For whatever reason I was not expecting this foam pad to be this thick. This is by far the thickest I have used, including those at the gym, but for the purposes of hip thrusts it is ideal. Hip thrusts under a lot of weight really does dig into ones hip and can lead to diminishing returns in strength the more weight you add to the bar. But this is so thick, even the heavier lifters would find it difficult to add enough weight to have the bar cut in to them.
The downside to this is that due to its thickness, hip thrusts are its best and only real use. It is too thick for Squats in my opinion.
The quality and style are very standard. But it does look good.
    Overall satisfactory for Hip thrusts.

From the moment I started using this thick foam pad, I could feel the difference it made. The cushioning provided just the right amount of support, making my hip thrusts more comfortable and enjoyable. The heavy-duty construction ensured that the pad stayed in place throughout my workout sessions, without any slipping or shifting.
One of the things I appreciated the most was how well the pad accommodated both women and men. My gym buddy, who happens to be of the opposite gender, also fell in love with this gym accessory, claiming that it made a significant difference in their comfort during heavy lifting sessions

This hip thrust barbell pad is very durable and ensures to keep the bar in place. The pad is sturdy and can accommodate for different size bars too. It had two straps facing either way to prevent it from opening easily. It is a good cushion to prevent friction and isn’t rough. It is steep in price but is a good gym accessory. Would recommend as a personal piece of equipment!

Easy to use thrust barbell pad

    Really well made.

Extremely comfortable in use for hip thrusts, due to the firm foam core. This is viewable via a zip opening.

Having two opening & closing hook and loop flaps in opposite directions helps to make the pad more secure on a bar.

The pad grips an olympic bar very well. This is aided by the dots on the inside to stop it from any unnecessary spin in use.

Has a handy hanging up/carrying loop at one end.

Costs quite a lot more than a regular squat pad. The quality and the benefit this provides is well worth the additional outlay. It seems built to last a long time. Obviously as we all come in different shapes and sizes, it may not be ideal and beneficial for everyone. As some may find it too thick and they or other people could find the width may not be quite adequate for their needs. For me personally, it really is a game changer, and a superb lifting accessory to have to make frequent use of.

I’ve been using this with a friend. I found it to be comfy, durable and great value for money, but it is quite thick. It slightly restricts movement especially in individuals that are slightly bigger but I do believe it is a good beginners bar, which is good for my friend. I feel like I would personally need one that is not as thick.

    Quick thick but useful

Fits fabulously on the bar with no complaints. The Velcro is very strong so you can ensure it won’t come off mid exercise. Comfy, but didn’t come with instructions which may have been beneficial

Great! Exactly what you need for hip thrusts

High quality barbell pad designed with hip thrusts in mind. A removable cover that has non-slip grips on its inner and an alternate left/right velcro attachment means the pad stays firmly in place whether using a standard or oly bar.

Thicker in diameter than the average barbell pad this could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on your view. Advantage is the extra padding makes the bar more comfortable. Disadvantage is could reduce range of movement.

Would love this quality and design to be put into a less padded version.

This pad is really thick and is comfortable when doing hip thrusts.

It fits onto the bar well and stays securely in place during exercise.

This isn’t one that you can use for squats as well as it is too thick for that, but for your hip thrusts it is perfect to prevent any bruising or discomfort.

This is incredibly well made and high quality material, it’s really impressive, the thick padding stops any painful pressure caused by the bar doing hip thrusts, I’ve also found it incredibly comfortable to use when doing squats with the bar as I used to get a lot of pain from that when I had the bar resting on me during my sets, definitely worth the price as the quality alone would be worth more, happily recommend

strong, resistant and comfortable, this foam pad is far better then any other pads I ever used in the gym and definitely perfect for Hip Thrusts exercise

its material is high quality, the cover can be taken off for cleaning if needed; the velcro is secure, never loose; the foam is thick enough and doesn’t blunt

I like that it doesn’t slip, stays where you put it during exercises, also really easy to install it on the bar and take it off

it may seem a bit expensive but for its quality, durability of the foam and comfort when use it it’s really worth the money (24.99 at the moment)

    Perfect for Hip Thrusts

This is an extra thick foam thrust pad that would provide more support during hip thrusts exercise.

It has a full-body fabric cotton layer which adds extra protection to the foam cushion. The thickness of the cushioning is about 6cm, so you have a soft and supportive layer. While its length is about 45 cm, so it covers your full hip size during hip thrust. It is also sweat-proof and comfortable even for sensitive skin.

Aside from that, it comes with large velcro pads which ensure that the thrust pad is stable and secure. They hold the pad firmly in place and you can tighten them on barbells of any size, including Standard and Olympic Bars.

I find this item very sturdy to the point that it doesn’t deform when I used it to lift heavy weights. I also like the very generous amount of pads which provide great comfort in my hips. It is even better at distributing the weight so you can hardly feel it. Also, the velcro still works after months and months of using it many times a week, so I find it great.

Though this pad is simple in design, I must say that it effectively helps me lift more weight safely. Another bonus is it is very easy to fit on and off the bar. It is a pity it doesn’t come with a storage bag as it is slightly bulky to bring to the gym.

Overall, this is worth it and recommended for more comfortable training.

As said in the description this protects my legs and could be used for bench presses ..but you may find it a bit too thick for that, however as glute workout goes it works perfectly.

Fits my barbell and protects my legs ..all u need 2 know

Overall its a good quality item but my only issue is its a little too thick. Makes it harder to get legs under the bar during initial set up

Nice quality, strong cover with dense filler foam which is very comfortable.

The pad is easy to put on and take off with the two velcro fasteners.
Inside there is a dotted pattern which helps prevent the pad from slipping when on the bar.

There are cheaper options available but those are much more basic in design and material for half the price but would provide similar comfort and performance.

    Nice Quality Hip Thrust Pad

4.5 stars because it’s great but slight drawbacks.
This is a hip thrust specific barbell pad. You can see from my pictures just how much wider and longer it is than a standard pad. What you can’t appreciate from the pics is that the foam is also significantly firmer and likely more durable. The covering material is way thicker than a standard pad. The stitching is sound and the Velcro is strong and the strips are wide. This really feels like a quality piece of kit.
I have to be honest when I first saw the internal diameter it looked quite small and I wasn’t convinced it would fit an Olympic barbell. Whilst it’s a tight push to get onto the bar it fits really nicely and doesn’t slip
I’d read the review that said about cutting down range of movement at the bottom of the lift but actually I have found the opposite. If I use just the bar or a thin pad, i have a couple of inches where my hips lift off the floor before they make contact with the bar so in effect those few inches of movement are unweighted. With this bigger pad you are in contact with the bar from the bottom of the movement so the load is there straight away. As someone who has to be careful of their lower back I find this actually makes the movement feel more comfortable.
The downside of this thickness is that it does make it harder to get into position under the bar. I’m fairly slim but have chunky squatter thighs so when rolling the bar up, the plates lift from the ground slightly as it goes over my upper thighs before touching the ground again when over my pelvis. This is uncomfortable once you start using a heavier bar as you are rolling the full weight over your thighs. You could get round this by resting the barbell on some plates or mats a couple of inches thick in order to give a bit more clearance but then you risk the trade off with range of motion. The other thing I’ve found is that because of the large diameter of the pad my thighs push the bar up slighter higher on my pelvis than it would normally be. I think a more well built person might struggle to fit this pad between thighs and stomach. Although that may depend on the position you use for hip thrusts I.e.- back on the floor a back on a bench.
I do feel that overall the pad is fractionally too thick, about 1cm less diameter would be perfect, but I am hoping that it will flatten slightly with use and should then be perfect.
There’s also no getting away from the fact this is a pretty bulky piece of kit to carry to and from the gym. I have a sizeable rucksack but it won’t fit. Ideally this would have a little drawstring bag with a shoulder strap to carry it like yoga mat.
That said I’m so impressed with this pad and how much more comfy it is to use than anything else I am converted and prepare to put up with the mild inconvenience of having to carry it with me in my hand. There’s no way I’m leaving this in the gym for everyone else to use!

    It’s a beast of a pad!

The barbell pads in my local gym are both narrow and thin making hip thrusts painful. This solves the problem for me completely. The foam is really thick and comfortable (about 7-8cm thick from the edge of the bar). I am just under 6ft with reasonably wide hips and this is wide enough for me to use comfortably.

The materials including the foam, cover and Velcro are all really robust and high quality – they feel like they will last and stand up to a lot of use.

A great quality item – highly recommended!

This hip thrust barbell pad with extra thick foam padding doing great job i have to admit, it helps me a lot during several different exercises, it is very useful in my home gym, I haven’t had anything like it yet but from now on I will always use.
With this barbell pad can lift much heavier loads, the weight limit is about 500 kilograms.
It’s lightweight and comfortable to skin material.
Good value for money, great quality.
    Recommend.

A really made pad. As i lift in my pupose build shed i dont have anyone to spot me so thsi also adds a layer of protection should the worst happen.

Well put together so should last.

This pad is nice and thick. It distributes weight evenly and feels secure, stable and anchored.

Hip thrust pads are an easy way to protect your hips, stabilise the bar, and push more weight while remaining comfortable.

As I have become stronger and have started pushing more serious weight, I’ve definitely felt the need to find some good protection and padding between my upper thigh and the bar.

Unsightly bruises and a bar digging into your thighs and pelvis don’t need to be part of the deal.

This pad is simple in design, will protect your crotch area and bones, stabilise the bar, and effectively help you lift more weight safely.

It’s thick and super comfortable, and a piece of cake to install on and off the bar.

It’s made of very durable foam and I don’t feel the bar through it at all.
The material is sweat proof so I don’t feel it slipping and the Velcro properly secures the pad to the bar tightly.

In my opinion this pad is good quality, effective and is budget friendly.
I would say it’s ideal for anyone who is interested in sculpting and building their glutes. I would say it’s ideal for both beginners and more intermediate lifters alike.

I hope you find my review helpful.

    Good value. Durable. Secure.

Good product, but maybe a bit too wide for various people. Very padded and sturdy material however.

    Very good but very wide

It is the best quality I have ever used, can also use it for squats with protection on your neck/shoulder area. Hip thrust was also not bad, I think it is better for larger people as this is a massive pad, and has a zip that lets you open it up, inside is a thick foam feels like soft yet durable foam, kinda on the harder side, I could barely spread it with one hand, whilst holding the camera.

Got no problems with it myself, well would be nice if it came with a large soft pouch to put it in, used it for home gym, would have been nice to take this out to a public gym, but that’s just hassle. Fun thing you might be able to do with this is, take out the foam from zip side and use the foam without the external padding, which may help some people who find it too bulky with the straps. However I don’t think the external materials take up that much space.

I want to note that this isn’t a very soft pad, it is soft but it is thick and kinda hardish with a soft external feel but has resistance to bending and squeezing, if you know what I mean.

    Got no problems with it.

I saw someone else using it in the gym and I have to say I couldn’t resist. I normally do hip thrusts of 90kg+ and can always feel pressure on my hips. Not this! It’s great! Could also use it as a roller to stretch after. 100% recommend

This barbell pad is a lot thicker than the other design so is even better at distributing the weight so you can hardly feel it! Once I started using this one i won’t go back to other types! It is really well made, and the velcro still works after months and months of using it many times a week! I’ve recommended it to all my friends that ever experience pain hip thrusting as you definitely won’t get that pain with this pad! The only thing is it can be slightly bulky to bring to the gym but this isn’t a problem if you have a gym bag 🙂 Overall very very good barbell pad – I’ve tried a couple of types but this one gives the least pain!

I’ve been using it with my clients. It’s very well made, comfy, durable and great value, but It’s really thick so doesn’t fit everyone’s anatomy. Some can use it but most don’t like it as it cuts your range of motion down at the bottom part of the lift. However if it is used for glute bridges and supported by plates either side giving you enough clearance it can be used well. I’d recommend it for beginners and then progress to a thinner pad. If you’re overweight you’ll struggle with this
