a decent tool.

These work really well, They are nice and tight in the action and even have a ratchet system in place! Not really required but still a nice touch. I made off two plugs, albeit, I wasted one but was my first attempt. The lead didn’t work straight away, so I plugged in an ethernet cable to check the function of my LAN port. All good, so went back to my plug, put it right inside the die, this time and squeezed the handle. It compressed the pins properly. So there you have it, human error and first time user!

Where you can go wrong is if you are not careful when trimming and aligning everything. Putting aside the obvious that you could get the wires in the wrong order, you have to pay very special attention to the wires all lining up when inserted into the socket. Sometimes one or two of the tiny wires can sit back further in the socket than the others, which would cause a missed or poor connection when crimped. You have to meticulously check all the wires are fully in and in the right order before crimping, and then check again after that nothing has moved. Also check you fully insert the cable into your device to get a proper connection.

I can honestly say this tool impressed me with its build quality and apparent sturdiness. I can’t comment on its long term reliability but I accomplished my work with no problems.

This was ordered for my husband to add to his tool kit.

We are having work done on our home for a better security system.

The crimper looks and feels good quality. Its a bright yellow colour so easy to fid amongst all the other tools!

The handle is comfortable to hold and ergonomic so it helps with the squeezing, and it cuts with ease.

    Overall a good quality tool.

This is made to a reasonable standard and works well, in the limited trials I’ve given it so far. All I’ve done is to put a RJ45 patch cable together. Figuring out how to use it took a bit of trial and error but then it did a good job of cutting, stripping and crimping. It’s comfortable in the hand and appears to be durable, if heavy at about 500g. An irritation is that it doesn’t lock fully closed, but I can live with that.

At 12.99 (only 11.89 until last week!), this seems good value for casual use.

This crimping tool from HS is especially useful as it enables you to crimp a whole array of modular plugs including:RJ45’s,RJ11/RJ12 and RJ22,also suitable for crimping CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable. The tool is also capable of cutting and stripping cable.
The compartments where the plugs are positioned for crimping are very clear and it easy to identify what goes where. For exmaple the RJ45 plugs would fit in the middle compartment where it clearly states 8P-i.e 8 pair.
The handle are very solid and ergonomic to hold and the crimpo tool is coloured yellow and black.
I am going to deduct 1 star though to give an overall rating of 4 stars as despite my best endeavours I have been unable to lock the crimp tool for storage after you have finished using it.The tool should just lock into place with a swivel of the release catch in the right direction,or lock into place once the handles are compressed.Unfortunately ,the handles remain in the open position, which means this crimp tool, takes up too much space in my tool bag.

I was very skeptical about this product as many of the reviews were by those given a free unit, but can confirm it’s a well built piece of kit. I was using it to terminate RJ11 connectors and worked perfect. Just the right amount of force to fix the connector.

I use an expensive ratchet set at work, and to be quite honest while you do miss the ratchet, as long as you commit and squeeze tight it’s not a problem.
So all in all these do the job and seem to do it well. They engage both plastic grips and all the contacts as expected.
For the price, they are a bargain!

This is an excellent cable crimping and cutting tool for networking applications. The tool is sturdy, the ethernet crimpers work well, as does the cutting and stripping tool (I haven’t tried the phone line tool as I don’t have a line).

If it is good value compared to the competition I would give it five stars – there is no price at the time of review so I am unsure about value for money.

I’ve got quite a few network cable crimpers, being always on the hunt for the perfect set (for me, they have always tended to either not crimp at all, or crunch down the tab on the connector so the plug won’t stay locked into the port, both of which are really frustrating).
This set were excellent, from the initial ethernet cable cutting, to stripping the cable (the same pair of sharp razor blades built into the tool handle both of these tasks easily), to crimping the wire onto the cable. On completion of the task, I finished up with a professional looking finish and a cable that that passes through a tiny hole in a wall to go from a router to a Smart TV – result.
I haven’t tried the 6 pin phone crimping aspect, since we don’t have a phone cable in the house anymore. The only thing that’s a bit clunky is the wire retainer that prevents the tool from inadvertently springing apart. The retainer does its job effectively, but many other sets that I’ve tried have a retaining clip built into the handles such that they can’t easily be lost. if a wire clip is the price I pay for a tool that does its job well, though, I’m happy to pay that price!
I’d recommend these to anyone who is looking to put together (or repair) an Ethernet cable.
