for under 3k, this keyboard is a no brainer! Best thing about this is that it got hot-swappable keys and some extra keycaps which helps you to customise the keyboard in your own way, and it sounds super clean!!!
It was surely worth it!
The keyboards quality is overall pretty great, good keycaps and there are a variety of switches that they sell so there will be something for everyone. The only downside is that the led’s on the keyboard is set to only blue which does not mind me but could annoy others who are picky about matching colors.
The keyboard is amazing for the price, I previously had the OG strafe RGB 2017, the alt key died on me so I figured I’ll just get a cheaper keyboard this time around and see if it’ll last as long. So far this is about the same build quality as the Strafe 2017 was, but the keys on this keyboard are way more satisfying to press.
It’s built pretty well, it’s very compact, having the del/pgup/pgdn as well as the tilde is super useful, full function buttons as well. The lighting is basic but you can’t expect much for lighting at this pricepoint
My only issue would be that you have to manually place the coloured keys when you first unbox the keyboard, I got the red/white/black version and had to swap the red keys into the keyboard, the keys were just a basic bag of replacement keys that included extra keys that wouldn’t fit into the form factor.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase, I still gotta get used to the compact size. I find myself going way too far over to press the dir keys, muscle memory is wild sometimes
Arrived with key caps falling off. I had to do a push down of all key caps, as most were unsecured. Plugged it in and started it up and typing was ok, but layout is less than perfect. It is a cheaper keyboard and has decent and very responsive switches, key caps are really nice, but layout is not great. Will be sending back and buying a more standard 10 key less keyboard.
This keyboard is sooooo good and its just perfect in every way for a beginner mechanical keyboard
Typese of switches:
Red switches: Louder
Purple switches: quieter
Switches color matter pick the kind you like.
I don’t like loud switches so if you like me go for the purple ones
I love this keyboard! And the price is very nice! I have an old-school Ethan Allan desk with a pull out keyboard tray, and the size of this is perfect for it and my trackball.
The switches remind me of a cross between Blue and Brown switches. Not too loud and clicky, but feel great to type on. And I love the light motion options it gives you, and you can swap out keycaps. Amazing value for the money!
I like this board as it’s good for getting into keyboard modding.
just be aware that the hotswap switches are a switch type called “Outemu” switches which is a thinner type of switch
apart from that not too bad
overall its a really good starter board , its hotswap and relatively cheap.
my one complaint is that the switches are quite hard to take off the board and i dont know why.
This is my first customizable keyboard so I didn’t want want to spend a lot of money on one. I got the blue switches for the clacking sound. It makes me want to type more.
Very compact and responsive keyboard. Comes with a few extra red keycaps, some of which don’t even belong in this keyboard (eg. Vertical “enter” key.) The switches are easily removed with the provided tool but removing the keycaps can be a tiny, bit fiddly. The back of the keyboard doesn’t have any “legs” so you can’t raise and tilt it. You can only lay it flat.
First time ever buying a mechanical and this is perfect hot swap was big for me and this is perfect for just starting out and tinkering it is a 3 pin switch just make sure to anyone who’s gonna order some new switches…. I’d get some stabilizers first tbh space bar is just to clacky loud for night time it will wake a baby daddy approved
I love this keyboard it feels so nice it comes with a lot of rgb options but I wish you could change the rgbs color . For the price the keyboard is excellent and perfect for me the only problem I had with it is that it is too good
I was just xpecting this to be cheap but it was actually really nice keyboard lights work nice and sounds alrigh
I love the customisation of the blue glowing lights. Works perfect for my video editing and day to day use. I love the blue switch which is very clicky and a bit loud which I like. Great value for money I say
I like it but I do not know how to switch to colors
Wanted to get into building my own. Started with this. Awesome for the money. Put some keycaps on and transformed the keyboard. Next will be mods. I will NEVER buy the expensive Razer or Roccat brands again.
For $30, this keyboard is a steal. I’m currently using it now and after changing the purple switches for akko wine reds, lubing the stabilizers, and both tape modding and press n’ seal modding the keyboard it feels like a totally new keyboard. For one, this keyboard is incredibly poppy. It has a nice poppy sound after the mod, and honestly the spacebar is one of my best sounding spacebars (and I have built five keyboards). I only bought this keyboard to use on my Playstation, but now it might become a main. Beating out my LK67 custom built keyboard (around $120).
The one main con is of course it is not bluetooth, but because of how amazing it feels and sounds I can push past that. Another thing I have to say is that I have seen some people mention to the metallic ping sound, but that isn’t because of the board itself, it is actually because of the purple switches they come with. So if you can spare an extra $14 I would recommend hotswapping out the switches and this keyboard will sound amazing. However, I did have some issues getting in cherry profile switches. So, I’d recommend akko (which is sometimes even cheaper than cherry profiles). Akko vintage whites sound absolutely incredible in this board after some lubing. Although, there is a little bit of ping in the stabilizers, but not very noticeable with headphones on or even all the time when typing fast (coming from someone who types about 115wpm average).
If you need a cheap keyboard that you don’t mind being wired, I would highly recommend this one. Opening it up is also incredibly easy, making modding a breeze.
For the video: The spacebar and all letters are akko wine reds. The number row is all the purples that came with the keyboard. It is also filmed with iPhone 14 phone audio.
The sound is very good for a budget keyboard. It has 3 pin hot swap which is a bonus and good easy setup and connection. The only downside is the stabs are really clacky but you can not complain at this price point.
Brilliant product , best for its price range, and also beats some over higher ends boards. Highly recommend as a starter or even for a second keyboard
You can change the keys, easy to remove and replace, nice light patterns when you press the keyboard.
My first mechanical keyboard, purchased for
I would recommend it it’s not that loud but it makes a nice sound it got red switches but I don’t know for how long it will last but its pretty good I would recommend if anything happends I’ll leave another review
Great 68 key board. The cyan backlight is very attractive. The keycaps are good quality and the board is hot swappable. Works well out of the box and has great bones for modding. Stock switches have a lot of spring ping, but at this price point it’s difficult to complain. Phenomenal for the price. Would buy again.
