My brother is using this for his rose Bush, doing well so far keeping the plant warm
Excellent quality, though there are better designs out there for a bit more money, with zips. What you need to now is that these will let moisture through so no need to worry about watering your plants, as rain will get through. These will protect from freezing, but it may weigh the plants down and change its shape, so do consider supporting these bags at the top – hook into trellis or tuck to the fence, so there is no unnecessary weight on the branches. Other than that – great quality and value for money!
These are good bags and fleeces for what they are. The material isnt too thick, it allows light through while keeping off the rain. My only issue is they are gigantic. Imagine a double bed sheet, X2.
These are probably only best for big taller fruit trees. They also have a drawstring around the bottom which should help make it windproof.
I put this on a banana tree I have to help protect it over the winter. Its way too big and may end up being a giant windsock or blowing away in a storm. I didn’t really need it but it felt like a good thing to test it on.
Overall I would recommend these if you’re protecting a giant valuable tree that susceptible to frosts. But it may be a bit expensive if you’re just using it for basic amateur gardening use.
These arrived quickly and well packaged. Now that it is winter I have a few plants that need protecting from the frost and these bags do a perfect job of covering them up.
The bags are easy to fit over my plants and they still allow the plant to breathe whilst preventing dampness.
The quality is good for the price and they feel like they should last through the winter. My only worry is how battered they will get but so far they have withstood the recent gale winds and torrential rain.
Overall I think they are good value for money and would recommend.
These two fleece bags are large enough to cover my ornamental trees. It is not cold enough to warrant using them yet but I have made sure they fit and they are a very good size. I like the drawstring that can tighten around the trunks. The fleece is breathable so should be perfect to use throughout the night to prevent frost damage, but they are a little thinner than others I have ordered. I think the low price reflects that.
This fleece plant protector is excellent and I’m really happy with how well it covers the dwarf palm trees I have in my garden. It’s easy for me to use and put over the plants and I like that they will be protected over the winter. I think it is a good quality material that’s strong, sturdy and durable. I’m not worried it’ll rip or tear easily and I’m confident it’ll do a good job at protecting my plants over the winter. I think the value for money is very good and I do recommend it.
Despite being quite thin these fleeces are really good quality, its very strong and large enough to do a good job of protecting the plants. I’m very pleased with the fleece and I’m happy to recommend it.
I have quite several varieties of dahlia and roses so now that the weather is changing, I worry about protecting them from winter frost. Ordinarily, I’d use bubble wrap and old pieces of fabric so I was keen to give these fleece plant protectors a try.
Most of my dahlia’s and roses are still flowering although obviously coming to the end of their season so I’m not ready to completely cover them but I have tried these covers on for size. The covers feel really good quality and are made from a lovely thick fleece. They are actually a lot bigger than I was expecting so will do great on my rose shrubs but I’ll maybe have to buy smaller covers for my dahlia plants. There is a zip along the side which makes fitting them to plants really convenient and also a drawstring at the bottom to secure the bag in place to the stem or around the pot.
Given that we’re not into the frosty season just yet, I can’t comment on how well they’ll protect the plants but based on the quality of the fabric and how well they fit around the plants, I don’t anticipate any real issues and am already looking to purchase more! Definitely recommended
I was really pleased to be offered this item as I’ve got a lovely little Edgeworthia tree which I know will be needing some frost protection as winter draws in. As it’s a tree (albeit a small one) I went for the largest size available – what a shock I got when I opened it and found a veritable duvet cover!!! It still turned out to be a good shout though, as it’s big enough to protect the Edgeworthia as well as any other tender plants I may have that need a little bit of extra help to survive the winter. This cover is cleverly designed with a drawstring at the base and a zip in the side, so you can just pop it over the top, gather in the bottom, and still have access to the contents as necessary. It’s so clever that I will be putting mine on double duty as frost protection in winter, then covering my unruly blueberries in the summer to protect them from bird theft. Although this is wind- and frost-proof, it does still allow light and moisture through so your plants should still be getting what they need with that bit of added protection. Because the item is described as “thickened polypropylene fleece” I was surprised how thin it feels. I’ve never used these before so didn’t have a good basis for comparison and was expecting the fabric to feel much heavier. However, a friend who is a professional gardener assures me that even the lightest of coverings will help to guard against frost damage and these should be more than up to the task. Although we haven’t yet had the weather to test them, I am impressed with what I understand of them so far and expect them to serve me well in the garden.
This twin pack pf fleece were good value and easy to put on. Make sure you undo. It is reasonably strong but the zipper is the weakest point. If you catch the fleece on a branch or similar putting it on be gentle with it as the zipper could pull away from the fleece material. I did that to one of them and pulled the zipper away a couple of inches but that was down to my manhandling!
These horticultural fleece bags are ENORMOUS!! And that’s no bad thing because I have several date palms and banana plants I’ll be wrapping up this winter. I hadn’t tried this brand before but I’m really impressed, the quality is excellent, thick and well made, more than enough to keep the winter frost off of my prized garden beauties through the winter. I did a practice run on one of my date palms today and it worked just great to wrap it up neatly – whilst still allowing enough light in through the fleece to keep them healthy. Highly recommended!
Robust plant covers with a zip and drawstring fastening at the bottom.
Handle the bad weather with ease and protect your plants from the harsh cold and frost.
Good value for money and well made so should last through many adverse seasons.
These frost protection sleeves do the job they are meant to do. They are well made and fit the pots with plants I need to protect during colder winter months. It’s a good value considering the size of this set. I can recommend these for anyone who has plants in the garden that require protection for winter.
I used similar bags last season and ghey did great job. This year, before cold kick off i will use these new bags as well as the old ones to cover up my trees, each about 70cm tall now, so not very big. These bags are brilliant. They have zip on side and drawstring on the bottom to secure each bag. I used an extra string to fasten around the pot so I will have piece of mind on windy day, hopefully it will hold the bag from flying away..
Bags are very good quality and I’m very happy with them. They are bright in colour so light still reaches the plants. They are also breathable as the plant needs to breathe. Bags gives good protection from frost and from last year experience I can say that plants nicely survived the winter but we didn’t have many nights bellow zero. Who knows what the weather will be like this year but fingers crossed, will not be that cold.
I have very recently purchased 2 olive trees and having being quite the newbie to owning them
I read as much as I can about them and realised I’d be needing some protection for them as I’m planning on keeping them outdoor this winter.
There are 2 in a pack and are made from very good quality thick fleece that protects plants from frosty and cold.
They are fairly large in size (larger than I was expecting) and I have ample enough room for the trees in. They’d definitely fit over larger plants and shrubs than my olive trees.
They have a side zip which is a very handy for covering large items as it saves you climbing up a ladder to try and drop down on top of the plant.
They have a drawstring base so that you can tighten up to the trunk or plant pot depending on how you’ve got it planted. My trees are in plant pots and they were easy to affix around the top of the pots.
I can’t yet attest to how well they’ll protect the plants during differing weather conditions, but we have already experienced some cold and windy weather (as well as rain) and touch wood they do seem to be aiding in the olive trees being able to survive.
I’m hopeful they’ll also protect them from frost when the weather turns even colder this winter.
They are great value for money as it’s clear that they are well made.
You get two of these frost protectors in a pack they are quite strong one covered my miniature cherry tree which probably stand at about 5’6 from the ground upwards the fiddliest thing was getting the draw string cord over the top of it and in place so that you could secure the almost full length zip but once everything in place its so easy to zip cover up and pull drawstring cord to required tightness and its done and protected from the frost really good idea lightweight but fairly thick for frost protection the other cover i will use to put 2 jasmine potted bushes in as there will be ample room much better than covering with a sheet as if its windy they wont blow off as they are nice and secure would recommend these for the winter months they’re would actually be a good idea to use for storing garden furniture cushions in to
I ordered this to protect my orange tree which has grown rather large and I’m planning to keep outdoor this winter. It’s a very good quality thick fleece that protects plants from frosty and cold. It has a side zip which is a very handy for covering large items as it saves you climbing up a ladder to try and drop down on top of the plant. It has a drawstring base so that you can tighten up to the trunk or plant pot depending on how you’ve got it planted. Mines in the ground. Well designed and well thought out, much better than some of the previous fleeces I’ve bought which in the past I’ve had to double over due to them being so thin. This one is so thick that I don’t think I’ll need to do that.
What a great product, thicker than the usual fleece jackets. It’s huge. I going to make a few smaller jackets, once I’ve covered up my banana plants for the winter. Really pleased with this product.
Now that autumn is here we are days away from our first frost. I have decided to use this for the palm trees we have in pots on the patio. The bags were easy to fit over and they still allow the plant to breathe and will stop any sweating or dampness. The quality is good but I can imagine by the end of the cold season they will need to be replaced so they should be fine for the winter and at these prices you can buy them again.
