As winter’s chilly embrace approaches and the daylight hours dwindle, our need for reliable illumination becomes all the more crucial. The VIPITH Chest LED Lamp has proven to be an indispensable tool for those of us who venture into the darkness. When I first considered purchasing this product, I had reservations about investing in a device I thought I would only use for brief nightly runs a few times a week during the winter months. However, the VIPITH Chest LED Lamp surprised me with its versatility and functionality, making it an excellent addition to my gear collection.
Here are the aspects of the VIPITH Chest LED Lamp that I appreciate:
Comfortable Fit and Reflective Straps: The adjustable strap comfortably accommodated my 44-inch chest, ensuring a secure and snug fit. The inclusion of reflective straps adds an extra layer of safety, making you more visible to others while on your outdoor adventures.
Impressive Brightness: The VIPITH Chest LED Lamp boasts a remarkable 500 lumens of brightness, illuminating your path effectively and ensuring you can see clearly in the dark.
Multiple Light Intensity Settings: The device offers three different light intensity settings — high, low, and strobe. This versatility is perfect for adapting to various situations, whether you need to light up a pitch-black trail or signal for help in an emergency.
Adjustable Beam Angle: The adjustable beam angle is a fantastic feature for those looking for flexibility in their lighting setup. It allows you to focus the light where you need it most, whether you’re reading a map, changing a tire, or simply jogging along your route.
Waterproofing: The waterproofing feature adds an extra layer of reassurance. Knowing that the VIPITH Chest LED Lamp can handle a bit of rain means you can rely on it in less-than-ideal weather conditions.
Exceptional Value: One of the standout features of this product is its affordability. When compared to other similar products on the market, the VIPITH Chest LED Lamp offers an outstanding balance between price and performance.
In summary, the VIPITH Chest LED Lamp is a versatile and cost-effective lighting solution that can light your way during winter runs, camping trips, or even in emergency situations like car breakdowns. Its comfortable fit, bright illumination, multiple settings, adjustable beam angle, and waterproofing all contribute to its excellence. I wholeheartedly recommend the VIPITH Chest LED Lamp to anyone in need of a reliable source of light during the darker months. It’s a valuable addition to your outdoor gear, and you’ll find yourself reaching for it more often than you might expect.
Really like the brightness of the lights – I ran in the dark on a club meeting on a very stormy and wet night recently and was genuinely impressed by how bright the lights were. However, my one concern was that after about 3km, I had to retighten becuase it slipped out of position, the straps lenghtened themselves and the light ended up in my armpits. Happened a few times before I was back at the meeting point which was somewhat fristrating. Will give it a few more goes before deciding whether or not I need to return to using a headtorch.
I was surprised to find these supplied with a flat battery, but they were soon charged and ready for use.
The front light was bulkier than I expected, but the reflective straps and clear lights will clearly add to ones safety when outside at night, whether running or otherwise.
The lights are on high, on dim, or flashing… the on off switch is on the front light and both the front and rear lights operate and adjust simultaneously, at all times.
Charging is via a usb cable attached to the base of the rear light, with the on/off switch on the top of the front light. The front light has a bracket to allows its beam to be adjusted up or down, as needed. All 3 front bulbs operate when it’s switched on (you cannot switch on less than all front bulbs).
When charging, the rear light indicates its state of charge by how many of the lower LED’s are lit.
As they’re LED’s connected to a good rechargeable cell. battery life should be plentiful.
All in all, a great safety item, so it’s 5* from me.
I got this to take my dogs walking in the winter, because I’m always walking them in the dark after work and wanted to have a light on me, as well as on them.
The light is really bright and you’ll be easy to see where you’re going with ease (the front has two brightness settings, and a flashing option (which is definitely not recommended). I love having a back light too, so you’ll be seen from both directions. It’s easy to put on and the bands being elastic mean you can get it to fit so that the light sits comfortably. I also like that it’s chargeable, so I don’t have to mess with batteries.
The only thing I’m not keen on is the cable. I didn’t appreciate from the image how big or intrusive the cable is. It’s also easy to catch on things. I think it would have been better if each of the lights had a separate integrated battery (which I know raises other problems), or better still if the cable were integrated into the straps.
Overall though a very good quality product that will help to keep me safe from traffic as the days get shorter.
With it turning into winter here in the UK, I decided to pick up this light so that I can continue to run in the dark.
I would say that the front light is plenty bright enough to light up the area you are running into and the light on the back is bright enough that you can be easily seen in the distance.
When I first put this on, I wasn’t sure how comfortable it would be. I typically prefer vest-style running accessories, and this fits over just one shoulder. After a few minutes though, I quickly forgot it was on and have been running the past few minutes very comfortably.
I think this is a nice safety addition to your dark morning/night runs.
This comes fully charged and ready to use. I found it easy to fit and adjust. The light has three settings – bright, lower brightness and flashing. These light settings are mirrored in the red triangle light on the back. The button to switch between settings is easy to use, even wearing gloves, as it is positioned on the top of box which is on the chest light.
The front light can be angled in various positions, from straight ahead to pointing towards the floor.
The straps are also reflective, so cars can see those as well as the light.
It was easy to charge using the enclosed USB cable. The amount of charge remaining is also easily viewed by the number of red lights showing on the back, so you can make sure you are never left in the dark.
As it is lightweight I would think this would also be useful for running and will keep you safer.
A good value item that will get lots of use over the darker months.
If you want to be seen in the dark, you’ve basically got all-round lighting with these Rechargeable Running Lights and Fluorescent Bands. I like to get my Runs done first thing in the morning, so this time of year when the clocks are about to go back in the UK, it’s dark whilst I’m out. My Wife always tells me to be careful and make sure I can be seen, so most of the time I find myself running with a torch in my hand and wearing some fluorescent armbands – However, this isn’t ideal and sometimes I end up dropping the torch. With the set-up of this new particular device I’ve purchased, you have a bright front and back light around breastbone level which are attached via fluorescent bands – These bands wrap around your waist and over a shoulder. Because of this, you can be seen in the dark from almost every angle – Brilliant! The only slightly negative thing I can find about it, is sometimes the shoulder strap does rub against my neck and I have to keep moving/adjusting it? However, apart from this it’s Great and is Light to Wear, Waterproof, Stable, Bright and feels pretty Durable. The front white light is also Adjustable (up and down) and for the cost of just 14.99, I really don’t know how they can make it for this price? – Therefore, I feel it represents Very Good Value for money. Overall, I’m Happy with it and it’s become part of my regular running gear! Thank you.
At a push, 500 lumens is suffice for cyclists in urban settings but 600 and above is preferred for regular nighttime cycling in rural settings. For walkers/runners/fisherman and especially dog walkers, the minimum setting of 350 lumens is ample and can spot a distance of around 60m. 500 lumens is plenty to light up ahead …. just don’t blind your pet !
Run time is around 5 hours max in low power mode (350 lumens) and around 3 hours in high power mode (500 lumens). The charge time is around 5 hours. There is a 3rd lighting mode of “strobe” which will increase the running time.
The headtorch itself has an adjustable band around the head with a second band going over the top of the head. It is reasonably comfortable though I wear mine over a beanie.
I especially like this for dog walking late at night and the 3 hour capacity is more than ample. For this alone it is perfect and fully deserves the 5 star rating.
For under fifteen quid this isn’t bad overall, but it is a cheap and cheerful version.
It’s quite plasticky, and power button looks like you could pull the rubber nub out of it, thus it’s not really sealed, and the plastic casings all have that tell tale plastic edging on them that looks cheap.
Ok, that aside; It works fine enough. Easy to fit as the many running lights are these days, and the straps are adjustable. I also like that the front light can be tilted.
Brightness is ok too, but not as bright as branded (more expensive) models, but bright enough.
The rear light also gives great visibility with the red triangle.
So overall I have been stuck between giving it three stars as it’s “ok, if rather cheap and cheerful” and the four stars “it doesn’t cost a lot and does work pretty well”… so I’m going with the four-star “it doesn’t cost a lot and does work pretty well”.
I hope this has been of help 🙂
So I like how well this sits against my body, the straps are adjustable, so I can tighten them putting the back plate of the lamp firmly against my body, and then using the “Tilt” function of the Lamp, I can get the light shinning exactly where I want, which is very cool because I can do that without needing to use my hands to hold anything afterwards.
The bands that go around my body have a decent elasticity, and the colour is spot on, very bright and easy to see, and the reflective strips “Reflect light” from headlights etc very well, and give a very clear sign that I am there.
The 3 bulbs on the front, produce a good light, that is more of a “spotlight” I would say. There is some “Filler” light, that goes out to the sides, and illuminates the peripheral slightly, but it’s the main beam that carries forward by way of a Spotlight style beam, and it can go for a decent amount of distance, having the option of “High” & “Low” beams is nice, with the addition of a “Flashing” mode, and the difference is very noticeable.
The rear of the unit has a nice “Red” LED warning light, by way of a “Triangle” which is further illuminated with an additional line underneath it, which all in all makes me very nicely visible in my opinion.
The build feel good to me, the main unit is solid, with a button on the top that presses with some tactile feedback on the soft “Siliconised” button, and a nice audible “Click”, both the front and the rear light come on when the button is used, which I like because there is no messing about it’s just the 1 button to activate both lights.
The rear section also feels pretty solid, the body shell feels tough, and the LED cover is well attached, and feels solid.
I’ve been using this to take the dogs out at night, I find it perfect because I can use both of my hands for their leads, and still have a nice, bright, and well placed light source on at all times.
