Great idea for pets ..or for if you are going out .Place it in your window you can see everything /anyone coming up your path
Works well just not sure why sd card I can’t save stuff without signing up to something I don’t wa
Great picture, once you click the right link from the QR codes it’s simple set up and almost instant watching yourself.
Only had it on since last night, just logged into it from work, checked the house was still there! Perfect.
Good picture quality, decent audio, ideal.
Fantastic picture quality, easy to set up with phone app. Great for keeping an eye on our old dog while at work
The sound seems a little muffled when you speak into the cameras even when no music and there is silence it isn’t very good, camera quality is great and so is the 360 view. Also the SD card I had fits and is enough space to save videos. Only concern is the speaking to speak to the device is abit poo
Can’t believe how good this is, can see day or night, it follows my dog and saves videos/photos to my phone and sends alerts to my phone of movements or noise. Has helped alot with looking after my pregnant dog. Great purchase thx
Great camera for the price .clear pictures and the options to stream in 480,720 or 1080p. All give great picture clarity. I have no bad pixelation issues.
Motion detection can sometimes be a bit off but really not often – not worth being an ‘issue’.
Please see my screengrab s for pic quality in 480p ( the most basic).
I’m super happy and will definately purchase more of these .
Definately recommended
Its worth to spend money. only issue i had it did not record on the external SD card. Even i was able to format the SD card and local storage was external SD card. I am not sure how dose it work.
got this to monitor boiler in loft and it works well in low/no light. App is easy to use and camera set up at first attemp
I wouldn’t say this is the perfect camera, but a camera for this price is phenomenal. So easy to set up, so easy to use, a lot of settings at your disposal; really good for the price. I have mine set up in my flat and when I leave I turn off the ‘privacy mode’ so it can record whilst I’m away. Good quality videos with a wide lens. You don’t have to pay for cloud storage as you can store it locally and access the videos through the app so easy. Sometimes the app gets a bit buggy and notifications don’t appear unless you refresh them on the app, but tends to happen for a few hours and then it’s back to normal with instant notifications when it detects motion. Would recommend this camera
A good indoor camera for baby or pet monitoring (also ideal for small business reception area).
The camera is smaller than I expected it to be, which isn’t a bad thing as it’s little and light so very easy to install. Having the 360 motion and the WiFi option make it an easy to use and extremely helpful little tool when wanting to monitor a specific space that’s too large for a standard camera.
Setup was straightforward, with everything good to go in minutes. The only negative I can think of is that in modern tech 1080p is actually starting to feel lacking for some situations and a higher resolution is needed.
Overall a great little camera with some great features that are usually only found on higher end devices.
I brought this to watch my new puppy while I was out.i had seen many more expensive models so I gave it a try and I wasn’t disappointed.it is a brilliant little gadget. I brought another one to put in a different room.it is easy to set up and install on my phone.i recommended this to a friend who was equally impressed.
Easy to set up on WiFi, using my mobile I can now observe with great clarity and save the video for review later, easy to control the camera with the required app from the app store, able to also quickly use the microphone to talk to partner, sound quality is dependant upon your connection but 4g works well enough
This is really good has clearer night vision than I expected too has motion detection and good picture quality. Very impressed with i
I took a risk on this item with it being an unknown brand and I have to say it has delivered. Set up was straight forward and they come with a handy ceiling/wall bracket to fix it up with. The video quality is good and it will take seemingly any size micro sd card, so you can store a large amount of playback if so required. I ended up buying 2 more of these and have a network in my home now so I can check on my elderly cat when I’m out of the house. Also very handy for security as well of course.
I didn’t know there was a higher picture quality version of this camera. On eBay they’re the same price as the 1080p camera here on Amazon.
Otherwise, it’s fine. Stores all the recordings for viewing very well, using an SD card. Everything works fine without paying any extra for cloud storage, even auto tracking. Tapo don’t include this unless you pay for Cloud which is why I had this model.
Very good vision motion and detection when using the app
Purchased to keep an eye on the puppy while out, picture quality is pretty good. Love the fact I can toggle the camera in quick view. The motion sensor is on point and so is the motion tracker all in all for the price tag I’d highly recommend
I’ve got the camera set up to be both a pet cam and a outside camera, as it’s set up on a windowsill. To say it’s not meant for an outdoor camera, the quality is still really great for long distance and capturing motion detection from long distance too.
At first I struggled with a reflection in the window of a light, but there’s a IR LED setting to turn this off. The downside to this though is that if you’re checking the room inside on a night, it needs to be turned back on.
The app is very easy to use, but I will say the pan/tilt control feature can be a bit clunky and lag so that the camera overshoots quite a bit. Other than that I’m really happy with my purchase.
I got this as I recently got a dog and wanted to see what it got up to while was at work.
Decent picture quality,
can view on an app any where any time.
Can control the camera in the app pan/tilt.
Also has human detection
Auto tracking
Zoom
This is an amazing purchase definitely worth the money. Great night vision, you can view live in real time, you always get notifications when is movement is detected and so on, so many advantages with these item. Great 100% recommended.
Relatively easy to setup, great night vision and picture quality. Recommended.
It is a very useful product and it has been working as expected.
I have a full-time nanny and a baby, and this camera has been a great addition.
It’s easy to use, and I can see everything clearly in the dark, even when I’m on the phone.
There’s no lag time between when the camera detects activity and when it records, and there’s a “Human on the move” setting that’s adjustable so that I can see when nannies, family members, or pets are moving around.
The camera is easy to install and can be mounted both on the wall and on the ceiling.
The product is easy to use and I can adjust the angle of the camera to view what I need.
Overall, good quality vision and the price is affordable.
This is simple to set up, and the image quality is great. Now we know which cat is to blame if they get up to mischief, and putting it in the window meant we deterred someone from breaking into our garden. The motion detection works brilliantly too. A real bargain.
I recommend this if you have a dog or a cat and you want to keep an eye on them while at work.
You do need a good Wi-Fi connection for this to work.
Audio and vision is quite good for the price.
Easy setup, trouble free use, I haven’t used all functions yet but was great for keeping an eye on the dogs while we were out. Really good quality for a fantastic price imo
Image quality is pretty good given this camera’s price. I Bought it to keep an eye on my dogs and I had to be way and it was brilliant. I did even had a 30m chat with my neighbour who was looking over the dogs. Night vision is also pretty impressive. So far I can can only say that a wall attachment would be great . definitely buy another one if needed
Great camera. Used for pet cam/security cam and very pleased with it. Easy to use and set up. Motion detection is great and can adjust sensitivity. Night mode is very clear. Considering buying another for another part of the house!
Brilliant wee camera quality in day and night is amazing. Runs off WiFi and needs to be plugged in at all times which can limit where you put it. Audio is good too maybe a slight delay but i used it 70 miles away and worked.
This has been worth its weight in gold, we have raids in the kitchen by other cats and we have seen some lovely things via this. There is one particular cat, shall we call him cat A (as the bots at A dont like his name) he is a stray and prefers to sleep on one of the kitchen chairs and eat all our cats food! He is getting braver and instead of racing through the cat flap when he hears us upstairs he waits now until we are literally at the kitchen door before running out and waits until he hears the door close and comes in again!!
The camera is great to set up and use, had no trouble connecting it to my mums slow internet the only thing is that it jumps so one minute you see a cat on the table and the next it’s disappeared.
there is a fee for use of the cloud but its only small and worth it for the entertainment we get every morning from it seeing what Tobi, (mums cat) and Cat A gets up to, we have a raid from cat B now too she is a local cat and her owner couldnt believe it when we showed him proof she was eating Tobias food.
I bought a SD card for it and have recorded hours of footage. Worth every penny. I would lightly recommend this to any cat owner with a cat flap!
(I have been trying to load some video of the thing but mums internet is so slow it wont download so will wait until I get into a 4G signal one afternoon and pad it then) We have so many pictures too
The night vision is great compared to what I thought it would be like and the picture quality is perfect when its daylight or electric lights are on. the only thing is it jumps but I suspect its mums internet. It’s also fun to use on motion detection mode when it follows its subject, the cat is intrigued with it and is often seen sniffing it when he has come out from behind the kitchen curtain.
Would highly recommend
I am very positively surprised, because for this price I did not expect anything cool, and here is a nice surprise. this camera is great rotatable, super picture, sound and easy to install.
Fantastic picture quality easy to set up an simple to use worth every penny.
The camera is great and I would suggest as all the functions are useful and if you choose to get the subscription it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket, however I could not get the camera to connect while using a android device, I used an apple device and it worked straight away. Once the camera was connected and linked to my account I could view it on my android phone no problem
Brilliant camera but connection issues on android while setup.
For the price you can’t really complain. I’ve been using it to see what my pup gets up to when I’ve left the house and it’s been great for that purpose. The motion detection is good and using the app you can control the camera’s direction. Listening to what is happening in the room is helpful too, so I know if the dog is whining or barking. I think my only two complaints are that without a good wifi connection, controlling the camera is quite slow, it takes a little patience but it’s not too bad. The biggest issue is that the speaker is totally rubbish. I’ve tried speaking through the app and it comes out as crackly noise and doesn’t have an affect on the dog at all. It doesn’t bother me much but thought I’d mention it. As I said, for the price I’m really happy with the camera and can’t really complai
Bought this to try and calm my barking dog down whilst I’m at work. While speaking to my dog didn’t help with the barking (it made it worse), I can’t fault the camera. The picture is clear, the sound is great and I can speak to my animals through my phone. I haven’t used the night vision yet so can’t review that but all in all I’m very happy with it.
I love these cameras so much so I am in the process of upgrading all of my internal cameras to these.
You may be asking why ? Simple these cameras being 4mp gives you a sharp clear picture at all times including during the night. Another plus point is the clear two way sound which we effectively utilise as a intercom between room’s, no more shouting !! And of course you have the option to remotely shield cameras individually when privacy is required which is a very useful setting that I haven’t found on others out there.
Very good product only thing thats concerning me is on the app it mentioned you be charged every month just want to know if someone can confirm if this is the case?
I like this camera as the quality is not bad to say the least. I use it for security in my flat and it gives me peace of mind
Used as a security camera when house empty. Good picture quality & can rotate camera remotely if required. Also has facility to switch off camera if home to avoid constant triggering by your movement.
We’ve already got an Imou setup so this was just going to be used as an extra camera for the viewing app. Our original one was being used as a camera for a window looking out down the drive, but this secondary camera was intended for use in the babies’ playroom so we could see what they are up to whilst we are not in there. The 1080p camera is excellent, just like our other one and connection was pretty easy for us as we just had to pair a second one up to our existing app.
As with a lot of cameras, there is a two-way talk feature, which is always good if you are keeping an eye on your children or pets as you can use your voice to soothe them if they are feeling distressed.
Am a bit annoyed there is a subscription fee but then that seems to be the case with most of the cameras these days. On the bright side, it is only 2 per month which is nothing really and everything is stored to cloud.
I do like this camera a lot and as I already have one, the connection was pretty easy for me. I will say sometimes the connection can drop easily, whIch can be annoying, but apart from that, we have not found any other problems. I’d be happy to give this cam a good 4/5
This camera is really easy to setup and takes no time to get is ready to work.
You just need to install the app, create an account and then scan the code from the bottom of the camera.
The rest is just following the instructions on the app.
They are simple and easy to do.
Make sure you don’t start the trial version of the so call “Imou Protect” unless you are going to subscribe for it in future.
You might still get notifications and pop up messages to subscribe and they are a bit annoying sometimes, but at least you are not going to be pushed to actually subscribe.
Hopefully this will not change in future.
After installing and connecting it to the app you can change the setting of motion sensor to MAX as it is set to 3 out of 5.
When set on max,the camera is detecting motion really fast and tracks really quick.
The quality of the camera is pretty good and it is really 1080p HD.
The camera also has HDR ,which is disabled by default, but it is good to enable it as it gives better quality.
The price of this camera is only 30.99 ,which is not bad for what you get.
Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.
We wanted a camera in our house, just to add some extra security and peace of mind. We ordered this one as it seemed to cover all the bases we needed. It’s very much an entry level camera at its current price of 30.99 and that is fine for us.
Setting it up took us a while but we eventually got there. We connected it to our home wi-fi and it worked fine first time.
We have tried it out both during the day and at night in the dark to see how it faired. Both times of the day worked fine with the camera. In the daylight and the darkness the motion tracking worked. The daylight picture is excellent and very clear. The night vision picture isn’t quite as good, but night vision quality very rarely is anyway. It is still more than able to show us what’s going on and identify movements in the room and who/what is making them.
I like that this comes with the option to use a memory card slot, so I can control the footage and it’s kept private. I wouldn’t be so confident of the footage remaining private if it was stored online.
It’s everything we had hoped it would be in terms of recording movement and quality of picture and we would happily recommend it.
This is decent cctv/baby monitor with many nice features and dedicated app for smartphone. This is 360 degrees camera which means you can have full control over camera and where camera facing. Live you can use app to rotate camera around and move lens up and down.
Camera offering very rich app features such an changing resolution of image between 480p/720p/1080p so you can adjust it depending on what is your broadband speed or microSD memory capacity. On lice you can use pan/tilt setting to control motor of camera. It is not the smoothest move i have to say, it does jiggle and there is noticeable delay. On app you can see previews of all cameras you have at the same time thanks to split screen. If you have 4 you can have all of them on screen. Tilting up and down have slightly limitation due to housing shape and build. You cannot look completely down or up which is shame a bit.
Good thing that there is 2-way talk available so you can talk through this camera and hear answer back. It has detection notifications build in and will alert you about any movement or noise. Besides of that you can select person to track it which is awesome when comes to using this camera as baby monitor.
When comes to subscription. Every camera on market has any kind of subscription available to purchase as optional. This camera offers 2/month which is good offer really and then you can look month back into cloud for any footage. Helpful in many cases. So paying for extra server space is nothing new. I am very happy with this camera.
I have been using this Imou 1080P Wi-Fi 360 camera for a couple of weeks and it has performed without fault, I’m also using a couple of other 1080P 2.4GHz Wi-Fi cameras as part of my security set-up for the house.
In the box is the camera, a long micro-USB to USB A cable, USB mains adaptor, and a wall mount with wall plugs and screws
After removing all the items from the box, I found a suitable position to place the camera. I found the build quality of this 1080P camera is very good. I connected the camera to the mains adaptor using the long USB cable, I had a spare mains socket fairly nearby. The next step was to download the Imou Life APP from the Android play store. This will then need to be registered with an email address and password. I turned the mains socket on and the LED on the camera started to flash, then I opened the APP and selected add new device, selected camera from the device list. I installed this using my router password and then the scanned the presented QR code to the camera and it installed my camera, the LED on the camera stopped flashing. I opened up the camera and selected 1080P resolution, the available settings are 480P, 720P, and 1080P. I am very impressed with the video quality from the camera and the responsiveness of the APP, I setup for motion detection and the video will then this will be saved to a 64GHz micro-SD card I inserted. It best to first format the micro-SD card within the camera. The 360 rotation of the camera is quiet and smooth, and this is a useful feature. The tracking mode also works well, not sure it’s something I would use.
The 360 operation of the camera works smoothly and quiet, so checking inside my house from any location is really easy on my mobile.
Overall, day or night this camera’s video quality is excellent, and the APP is very good with plenty of options and fast response. I think for a 1080P 2.4Ghz indoor camera 33.99 at the time of review represents good value, at the moment there’s also a 15% discount voucher that can be applied.
Ala
Got this so I could keep an eye on my dog while I’m out, it was easy to setup and the app was easy to use. Really good picture quality in day and nightmode however the microphone is not very good at all very distorted. Sd card is needed unless you want to pay for cloud storage but you get a 2 week free trial once its set up overall I good price
Incredible value for money.
Near silent operation.
Good tracking movement.
Great quality 1080P plus HDR recording.
Cloud or micro SD recording (not included)
SD card installation not obvious. Not mentioned in instructions as I know of ?
You have to manually raise the lens to reveal the slot for SD and reset button.
Subscription required for cloud recording.
Easy set up.
Scan a QR code in the dedicated app and ensure 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi is set only and the instructions are very simple.
Great control via the app, quite customisable .
Pan + tilt manually.
The Imou camera is a really sleek looking piece of equipment that is easy to set up and takes up minimal space.
I use it to see how my dog is doing when I am at work (she is usually sleeping or looking out of the window!) and it is really reassuring that I can see her very clearly using the app that you download onto your mobile.
The app itself is really useful as you can control what you see and in which direction you want the camera to be in even when you are away, you can even communicate through it but I haven’t done this as I’m not sure what my dog would make of this!
Firstly, I am happy to be stood corrected within this review and secondly I have used IMOU products before and will use them again, they provide some excellent indoor cameras with excellent quality and some nice features. On to this camera.
The unit itself is neat and not overly obstructive in a room. I have this in the living room of my address and it doesn’t really get in the way of anything, it’s white colour as well also helps.
The setup of this camera was easy, I already had the app installed, quick scan of the bar code and a minute or 2 later, all done.
The picture quality is great, pop on the HDR option, which appears to be off by default in the app to improve the quality of the image.
The camera/app features are a nice touch, AI tracking so it’ll follow someone around a room is also a great touch. Also your own ability to pan and tilt the camera is great.
So why only 3 stars, basically down to IMOU wanting you, actually almost making you pay them monthly for a subscription to open up the full set of features. If I am buying a product, all feature should be accessible for me, with this specific camera I found this not to be the case, it appears some features are behind a further paywall, big down vote in my mind.
For it to be an effective and useful camera, you will need to pay for their subscription service. Otherwise it is just a camera, which your can drop in to every now and then providing no actual security support.
You can avoid cloud storage with an SD CARD, which is at least some saving grace. This is quite neatly hidden on the axis of the camera itself. Pan the camera to the fully up position and you’ll find it.
Ultimately the picture quality is excellent and the camera does have some great features at this price, however more or less pushing a consumer towards a subscription to open up the cameras full set of skills is poor.
Such a simple device to set up, even with my broken camera which doesn’t focus, scanning the qr code of the bottom of the camera sets off the setup and the instructions are simple to follow.
Once added the picture quality is very good, the movement is easy and smooth and audio quality is great for its size.
This would be great for a baby monitor or dog watching camera.
Imou seem to make a lot of good quality products.
Great IP camera with lots of features for the price and good video quality. I have owned one in white for a while now with no issues so decided to get one in grey.
